A certified Professional Structural Engineer with extensive 22 years of experience in Oil and
Gas, Industrial and Building sectors. MSc in Civil (Structural) Engineering with specialties in
Structural Design Engineering and Structural Integrity Fit-for-Purpose Analysis. Have been

international standard such as API, ISO, ACI, AISC, ASCE.
The following are my specialties:
Structural Integrity Management System (SIMS), an ongoing life cycle process for ensuring the
continuing fitness-for-purpose of existing offshore and onshore structures.
Non-Linear Plastic Collapse Analysis for offshore fixed structures using Usfos to determine the
maximum environmental loading the platform can sustain without collapse. It measures the
Reserve Strength Ratio of the platform beyond the 100-years characteristic environmental load.
It is one of crucial evaluation process in the overall SIMS process to assess if the platform is fit-
for-purpose to continue operation.
Fire structural analysis to determine whether the structures are able to withstand the heat for a
certain period of time for personnel evacuation without collapse. It involves the evaluation of
the platform using non-linear finite element technique using FAHTS (Fire and Heat Transfer
Simulation Analysis) and Usfos.
Vessel impact analysis for offshore structures to determine its fit-for-purpose at post damage for
operational and accidental scenario. It involves non-linear analysis to evaluate the energy
absorption by the platform through member dents and deformations.
Structural engineering analysis and design for steel structure, concrete structure and foundation
for onshore structures, offshore structures, industrial building and residential building.
Experience user of various type of structural analysis software SACS, SESAM, Usfos, FAHTS,
STAADPro, SAP2000 and ETABS.
I am passionate in teaching and has been a coach, trainer and speaker in various events. I
provide training for Non-Linear Pushover Analysis with USFOS, Structural Integrity Fit-for-
Purpose Analysis, Structural Analysis and Modelling with SESAM, Structure inspection and
Maintenance and other related subjects.
I worked for Petronas from Dec 2011 to Dec 2017 as Principal Structural Engineer in Project
Delivery & Technology - Group Technical Solution to drive the implementation of structural
integrity and reliability initiatives as part of the overall structural integrity management system
for existing offshore structures.
I also drive engineering service projects and provide support and expertise to project teams or
clients on areas with regards to structural engineering philosophies and methodologies, best
practices, etc to deliver quality and quick deliverables as per client's expectations.
My other primary role is to evaluate the integrity fitness-for-purpose of existing offshore
platforms due to changes triggered by weight, metocean, anomalies, standard and code, etc by

performing ultimate strength analysis push-over analysis method using USFOS to define the
ultimate behavior of the structure beyond its elastic zone. The results of this analysis can be
used as the basis for effective preventive planned maintenance or inspection by focusing on
critical/weak area of the structure. This is an advance level of structural engineering beyond the
common design level analysis that is done for new structure.
I am assigned to develop technical standard in Petronas as part of the technical governance and
quality assurance throughout the company in Malaysia. It is part of my role as Principal
Technical Professional in the company. I am also responsible to develop young engineer by
coaching, provide training and technical capability assessment in order to develop competency
and knowledge transfer.
I worked in RasGas Co.Ltd from Sept 2007 to Dec 2011, one of the premier integrated liquefied
natural gas (LNG) enterprises in the world as Civil & Structural Engineering Specialist in Static
Equipment Engineering in Operation Technical Department. My primary role is to set up an
integrated Structural Integrity Management System (SIMS) for offshore and onshore
structures. The process is by having SIM data management, evaluation and assessment
structural engineering, and strategies for planning of inspection programs, including frequency
of inspection and survey techniques, risk mitigation options to reduce consequences of structural
failure and for risk reduction options (strengthening, modification, and repair techniques) to
reduce the probability of structural failure. The SIMS program to maintain the integrity of
structural equipments to ensure maximum reliability of the facilities follows the closed cycle of
Plan – Execute – Report - Evaluate.
I drive the development of structure integrity programs and manage the execution of inspection
activities such as General Visual Inspection for onshore structures (e.g pipe racks, shelter, pipe
support, platform, equipment support, etc) and also Level 1 visual inspection for offshore
topside structures, Level 2 – Underwater General Visual Inspection, Level 3 – Underwater
Close Visual Inspection (inclusive FMD) and Level 4 – Underwater Non Destructive Test for
jacket structures. I was the project leader for underwater inspection campaign for jacket
structures in 2010 that had DP2 ROV Vessel and DP2 Dive Support Vessel for 13 offshore
platforms. I also look after the weight control and monitoring program for offshore platforms to
ensure that any new weight does not exceed the maximum weight capacity of the offshore
structure.
