Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all personnel on-board and for all aspects of the
offshore operation to ensure a safe and efficient utilisation of the personnel and the facilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; Safety leadership regarding all aspects of on-board
safety processes and culture including the assurance of safety case mitigations against major
accident hazards via verification; Line manager for multi disciplined supervisors including
performance management, continuous appraisal and the training and development of all crew;
Implementation of management systems e.g. compliance with legislation, policy, standards and
procedures with particular attention to keystone legislation relating to the working environment,
emergency preparedness, and risk analyses; Optimisation of process plant and support systems,
including maintenance regimes and integrity assurance, to ensure production targets are achieved
in order to meet own company, and previously client, financial and operational targets.
• Operations manager (asset manager) for international FPSO contractor, responsible for the day to
day operational running of a North Sea Floating Production Storage and Offload vessel on behalf
of an International world leader in oil and gas E&P. Responsibilities included; maximising and
streamlining production, maintenance, marine systems, manpower, logistics, planning, structural
and safety systems integrity and all aspects of HSEQ. Line manager to 4 OIM’s and responsible
for all aspects of the offshore and onshore staff. Also responsible for shutdown/turnaround
planning and coordination ensuring minimum loss of production whilst ensuring all maintenance,
class and HSE requirements complied with.
• Operations Manager for RBG Ltd (and previously Cape Industrial services Ltd) – both international
service providers to the offshore industry. A strong emphasis on client interaction and customer
liaison with a remit to nurture relationships and grow business through effective delivery.
Responsible for numerous contracts providing personnel and services to several UK offshore
platforms.
• Engineering Manager (Royal Navy) responsible for the repair and maintenance of UK nuclear
submarines including all HSE issues. Planned and coordinated maintenance routines and
ensured shut down works were completed to time and budget prior to returning to operational
status.
