William Carlos Williams s Poem Marriage
Poems are the best to express thoughts to readers, many writers choose to write poems to speak their
feelings which plain ordinary texts will not do. Three poems have special ideas about marriage, they
are: Marriage by William Carlos Williams, Marriea Love by Kuan Tao Sheng, and an untitled one by
Apache Song. All three of them have a central idea of marriage; two people are one individual after
marriage, one cannot separate from the other one. These poems are short but they carry deep morals
about marriage. They have a common characteristics where they all visualize the bonding between the
couple into things we feel comfortable about. There are three main aspects of poems content,
structure, and tone I would discuss about how the authors uses similar writing styles to bring out the
common idea behind. All contents of the three poems are very visual. In Marriage, Williams describes
men and women as streams and fields and in Marriea Love, Kuan describes them as clays. Similarly,
Song describes the relationship between married couples as solutions to problem, like, shelter for rain
and warmth for coldness. Visualizing helps reader to understand the author s point of view on
marriage. We can see that all three of them implies that, after a couple is married they become one
individual and should not and cannot be separated. Marriage says that men and women as streams and
fields. We often see them appear very closely and one another cannot be absent. He

Morality, By Joan Didion
Morality in its basic definition, is the knowledge between what is right and what is wrong. In Joan
Didion s essay, On Morality, she uses examples to show how morality is used to justify actions and
decisions by people. She explains that morality can have a profound effect on the decisions that people
chose to make. I think that morality is an idea that is different for every individual based on morals
and background.
In Joan Didion s piece, On Morality, she objectivity thinks that every individual has a different
conception of morality. She believes that each individual has their own meaning of morality and that
people use their own personal meanings to justify right versus wrong in life. I agree with Joan Didion
that people determine what is considered to be moral in their own opinions. Overall, I believe that
morality exists and that it is defined differently by each individual. I believe that humans collectively
require morality in order to prevent chaos and that everyone defines what is right by their own
personal opinion. Overall, as a society, I believe that morality is needed to draw a thin line between
the right and wrong whether they are based on law or morals.
In order to illustrate her point, Didion uses Klaus Fuchs and Alfred Rosenberg as examples. Fuchs was
a British traitor who leaked nuclear secrets to the Soviets while Rosenberg was a Nazi administrator
who was apart of the heinous and murderous acts during World War II. Didion adds the quote, I

Defining Social Roles for Men and Women in India through...
Social Roles for Men and Women in India through Traditional Hindu Texts Throughout this essay, I
will discuss the social roles of men and women in the home, within rituals and within creation. I will
look at the roles of a husband and wife, as well as Goddesses and Kings. The main traditional texts
that support these roles are the Rg Veda, the Kalpa Sutras, the epics (the Ramayana and Mahabharata),
Tryambaka, and Manu Smrti. They are believed to lay the foundations for order in society, as well as
giving people the knowledge of their duty. I will show how these separate texts have defined roles
within castes and genders and show how their different styles of writings have defined roles in
different ways. A person s role in society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first three are called the twice born. This is brought about by the initiation ceremony (upanayana)
at which they are ceremonially reborn and assume the sacred thread. The Saudras are not permitted to
perform this ceremony. There is also a class called the `Untouchables , which are outside the caste
system as they are too polluted and contact with whom was considered polluting. These people deal
with things that are seen as polluted, e.g. bodily fluid and certain animals. All these different classes
determine a person s duty in society. A person s duty in known as their `Dharma . This is dependant on
their caste, as well as their age and Gender. For example a woman s duty in the Brahmanical caste
would be different from a mans. This is mainly because a woman is prohibited from reading the Veda.
It is believed that this is one of the six things that cause a woman to fall. This was written in the
Stridharmapaddhati of Tryambakayajvan, (guide to the religious status and duties of women). A
person s age also comes into account. The main sources of Dharma are believed to be in the Veda, the
Kalpa Sutras, as well as the epics, the Ramayana and Mahabharata. All these texts have helped to
shape what peoples duties are in life, as I will show later on in this essay. The main feature that
dharma brings to society is a sense of social structure or

