The document contains plans for images and layout for the contents page of a music magazine. It discusses using a main image of an artist with a plain background to make them stand out, with smaller additional images. Clothes and hair should contrast with the background. The layout would include the contents title, issue number, main image, and editor's comment, with additional images to separate sections of the magazine.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

4. Images; plans about locations for photos, make-up, hair, clothes, styling, lighting, Mise en scene. Mise En Scene Location Make Up Hair Styling Clothes I think our image would best suit not being in any particular location for the contents main image, and just have a plain coloured background to make the image of the person stand out. But the individual pictures may be in an outside setting. Clothes that I think would look most appealing on the person would be clothes that are in contrast to the colour of the background to make them stand out, so for example if there was a plain white background, they should wear colours that would stand out, like purple. I think in the picture for the contents the picture used would have to be plain and blend in with the colour of the background of the contents. I also think the clothes used would have to be similar to the one in used on the front cover to show that it is linked. There will also be a couple small pictures of the other artist which will be random. For my main image on the contents I am using a male artist so therefore wouldn’t need to be using make up. I want the hair on both artists to be styled either way. With the male I think a simple spikey hair style would look good as quite a few R&B stars do that, however with the female I’d want it to be styled more and maybe be put up and curly. Body language would be different for the image on the contents, for this image I want the artist to be looking away from the camera so it’s a whole different style. I think in the picture for the contents the picture used would have to be plain and blend in with the colour of the background of the contents. I also think the clothes used would have to be similar to the one in used on the front cover to show that it is linked. There will also be a couple small pictures of the other artist which will be random. LAUREN:
5. Images; plans about locations for photos, make-up, hair, clothes, styling, lighting, Mise en scene. Mise En Scene Location Make Up Hair Styling Clothes I think my image would be best in no particular location, but where a plain background is present to allow my image to stand out. My main image will be best taken in an outside location and the smaller image I will find a plain white background in school in order to take this photo. I think the clothes that would be best are clothes that would contrast with the background, my background is a light colour therefore dark clothes would be best to enable them to stand out. I think in the picture for the contents the picture used would have to be plain and blend in with the colour of the background of the contents. I also think the clothes used would have to be similar to the one in used on the front cover to show that it is linked. There will also be a couple small pictures of the other artist which will be random. For my main image on the contents I am using a female artist therefore I have used light make-up around the eyes to accentuate the face. I have included a small image of a male artist so therefore wouldn’t need to be using make up. I think it would be best for my female artist to have her hair down and curly, adding emphasis on the photo. For my male artist I think spiky hair would be best, to show the difference in male/female stereotypes. Body language would be different for images on contents, both images I have used are taken from different angles/positions. My main image is a full length photo taken from front angle. The smaller image Is side photo of the face. I think in the picture for the contents the picture used would have to be plain and blend in with the colour of the background of the contents. I also think the clothes used would have to be similar to the one in used on the front cover to show that it is linked. There will also be a couple small pictures of the other artist which will be random. CHARLOTTE:
6. I like this image because there is a variety of colours used in this picture so its quite eye catching. The colours are also bright so therefore gives the impression of summer which may also mean happiness. I also like the fact that it’s a full body close up, it’s a long shot as you can see the background too, so this picture has a lot to say for itself which I think is quite attractive. I like this picture because it has a background to it so its not just plain. I also like the fact that she is sitting down which is a change from all my other images where they are standing up. The image is also taken from a different angel as most of my shots are taken from straight on. This image is a medium close up but the artist is also looking away which gives a different image to him. I like the way it’s a blank background but has a brick pattern so its not totally plain but would easily blend into the contents page. Also the fact that its plain I think it would make a good contents picture as more complex pictures can be used in the double page spread. I like this image because it’s a long shot so it’s a full body image so can see all of his body language which is very laid back and I just think he over all looks like an R&B artist. With a long shot you can also see what he is wearing which appears to be stylish, the way someone is dressed can appeal to certain people so I feel that it can be important to show the whole body. LAUREN:
7. CHARLOTTE: I like this image because it shows my female artist face on to the camera, when using this for my contents page it will help to draw in the audience’s attention. I like the brick affect in the background, it makes my image stand out. My artist is wearing dark colours in order to stand out. I have added an effect on this image, to darken the background and to allow the artist to stand out. I like this image as it shows a side on angle of the artist. The audience is not particularly focused on this image, but it is there to separate the articles, to keep the reader interested. I have kept the image in colour to keep the magazine interesting, using more than one image shows a break up of what is included.
