Character Analysis Of Sir Andrew Aguecheek
Twelfth Night is one of the greatest plays to date because of its hilarious characters and plot. It
gives the readers a fun and festive theme and it is no secret that Sir Andrew Aguecheek is one of
the most comedic characters in the play. Andrew is described as a foolish night who is a wimp
and coward. He is good friends with Sir Toby Belch, a drunken knight who takes up residence at
the Countess s house who s described as a heavy drinker. Andrew adds to the fun in Twelfth Night
due to recurring reasons. His low intelligence, his relationship with the ladies and his appearance.
These reasons help add humourand fun to the play while also making Sir Andrew s character
particularly comedic
One of the major flaws of Sir Andrew Aguecheeks is his low intelligence. This is because he often
gets him in dangerous situations that are planned by his friend Sir Toby. Toby sees Andrew as an
easy target to plan a trick on and describes him as if he were opened and you/ find so much blood
in his liver as will clog the foot of a/ flea. (3.2.55 77)
The trick played on Sir Andrew results in him getting hurt and beaten. This adds to a con argument
as Sir Andrew s lack of intelligence gets him in a situation where he unexpectedly gets in trouble
resulting in mass confusion.
However, Sir Andrew s foolishness helps add to the festive spirit in Twelfth Night. Andrew s
misunderstanding of Illyria results in a lot of humor as he navigates through the situations he faces
in the play. A

Essay on Opera
Imagine you are in a darkened theater and on stage are the actors. Behind the actors you can see
the scenery. Down in front of the stage, in what is called the pit, is an orchestra and a conductor.
As the orchestra plays, the actors on stage do not speak their lines they sing them!
Opera is the combination of drama and music. Like drama, opera embraces the entire spectrum of
theatrical elements: dialogue, acting, costumes, scenery and action, but it is the sum of all these
elements, combined with music, which defines the art form called opera.
Operatic dramas are usually serious, but there are several comic operas and funny scenes in tragic
operas. The music is usually complicated and difficult to sing well. Only the most skillful ... Show

Jean Philippe Rameau, George Frederic Handel, and Christoph Willibald Gluck were the most
significant opera composers of the first two thirds of the 18th century. However, their works were
surpassed by the brilliant operas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the early 19th century,
Gioacchino Rossini and Gaetano Donizetti dominated Italian opera. In the later 19th century the
greatest works were those of Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner. Wagner, with his bold
innovations, became the most influential operatic figure since Monteverdi. Richard Strauss and
Giacomo Puccini wrote the most popular late 19th and early 20th century operas. Though the
death of Puccini in 1924 is often cited as the end of grand opera, new and often experimental
works by composers such as Alban Berg, Benjamin Britten, Gian Carlo Menotti, John Adams, and
Philip Glass continued to be produced to critical acclaim. Opera entered the 21st century as a
vibrant and global art form.
The first roots of modern opera first appeared in Italy in the 17th century from the Camerata (an
academy of Florentine poets, musicians, and scholars). The Camerata, inspired by ancient Greek
drama, sung dialogues and choruses which were accompanied by musical instruments. The
Camerata developed the stile recitative, in order to integrate drama, action, dialogue and narration.
In this sung speech, a singer delivered a recitative melody with an actor s dramatic and oratorical
skills, achieving the goal of providing

1.5 Elisa Answers
Activity 1.1.5: ELISA | Conclusion Explain why antibodies allow scientists to target and identify
specific disease agents. a. Antibodies allow scientists to target and identify specific disease agents
because they bind to antigens to counteract them. The more antigens you have, the more antibodies
you have, the more the of the virus/bacteria that there is in you. Why is the secondary antibody
used in an ELISA test conjugated with an enzyme? What happens when this enzyme meets up with
its substrate? b. Attached to the secondary antibody is an enzyme such as peroxidase or alkaline
phosphatase. These enzymes can metabolize colorless substrates (sometimes called chromagens)

Discuss the limitations of using antigen concentration to deduce the path of infection. Be sure to
refer to the workings of the human immune system. g. By using antigen concentration to deduce
the path of infection, the body s immune system may try to fight off the antigen invader.
Therefore, a limitation may be that the results are a little skewed as some of the antigens may
have been killed by the body s defense. Also, each person is different, so the body s response to
these foreign objects would have varied. The ELISA test can also be used to detect antibodies that
are produced in response to a specific antigen. Using information about how you completed this
ELISA experiment, outline a procedure for testing for antibodies in the blood. h. Add protein to

2.1.3Options
There are two kinds of options in the market, European options and American options. The most
common traded one is American options which can be exercised before maturity in the market.
Call options provide the holders the right to buy the underlying assets at an exercise price while
put options is the right to sell (Rad et al., 2015).
Hedgers needs to pay a direct premium when the options open in order to compensate for the
speculators. In this case, hedgers have a right to choose whether they would like to exercise the
options at maturity. As to the speculators, they are the writers of the optionand they have no right

2.1.4Swaps
Swap is an agreement that investors exchange cash flows at a specific time in the future. Generally,
both parties believe their exchanges are the same amount of cash flows. The most common swaps
are interest rate swap and currency swap. The transaction needs a dealer to realise and dealers get
the profits from transaction cost and the bid ask spread of the cash flows.
Take interest rate swap as an example, the hedgers may wish to have a certain fixed interest
payment for their loans. By contrast, the speculators are more willing to take a floating interest
payment either they have the same amount of loan or not. The dealer combine these two
counterparties together and create the swap for the exchange of fixed interest rate and floating
interest rate (Simons Horward, 2003). To the interest payment data, the hedger pays the fixed
interests to the speculator and received the floating interests according to the dealer. Then they pay
the floating interests to the cash market. In this case, they only pay the fixed interest rate as agreed
before and eliminate the risk of interest rate uncertainty. For the speculators, they pay the floating
interests and receive the fixed interests. If the floating interest rate is greater than the fixed one,
then they suffer a loss, otherwise they get the profits.
Generally, individuals and non banking institutions are able to be the dealer which may cause

Setting and Its Effect on Understanding Young Goodman...
Setting and its Effect on Understanding Young Goodman Brown Every tale ever told shares similar
formal elements. All of these formal elements have equally important consequence on a story. The
setting of a story has direct correlations to the way that the reader consumes the meaning of the
story. The setting in Young Goodman Brown allows its author, Nathaniel Hawthorne, to leave the
endingambiguous, without closure. The reader is constantly expected to decide for themselves
truth. Literal interpretation, widely accepted after its initial publication, respected the story as a
puritan fable. The message of which: Without faith in God you are defenseless against the evils of

