This newsletter summarizes activities from the Department of Computer Science for their third volume. It discusses the success of their ongoing newsletter initiative and thanks supporters. It also summarizes several events that took place, including workshops on cloud computing and Python programming, a guest lecture on IoT and Python, and the inauguration of a school science association. It highlights several chief guests and resource persons that spoke at these events. In addition, it mentions the induction of a book bank project at Anna Adarsh College and a space quiz conducted by ISRO.
Word Problems are designed to help students to learn the application of mathematical concepts, algebraic identities and formulae in the real world. Variables are assigned the values of „real-world‟ entities and a logical approach in solving them is established. They help the students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and the real world application of it by giving them hypothetical situations about the same. Probability is a measure or estimation of how likely it is that a particular event will happen. Probability concepts need to be properly understood before attempting to solve any problem related to it. In view of this a survey was conducted. Students from various schools and coaching classes were approached for the same. The study shows that majority of the students experience difficulties in identifying and understanding what exactly the word problem signifies and what approach it demands. Also, the process of learning Probability needs to be specialized given the different understanding levels of each and every student in contrast to the generalized education techniques that are being used in traditional classrooms. Keeping in mind these issues, Word Problem Solver for Probability is implemented, which caters to the learning needs of each and every student individually by providing a step-by-step solution to all problems from the Probability domain.

Kettering University/Experiential Learning:
Kettering University founded in 1919, is a private institution that is currently ranked 31 in the 2017 edition of Best Colleges. Kettering has been accredited since 1962 by the Higher Learning Commission and is also a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. At Kettering University their mission reads, “Our mission at Kettering University is to prepare students for lives of extraordinary leadership and service by linking
transformative
experiential learning opportunities to rigorous academic programs in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and business.”
Kettering University added a fifth-year thesis requirement and became a degree-granting college with a continuing commitment to cooperative education. KU current model runs 13:1, every Kettering student alternates between school terms and work (co-op) terms. While in the classroom, the student to faculty ration is 13:1. This unique cooperative education model, also known as experiential education, is taken to a higher level at KU. This exclusive ideal is what helps the university prepare their students for extraordinary leadership skills!
Competitive Advantage:
Experiential learning has set Kettering apart from its competitors as it equips the students with hands on decision making and critical thinking experience in the workplace starting as early as their first year in college. This thought process is an example of the critical lessons that are learned beyond a lecture hall, it provides students with a set of abilities that cannot be taught by reading a textbook or listening to a lecture. Students attending other institutions are learning about the work place and the successes and failures where Kettering University students are experiencing it in real-life and in a real work setting.
Rationale:
As a cooperative education student, you are working as part of your rotation for your degree. Based on a co-op wage and benefits survey in December of 2015, Kettering Employee Partners are paying:
Freshman Engineering Students: $14.95/hour on average
Freshman Business Management Students: $14.00/hour on average
Freshman Computer Science Students: $14.71/hour on average
Freshman Applied Science Students: $14.30/hour on average
Senior Engineering Students: $18.28/hour on average
Senior Business Management Students: $17.43/hour on average
Senior Computer Science Students: $17.86/hour on average
Senior Applied Science Students: $17.55/hour on average
Kettering University’s most recent graduation rate is currently 62.9% by year 8, and retention rate is at 79.

Should Everyone Go to College – Rhetorical Analysis
Education is believed to be the key to success. It is considered a smart investment associated with a number of benefits including earning more money and job satisfaction among others. Higher education is beneficial but may not be a smart investment for those attending it. Stephanie Owen and Isabel Sawhill argue that a college degree should not be a must to everyone. The enormous variation existing in the return to education based on several factors such as the field of study and institution attended among others are some factors to consider when thinking of higher education as a must investment. Despite the positive return on education, higher education may not be a smart investment to everyone. Student should be allowed to choose wisely their postsecondary education to ensure that they fully benefit from their choice. (In thesis, clarify the strength of ethos, pathos, logos in the article.)
