The student intends to create a magazine and corresponding website targeting 16-25 year olds from a higher economic class. For the magazine, they will use a simple sans-serif font and bold masthead across covers and contents to establish a consistent brand identity. Bright colors on the first summer issue cover are meant to attract the target audience. The matching website will use the same fonts, colors, and theme as the magazine to maintain the house style brand image across formats. Links between the digitally convergent products are intended to demonstrate an understanding of how maintaining familiar elements creates a cohesive media brand.

In order to create a clear brand identity of a real-life magazine across two front covers and contents
pages. I constructed a media text that would appeal to a target audience of 16-25-year olds of the class
CD economic demographic. This is because stereotypically, the higher class you are the more likely you
are to read a more expensive and premium magazine. Across both covers and contents pages I will
include the same, simple sans-serif font which effectively connotes what the desired audience would be
interested in; whilst creating a brand and the ideologies to go with it. My masthead will be bold and
placed at the top of the cover page as I needed to ensure that it remained similar and comparable with
Bauer Media's already recognised principles. As I frequently read magazines, the readers of the
magazine would be completely up to date on the current trends and be fully aware of the matters
pressing the fashion industry. Furthermore, I will work with bright and vibrant colours for the first issue
set for release in the summer of 2021. This modern and sophisticated colour scheme can be found
included in many media texts and products that would catch the interest of most of the target audience.
The model that is present on the front of the magazine will be facing the camera and the cover lines I use
will be extravagant to catch the reader's attention instantly.

In order to create a website that matches my magazine theme, I ensured that I researched other real-life
magazine websites that are owned or related to Bauer media. To create a house style brand image, my
website will use identical font types and colour schemes that are present in my actual magazine. Within
my website, I will include a menu bar to make my website simple to use with easy access to the different
sections. Moreover, I will include a photo gallery presenting the progress of creating the magazine
issues, along with a video clip showing the production that took place to produce the final product. With
the use of hyperlinks, the viewer of the website will be able to find out everything there is to know
about “Right Now”, including a text introducing the main features of the magazine. This will make the
website more professional and to the standard that Bauer media would want.

It is very important for a media text to have a memorable and reliable brand image within all its other
products as it will show the reader that the website and magazine represent the same target audience.
This is shown by the bold text used across the different parts of the magazine and the similar fonts types
used on the masthead. By doing this you will create synergy in the brand. By having a familiarity between
the website and magazine it will create a sense of house style within the brand.
