This document discusses different categories of abnormal pulmonary vascularity that can be seen on CXR: 1. Plethora - Increased pulmonary vasculature seen as more end-on vessels, enlarged pulmonary arteries and veins. Indicates left-to-right shunts. 2. Pulmonary venous hypertension - Seen as cephalization of vessels, interstitial edema, frank pulmonary edema. Progresses through 4 stages. 3. PAH - Pruned-tree appearance with diminished vessels in middle and outer lung zones due to constriction of peripheral vessels. 4.