Target Audience(no subtitle)
Going for higher education is valuable though it may not be the best investment for all young people who intend to college. Benefits of attending college include improved overall wellbeing and reduced crime among others. As much higher education is valuable, it may not benefit all those who attend it equally. Policymakers who are the target audience should acknowledge the fact that higher education does not equally benefit all those who attend it. They should consider the rate of return as well as variations in rate of return on education before considering it the best investment. Owen and Sawhill illustrate why higher education is not necessarily a smart investment for everyone by focusing on rate of return. They illustrate how variation in the school attended, career chosen, and graduation affect the rate of return on education. The use rhetorical appeals to convince the policymakers that attending college may be a disservice to some students.
Rhetorical Appeals
Logos
The authors use logos to convince policymakers that attending college is beneficial but does not equally benefit all students. They illustrate the benefits of attending higher education by stating the gap that exists in annual earnings between college graduates and high school graduates that is quite appealing. A college graduates working full time should earn $15,000 more than a high school graduate. However, this is not the case because from previous studies, the rate of return for attending an additional year of school is approximately 10%. This means that an individual aged 23-25 years old attending college for four years should earn $12,000 more than a high school graduate on a median earning of $30,000 though it less than what is expected (p.209). Additionally, a research by Hamilton Project indicates that the gap in the earnings grows to $46,500 by age 50. This is a clear indication that investing in college is valuable.
However.
Government Should Provide Student Facilitiesanwarkhan45314
Every student's dream is to get admission into a good college. But what they don’t realize is that once they are in, they have to fend for themselves. There are a lot of things that the government should provide to students in colleges, but unfortunately, they don’t. In this article, we will be discussing the facilities that the government should provide to students in colleges. From basic necessities like food and shelter to more specific things like books and stationery, there are a lot of things that students need in order to succeed in their studies. We hope that by bringing attention to this issue, we can pressure the government into providing better facilities for students in colleges.

These days, college students have more to worry about than what classes to take next semester. Rising tuition expenses, mountains of debt, and the not-so-sunny outlook on the employment prospects of many popular career choices have increased the importance for both parents and future college students to examine their choices more thoroughly than ever before. Before mailing in the applications, use the available data wisely: research which majors have the most potential, and, more importantly, study each school’s return on investment—which is what, ultimately, you’ll earn back from your degree.

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
Discuss what acting for the public good means to higher education finance.
Explain how to distinguish between a self-promoting gift and one that is not.
Explain ways universities have attempted to handle finances and fundraising in an effort
to act in the most ethical way possible.
Describe how to ensure that donors are treated fairly and their wishes are followed.
Financial management in higher education has been under scrutiny for the way money is
handled. There are many opportunities for employees to personally benefit from the money
designated for universities. All universities should strive to educate and monitor financial
transactions to ensure that the public trust is unquestioned.
When a person acts for the public good they strive to increase the welfare of those around
them other than themselves. Our policies should be established in a way that does not require
a person to act against their own self-interest. The policies should provide a well thought-out
framework in which to work so that the temptation to benefit one is not an option. People have
a tendency to operate from a position of self-interest. Self interest can be referred to as
“egoism”. Acting for the public good requires that the person is motivated by their own ego but
the action is to increase the public good.
Collectivism is when a group of persons are benefitted by a certain action. In higher education
we work individually and in groups to accomplish the goals of the university. When a group
works to better the institution in which they also benefit is collectivism. Social dilemmas arise
when a person or group have to choose who will benefit from a particular action. Some groups
benefit while others do not. Another dilemma is when the benefits of a decision are greater for
one group than another.
We say that a person is altruistic if their motives are to benefit one or more persons other than
themselves. Principlism is motivation to uphold a morale principle. It is necessary to
understand these various concepts to lay the foundation for understanding how to properly
manage money.
