WHEN WORDS HURT is the first of five books portraying the struggles people
often deal with as a result of the harsh words of others. Annette Lee skillfully
portrays three families whose children experience disappointments and heart-
aches at the voice of someone else, usually an adult. The stories will exemplify
God’s presence in the least of them to bring about a change that will benefit
not only the children but the adults as well. Readers will share their heartaches
and celebrate with them as they share in the fulfillment of their desires. When
Words Hurt is a perfect tool for teens and parents of teens to learn how to

HURT
ANNETTE BOyD LEE is a native of Clinton, South Carolina.
In 1980, she graduated from Presbyterian College in Clin-
ton and went into the army as a 2nd Lieutenant. She served
twelve years in the military. In 2008, she became a foster
mother. She says, “Writing this book was a dream come
true. I knew how to start it, but God blessed me to finish it.
I pray that every person who reads this book is compelled
to evaluate his or her relationship with the Father and remember to “seek first
the kingdom of God and all his righteousness.” Words do hurt; but with God’s
help, those painful words can serve as a strengthening tool to solidify faithful-
ness with the reward of fulfilled promises from God.