Deaths In Hot Cars Nearly Triple Summary
In the article Deaths in Hot Cars Nearly Triple, Steve Visser claims that the number of children who
have died due to being left in hot car is quickly increasing in this year. There have been a lot of
suggestions from experts about how to prevent these accidents, but a lot of similar cases still continue
to happen. The claim of the article is explicit because it clearly and directly shows the topic which is
the increase of hot car deaths, the explanations, and the recommendations for the problem. The author
gives some interview results to support his claim. For example, according to Amy Artuso, program
manager for the council, there were 11 death cases in this year compared to 4 cases at the same time
last year. Despite the fact that many parents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The death case in East Baton Rouge is an illustration of this point. The father who is a baseball coach
left his eight month old daughter in the car instead of dropping her off at day care. WBRZ reported
that the temperatures in Baton Rouge could reach 110 degrees in 10 minutes and 120 degrees in 20
minutes. This caused the baby died of hyperthermia and elevated body temperature. Her father then
was arrested and charged with negligent homicide because he was too careless in taking care of his
daughter. This reminds people of a similar case in Atlanta two years ago. Twenty two month old
Cooper Harris died after being left in the sweltering back seat of a car in June 2014 while his father,
Justin Ross Harris, was at work. What seemed like a tragic accident took a shocking turn when, three
months later, a Georgia grand jury indicted Harris on charges of murder. Kate Carr, president and CEO
of Safe Kids Worldwide, said The Harris case was one of 30 children who died in 2014 after being left
in parked cars... At least 44 children died in 2013. When a lot of similar accidents happened in recent
year, it is very important for parents to be more were more cognizant of the danger because a car that

Defense Against Terrorism
In the years following the September 11th terrorist attacks, homeland security has been at the forefront
of American public policy. According to a January 2015 Pew Research poll, seventy five percent of
Americans believe that protecting the Homeland against terrorism should be the number one priority
for policy makers (Pew Research Center 2015). These sentiments on homeland security are not novel
to Americans. National Security has been of great concern to Americans since World War I (Reid
2015). The government s actions in the last few decades have been reflective of this growing concern
of threats against the United States, domestic and foreign. In this detailed analysis, I will explore the

The design of the office is intended to support the fluidity of information among the groups who then
report to the Director of National Intelligence who in turn briefs the President of the United States and
other relevant White House officials (Office of the Director of National Intelligence 2015). It is
important to note the role of the Director of National Intelligence because it is instrumental in the way
that intelligence information is disseminated. As enumerated in Section 102 of the Intelligence Reform
and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, the Director is to act as head of the intelligence community
and, act as principal adviser to the President, the National Security Council, and the Homeland

A Brief Look at Hamilton Howard Fish
I always had a desire to inflict pain on others and to have others inflict pain on me. I always seemed to
enjoy everything that hurt. How would you feel if a man with gray hair and looked like a ghost walked
up on you and made this statement? These are the evil words of man that was known as a serial killer.
Born May 19th of 1870 was a man by the name of Hamilton Howard Fish. Fish the youngest of four
children was born to a young mother and a father by the name of Randall. Fish s father whom was a
boat captain that operated on a boat by the name of Potomac River also suffered from a type of mania.
Hamilton s father at the age of only 80 years old died of a heart attack. This is where the life of
Hamilton Howard Fish began. Not being able to care for herself and a young child after Fish s dad
passed away, Hamilton found himself left at an orphanage in Washington by the name of Saint John s.
At this orphanage Hamilton found himself being beat while naked for punishment for doing bad
things. This is where his life started to drown and he started to develop feelings of sadomasochism and
would also have or get erections and even pleasure from the beatings that he was receiving for his
punishments. Which this lead to other boys making fun of him as well as bullying him even more than
before. At this time in his life, Fish began to run away from the orphanage as well as wetting the bed
that he slept in. With bed wetting being normal, no one looked for any signs of him to go

