Plant adaptations refers to changes in genes and physical appearance that help plants survive in hostile environments. Dandelions have deep taproots to access water underground, and their seeds are well-adapted to wind dispersal. Lianas are vines that climb trees in rainforests to reach sunlight, while epiphytes grow on trees to take advantage of the canopy. Desert plants like cacti and xerophytes reduce water loss through small or absent leaves and waxy coatings, and store water in thick tissues. They also have extensive root systems to draw water from deep underground or spread near the surface.

Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