The most haunted town in America at the time of publication was Salem, Massachusetts. It wasn t
by coincidence that Hawthorne chose Salem as the setting for his ghost story; he had family ties to
the very events which made Salem infamous. So he sets the story in a forest outside the town of
witches still inhabited by devilish Indians. The forest is an important part of the setting as well.
The forest in those days seemed vast and endless and much of it remained unexplored and foreign.
Safety was achieved by living in communities. Those who chose to wander into the forest
oftentimes never returned. The early Americans did not trust the Native Americans or their ancient
religions and practices. The settlers believed them to be the devils servants.
In this setting no illusion is beyond the devils control. Without his faith, Goodman Brown is
helpless to resist the wickedness of the devil.. Hawthorne alludes to devil s magic by comparing
his own staff as the very one the Egyptian magicians transformed to a serpent. A witch who lost
her broomstick appears along the path. Her identity: the old lady who taught young Goodman
Brown his catechism. Goodman Brown sees the evil in everyone because as he journeys farther
along the path with the devil the devil reveals members of his fraternity. Not only telling him of
these people and their indiscretions but also by showing him those closest to him in the wicked

Fitzgerald began working on Tender is the Night during the late 1920s but found it difficult as his
wife Zelda s mental illnesses and their money issues had affected him. When Zelda had her first
nervous breakdown in 1930s they were living in Europe and she was hospitalized in Switzerland.
It became certain that she would never recover fully. Fitzgerald s father died in 1931, which can be
seen in the novelportrayed as Dick s father s death. Combined with his insistent alcoholism, these
misfortunes and setbacks overwhelmed him. Fitzgerald had settled in suburban Baltimore by
1932, and had finally settled on what his novel was going to be about. The books plot was about
a gifted young psychiatrist called Dick Diver. He marries one of his patients, Nicole Warren.
Dick had virtually limitless potential and when he decides to decision to marry a woman he
falls in love with who is mentally ill, he eventually descends into depression and alcoholism as
their disaster prone relationship fails. The book went through many versions and took a lot of
time; the original story was to be about matricide, the act of killing ones Mother. Such a
laboured birth of his fourth novel had never been the writer s original intention (Blazek, 1). The
book can be described as a thinly veiled somewhat autobiographical novel due how similar the
story s main plot is to Fitzgerald s own life. It is echoing Fitzgerald s difficulties with his wife
Zelda. It also depicts the damaging effects of having

The Role of Fate in Macbeth
Fate has sundry meanings. One of the meanings of fate: power that predetermines events. Destiny s
definition suggests that events will occur and do not change. Whatever unravels in life cannot
change by mankind. The statement has undivulged meanings; fate has the opportunity to change if
the person wants events to end differently. However, wrong decisions will only seal fate. In
Shakespeare s Macbeth, The fate becomes confirmed through Lady Macbeth wanting more power,
Macbeth s inner conflict, and the three witches tricking Macbeth and leading him to his demise.
The witches give Macbeth prophecies that come true; but do not always work out right. The

Game 4 Of The Western Conference Finals

The drive from Chicago to Arlington Heights was almost an hour long. The whole time in the car I

Materials and manipulatives are spread along the outside walls of the classroom and children
are free to choose which type of materials they would like to work with during independent work

tables and chairs grouped together. The furniture is all child size and you do not see any adult
sized furniture throughout the classroom. Students spend most of their time working on the floor
where they have their own individual carpets. They put them down to outline their personal
workspace. Instead of there being various toys and games spread through out the classroom, there
are specific sensory materials and manipulatives that are self correcting and purposeful to student

that is not typical of traditional classrooms. The Head Start program I visited uses a more
traditional comprehensive method. Students are all close to the same age. Since the program is
federally funded there is much emphasis put on performance standards and teaching objectives. The
classrooms at Head Start are a center based classroom with different areas for pretend play, math

Neurological Amnesia
Amnesia can occur depending on the type and on the cause of amnesia. When the brain is injured,
it can interfere with memories because it damages the brain structure that forms the limbic which
is what controls the emotions and memories. This can affect many lives because the person could
forget a distant relative to a family member as well as it might cause mood swings from being
depressed into angry. There is amnesia called neurological amnesia. Neurological amnesia is when
the braingets damaged somehow and what will happen is memory s might get erased or lost.

Occupational therapy might help is because it could help learn new information in where the
memory had disappeared from. Occupational therapy could also allow you to get better memory
because of the games which could help memorizing new things and understanding of extended

thing you had to do day by day and can help the patient with amnesia remember your reminders
for example, taking medications. As of right now there is not a medication for most of the
amnesia s considering that there are many amnesia s.But the person can be always be supported
for example, the friend or family can talk to him about how he feels getting the person what he
needs also staying with him. If the person with amnesia has permanent for maybe a little less
severe some organizations might help him out. There are some prevention s of amnesia, avoid
alcohol because of the affects of it on the memory part of your brain, some amnesia s happen
because of concussions and concussions happen from hitting your head on the ground so you
should wear helmets when biking or playing a sport for example, football or hockey. Finally if a

A hurricane is a tropical cyclone, with winds that reaches over 74 miles per hour. In the Southern
Hemisphere a hurricane circulates clockwise, and in the Northern Hemisphere it circulates
counterclockwise. Hurricanes usually occur during the summer and fall seasons because that is
when the water temperature is at its warmest. There are various stages that a hurricane goes
through to become one and there are also various ways to track down a hurricane too.
The first stage of a hurricane is called a tropical disturbance. The wind speed is less than twenty five
miles per hour, with a slight open circulation going on. The tropical disturbance consists of clouds,
showers, and thunderstorms, which remain intact for twenty four hours or more. ... Show more

The eye is located in the center of the hurricane. An eye wall surrounds the eye, and is the most
intense region of rainfall and winds. Hurricanes are the Earth s strongest tropical cyclones, which
can cause a significant amount of damage. It is rated according to their wind speed on the Saffir
Simpson scale. The ranges of the scale go from one to five, with one being the weakest and five
being the strongest. When the hurricane reaches to cooler land or water, it rapidly loses its intensity.
There are many different ways to track down a hurricane and one of the ways is by a satellite. In
1960, the United States sent the first satellite to monitor the weather conditions. Technology made
launching and developing the satellite easier to track down hurricanes. Before it was hard for
meteorologist to track down hurricanes when they didn t have the technology to do so. Satellites
are constantly taking photos. These photos can help meteorologist gather information by putting
the several hours of the pictures together and predict where the hurricane is heading.
The Doppler radar is another way that meteorologist can track down a hurricane. The Doppler
radar can detect rain that is associated with the tropical cyclones. It is 200 to 250 mile distance
radar coverage. The radar estimates the amount of rain that has fallen, and it estimates the

