Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses
which may cause illness in animals or
humans. Some cause illness in people, and
others only infect animals.
Some corona viruses infect animals then
spread to people, and then spread person to
person such as :
• Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)
• Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS)
• Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Common coronaviruses include some that
cause mild to severe upper-respiratory
illnesses.

3. What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 is a respiratory illness that
appear in animal then can spread from
person to person.
The virus that causes COVID-19 is new
virus first identified in Wuhan, Hubei
Province, China (Dec. 2019).
Initial case reported visiting a large
seafood and live animal market in
Wuhan.

4. How Does COVID-19 Spread?
COVID-19 spreads the same way the flu
and other respiratory diseases spread :
• Through coughing and sneezing of
infected person.
• The droplets can land in the mouths or
noses of nearby peoples, as well as
surface of wood, paper, metal etc.
• Between people who are in close
contact with one another (within about
6 feet).

5. What are the Symptoms of COVID-19?
The average incubation period of
COVID-19 to be about 5-7 days.
Symptoms appear 2 to 14 days
after exposure.
80% of patients with confirmed
COVID-19 have mild symptoms.
In very severe cases, patients
with covid-19 have developed
pneumonia in both lungs. In
some cases, it can be fetal.

8. When You Tested for COVID-19 ?
• When you feel sick with cough, fever or
difficulty breathing.
• When recently traveled from an area with
ongoing spread of COVID-19.
• When close contact with a person know
to have COVID-19.
• When close contact with a health care
worker that care or treat infected person.
In all above situation call your healthcare
provider, don’t visit if not necessary.
Don’t panic you contact emergency
contact number, provider office or urgent
care number if you need to be tested for
COVID-19.
