What is an –er verb?An –er verb is a verb in French that ends in -er

All –er verbs are conjugated using the same formula.  To demonstrate how to conjugate this type of verb I will be using aimer. But, what you must keep in mind is that the verbs listed in the above slide, and other –er verbs, are conjugated using the same formula.
To conjugate an –er verb take off the –er at the end of the verb and replace it with the appropriate ending.

You might have noticed in the above slide that Je when conjugated with the verb aimer turned to J’aime instead of Je aime. This is because when conjugating with Je if the verb you are conjugating it with starts with a vowel you drop the -e on Je, put an apostrophe after the -j and make the two words one word.Examples: Correct:Incorrect:J’aime le pizza. 			Je aime le pizza.J’ecoute a la musique.		Je ecoute a la musique.