Essay on Global Warming
The Earth receives energy, light and warmth from the sun. As the earth and the objects on earth
become warm, they radiate their warmth back toward space in the form of infrared energy.
However, there are gases known as trace gases that make up less than 1% of Earth s atmosphere
which are able to trap some of the outgoing heat. Water vapor is vastly abundant in the atmosphere
and generates a blanketing effect that keeps the surface of the earth at a temperature that allows
life to exist. In addition to water vapor, carbon dioxideis another trace gas that is naturally present
in the atmosphere. It s powerful heat trapping capabilities are essential for life and in processes
such as respiration and photosynthesis. Carbon dioxide levels are... Show more content on

Climate changes once occurred naturally but during this revolution we began altering our
environment through changing agricultural and industrial practices. The major fuels used at the
time included coal, oil, petroleum, and natural gas which all are carbon rich and when burned the
carbon combines with oxygen in the air producing carbon dioxide. These are commonly referred
to as fossil fuels which are composed of the fossilized remains of vegetation and animals that
decayed millions of years ago. Due to this Industrial Revolution that sparked the use of these
contaminating fuels the carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere have increased from 280 to 365
parts per million. Before the Industrial Revolution, human activity released very few gases in the
atmosphere but now through population growth, fossil fuel burning, and deforestation, we re
affecting the mixture of gases. Fossil fuels were formed hundreds of millions of years ago from
the fossilized remains of plants and animals which are of limited amount now. During the
industrial revolution, coal burning factories contributed a significant amount of CO2 to Earth s
atmosphere where oil and natural gas were used to produce electricity, heat homes and factories,
and used for multiple forms of transportation. Power plants are the single largest source of CO2
and each year, 7 billion tons of carbon are released which reacts with

deals available at the moment. One of my co workers came over to me and said that my manager

Hamlet’s Astounding Success Essay
Hamlet s Astounding Success
What secret formula did the playwright William Shakespeare use in the recipe for the tragedy
Hamlet? Why, this play has been the rage for 400 years! Let s analyze the reasons for its success.
A.C. Bradley tells in his book of criticism, Shakespearean Tragedy, the extreme importance of the
character of Hamlet to the rating of the play:
Naturally then, the tragedy of Hamlet with Hamlet left out has become the symbol of extreme
absurdity; while the character itself has probably exerted a great fascination, and certainly has been
the subject of more discussion, than any other in the whole literature of the world. (94)

There is no more exalted ranking than the above. Richard A. Lanham in the essay Superposed Plays
maintains that no other English tragedy has generated the literary comment which this play has
produced: Hamlet is one of the great tragedies. It has generated more comment than any other
written document in English literature, one would guess, reverent, serious comment on it as a
serious play (91). Robert B. Heilman in The Role We Give Shakespeare relates the high ranking of
Shakespeare to the innumerableness of the parts :
But the Shakespeare completeness appears graspable and possessable to many men at odds with
each other, because of the innumerableness of the parts: these parts we may consider
incompletenesses, partial perspectives, and as such they correspond to the imperfect (but not
necessarily invalid) modes of seeing and understanding [. . .] . (10)
Indeed, the reader finds a wide variety of parts from beginning to end of Hamlet. This is seen in
the fact of over 20 characters with speaking roles; and in their variety of occupations from king to
grave digger; and in the 20 different scene changes; and in the differentiation

Disadvantages Of Wireless Networks
Technology is constantly advancing, which causes a need for mobile and wireless networks.
However, the creation of mobile and wireless networks causes a need to increase security
protocols and measures. Cell phones are now being used for sensitive work information, as well
as laptops. Many people have the capability of working from home by using laptops issued by
their employers. Using a home or public network is not always safe, it does not have the security
and systems to monitor the network and access. Before any work is done on these devices the
proper security needs to be in place such as firewalls, pop up blockers, and private network
connections. However, there are both advantages and disadvantages to the use of wireless
networking and what is will be like in the future. To start, a wireless networkor Wi Fiis a technology
that allows electronic devices to exchange data or connect to the Internet through wireless

Introduction
Gregor Johann Mendel, the father of genetics, was born in 1822. He was a priest and scientist who
became famous for his work and studies on the inheritance patterns using pea plants. Gregor Mendel
used pea plants known as Pisumsativum in his research where he developed two fundamental laws
of genetics known today as the Law of segregation , and the Law of independent assortment (Hartl,
1992). The Law of segregation states that when an individual produces a gamete, the copies of a
given gene separate in which each gamete receives only one copy of that gene. The phenotypic

One of the most important Brassica rapa features is that many generations can be grown in a short
period of time for experimental analysis and comparison(Tsunoda, 1980).Brassica rapaplants are
involved in many research works recently in which they are crossed with other crops to modify
their genetic fitness(Tompkins, 1990). The Chi Square ( ) test was used in this experiment to
determine whether the statistical data supports or rejects the hypothesis.
Materials and Methods The experiment was successfully accomplished in classroom where the
Brassica Rapa were grown under suitable conditions. The experiment began by developing a
watering system to the plants using the idea of capillary action. The watering system was made
up of a plastic reservoir filled with a certain amount of water and a water mat placed on the top
of the plastic reservoir. This design was helpful in making sure that the plants are receiving
water constantly. Also, one piece of copper sulfate was addedinto the reservoir to avoid any algal
growth. Two Styrofoam quads with four cells each were used for planting the seeds of Brassica
Rapa. The cells were numbered from one to eight and a wick was placed in each cell in a way that
allowed water access from the water mat through the capillary action. Each cell was then half way
filled with soil and two fertilizers were placed in

The Dangers Encountered by the Orcinus Orca
The dangers encountered by the Orcinus orca
Extinction means having no living representatives, having died out (Dictionary.Com). We re
currently experiencing the worst spate of species die offs since the loss of the dinosaurs 65
million years ago (Center for Biological Diversity). Among all the species, there are still animals
that have a hope of living the next generation. Despite being threatened they are not endangered.
The orca whale, commonly known as the killer whale is a prime example. To date approximately
50,000 orca populations thrive though out the world. Previously the world wide estimate was
double that, at 100,000 (Kirby). It has been found in resent studies that the orca population is
decreasing due to many hardships they face such as toxins, captivity, and depletion of food.
To date the killer whale is considered in the group of most successful predator. Not only
throughout the world, but definably in the oceanic world; Pods, the family of orca, range from
20 to 200 members (NOAA Fisheries). Seen inhabiting all oceans of the world, orca whales dwell
from the cold water upwelling s of the Artic to the warm waters of Hawaii. In 1964 the area,

You never kill anyone you want to kill in a war (Hemingway 163). Robert Jordan has no desire

how loyal he was through Maria. I love the Maria and no one has done anything to thee. Thee

