Costume Consideration
- 1. Clothing such as a plain t-shirt, skinny jeans and a snapback will work well in hip-hop/rap music as they are quite simple and it is a very common choice of clothing and hip-hop/rap music is also very common and is probably the most popular type of music. I think these clothes are the most applicable to hip-hop/rap music as they are very common and well known and people are used to seeing these types of clothing whereas if a hip-hop/rap artist was to present themselves on stage in goth like clothing this wouldn’t look right and wouldn’t be as accepted by the audience as a person wearing popular clothing. Smaller music genres may need to be portrayed differently in order to get more people to become interested in them. However hip-hop/rap music is very popular worldwide and so it does not need to be portrayed differently to other music genres. The magazine which I will be copying has similar clothes to the ones mentioned above. However instead of a t-shirt the model wears a vest and instead of a snapback the model has a chain.
