Role of Consumer in the market place

goods and services produced. As such, consumers play a
vital role in the economic system of a nation.
The role of a consumer is important in an economic
system because it is consumers who demand goods and
services.
Consumer Movement
The Consumer Movement is an effort to promote consumer
protection through an organized social movement which is in
many places led by consumer organizations.
Consumer International
Consumers International is the membership
organisation for consumer groups around the world.
Founded on 1 April 1960, it has over 250 member
organisations in 120 countries. Its head office is based

Standardization Symbols
The Consumer Protection Act is complicated, covers multiple jurisdictions, and
can change constantly. Despite all of this, by following the advice described in
this Research Guide, a lawyer or new attorney can understand the area.
The government act came into existence in 1986. It gives the user six
fundamental rights.
The primary goal is to ensure that consumers get their cash worth of goods /
service.
Consumers are allowed to protect products and services that are hazardous to
their lives and property from marketing cost fixes.
The right to obtain information on the quantity, consistency, purity, strength,
and quality of products and services is the rights of the customer.
It is also the consumer’s responsibility to purchase goods at fair prices.
Bibliography is an integral aspect of a project, as it declares the sources that
have been used to work on the given subject. In case of consumer awareness
the bibliography can be written as:
Websites:
Department of Consumer Affairs (Government of India)
National Action Plan For Consumer Awareness
Books:
Salient Features of Consumer Protection Act, 1986
A Practical Handbook For Consumers
Effective Use of Law
• Summary and conclusions based on findings.
• Planning and activities to be done during the
project, if any giving a calendar of activities.
• Bibliography : should have the Title, pages referred,
author, publisher, year of publication and if a
website the name of the website with the specific
website link which has been used.
• All the photographs and sketches should be labelled
and acknowledged.
• Teacher’s evaluation report
• Teachers will initial the Project Review page
• On completion of the evaluation of the Project, it will
be punched in the center so that the report cannot be
reused but is available for reference only.
• The Project report will be returned to the students
after evaluation. The school may keep five reports each
representing of different levels from Class IX and X for