Social Dating is a Modern Phenomenon in our Society
Most people, especially teenagers, are influenced by their peers, parents and social media.
Whether it is what is in style or what the kids are doing these days, it seems like everyone is

Many times we see the unpopular girls at school trying to go out with a popular guy in order to
gain a higher social status. We have exchanged the survival of the fittest view of acquiring a mate
in order to have a higher survival rate for the higher social status acquired from dating someone
popular.
Our daily lives are bombarded with pop culture and societal pressure of many sorts. This pressure
may come in various forms such as peer pressure, or even as simple as television shows or ads. It
is unusual that a high school or even a middle school student is unaware of what happens during a
date. Many of these students have even attended a date or have carried a relationship with someone
intimately. Their idea of a relationship is making out, and putting out. Engaging in sexual
intercourse before marriage almost never came up before in the era before dating, but what has
changed in today s culture that has made this topic bearable in recent times? Steven E. Roahds
argues that, The collegiate women are available because most of the women s movement has
insisted that sexual liberation is an important part of women s liberation and because the Pill
seemed to make sexual liberation costless (515). In this example we see that Roahds claims that
the social influences of women activists has swayed today s society into being immune to the taboo
that sexual intercourse had on the general public long ago with The Pill (515).

Cache And Various Mapping Technique
Abstract This paper begins with the discussion about cache and various mapping technique. Then
we shift our focus on compressed caching which is the technique that tries to decrease paging
request from secondary storage. We know that there is a big performance gap in accessing the
primary memory (RAM) and secondary storage (Disk). The Compressed caching technique
intercepts the pages to be swapped out, compresses them and stores them in pool allocated in
RAM. Hence it tries to fill the performance gap by adding new level to virtual memoryhierarchy.
This paper analyze the performance of virtual memory compression. Further to avoid various
categories of cachemisses we discuss different types of cache technique to achieve higher
performance. Lastly we discuss few open and challenging issues faced in various cache optimization
techniques.

Basically, cache is the smallest and fastest memory component in the hierarchy. It is aimed to
bridge the gap between the fastest processor to the slowest memory components at a reasonable
cost. It maintains the locality of information and support the reduction of average access time. The
address mapping converts physical address to the cache address. But when it comes to virtual
memory systems, swapping turns out to be the greatest factor for reduce in performance. Disk

Analysis Of Bound From Either Side By Rachel Stone
With the patriarchy existing for thousands of years, one can only assume that it has been rocked
more than a few times. But could it be in the ninth century regarding marriage? Rachel Stone argues
in her article that no, it can not be. That even when the patriarchy seemed to be shaken up, the
power still remained with the men.
This paper will provide a brief summarization and a review of the article, Bound from Either Side :
The Limits of Power in Carolingian Marriage Disputes, To 840 870, authored by Rachel Stone.
The paper will show that Stone s thesis of her article proved to be executed well and proved by
gathering four primary accounts from the 9th century.
The article, Bound from Either Side : The Limits of Power in Carolingian Marriage Disputes, To
840 870, written by Rachel Stone, provides readers with an insight on how the majority of
marriages disputes in the 9th century were often won by the man because of the patriarchal basis of
Carolingian society. Even when the men seemed to be in a fragile state, Stone found that even with
a man having a restriction on his power within society and within the marriage, the masculinity of
the men was not questioned and they continued to remain at the top of the gender order.
Stone provides four excellent primary sources that provide back up to the thesis. The sources are of
four accounts of marriage disputes in the ninth century Francia. These accounts are of four
noblemen. All the of the noblemen Stone sources were affected by Carolingian reforming measures
on consanguineous marriage, divorce and raptus (abduction).
Looking at a brief summary of the cases; the first of the four is from Falcric, a vassus of Lothar
I. His wife entered a convent and he then remarried. This breaches the principle of indissoluble
marriage. Hincmar, an Archbishop of Rheims excommunicated him for this. Meaning that Falcric
could not partake in sacraments and services of the Christian Church. Falcric appealed to the
Pope, claiming that he was not actually married to his first wife, but she was just his concubine, a
woman that lives with a man but is of a lower status than his wife. Hincmar was forced by the
pope the accept the marriage and was to release Falcric of his

Hercules As A Youthful Hercules
Standing eight feet tall in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is a marble statue known as a youthful
Hercules. Sculpted during the Early Imperial period, with several restorations made in the 17th
century, this Roman masterpiece dominates the room with its godlike essence. Chiseled with great
detail, Hercules is holding a skinned lion in his left hand while his right hand is gripping a club
behind his back. The statue stands with confidence and empowerment, capturing the moment right
after Hercules skinned the Nemean beast, transporting the viewer directly to the scene, while at the
same time also demonstrating Hercules emotional state. Upon examining the amalgam of Hercules
qualities such as his physical characteristics, pose, and expression, the sculptureleaves the viewer
with the impression that Hercules is the epitome of the ideal man.
Originally inspired by Greek Myth, Hercules was sent on an impossible task to kill a Nemean Lion.
After figuring out his bat was useless, he then proceeded to strangle the lion to death with his bare
hands, and then skinning the dead beast. In the sculpture, Hercules weight is shifted towards the
tree trunk which Romans used to support their sculptures, and the club swings behind his right arm.
By having the club swing behind him, it emphasizes Hercules masculinity by highlighting the fact
that Hercules, with his bare hands, was able to defy the seemingly impossible and kill the beast all
on his own without help from weaponry.

The Effect Of Emulsion Polymerization Technology On Large...
Monodisperse sub 200nm polystyrene nanoparticles were synthesized by a facile one step emulsion
polymerization technology using sodium dodecyl sulfonate (SDS) and 2, 2′ azobis (2
methylpropionamide) dihydrochloride (AIBA) as the surfactant and initiator, respectively. The in
situ neutralization between negatively charged surfactantSDS and positively charged AIBA was
used to control the primary particle (or swollen micelle) volume and the extent of the particle
coagulation. As the oligomeric radicals with cationic AIBA chain ends were captured by anionic
swollen micelles, the electrostatic stability of swollen micelles gradually reduced, further
promoting the primary particle coagulation. As a result, the initial particle number decreased with
the addition of AIBA. The earlier primary particle coagulation not only enlarged the particle size,
but also narrowed the particle size distribution of the final latex particles. This approach was easy
to scale up as a facile industrial technology to produce monodisperse polymeric nanoparticles on
large scale.

