The document discusses how the media product represents different social groups through C.R.A.G.S - Class, Race, Age, Gender, Sexuality. It represents: the middle class through the protagonist; challenges racial stereotypes with a white male protagonist; aims for an 18-30 age group; portrays familiar gender stereotypes of male power; and depicts the straight protagonist and his wife.

I have represented that through my protagonist

4. RACE
My protagonist is a white male and
stereotypically black people are bad so having a
white protagonist is how I've represented
different social groups.
However I am also challenging the In addition it is

conventions.
5. AGE
I have aimed my production at 18-30 year olds who are the age
category that stereotypically loves Sci-fi.
We have portrayed this through the use of henry our main
protagonist who is a similar age to our viewers so they will be able to
relate to him in that sense.
In addition we have challenged the stereotype that older people
are far more wiser than younger people as the protagonist is a young
male and he manages to solve the disequilibrium.
We have also portrayed our protagonist as being older by
showing shots of him and his wife in the car which connotes his age
and lifestyle.
6. GENDER
I have represented the familiar stereotype that
men are more powerful than women by using a Male
male protagonist. In addition I showed two Antagonist
characters during the nuclear was a woman and a
man. The woman dies in a car crash and the man
survived which confirms this stereotype.
Furthermore the antagonist at the end is male
and he is portrayed as being very powerful which
also confirms the stereotype that men are the more
powerful gender.
7. SEXUALITY
I believe that my audience who view this will
be straight white males so I have tried to make my
protagonist identifiable to them.
Sexuality is portrayed through my production
as my male protagonist is shown as being straight
when he gets into the car with his wife. Also he is
shown as sharing a bedroom with this women as
they both gather their clothes from the same
room
