2. How did you represent social groups?
 In my film, I used the social group of young men, but on opposite ends
of the spectrum. One being a helpless victim; the other being a ruthless
murderer. More likely than not, the young adult male character is seen in
thrillers as a powerful, non-submissive individual, so I decided to turn that
around and add a more vulnerable character of the same age bracket
and gender.

3. The Victim(Rob Ellison)
I primarily based Rob’s character of the victim off of Sigourney Weavers character of Ellen Ripley in the Aliens
franchise; a character who is attempting to combat something or someone much greater in power and strength
than themselves. The victim’s clothing is dark in colouration and casual; much like what a young male of his age
would wear on a day-to-day basis. The denim jacket, the black jeans and trainers show that the character is still
young, helpless and unable to defend himself from what is chasing him. He is mostly placed on the left of the
frame- although sometimes he is central to make him the focal point of the shot. His facial expressions are always
fearful- to show the fear and anxiety the victim is feeling.

4. The Murderer- Ciaran Cochlan
 Ciaran’s character, The Murderer took inspiration from multiple characters; the biggest being WWE wrestler Kane.
The character of Kane is a mentally scarred individual, whose parents were killed in a house fire, which he caused. As
such, he wore a mask, as that was the only thing that could contain the madness inside. He eventually unmasked, and
turned into a psychotic monster- destroying everyone in his path. The latter is where I got my inspiration for The
Murderer. In the sequence, he is always seen with very visceral facial expressions; to show his deranged nature. He
could go from having a disturbing grin on his face to a thousand-yard stare and completely expressionless. He is also
in a similar outfit to The Victim, showing again, how opposite the two characters are but showing that they are
indeed of the same age. This gives the audience a reason to sympathise with The Victim- as he is visibly smaller than
his adversary. Throughout the sequence- The Murderer’s face is rarely shown, and when it is, that’s when the visceral
facial reactions come into play, as these facial expressions truly convert emotion towards the audience. The Murderer
is also slower than The Victim, perhaps to show the fact that even though he is only walking at a stride, he will be
able to catch The Victim.