The Theme Of Sublime Nature In Frankenstein By Mary Shelley
In the novella Frankenstein, Mary Shelley uses geography to further the plot, reveal the true
intentions of characters and convey the novella s theme of sublime nature. The theme of sublime
nature is the idea that nature is comprised of a mixture of terror and beauty. One example of
sublime nature supported by geography is the monster, which is truly a terror in appearance and
spirit being born in Ingolstadt. Shelly contrasts this terror of Ingolstadt to the beauty of Geneva,
Frankensteins birthplace. Once the fruit of Frankenstein s labor comes to fruition and the horrific
monster is born, even Frankenstein himself is unable to endure the aspect of the being and attempts

when spring begins and the monster is felt [the] emotions of gentleness and pleasure in the sunshine
and the balminess of the air but then realized that he was still lonely and quickly became bitter
(Shelley 246). The vengeance which the monster wishes upon Frankenstein is a manifestation of an
eternal fury that the monster has as a result of the loneliness that Frankenstein has imposed upon
him.
The theme of sublime nature is perpetuated by Shelley s incorporation of violence in locations with
beautiful lake and mountain views. As Frankenstein takes a tour of a mountain and glacier he sees
sublime nature in the form of the pallid lightning that played above Mont Blanc, showing that
terrors such as lightning already exist within the domain of the beautiful mountainside (Shelley
167). Shelley uses this ominous mood to foreshadow Frankenstein s future encounter with another
herald of terror, the monster. Not long after Frankenstein sees an object in the distance and
suddenly, A flash of lightning illuminated the object, the

The Comparison Of Godot, By James Beckett
There is a vast literature on interpretations of Godot, encompassing Christian and anti Christian
religion, Freudian and Jungian psychology, and a kitchen sinkful of esoteric and obscure isms. The
undeniable fact is that no one really knows what Godot is about, and the playwright himself clearly
believed that the core of his art lay in the ambiguities resulting from the absence of information,
saying that everything he knew about the characters was in the text and if he knew anything more
about the characters then he would have put it in the text. That Godot is more hole than doughnut
has made it an easy target of parody if not outright ridicule. Beckett evolved his unique literary
voice by distinguishing his style from that of his mentor James Joyce, whom he assisted during the
writing of Finnegans Wake. In almost exactly the opposite way, Joyce grounded his art in
fanatically perfectionist control of his work, leaving no missing pieces or rough edges in stuffing
his characters full to overflowing so that we the readers know more about them than they could
possibly know about themselves.
By far the best biography of Beckett, in my opinion, is by James Knowlson of the University of
Reading, whose 20 year friendship with the playwright led to the donation of notebooks,
manuscripts and other archival material that became the world s leading Beckett archive. Knowlson
s title taken from a passage in Beckett s notebooks is Damned to Fame, neatly encapsulating the

My research will be conducted through autoethnography, since it aims to investigate my personal
experience while immersed in the land, and create a narrative generated through photographic texts.

from both the land and the photographer, they mirror this moment when this both actors became
united. It shows both the eye of the photographer and all his studium , while present also the eyes
of the land, looking at me.
The exposition of this personal experience extend our understand about creative practices and the

Practice led researcher in the field of Art Design usually requires practitioners to analyse their
creative practice and to investigate the processes that are research components and the responsable
elements that helps to flourish new knowledge. This brings ethnography to the spotlight, and Pace
(2012, p.2) states that gaining momentum as a research method within the creative and performing
arts, partly because of the opportunity it provides for writers, artists, performers and others to
reflect critically upon their personal and professional creative experiences.
Landspace and authoethnography
This research seeks to discover a personal experience, a unique relationship between the researcher s
self and land codified in an image, presented through an evocative authoethnographic photowriting
narrative . It is concerned with an evocative form of the methodology because it focuses with the
photographers experience in the land, and according to evocative autoethnography aims toward
researchers introspection on a particular topic to allow readers to make a connection with the
researchers feelings and experiences.
It asks the potential of photographs to represent a bond between the photographer s self and the
land with photographic texts that

Bruce Dawe Poem Themes
Bruce Dawe, a well known Australian poet, writes about a variety of topics, including death,
suicide, cruelty and apathy of society, destruction of the environment, prejudice and the
senselessness of war. Dawe uses vivid visual and aural poetic techniques to express his emotions
towards the theme of the poem. This helps the reader grasp a better understanding of what Dawe
is writing about. The poems being discussed are his poem Life Cycle which describes the life of
being like an AFL player; the poem Soliloquy for One Dead known as a very emotive poem,
which deals with the thought of loss and the feeling of grief and lastly, Planning a Time Capsule
discussing the views Dawe has on what humans are doing to the environment. The poem Life...

Dawe outlines the possessions that today s society considers valuable and makes distinctions to
the aspects of nature, that if he could save he would. This is shown in the poem when he writes,
a dirty needle and a rip top can/ pebbled glass from a windscreen. This means society doesn t
show enough care towards the environment as humans leave litter around. When Dawe states A
pamphlet proving pornography is love , this has an impact on the reader because it makes
people realise drugs and worthless sex are issues that today s society is having. Dawe suggests in
this poem that society is raping nature s finest features. As written in the final stanza of this poem

The Achievements Of A Hero In Gilgamesh And The Odyssey
In Gilgamesh and The Odyssey, the authors describe the achievements of a hero during a
particular period of time. Despite being written thousands of years apart, Homer presented the
importance of perseverance and loyalty because he wanted to show how strong willed people are
in returning home safely to stay with their loved ones. Both Gilgamesh and Odysseus developed a
strong desire to search for the true meaning of life because it arouses their curiosity. These stories
focuses primarily on the protagonists going through the transition to maturity due to a series of
events. The literary techniques that both authors used reveals two separate intentions and different
conclusions. While Mitchell uses symbolism to show how Gilgamesh evolve into a true epic
hero, Homer uses imagery to portray how Odysseus changes for the better during his journey. One
similarity between the books is that both characters are extremely prideful. The arrival of Endiku
had a major impact on Gilgamesh because he never saw anyone who was as strong as him. From
the moment they became friends, Gilgamesh always had an urge to go on adventures with him
because he wanted to test his strength and loyalty. One day, Gilgamesh points out that, Now we
must travel to the Cedar Forest, where the fierce monster Humbabalives. We must kill him and drive
out evil from the world. (Mitchell, pg.91). Endiku responds with disagreement because he argued
that they stand no chance against the strong and fearless

Putting a 21st Century Twist on the Past
In this essay I will argue that my practice is contemporary by showing 21st century influences. I
will do this by discussion of themes and practices of other artists that I am interested in, evaluating
the issues they address. In particular Francis Alys, George Shaw and Social Realism.
I first realised my interest in manual labour, menial jobs and cycle of working, when I was
travelling, and this influenced my work. Whilst visiting the Yves Saint Laurent gardens in
Marrakech there was an employee of the gardens sweeping the flower petals into his grasp, whilst
more constantly fell. This time consuming action initially interested me as absurd, however after
further dwelling I considered the action more of a metaphor for the idea of working ... Show more

