This paper presents a congestion-aware link cost routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) that optimizes data transmission by evaluating signal-to-noise ratio, link delay, and remaining battery power. The protocol enhances network performance by allowing nodes to assess their congestion status and adjust data forwarding accordingly. Simulation results indicate that this approach significantly improves packet delivery, reduces delays, increases throughput, and minimizes packet drops compared to traditional routing protocols like AODV.
