2. WHAT IS CSR?
CSR refers to the practice of companies integrating ethical, social,
environmental, and other global issues into their business
operations and in their interaction with their stakeholders
(employees, customers, shareholders, investors, local communities,
government).

3. WBCSD (World Business Council For Sustainable
Development) :
 The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) is
a CEO-led organization of over 200 international companies . The Council
is also connected to 60 national and regional business councils and
partner organizations. The WBCSD was created in 1995 in a merger of the
Business Council for Sustainable Development and the World Industry
Council for the Environment and is based at the Maison de la
paixin Geneva, Switzerland, and offices in New York and New Delhi.
 The Council works on a variety of issues related to sustainable
development. It works to achieve the Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) through the transformation of six economic systems. These
are Circular Economy, Cities and Mobility, Climate and Energy, Food, Land
and Water, People and Redefining Value. Each system transformation is
set up as a WBCSD Program with a number of supplementary Projects.

4. TYPES OF CSR
According to Geoffrey Lantos: 3 types of CSR
 ETHICAL CSR: It’s about the responsibility to avoid harms or social injuries.
 ALTRUISTIC CSR: Contributing to the common good at the possible expenses of the
business altruistic, humanitarian or philanthropic causes.
 STRATEGIC CSR: Its about firms social welfare responsibilities that benefits both the
corporation and stakeholders.

• Train the employees of the company through some camps & seminars.
• English speaking classes.
• Personality development classes.
• Training by NAC & make them for future requirements of the construction.
 HEALTH:
• Provide quality health care facilities in the regions around the site.
• It runs medical facility centre, physiotherapy centre & mobile vans that dispenses free
medicines & provide free medical check-ups.
• Periodically company comes up with health camps like general health check-up camps,
eye check-up camps & corrective surgery camps for disables children.

 EDUCATION & EMPLOYABILITY:
• Jaypee provide free primary education to areas that had low literacy levels.
• There are several Sardar Patel Vidyalayas, Jaypee Vidya Mandirs and other primary
schools in MP, UP, HP, Gujarat, AP, Uttrakhand.
 RURAL INSFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT:
• Improved local infrastructure like roads, bridges, irrigation canals & draining systems.

marginal farmers and landless laborers.

corporation accountability, profitability and environmental
sustainability.
 CSR is the pole star of modern corporations in order to
maintain the integrity of moral fabrics both inside and
outside the corporation while conducting socially
responsible business.