From taking the outsider role he was able to see situations differently than if he was part of
them. I feel the same within my practice; I am a keen observer of people and always find my
most inspired and passionate ideas originate from just watching a situation. In Placing Pillows
Alys uses his role of observer to his advantage. He can see the lack of repair and action after the
1985 Mexico City earthquake. He reacts to by placing pillows within the broken windows. He is
able to use such a simple thing that becomes such a strong and political statement.
In the world today we are subjected to roles and expectations, we are all expected to mature and
earn a living, when this doesn t happen it is frowned upon. For example not having a career or a
consistent income is thought to be out of the ordinary almost not conforming lesser you as a
person. An enthusiast for symbols and allegories, Alyss casts the world in a lighthearted way
where it is easy for the audience to appreciate what is being said. Paradox of Praxis 1 (Sometimes
Doing Something Leads to Nothing) where he pushes a block of ice around Mexico City taking
no steps to stop it from melting to a pool of water pulls similarities to the myth of Sisyphus, a Greek
mythological figure punished for the rest of his life to push a bolder up a hill only for it to fall

Head Start Program Essay
After, reading Morrison s chapter on implementing Early Childhood programs I have a better
understanding of the many programs that are offered. All programs promote child development
and learning and focus on effective approaches to connect with children and families. One of the
programs that I have heard mostly about is Head Start. I would like to work in a Head start program
because of the impact it has on children s development, and after reading about it I know have more
understanding on the program. Head start focuses on parent involvement because research has
showed that the more parents become involve in their children s early childhoodeducation the better
they will do in school. Head start programs requires the use of research based practices to support
the growth of children s pre literacy and vocabulary skills. I am very interested in working and
implementing the different domains the program focuses on (Morrison, 2017, p. 127 128). Another
program that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Approaches to Learning, Creative Art Expression, Social Emotional Development, Physical
Development Health, Social Studies Knowledge Skills, Science and Knowledge Skills, and
Mathematics Knowledge Skills. Logic and reasoning is one of my favorite domains because it
challenges children to do problem solving and reasoning for example, memory games help children
with logic and reasoning. These types of games are a great way to challenge students to think before
making selections. Another domain that is very interesting is Literacy Knowledge Skills in which
they implement phonological awareness, book appreciation, alphabet knowledge and early writing
(Morrison, 2017, p.128). Teaching children to appreciate books and teaching them that books have
meaning is something very important to

Computer Programming Student Analysis
In my years spent in high school, my favorite class has been computer programming. I took the
class as a sophomore without any previous coding experience. Starting out, I struggled with the
basic concepts and fell behind on projects. I relied heavily on help from my teacher and my
friends, and I even considered dropping the class. Faced with the decision at the semester,
however, I decided to keep trying. As the second semester progressed, I gained greater
understanding of the basics of coding. I became the person that others could receive help from
rather than the one asking for help. By the final quarter of the school year, I was able to code with
speed and accuracy. I was fortunate to win the ComputerProgramming Student of the Year award...

participating in both sports with non mandatory winter conditioning for all four years. I have been
participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, and Scrabble Club, and
I have held office positions in Student Council for three years. Additionally, I invest a large
portion of my time in my church, Victory Christian Church, where I play bass guitar in the
worship band. Through the church, I ve been involved with several service organizations in the
community such as Discover Downtown Franklin, Camp Allendale, and the Interchurch Food
Pantry. I have held various positions while in high school, most notably as a manager at a local
family amusement center at 16 years old. I have been involved with entrepreneurial pursuits selling
candy for profit at school and starting my own tutoring business. Despite all of my activities, I
have maintained a 4.45 GPA and have been a member of the A Honor Roll throughout high school.

  • 3. Character Analysis Of Sir Andrew Aguecheek Twelfth Night is one of the greatest plays to date because of its hilarious characters and plot. It gives the readers a fun and festive theme and it is no secret that Sir Andrew Aguecheek is one of the most comedic characters in the play. Andrew is described as a foolish night who is a wimp and coward. He is good friends with Sir Toby Belch, a drunken knight who takes up residence at the Countess s house who s described as a heavy drinker. Andrew adds to the fun in Twelfth Night due to recurring reasons. His low intelligence, his relationship with the ladies and his appearance. These reasons help add humourand fun to the play while also making Sir Andrew s character particularly comedic One of the major flaws of Sir Andrew Aguecheeks is his low intelligence. This is because he often gets him in dangerous situations that are planned by his friend Sir Toby. Toby sees Andrew as an easy target to plan a trick on and describes him as if he were opened and you/ find so much blood in his liver as will clog the foot of a/ flea. (3.2.55 77) The trick played on Sir Andrew results in him getting hurt and beaten. This adds to a con argument as Sir Andrew s lack of intelligence gets him in a situation where he unexpectedly gets in trouble resulting in mass confusion. However, Sir Andrew s foolishness helps add to the festive spirit in Twelfth Night. Andrew s misunderstanding of Illyria results in a lot of humor as he navigates through the situations he faces in the play. A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Down in front of the stage, in what is called the pit, is an orchestra and a conductor. As the orchestra plays, the actors on stage do not speak their lines they sing them! Opera is the combination of drama and music. Like drama, opera embraces the entire spectrum of theatrical elements: dialogue, acting, costumes, scenery and action, but it is the sum of all these elements, combined with music, which defines the art form called opera. Operatic dramas are usually serious, but there are several comic operas and funny scenes in tragic operas. The music is usually complicated and difficult to sing well. Only the most skillful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jean Philippe Rameau, George Frederic Handel, and Christoph Willibald Gluck were the most significant opera composers of the first two thirds of the 18th century. However, their works were surpassed by the brilliant operas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the early 19th century, Gioacchino Rossini and Gaetano Donizetti dominated Italian opera. In the later 19th century the greatest works were those of Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner. Wagner, with his bold innovations, became the most influential operatic figure since Monteverdi. Richard Strauss and Giacomo Puccini wrote the most popular late 19th and early 20th century operas. Though the death of Puccini in 1924 is often cited as the end of grand opera, new and often experimental works by composers such as Alban Berg, Benjamin Britten, Gian Carlo Menotti, John Adams, and Philip Glass continued to be produced to critical acclaim. Opera entered the 21st century as a vibrant and global art form. The first roots of modern opera first appeared in Italy in the 17th century from the Camerata (an academy of Florentine poets, musicians, and scholars). The Camerata, inspired by ancient Greek drama, sung dialogues and choruses which were accompanied by musical instruments. The Camerata developed the stile recitative, in order to integrate drama, action, dialogue and narration. In this sung speech, a singer delivered a recitative melody with an actor s dramatic and oratorical skills, achieving the goal of providing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

