generation jack up operating from
Denmark and latterly southern sector of north sea. Senior
supervisor of marine dept on rig. Responsible for the running of all
aspects of the marine operations onboard, bulk transfers, deck
crew / crane ops and maintenance of safety/fire fighting
equipment.
Liaising closely with the OIM on many aspects of the day to day
running of the rig. Stability calculations and general safety of the
asset. Overseeing all aspects of rig moves. Ordering of various
marine equipment..
MARINE CRO/ BARGE ENGINEER
Marine control room operator on Stena Spey Drilling rig, watch
keeping in the control room, controlling entry/exit of various vessels
into the rigs 500m zone. Completing daily and weekly stability
checks, keeping vessel trim and on even keel, maintaining required
draft, monitoring of the rigs emergency control panel. Operating the
rigs Kongsberg touch screen system controlling all ballast /bilge
,various pumps and consumables tanks. Controlling of
deballasting/ballasting ops while going from operational to transit

times. Monitoring of all aspects of the vessel through satellite
communication, navigational aids, sonar and depth sounding
equipment and log book entries. Responsible for the
maintenance of the vessels main and auxiliary engines and
preparing/ assessing any plans for more in-depth repair
work. The ordering and/or repair of equipment, regular safety
checks of hydraulic lifting equipment. The progression of
maintenance recovery and forecast times at regular intervals,
negotiating with outside agencies if required. The control and
direction of resources to ensure the efficient operation of all
aspects of fishing from catching to landing, the day to day
operation of the vessel, the preparation and allocation of
duties to crew members.


In charge of deck crew ensuring daily running and
safety of deck at all times. Giving instruction and gaining hands
on experience in many aspects of the trade including rigging,
boat handling and close liaison with skipper. Preparing and
execution of any heavy lifts with all equipment necessary, from
preparing lifting plans, risk assessment, safety checking all
lifting equipment, then rigging equipment and proceeding to
execute lift in either a supervisory role or hands on. Very

and lubricants.

Voluntary coach for local school football team. This is a demanding
but rewarding hobby. I also sit on the committee for my local junior
football team, Burghead Thistle and take an active roll in the running
of the club. I am a member at my local Golf Club, Hopeman and am
currently working on improving my game. I also enjoy socialising with
friends and playing darts.
