■ Conclusion
What is creativity?
■ The use of imagination or original ideas to create something.
■ The created item may be intangible or a physical object.
■ Creativity requires passion and commitment.
■ Creativity is a gifted ability of humans in thinking, inference, problem solving, and
product development.
■
■ The dominants of creativity are, which are also known as the four P’s:
- Process
- Product
- Person
- Place
Nature of Creativity
■ Creativity is the intellectual ability to make creations, inventions, and
discoveries into existence.
■ Creativity is characterised by the ability to perceive the world in new
ways, to find hidden patterns, to make connections between seemingly
unrelated phenomena, and to generate solutions.
■ Creativity involves of two phases:
-Thinking
-Producing
■ If you have ideas, but don’t act on them, you are imaginative but not
creative.
■ It brings to awareness what was previously hidden and points to new
life.
Creativity and Innovation
■ Creativity is about unleashing the potential of the mind to conceive new
ideas whereas Innovation is the implementation of something new.
■ Creativity can never be measured, but Innovation can be measured.
■ There is no risk involved in creativity, whereas the risk is always attached
to innovation.
■ Creativity does not require money. On the other hand, innovation
requires money.
■ Creativity is an imaginative process as opposed to innovation is a
productive process.
Characteristics/Qualities of creative people
■ It isn’t necessary that creative people are genius, they’re simply more
intelligent than average people.
*Characteristics:
■ They are good at generating high degree of different ideas.
■ They are motivated by challenges.
■ They are independent. They do not depend upon others for suggestions or
any kind of help.
■ They enjoy in taking risks as they take this as a challenge.
■ They present a high positive self image of them to the world.
Ways to enhance creativity
■ Type 1: In an Organisation
■ Managers play an important role in motivating people to be creative and think out of
the box, the following ways are the ways to enhance creativity in an organization:
■ Challenging the workers:
Jobs that are easy develop monotony and boredom. Managers need to strike a balance
between challenges and monotony. Challenges enhance creativity as employees need to
prove themselves for their positions.
■ Work Environment:
Organisations should encourage communication, a positive attitude , and a low stress
environment. All these can support the greater mental flexibility that results to
profitable innovation.
■ Motivation:
Positive reinforcement in the form of rewards, bonuses, special privileges, will keep
people on their toes. Workers will put in efforts which will have clear benefits.
■ Encouraging Diversity:
A wide range of boring styles, thought processes, and viewpoints is essential to avoid
group thinking. Managers should always find ways to encourage interaction and the
exchange of ideas.
■ Hiring creative people:
Managers need to give topmost priority to this because, successful organisations go to
the commanding heights of the global economy only on the contributions of the best
brains.
*Type2: In General
■ Creativity is a thought process and one that can be strengthened with practice and
exercise. Following are ways to enhance creativity in general:
■ Embrace your mistakes and chance:
■ Always take a second look at your mistakes and see if it presents something new to the
scene that perhaps you hadn’t thought to try. Not every mistake is a creative epiphany,
but you’ll never have one if you never look.
■ Find inspiration:
Whether viewing artwork at museums, in photo books or immersing yourself in nature,
embrace the work of others including Mother Nature to help you see or think in new
ways. When our minds are introduced to new techniques or ways of seeing our mindseye
begins to expand its view fostering creative thought.
■ Break the rules:
Creativity knows no bounds. A great creative exercise is to intentionally break a rule to
see how you can find a new way of viewing something in a manner that is otherwise
“taboo”.
■ Have no fear:
Free yourself from the fear of what others might say if critical of your creative
experiments. Creativity is the antithesis of a “norm”. Creativity brings a new way to
present and see things. Never let norms and the attachment others have to them sway you
from your creative exploration of the world before you with your camera.
■ Extract yourself:
Remove yourself from familiar routine and locations. Taking time to be away from the
things that normally fill your day is a great way to obtain freedom for your mind to
wander. Distraction free time allows for new thoughts and ideas to surface and most
importantly it allows you to shape them into actionable projects.
Conclusion:
With this control at the beginning, you will find that all the many
fears and phobias of "unconsciously generated material" simply
evaporates, as you begin to understand the workings of your
energy mind and learn to USE IT for your own purposes in free
will. And that makes you an artist by definition, and sets you on a
life long road of total fascination and so much potential for
discovery, delight and EVOLUTION, it is absolutely priceless.Long
live CREATIVITY and all those who PRACTICE it!