By using antigen concentration to deduce the path of infection, the body s immune system may try to fight off the antigen invader. Therefore, a limitation may be that the results are a little skewed as some of the antigens may have been killed by the body s defense. Also, each person is different, so the body s response to these foreign objects would have varied. Generally, both parties believe their exchanges are the same amount of cash flows. The most common swaps are interest rate swap and currency swap. The transaction needs a dealer to realise and dealers get the profits from transaction cost and the bid ask spread of the cash flows. Take interest rate swap as an example, the hedgers may wish to have a certain fixed interest payment for their loans. By contrast, the speculators are more willing to take a floating interest payment either they have the same amount of loan or not. The dealer combine these two counterparties together and create the swap for the exchange of fixed interest rate and floating interest rate (Simons Horward, 2003). To the interest payment data, the hedger pays the fixed interests to the speculator and received the floating interests according to the dealer. Then they pay the floating interests to the cash market. In this case, they only pay the fixed interest rate as agreed before and eliminate the risk of interest rate uncertainty. For the speculators, they pay the floating interests and receive the fixed interests. If the floating interest rate is greater than the fixed one, then they suffer a loss, otherwise they get the profits. All of these formal elements have equally important consequence on a story. The setting of a story has direct correlations to the way that the reader consumes the meaning of the story. The setting in Young Goodman Brown allows its author, Nathaniel Hawthorne, to leave the endingambiguous, without closure. The reader is constantly expected to decide for themselves truth. The most haunted town in America at the time of publication was Salem, Massachusetts. It wasn t by coincidence that Hawthorne chose Salem as the setting for his ghost story; he had family ties to the very events which made Salem infamous. So he sets the story in a forest outside the town of witches still inhabited by devilish Indians. The forest is an important part of the setting as well. The forest in those days seemed vast and endless and much of it remained unexplored and foreign. Safety was achieved by living in communities. Those who chose to wander into the forest oftentimes never returned. The early Americans did not trust the Native Americans or their ancient religions and practices. The settlers believed them to be the devils servants. In this setting no illusion is beyond the devils control. Without his faith, Goodman Brown is helpless to resist the wickedness of the devil.. Hawthorne alludes to devil s magic by comparing his own staff as the very one the Egyptian magicians transformed to a serpent. A witch who lost her broomstick appears along the path. Her identity: the old lady who taught young Goodman Brown his catechism. Goodman Brown sees the evil in everyone because as he journeys farther along the path with the devil the devil reveals members of his fraternity. Such a laboured birth of his fourth novel had never been the writer s original intention (Blazek, 1). The experiment began by developing a watering system to the plants using the idea of capillary action. The watering system was made up of a plastic reservoir filled with a certain amount of water and a water mat placed on the top of the plastic reservoir. This design was helpful in making sure that the plants are receiving water constantly. Also, one piece of copper sulfate was addedinto the reservoir to avoid any algal growth. Two Styrofoam quads with four cells each were used for planting the seeds of Brassica Rapa. Then we shift our focus on compressed caching which is the technique that tries to decrease paging request from secondary storage. We know that there is a big performance gap in accessing the primary memory (RAM) and secondary storage (Disk). The Compressed caching technique intercepts the pages to be swapped out, compresses them and stores them in pool allocated in RAM. Hence it tries to fill the performance gap by adding new level to virtual memoryhierarchy. This paper analyze the performance of virtual memory compression. Further to avoid various categories of cachemisses we discuss different types of cache technique to achieve higher performance. Lastly we discuss few open and challenging issues faced in various cache optimization techniques. Keywords Cache mapping technique, Cache optimization, Virtual Memory, Zswap, Zbud , LZO, Frontwrap I. It is aimed to bridge the gap between the fastest processor to the slowest memory components at a reasonable cost. It maintains the locality of information and support the reduction of average access time. The address mapping converts physical address to the cache address. But could it be in the ninth century regarding marriage? Rachel Stone argues in her article that no, it can not be. That even when the patriarchy seemed to be shaken up, the power still remained with the men. This paper will provide a brief summarization and a review of the article, Bound from Either Side : The Limits of Power in Carolingian Marriage Disputes, To 840 870, authored by Rachel Stone. The paper will show that Stone s thesis of her article proved to be executed well and proved by gathering four primary accounts from the 9th century. The article, Bound from Either Side : The Limits of Power in Carolingian Marriage Disputes, To 840 870, written by Rachel Stone, provides readers with an insight on how the majority of marriages disputes in the 9th century were often won by the man because of the patriarchal basis of Carolingian society. Even when the men seemed to be in a fragile state, Stone found that even with a man having a restriction on his power within society and within the marriage, the masculinity of the men was not questioned and they continued to remain at the top of the gender order. Stone provides four excellent primary sources that provide back up to the thesis. The sources are of four accounts of marriage disputes in the ninth century Francia. These accounts are of four noblemen. All the of the noblemen Stone sources were affected by Carolingian reforming measures on consanguineous marriage, divorce and raptus (abduction). Looking at a brief summary of the cases; the first of the four is from Falcric, a vassus of Lothar I. His wife entered a convent and he then remarried. This breaches the principle of indissoluble marriage. Hincmar, an Archbishop of Rheims excommunicated him for this. Meaning that Falcric could not partake in sacraments and services of the Christian Church. Falcric appealed to the Pope, claiming that he was not actually married to his first wife, but she was just his concubine, a woman that lives with a man but is of a lower status than his wife. After figuring out his bat was useless, he then proceeded to strangle the lion to death with his bare hands, and then skinning the dead beast. • 36. Multiple Sclerosis Definition There are four different patterns of inflammation in the white matter that is associated with individuals with multiple sclerosis (Lassmann et. al. 2007).The first pattern of inflammation is associated with the demyelination caused by macrophage activity. This pattern of inflammation is characterized by perivascular demyelination with radial expansion and extensive remyelination. The second pattern of inflammationdemyelination is associated with antibodyand complement activity. The lesions exhibited in this pattern are similar to lesions that occur in the first pattern except that the active demyelination sites demonstrate additional deposition of immunoglobulin (Ig) and activated complement in pattern 2. Immunoglobulins are antibodies that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Individuals suffering from MS face continually worsening symptoms leading to progressing disability and early mortality. There is currently no cure and current treatments have negative impacts on the life of the individual receiving the treatment. The story of the discovery and understanding of the disease spans to almost two centuries of medical research and still there is much to understand. Autoimmune disorders are becoming more common in our society and it is crucial to understand the cause of these diseases and to develop better treatments. In the two centuries of research, the life expectancy of an individual with MS has increased dramatically. Upon diagnosis in the late 1800 s and