Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

1. Conventions of a Magazine I will be researching into school based magazine’s and looking at the basic layout they use within this, how things are placed and how it is represented across to the audience.
2. School Based Magazines This magazine shows the success of the students in the school by showing the school results and showing they are happy with them, this is a basic thing to put into a school magazine as you are trying to put across to the readers the success of the school and how it will be perfect for the students attending. This is the Masthead, It blends in with the background and doesn’t really stand out, having a bit of a cover line underneath gives you a bit of detail of the meaning of the photo The main image shows two girl who seem to be happy and proud whilst holding up their result sheet, this would give across a happy and successful feel to the audience. I feel they chose this as the main image to put across these to the reader.
3. Mast Head placed at the top of the page, This is to show where the magazine is based and so you know what you are reading. Selection of images to show the schools creativity. Individual titles to show what the separate topics are about Having a logo in the corner shows that this magazine is mainly based around this school and not others, so it is just about topics which relate to them. Underneath the title it shows a image of the school itself, I believe this is not a main image but I added to create effect and show you what the school looks like, and this might do this because they are proud with the representation of their school
4. Masthead, it stands out as it is in a big font and bright colour compared to the background, It represents the entire magazine. The main image of the magazine is placed in the centre and covers a bit of the title, this shows that the magazine will be well known If they know what the title Is with parts of it covered up. This magazine has a selection of cover lines placed around the sides of the magazine and hardly covering the model in the centre, This layout Is so it will look neat and representable. The magazines layout of information on the front cover Is in very little amounts basically just describing what it is about, But still manages to draw you in with the font that is used and the colouring. Giving a date to the magazine shows that it is updated monthly and will give you the latest facts and information the magazine usually I based around.
