conferences…

Be organized
Make sure to have writing utensils/paper
Use positive body language
Avoid educational jargon. Listen to what they have to
say instead of doing all the talking.
5. Focus on student’s strengths.
6. End the meeting on an optimistic note. Parents should
leave feeling hopeful. They should feel you are an ally.
7. Summarize meeting/discussion: suggest things they can
do at home to help and what you will continue at school.