Geographic information science and systems can be an extremely powerful tool when properly applied
to real world situations. GIS is commonly thought of as map making because it deals with spatial
analysis, but data can be managed and manipulated to create a vast array of different outputs including
charts and graphs. There are several software programs capable of dealing with GIS synthesis and
analysis. The focus of this paper applies to use of ArcMap 10.1 GIS software for data management
and output creation. GIS can provide several key benefits: cost savings from better efficiency, better
decision making, improved communication, better record keeping, and understanding changes in

The Relatable Of The Camel And His Friends
The most relatable fable that i read in this section was The Camel and His Friends . I found that this
story is relateable today especially. In today s society we get caught up in the trends and evrything that
is going on around us far too often. We live in a world where manipulation is easier than ever and
people can turn on you at the drop of a hat. It can seem that people care about you and are there for
you no matter what the circumstance. The lion who said he would never eat anyone under his

be cautious of the situations we put ourselves. It is not until sometimes things get tough that you find

Theory of Acute Pain Management Essay
Theory of Acute Pain Management
Marion Good, PhD, RN, has focused her study, A Middle Range Theory of Acute pain Management:
Use in Research, on complementary medicine for pain and stress, acute pain, and stress immunity. The
purpose of this theory is to put into practice guidelines for pain management. Good, 1998, noted the
need for a balance between medication usage and side effects of pain medications. The theory also
promoted patient education related to pain management following surgery and encouraged plan
development for acceptable levels of pain management. This theory was developed through deductive
reasoning. Chinn Kramer, 2008, defined deductive reasoning as going from a general concept to a
more specific concept. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Non pharmacological adjuvants are non medicinal elements which could include music, relaxation,
breathing techniques, imagery, distraction, and massage (Sylvia, Carol, LeeAnn MSN, 2011).
Assessments of pain and side effects refer to the examination of a patient at regular intervals of time.
Intervention and reassessment is based on changes related to previous pain and side effect
assessments. Patient education is training individuals on how to manage or prevent pain with
medication and activity. Goal setting is designed to aid in maintaining and reducing pain by allowing
the patient, nurse, and doctor to work together in order to form a plan of pain management. All
concepts work together to promote a balance between analgesia and side effects.
The major concepts of this theory are defined theoretically since the use of these definitions is from a
broader theoretic concept. Therefore, an operational concept could be developed from them. There is
consistency in the use of these concepts throughout the theory of acute pain management with
examples given using the same language as well as maintaining the integrity of the concepts.
Description of Theory
Multimodal intervention along with attentive care and patient participation is necessary to achieve a
balance between analgesia and side effects. Assumptions to the conceptual framework must be
identified to understand the specific relevance of the theory to pain

The Birth Of America Is Well, The Biggest And Greatest
The birth of America is well, the biggest and greatest thing to ever happen to us. There
are many things that led up to the 1865 era such as salutary neglect, the Constitution, the
Louisiana Purchase, Manifest Destiny, and Slavery. Those are just a few things that America
powered through to get where we are today.
Our Forefathers attempted to rectify what some would consider harsh actions made by
the kingdom of Britain in the mid 1700 s. The British didn t take the American territories
seriously and just saw them as colonies to be used and exploited in whatever way that best suited
the kingdom s interest. The morning of April 19, 1775 America was then no longer just
negotiating for its rights, we were fighting for them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By the end of the
assembly of the Second Continental Congress, America would declare war on Britain.
In Lexington in April of 1775 the British troops and colonial militiamen kicked off the
armed conflict. By the summer the rebels were waging a full scale war for their independence.
France entered the American Revolution on the side of the colonists in 1778, turning what had
been a civil war into an international conflict. French assistance helped the Continental Army
force the British surrender in Yorktown, Virginia, in 1781. We had won our Independence.
Though fighting would not officially end until 1783.
The United States Constitution s final draft was approved on September 17, 1787. It
established America s national government and fundamental laws, and guaranteed certain basic
rights for its citizens. It was, however more than just a document. It would more importantly
establish the form of government that would be utilized right up to modern day America. The
framers of the Constitution knew that while government needed power in order to be effective,
too much power could lead to abuses. So they kept government under control by dividing the
power into two ways; Federal and State powers.
The federal system of government was shared among state and national authorities.
Some powers, such as establishing an educational system were known as reserve powers because
they were reserved for the state. Others, such as declaring war were

