4. • The average teen has 201 Facebook friends
• 37% send messages to friends every day
• 80% of British teens use Twitter
5. • So it is clear that teenagers are using the
internet which leaves them open to cyber
bullying- but what we want to know is how
many teenagers and opinion leaders, our
audiences, are watching channel 4. The place
where our documentary will feature.

7. • On average a teenager will spend 2hours and
38 minutes in front of the Tv Per Day.
8. • However only 2.6% of all teens watch Channel
4 for longer than 3 minutes.
• VERY WORRYING FOR US.
9. HOWEVER
• 88% of people who watch channel 4 are in fact
our secondary audience of opinion leaders
because it is an informative and educative
channel.
• GOOD NEWS FOR US

11. ?
• So this means that the majority of people who
watch documentaries are either in our target
audience of teenagers or possibly in our
secondary audience of opinion leaders. Its
unfortunate that the majority aren't teens
who watch documentaries as after all they are
the ones who need help with this topic but
maybe the opinion leaders can help if they
view our documentary.
12. • So to target our audience we believed that it
was important to make an audience profile of
target audience and secondary audience. This
will ensure we know exactly who we are
targeting.
13. TARGET AUDIENCE

•
TEENAGERS / YOUNGER PEOPLE;
Age- 12-18
Income Bracket- C1-E
Race- Any
Sexuality- Any
Interests- Socialising, School, Sport, Gaming
Uses and Gratifications- information, personal
identity
14. Age 12-18
• We have chosen this age as our target
audience because statistically 89% of people
who get cyber bullied are between these ages
and also this age group are stereotypically
unaware of the dangerous of the internet and
online networks.
15. Income bracket C1-E
• Most students which is what this age group
will be wont have any form of income so they
would fall in the E income bracket. However
some may have left school and be on low
wages which will put them into the C1 and
below bracket.
16. Sexuality
• We don’t believe the sexuality is specific
which we will be targeted because no matter
what your sexuality you can still be targeted.
Although we are aware that some people may
have been bullied because they are of a
different sexuality than others.
17. Race
• We don’t believe the Race is specific which we
will be targeted because no matter what your
Race you can still be targeted. Although we
are aware that some people may have been
bullied because they are of a different race
than others.
18. Interest
• The typical interest of a teenager
stereotypically are that they like socialising
with their friends and that they like playing
video games and sports.
19. Uses and Gratifications
• We gave chosen the uses and gratifications of
information because our target audience will
be the one who will be getting cyber bullied
and they will be getting the information of
where they can get help from. They will also
feel personal identity if they are being cyber
bullied and they may feel how our girl in the
montage footage will feel. As we plan to have
a girl being cyber bullied here.
21. Age – 25-50
• We believe our secondary audience will be of
this age because they will have gone past
university and matured and be less likely to be
a subject of cyber bullying. They will be aware
of the dangers of online networking and the
internet.
22. Income Bracket A-C2
• We have chosen this income bracket for our
secondary audience because they are more
likely to have a good job at this age if they are
opinion leaders, so they will be earning a fair
income.
23. Sexuality
• Again sexuality doesn’t matter in this case
because to pass on their information about
what they know about cyber bullying sexuality
isn't important and from our point of view
their sexuality doesn’t matter because it
affects everyone.
24. Race
• Again Race doesn’t matter in this case
because to pass on their information about
what they know about cyber bullying race isn't
important and from our point of view their
race doesn’t matter because it affects
everyone.
25. Interests
• Stereotypically for opinion leaders these are
the sorts of interests which they have because
they often like passing on their knowledge to
younger people through teaching or just
generally educating.
26. Uses And Gratifications
• They will gain the use and gratification of
information because they will be learning
where to go when people are cyber bullied
and they can pass this information of to
teenagers who they believe are being cyber
bullied.
