Heather Vancura and Bruno Souza have a new book out on the topic of how to have a successful and rewarding career as a software developer. The title of this session is the title of the book. Ed Burns wrote a book on the same topic nearly fifteen years ago. In this 45-minute session, you will learn the most important parts of the the new book from the author of the old book. Ed brings the insight he gained from writing his book to the task of presenting Heather and Bruno's book which contains the lessons learned in interviewing a diverse selection of 26 successful developers. Between the authors of the two books and the interviews they conducted, there is over a century of developer career experience in this talk! This informative and fun session will give you some practical tips to improve your own career.

A study on “impact of artificial intelligence in covid19 diagnosis”Dr. C.V. Suresh Babu
Although the lungs are one of the most vital organs in the body, they are vulnerable to infection and injury. COVID-19 has put the entire world in an unprecedented difficult situation, bringing life to a halt and claiming thousands of lives all across the world. Medical imaging, such as X-rays and computed tomography (CT), is essential in the global fight against COVID-19, and newly emerging artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are boosting the power of imaging tools and assisting medical specialists. AI can improve job efficiency by precisely identifying infections in X-ray and CT images and allowing further measurement. We focus on the integration of AI with X-ray and CT, both of which are routinely used in frontline hospitals, to reflect the most recent progress in medical imaging and radiology combating COVID-19.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

seems to be a difficult task but, when

something perhaps almost impossible,
if you only work a little at a time,

If you want a conference well organised, do it Yourself
Organising conferences are becoming a routine task for our faculties, but without formal training it has becoming a great chal-
lenge for them to conduct, most of them do it by trial and error, or being completely outsourced. Taking this as an opportunity,
number of predatory or fake conferences organisers do it for-profit which ultimately kill on the enthusiasm of academics and
early-career researchers to publish and present. In this article, we will discuss how we can organise a quality conference instead
of going for outsourcing.
Introduction
Organising is what you do before you do anything, so that
when you do it, it is not all mixed up. In many ways, organiz-
ing a conference is similar to lesson plan. There are pre, during
and post arrangements to be made and a backup plan for each
phase. The following are few questions you should be prepared
before organizing a conference:
3. What: To do list
In an ideal world, what would your conference look like? Jot
down details such as location, speakers, number and quality of
participants, food, and fun activities.
4. How: Budget
How will you pay for your conference? Investigate any re-
sources you can use for free. Reasonable fees, small conces-
sions, and scholarship offers. You just need to think more crea-
tively on how to optimise your tangible and intangible re-
sources. Let the saying “necessity is the mother of inven-
tion” guide your efforts.
5. Where: Location
Your venue can make or break your conference. Find a place
that highlights your Institutions brand identity which compli-
ments the theme of the conference, and should be easily acces-
sible for all participants.
Conclusion
It can be frustrating when things go wrong, as an organiser you
need to be prepared, don’t find fault. Deal with the unexpected as
they come up to minimise the impact on the event and the dele-
gates. Focus on being productive instead of busy, nobody is too
busy, it’s just a matter of priorities. There is a difference between
busy and productive; one can be productive by creating a sched-
ule or combining processes. Remember that not everyone has
what it takes to be organizers, because some people look for a
beautiful place. Others make a place beautiful. You can create a
great conference from an empty room.
1. Whom: Participants
Participants are the integral part of conferences and to getting
their interest, don’t find participants for your conference, plan
a conference for your participants. Take into
account the industry trends and research scopes
as the themes of the conferences. If you are serv-
ing the right theme, registration will come natu-
rally, rather than trying to market and force par-
ticipants to register which can damage the con-
ference experience.
2. Why: Goals and Objectives
After you've defined the purpose of your conference you have
to decide that whatever you do must be important to confer-
ence. A goal properly set is halfway reached, and go after them
with all the determination you can meet, your results will take
you places that will amaze you.
6. Who: Speakers
Participants want to see our cherished authors and thinkers in
direct action. When communicating with a speaker, provide
them with ample details so they can customize their remarks to
your audience, and make sure you are on top of their travel ar-
rangements and other needs.
7. When: Schedule
Draft a detailed timeline for your conference that starts early and
ends early. Schedule a mix of formal speakers, small group
workshops, and free networking time. Plan to feed
your participants every few hours, with a Tea break
and a Lunch break.
8. Do: Marketing
Successful conferences usually have a very well
designed marketing strategy. A conference teaser is
sent out months in advance of the official an-
nouncement so that expectations are created and
interest in attending.
9. Explain: Transparency
Communicate actively with your participants and sponsors in
advance so they know where to be and what to expect. As things
wind down and invoices come in, review them line-by-line so
that you can resolve disputes on the spot.
10. Evaluate: Analyse
Evaluate and analyse the conference. Did you reach your objec-
tives? If not, then analyse and find out what went wrong and
what you can do better for the next event.
The most
conference is the one
that achieves your goals
and exceeds your expec-
tations