A Research Study On Regenerative Medicine And Transplantation
Regenerative medicine and transplantation is the recent advancement in the field of scientific medical
research embarking on the evolvement of embryonic stem cells(ESCs)and reprogrammed human

derived in 1998 by Thomson et al. and induced pleuri potent stem cells(iPSCs) in 2007(Thai Journal
of Obstetrics and GynaecologyApril 2013) The innate proficiency of the human embryonic stem cells
to differentiate into multiple cell lineages i.e pluripotency and worthy of self renewal score them as
invaluable sources in therapeutic and diagnostic field. However, there are some impediments seen in
the generation and utilisation of these ESCs as some countries believe that isolation of ESCS from
embryos is detrimental to the embryos and as they are not patient specific , auto rejection is observed
in some cases. (Thai Journal of Obstetrics and GynaecologyApril 2013) To overcome this, scientists
have identified iPSCs by reprogramming of certain somatic cells. Vivid progression in the remedy of
infertility will be possible with the transformation of germ cells from stem cells. The mechanism of
differentiation of ES cells in vitro and in vivo are not well inferred due to limited number of oocytes

The Success Of The Mcdonald s Corporation
Around 95 percent of American households have a television, and with that 95 percent the average
american home will have at least one television turned on for around 7 hours according to the group
TV Free America. They also state that a child will watch around 20,000 commercials a year. But that
is just commercials there are also posters and ads on the radio as well, meaning that you cannot escape
the overwhelming amount of advertisements out there. Not only are there thousands of commercials
being seen each year, but also there are certain ways as to how these commercials are designed and
delivered. We give these very little thought but the companies slogans seem to stick to us like glue. In
1955, a man by the name of Ray Kroc founded the McDonald s Corporation. He bought the name
rights from brothers Dick and Mac McDonald. Kroc took this small restaurant and turned it into one
of the most well known companies in the world. By the end of 2008 Mcdonald s had grown to 31967
locations in 118 countries. With 58 million customers a day worldwide its hard to not see a
McDonalds ad around. ( James) People know that fast food is not good for the body but if it is fast,
tastes good, and cheap people will buy it. Thats because in this day and age most people are employed
and don t usually have time to sit and eat a nice lunch, so instead they turn to fast food and with
McDonalds continuously growing popularity that is what we think about first if we need food and fast.

Mutual Funds Advantages And Disadvantages
1. Mutual Funds(Open ended) A Mutual Fund is an investment vehicle that is made up of a pool of
funds collected from many investors for the purpose of investing in securities such as bonds, stocks,
money market instruments and identical assets. Advantages: 1. Liquidity An advantage of mutual
funds is the ability to get in and out with relative ease. In general, you are able to sell your mutual
funds in a short period of time without there being much difference between sale price and the most
current market value. 2. Diversification By purchasing mutual funds, you are provided with the
immediate benefit of instant diversification and asset allocation without the large amounts of cash

Certainty about the specific investments in trust The money placed in an investment trust is used to
capitalize a fixed portfolio. Unlike mutual funds or hedge funds, for some investors, this is a key
advantage because they are given the ability to always know what they own. Disadvantages: 1.
Opportunity cost This means that by putting money in unit trust, you lost the opportunity to use it
elsewhere. Of course there is no guarantee that putting the money elsewhere will yield better returns.
In the same way, putting money in unit trust prevents you from investing it elsewhere, such as,
directly in the stock market. 2. Fees and charges The services provided by the unit trust fund managers
are not free. There are fees and charges payable by the unit holders to the unit trust schemes. Granted
these fees are almost negligible compared to the professional expertise received by the investors, it is
something the unite holders have to bear. 5. Other type of funds 1. Money market funds It is open

bills or Government bonds. Money market funds are greatly recognize as being really safe and give a