early 1900 s individuals had an average life span of 10 years but today, due to advances in medical technologies, individuals with MS may live 30 years or more. More research is required to understand how to better treat this disease or prevent the initial autoimmune response from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Effect Of Emulsion Polymerization Technology On Large... Monodisperse sub 200nm polystyrene nanoparticles were synthesized by a facile one step emulsion polymerization technology using sodium dodecyl sulfonate (SDS) and 2, 2′ azobis (2 methylpropionamide) dihydrochloride (AIBA) as the surfactant and initiator, respectively. The in situ neutralization between negatively charged surfactantSDS and positively charged AIBA was used to control the primary particle (or swollen micelle) volume and the extent of the particle coagulation. As the oligomeric radicals with cationic AIBA chain ends were captured by anionic swollen micelles, the electrostatic stability of swollen micelles gradually reduced, further promoting the primary particle coagulation. As a result, the initial particle number decreased with the addition of AIBA. The earlier primary particle coagulation not only enlarged the particle size, but also narrowed the particle size distribution of the final latex particles. This approach was easy to scale up as a facile industrial technology to produce monodisperse polymeric nanoparticles on large scale. Keywords: Emulsion polymerization; Nanoparticle; Monodisperse; Particle coagulation; AIBA 1.Introduction Emulsion polymerization technology is widely applied in many fields including synthetic rubber, thermoplastics, coating, adhesive, and plastic modifier [1 4]. Much of the interest in it derives from the possibilities for the preparation of monodisperse or functional latex particles [5,6]. Until today, the challenges ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. The Theme Of Sublime Nature In Frankenstein By Mary Shelley In the novella Frankenstein, Mary Shelley uses geography to further the plot, reveal the true intentions of characters and convey the novella s theme of sublime nature. The theme of sublime nature is the idea that nature is comprised of a mixture of terror and beauty. One example of sublime nature supported by geography is the monster, which is truly a terror in appearance and spirit being born in Ingolstadt. Shelly contrasts this terror of Ingolstadt to the beauty of Geneva, Frankensteins birthplace. Once the fruit of Frankenstein s labor comes to fruition and the horrific monster is born, even Frankenstein himself is unable to endure the aspect of the being and attempts to cast it away and forget it (Shelley 101). The apparent... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These events are meant to show that terror in the form of the monster has survived in the beauty of nature, setting out on a journey to achieve spiritual peace. However, the monster, who has traveled Europe in search of Geneva, in fact seeks and is surrounded by the peace it can never have, as the terror which resides inside of the monster s soul will not allow it. One such case occurs when spring begins and the monster is felt [the] emotions of gentleness and pleasure in the sunshine and the balminess of the air but then realized that he was still lonely and quickly became bitter (Shelley 246). The vengeance which the monster wishes upon Frankenstein is a manifestation of an eternal fury that the monster has as a result of the loneliness that Frankenstein has imposed upon him. The theme of sublime nature is perpetuated by Shelley s incorporation of violence in locations with beautiful lake and mountain views. As Frankenstein takes a tour of a mountain and glacier he sees sublime nature in the form of the pallid lightning that played above Mont Blanc, showing that terrors such as lightning already exist within the domain of the beautiful mountainside (Shelley 167). Shelley uses this ominous mood to foreshadow Frankenstein s future encounter with another herald of terror, the monster. Not long after Frankenstein sees an object in the distance and suddenly, A flash of lightning illuminated the object, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. The Comparison Of Godot, By James Beckett There is a vast literature on interpretations of Godot, encompassing Christian and anti Christian religion, Freudian and Jungian psychology, and a kitchen sinkful of esoteric and obscure isms. The undeniable fact is that no one really knows what Godot is about, and the playwright himself clearly believed that the core of his art lay in the ambiguities resulting from the absence of information, saying that everything he knew about the characters was in the text and if he knew anything more about the characters then he would have put it in the text. That Godot is more hole than doughnut has made it an easy target of parody if not outright ridicule. Beckett evolved his unique literary voice by distinguishing his style from that of his mentor James Joyce, whom he assisted during the writing of Finnegans Wake. In almost exactly the opposite way, Joyce grounded his art in fanatically perfectionist control of his work, leaving no missing pieces or rough edges in stuffing his characters full to overflowing so that we the readers know more about them than they could possibly know about themselves. By far the best biography of Beckett, in my opinion, is by James Knowlson of the University of Reading, whose 20 year friendship with the playwright led to the donation of notebooks, manuscripts and other archival material that became the world s leading Beckett archive. Knowlson s title taken from a passage in Beckett s notebooks is Damned to Fame, neatly encapsulating the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bruce Dawe Poem Themes Bruce Dawe, a well known Australian poet, writes about a variety of topics, including death, suicide, cruelty and apathy of society, destruction of the environment, prejudice and the senselessness of war. Dawe uses vivid visual and aural poetic techniques to express his emotions towards the theme of the poem. This helps the reader grasp a better understanding of what Dawe is writing about. The poems being discussed are his poem Life Cycle which describes the life of being like an AFL player; the poem Soliloquy for One Dead known as a very emotive poem, which deals with the thought of loss and the feeling of grief and lastly, Planning a Time Capsule discussing the views Dawe has on what humans are doing to the environment. • 42. The Achievements Of A Hero In Gilgamesh And The Odyssey In Gilgamesh and The Odyssey, the authors describe the achievements of a hero during a particular period of time. Despite being written thousands of years apart, Homer presented the importance of perseverance and loyalty because he wanted to show how strong willed people are in returning home safely to stay with their loved ones. Both Gilgamesh and Odysseus developed a strong desire to search for the true meaning of life because it arouses their curiosity. These stories focuses primarily on the protagonists going through the transition to maturity due to a series of events. The literary techniques that both authors used reveals two separate intentions and different conclusions. While Mitchell uses symbolism to show how Gilgamesh evolve into a true epic hero, Homer uses imagery to portray how Odysseus changes for the better during his journey. One similarity between the books is that both characters are extremely prideful. The arrival of Endiku had a major impact on Gilgamesh because he never saw anyone who was as strong as him. From the moment they became friends, Gilgamesh always had an urge to go on adventures with him because he wanted to test his strength and loyalty. One day, Gilgamesh points out that, Now we must travel to the Cedar Forest, where the fierce monster Humbabalives. We must kill him and drive out evil from the world. (Mitchell, pg.91). All programs promote child development and learning and focus on effective approaches to connect with children and families. One of the programs that I have heard mostly about is Head Start. I would like to work in a Head start program because of the impact it has on children s development, and after reading about it I know have more understanding on the program. Head start focuses on parent involvement because research has showed that the more parents become involve in their children s early childhoodeducation the better they will do in school. Head start programs requires the use of research based practices to support the growth of children s pre literacy and vocabulary skills.