I develop structural integrity manual that outlines the role and responsibility of various internal
resources, scope of application and interface with other systems, structure integrity program
philosophy, execution plan, result management, corrective action and documentation. I also
develop inspection procedure, program annual and five year plan, maintain inspection finding
documentation.
Structural plant surveillance is also one of my activities in Rasgas, which is to respond to any
request regarding various concerns and queries such as incident, shutdown, maintenance,
facility modification, emergency response and capital projects.
My extensive experience in engineering firm prior joining Rasgas is very crucial in doing my
role in order to understand the real structural integrity issue and effectively focus on the problem
solving solution. And my wide coverage in structural engineering for both onshore and offshore
structures is really a huge benefit especially in setting up an effective integrity programs based
on RBI (Risk Based Inspection).
I am responsible for capital project conceptual development, which is to do feasibility study or
finding a solution on any opportunity/challenge that arises to improve or maintain the reliability
of the plant. I need to review and consider the financial, safety, constructability especially
interface with the running plant in order to meet the requirement by our internal client.
I worked in 2007 for DeltaAfrik Engineering Limited, a subsidiary of Worleyparsons in
Lagos Nigeria as Sr. Structural Engineer (Expat). My expertise in both on-shore and off-shore
engineering was required in here due to the combination of the on-going projects at the moment.

I worked at 2 brown-field projects for Chevron Nigeria Limited, EAGU a FEED project for off-
shore and on-shore facilities and Olero Creek Project a detail engineering work for oil
production facility at concrete barge sitting on creek seabed.
In 2006, I was Lead Structural Engineer in Kellogg Brown & Root Indonesia for On-shore
Tangguh LNG project in Papua Indonesia with JGC (Japan Gas Corporation) as main contractor
and BP as the client. KBR scope was in detailed design engineering for process train area that
consists of concrete and steel structures. I had 7 engineers and 10 designers under my
supervision and also directly involved in detail design of concrete and steel structure using
Staadpro. Many analysis were performed such as Reinforced concrete design for column and
beam, Seismic Analysis, Capacity Design for concrete structure, Steel structure design, Steel
connection (mainly bolt). I worked on that project for 13 months.
I worked in Kellog Brown & Root Singapore for 2 years as Sr. Offshore structural engineer
with main task in structural analysis and design using SESAM & SACS for jacket and platform
steel structure. I was involved in several offshore projects such as Belanak FPSO, Occidental
Project - Qatar (Central Processing Platform) topside detail design, PTTP Arthit2A - Thailand
(Central Processing Platform) topside detail design and Shell Malampaya - Philippine (Central
Processing Platform) topside extension & maintenance design. I worked mainly for topside
detail design analysis such as Transportation, Load Out, Lifting, In-place, Seismic, Padeye,
Equipment support, Access Platform, Pipe rack, Monorail, Ring Plate. I was also responsible on
design and construction drawings and supervised draughtsman with the Autocad and 3D
modeling using PDMS. I collaborated with installation contractor, vendor and fabrication
contractor in order to reach appropriate structural design. I also collaborated with my colleague
in other discipline such as piping dept, mechanical dept, electrical dept, instrument dept, and
also safety dept with the help of the project team (project manager and project engineer).
With Kvaerner Indonesia, I was assigned to design offshore jacket structure for Al-Shaheen
Maersk Oil in Qatar. I did mainly pre-service analysis using SACS such as transportation, load
out, lifting, up-ending, and on-bottom analysis. I was also doing the in-service analysis such as
boat impact and in-place analysis. The jacket structure was a tripod type with 70 meter water
depth for accommodation platform.
With Pertafenikki - a subsidiary of JGC (Japan Gas Corporation) I work on on-shore project
to produce analysis and design of concrete & steel structure pipe rack, equipment structure,
generator shelter, etc.
I am an RP-T (Resident Pass Talent) holder who are eligible to work in Malaysia without the
need for sponsorship for employment pass.