College Student s Perception Of Depressed Mood
Summary: College Student s Perception of Depressed Mood
By: Nicole Puglisi, Leslie Ryan, and Allan Koikoi
Component One: Background Information The article College Students Perceptions of Depressed
Mood: Exploring Accuracy and Associations by Irene M. Geisner and colleagues, relate college
experiences (i.e., drinking, drug use, etc) to moods and behaviors to determine if students under , over
, or correctly estimate the prevalence of sadness, depression, and suicide ideation in themselves and
other students. A well as how their gender is associated to these findings. Moreover, this article
focuses on the field of psychology and the objective of this article is to convey the multiple factors
that coincide with the determination of depressive moods/behaviors, and how a student is able to
detect these moods/behaviors in others. For example, some students predicted an overestimate of
sadness, depression, and suicidal tendencies in their peers because of the other negative factors
associated with these cognitive tendencies, such as substance abuse, relationship abuse, and drinking
after driving. Gender also plays a role in this study, as researchers predicted that males had a tendency
to underestimate sadness, depression, and suicidal tendencies because of previous studies. Overall,
factors such as gender and lifestyle choices, can influence students and their ability to predict sadness,
depression, and suicidal tendencies, which is displayed throughout the article and in

Hydrate Lab
The following laboratory experiment calls for a moderate understanding of what a hydrate is, what its
properties are, and how altering a hydrate s chemical structure may cause the release of both water and
acidic vapors. A hydrate itself is a chemical, typically a crystalline salt, which incorporates water
(H2O) into its chemical structure. For example, the compound CoCl2 is merely cobalt (II) chloride,
however, take the original compound and attach a water molecule and it becomes CoCl2 + 6 H2O. In
other words, the original cobalt (II) chloride is now cobalt (II) chloride hexahydrate.
The bond between the compounds and the water molecules is weak and therefore easily broken.
Typically, these bonds are broken through the heating of the compound.

Fourth amendment of United States Constitution protects people from being undergone unwarranted
searches and prevent their things from being taken away by authorities without proper authorization. If
any government official or agent want to search an individual or their belongings, they should have
proper reason to do that and get permission from the judge.
Fourth amendment of United States constitution states that it is the right of the people to be secure in
their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be
violated; and no Warrants shall issue but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and
particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. (Fourth
Amendment U.S. Constitution, n.d.)
The fourth amendment was proposed on September 25th, 1789 along with eleven other amendments
and ratified in 1791 by three fourths of the state legislatures. (Bill of Rights Transcript)

The Significance of Radical Thought and Attitudes in the Civil War Period
The Civil War caused turmoil and upheaval that affected every strand of life in England. It challenged
and upturned the deeply ingrained feudal system with a Monarch as the head of all moral, spiritual and
governmental life, and moved thought and order towards new democratic ideas and systems of rule.
This period saw a new experimentation in ideas and attitudes among the population, which was not
welcomed by many. As Christopher Hill writes What was new in the 17 centaury was the idea that the
world might be permanently turned upside down . In the wake of Charles s regicide there was a

As. Michel Lynch states: It was the great issue that defined settlement , or peace in this case. One
group challenging this were the True Levellers mockingly known as Diggers: With beliefs in equality,
community and true religion for all they argued that land was a common treasury and lived in
communes detached from society. The most famous commune was on St George s Hill, where
common land was taken over by a group numbering around 50 led by Winstanly. Their ideas derived
and supported from the Bible were radical in that they directly threatened the gentry and the
landowners. As Michel Lynch states they . were regarded as an intolerable affront to established rights
of property referring to a lifestyle of sexual promiscuity, heavy drinking and frequent blaspheming ,
usurping land laws and ownership. Reactions and accusations followed that they were Drunk on the
Bible , thus dramatising many aspects of Digger practice. Just how seriously they challenged
established order was evident in violent clashes that culminated in their removal under Cromwell s
orders Lynch further poses an interesting idea that In an exact sense they were communists . He is
suggesting that here may lie the original seeds that led to later Communism. That the first statue of
Winstanly was erected in Russia after Lenin s consolidation of power shows the extent of their
influence in later history and