As administrators in higher education we are expected to act in a manner that is ethically and
fiscally responsible. We have a social responsibility to do the jobs we are paid to do to the best
of our abilities. Fiduciary responsibility means that we are responsible for the proper financial
management of the money we control. Anyone who experiences the effects of the activities of
the university are called “stakeholders”. A healthy tension occurs when our fiduciary
responsibilities are contrasted with our social responsibilities. This tension is called the
“stakeholder’s paradox”.

Masters in Social Work is spelled MSW. Aces in Friendly Work can be abridged to MSocWk or MSocWork or MSW. Professional social work practices in communities, hospitals, schools, and other social service settings are covered in depth in the technical Master of Social Work program. In India, the MSW program lasts two years and is divided into four semesters.
After graduating from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in relevant fields, candidates can take the MSW Course. A merit list or an entrance exam serves as the basis for MSW admission. Students must complete graduation in a relevant field to be eligible for the Master of Social Work program.
The MSW is a social science course that teaches students how to use resources to solve society's problems and try to alleviate their suffering through counseling, financial aid, or other social strategies. Social work topics like labor welfare, human resource development and management, rural reconstruction, child rights and child protection, and community development are covered in depth in this course. However, there is a gender gap in the field of social work in India, with only 12.5% of workers being women.
Why Study MSW Course?
There are numerous responsibilities associated with a career as a social worker, as well as opportunities to give back to society and the nation. Studying MSW can lead to a rewarding career for the following reasons.
Jobs available:
The course makes MSW job opportunities more likely. According to the most popular job boards, there are more than 100 open positions for social workers each month. LinkedIn lists over 490 open positions for social workers. Jobs for social workers are available in both the public and private sectors. Over 3.17 million non-profit organizations operate in India.
Enhanced Remuneration:
After earning a master's degree, social workers' salaries have reportedly increased by 29%. As a result, a BSW graduate with the same amount of work experience will earn more than a Master of Social Work graduate with the same job profile. Another interesting fact is that social workers worldwide receive a 3% increase every 16 months, whereas social workers in India receive a 10% increase every 17 months.
Chance to work in a field that is growing quickly:
The US Department of Work Insights predicts that the social work area would develop at a pace of 16% over the course of the following ten years, hence carrying more current open doors to MSW graduates universally. Social Work offers over USD 30 Billion to the economy under the tertiary area in India.
Opportunity to Work with Global NGOs:
MSW occupations can furnish graduates with chances to work for the most perceived NGOs on the planet including UNICEF, WHO, CRY, and so on. In India, there are over 3.3 lakh NGOs that can offer Master of Social Work graduates employment opportunities.
Benefits and a Good Return on Investment: The MSW degree program costs between INR 20,000 and 25,000.

A study on “impact of artificial intelligence in covid19 diagnosis”Dr. C.V. Suresh Babu
Although the lungs are one of the most vital organs in the body, they are vulnerable to infection and injury. COVID-19 has put the entire world in an unprecedented difficult situation, bringing life to a halt and claiming thousands of lives all across the world. Medical imaging, such as X-rays and computed tomography (CT), is essential in the global fight against COVID-19, and newly emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are boosting the power of imaging tools and assisting medical specialists. AI can improve job efficiency by precisely identifying infections in X-ray and CT images and allowing further measurement. We focus on the integration of AI with X-ray and CT, both of which are routinely used in frontline hospitals, to reflect the most recent progress in medical imaging and radiology combating COVID-19.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2. Entering a government post is a dream for many faculties, but
given that only the fraction of people are actually getting into it
and living their dreams. There are many private universities
which are paying their faculties good salary along with great
perks, but many faculties especially still prefers government
post more than working in these private universities.
Both Private and Government jobs have their own pros and
cons; it depends on you to make the choice. The obvious argu-
ment is that these private universities pay more and govern-
ment jobs are more secure. However, this is not all. Let’s look at
this comparison with some in-depth analysis.