It is one of crucial evaluation process in the overall SIMS process to assess if the platform is fit- for-purpose to continue operation. Fire structural analysis to determine whether the structures are able to withstand the heat for a certain period of time for personnel evacuation without collapse. It involves the evaluation of the platform using non-linear finite element technique using FAHTS (Fire and Heat Transfer Simulation Analysis) and Usfos. Vessel impact analysis for offshore structures to determine its fit-for-purpose at post damage for operational and accidental scenario. It involves non-linear analysis to evaluate the energy absorption by the platform through member dents and deformations. Structural engineering analysis and design for steel structure, concrete structure and foundation for onshore structures, offshore structures, industrial building and residential building. Experience user of various type of structural analysis software SACS, SESAM, Usfos, FAHTS, STAADPro, SAP2000 and ETABS. I am passionate in teaching and has been a coach, trainer and speaker in various events. The results of this analysis can be used as the basis for effective preventive planned maintenance or inspection by focusing on critical/weak area of the structure. This is an advance level of structural engineering beyond the common design level analysis that is done for new structure. I am assigned to develop technical standard in Petronas as part of the technical governance and quality assurance throughout the company in Malaysia. It is part of my role as Principal Technical Professional in the company. I am also responsible to develop young engineer by coaching, provide training and technical capability assessment in order to develop competency and knowledge transfer. I worked in RasGas Co.Ltd from Sept 2007 to Dec 2011, one of the premier integrated liquefied natural gas (LNG) enterprises in the world as Civil & Structural Engineering Specialist in Static Equipment Engineering in Operation Technical Department. My primary role is to set up an integrated Structural Integrity Management System (SIMS) for offshore and onshore structures. The process is by having SIM data management, evaluation and assessment structural engineering, and strategies for planning of inspection programs, including frequency of inspection and survey techniques, risk mitigation options to reduce consequences of structural failure and for risk reduction options (strengthening, modification, and repair techniques) to reduce the probability of structural failure. The SIMS program to maintain the integrity of structural equipments to ensure maximum reliability of the facilities follows the closed cycle of Plan – Execute – Report - Evaluate. I drive the development of structure integrity programs and manage the execution of inspection activities such as General Visual Inspection for onshore structures (e.g pipe racks, shelter, pipe support, platform, equipment support, etc) and also Level 1 visual inspection for offshore topside structures, Level 2 – Underwater General Visual Inspection, Level 3 – Underwater Close Visual Inspection (inclusive FMD) and Level 4 – Underwater Non Destructive Test for jacket structures. I was the project leader for underwater inspection campaign for jacket structures in 2010 that had DP2 ROV Vessel and DP2 Dive Support Vessel for 13 offshore platforms. I also look after the weight control and monitoring program for offshore platforms to ensure that any new weight does not exceed the maximum weight capacity of the offshore structure. I develop structural integrity manual that outlines the role and responsibility of various internal resources, scope of application and interface with other systems, structure integrity program philosophy, execution plan, result management, corrective action and documentation. I also develop inspection procedure, program annual and five year plan, maintain inspection finding documentation. Structural plant surveillance is also one of my activities in Rasgas, which is to respond to any request regarding various concerns and queries such as incident, shutdown, maintenance, facility modification, emergency response and capital projects. My extensive experience in engineering firm prior joining Rasgas is very crucial in doing my role in order to understand the real structural integrity issue and effectively focus on the problem solving solution. And my wide coverage in structural engineering for both onshore and offshore structures is really a huge benefit especially in setting up an effective integrity programs based on RBI (Risk Based Inspection). I am responsible for capital project conceptual development, which is to do feasibility study or finding a solution on any opportunity/challenge that arises to improve or maintain the reliability of the plant. I need to review and consider the financial, safety, constructability especially interface with the running plant in order to meet the requirement by our internal client. I worked in 2007 for DeltaAfrik Engineering Limited, a subsidiary of Worleyparsons in Lagos Nigeria as Sr. Structural Engineer (Expat). In 2006, I was Lead Structural Engineer in Kellogg Brown & Root Indonesia for On-shore Tangguh LNG project in Papua Indonesia with JGC (Japan Gas Corporation) as main contractor and BP as the client. KBR scope was in detailed design engineering for process train area that consists of concrete and steel structures. I had 7 engineers and 10 designers under my supervision and also directly involved in detail design of concrete and steel structure using Staadpro. Many analysis were performed such as Reinforced concrete design for column and beam, Seismic Analysis, Capacity Design for concrete structure, Steel structure design, Steel connection (mainly bolt). I worked on that project for 13 months. I worked in Kellog Brown & Root Singapore for 2 years as Sr. Offshore structural engineer with main task in structural analysis and design using SESAM & SACS for jacket and platform steel structure. I was involved in several offshore projects such as Belanak FPSO, Occidental Project - Qatar (Central Processing Platform) topside detail design, PTTP Arthit2A - Thailand (Central Processing Platform) topside detail design and Shell Malampaya - Philippine (Central Processing Platform) topside extension & maintenance design. I worked mainly for topside detail design analysis such as Transportation, Load Out, Lifting, In-place, Seismic, Padeye, Equipment support, Access Platform, Pipe rack, Monorail, Ring Plate. I was also responsible on design and construction drawings and supervised draughtsman with the Autocad and 3D modeling using PDMS.