Competitive
The aspiration for a government posts is affecting the progres-
sive growth of these faculties because it results in precious time
of these faculties spent on something which has a very low
chance of giving returns. The selection rate for
these exams is less than 1%, and the majority of
the faculties talking these NET/SET qualifying
exams are between 22-57 years of age.
Job security
In a private sector, due to the industry and corpo-
rate needs, their expectations are bit higher. Re-
cent years and during recession, private institu-
tions fire most faculties to cut down their salary
costs. You cannot ensure that your job will be
there after five years. The insecure feeling in
these self-financing colleges attracts these facul-
ties for government positions, but government
posts are relatively more stable. Faculties are fired only if there
are some activities that are completely unacceptable. Faculties
thus feel more secure and can plan their future better with a
government job.
Retirement policy
Government posts ensure that the teacher’s future is secured
even after retirement as opposed to self-financing institutions.
With a self-financing college, a faculty needs to plan and take
care of his or her future after retirement. The new pension
scheme ensures that a Teachers’ lifestyle & standard is main-
tained after retirement and also provide benefits like stay or
medical benefits to teachers even after their retirement.
Transfer
Government posts have good transfer policies for teachers. A
Teacher can get transfer to a new place while working in a gov-
ernment college, where this is not possible in self-financing
institution. This flexibility is helpful for teachers looking to relo-
cate to place where their parents are or relocation after mar-
riage.
Holidays
Government posts have more holidays than private institutions.
In India, government colleges declare holidays for almost all
festivals but private institutions do it in a very restricted man-
ner. While few institutions have optional holidays, few others
have limited numbers like 10 holidays in a year. Also, if you are
working for a minority institutions, you will not have all festi-
val holidays. In this case, government posts allow you to enjoy
most of the festivals you celebrate without affecting your
leaves.
Leave benefits
Government posts offer better leave policy as compared to
private institutions. The number of leaves and types of
leaves are more in government colleges. Also, approval of
leaves is more flexible and employee-friendly than private
institutions. In most of the private institutions, you will be
assigned with not more than 10 leaves in a year. The ap-
proval of leaves also depends on the work load and avail-
ability of substitutes.
Work life balance
While government posts have fixed working hours and also
have shorter working hours as compared to private institu-
tions. Most of the government colleges have 7 hours of
working while private colleges mostly have 9 working hour
rule. Also, the number of login hours is stringent unlike gov-
ernment colleges. A government teacher thus can
have enough hours at home and time to spend
with loved ones.
Limited Work hours
In IT companies, when there are situations where
you cannot physically be present at office, you
can request and choose to work from home. But,
today many private university teachers do this,
not that not going to their institution but once
coming back from their institution they are still
logged in to do other academic activities. These
things are not encouraged among government
teachers.
Salary and promotions
Though some private institutions pay more, government
posts offer various incentives along with salary; many pro-
vide quarters, transportation cost, medical facilities etc.
Also, there are various allowances offered to government
teachers. Thus, if you include all the other benefits that come
with a government post, the difference in salary might not
seem that huge.
In the self-financing institutions, you get regular appraisals
and promotions as per your performance. On the other
hand, in the government colleges, promotions are based on
various criteria like years of experience, specific achieve-
ment etc. But unlike private institution, as promotions come
with a gap in government post, the raise that an employee
gets is significant.
Work stress
As compared to self-financing institution, the stress level for
work is lesser in government sector. This is because the gov-
ernment posts work towards long-term goals and the work
pressure mostly varies depending on time like end of aca-
demic year, elections etc. On the other hand, self-financing
post majorly focuses on short-term goals, inspection dead-
lines, etc.. At times, these deadlines can add up to a faculties
stress level.
These are some of the striking differences between govern-
ment and private job. Now, it’s up to you to make the
choice. There are advantages and disadvantages of both
private and government job, you cannot make progress
without making decisions. Whatever is the choice, it is im-
portant that you make an informed decision.