The American Of New Canada
Welcome good friend to the brand new state of New Canada! What once was a corrupt country north
of the center of the world (U.S.) is now the 55th state to the American Empire. The year is 2050, and
almost five years since the ending of the Third World War. Five years post war and civilization is still
in a state of recovery, which is why we bring Americans a piece of the past and a bit of familiarity
with the grand opening of New Canada s capitol building. We do this to honor the fallen and help
Canadians assimilate into American Culture.
New Canada is a shell of what it used to be before its great depression and eventually WWIII. The
Canadian depression started in 2033 with what historians are now calling The Great Sellout.
Historians have no idea what initially caused it, but the act was that all businesses in Canada relocated
and outsourced to foreign countries leaving millions of Canadian citizens unemployed and Canada
without industry. Canada suffered the largest deficit ever to be had by a country at the time and the
record only grew higher every year after. In its desperation, Canada sold itself out to China in 2039 in
an attempt to improve the lives of its citizens. China took over what used to be car factories and turned
them into weapon manufacturers. Only one year after the colonization of Canada, China invaded the
U.S.
WWIII lasted for five years, ending in 2055 with the U.S. now having control over China and part of
Russia, Ukraine, and Japan. These four

A Country Of Illusion Chapter 1 Summary
In chapter 1: A Country of Illusion, Reisner describes the exploration and settlement of the Western
United States, more specifically California. Reisner explains that a Spaniard by the name of Francisco
Vasquez de Coronado explored out this way for gold. Reisner then moves on and goes into detail
about the Powell Expedition of 1869 and says that explorers found land that was dry and bare that
showed no sign of vegetation which than got the name of the Great American Desert. After the
discussion of the barren land, Reisner briefly discussed the Homestead Act and how it affected people
and how it granted access and ownership of land to people. In Chapter 2: The Red Queen, Reisner
began to describe the early settlement into California and the water issue that most came to face but in

America Needs Greater Voter Participation Essay
Government and Politics America Needs Greater Voter Participation
We may live in a country that encourages voting in political elections, yet the level of voter turnout in
America is relatively small and continues to decline. Compared to other countries with democratic
governments, the United States falls very near the bottom of the list with its percentage of voter
participation. One explanation for this disturbing phenomenon states that the American system
requires more effort from voters, asking them to participate in more elections for more levels of
government with more elective offices at each level than any other country in the world (Schudson
159). In most other democracies, the citizens may be asked to vote only 2 or 3 ... Show more content

This encourages the formation of several parties to represent specific interests and generally, the wider
the selection, the higher the turnout rate (Edwards, Wattenber, and Lineberry 208). For example, the
American presidential election of 1992, when Ross Perot ran as the candidate for the Reform Party,
turnout levels increased (Teixeira 149).
The threat of large, influential socialist parties in many European democracies increase their incentive
to vote. When the decision has to be made between conservative or socialist control of the
government, the consequences for redistribution of income and the scope of government are far
greater than the ordinary American voter can conceive of (Edwards, Wattenberg, and Lineberry 246).
Some countries manufacture incentives by imposing fines on those eligible voters who do not show up
at the polls. Most Americans would consider an imposition of this sort extremely undemocratic. If
such a thing were attempted in America, I believe that we would see the highest levels of turnout ever
in an election, but only long enough to vote that proposition down, and exercise the power of recall on
every elected official that supported it in the first place!
Another explanation for the differences between American turnout and

Proposed Green Church
INTRODUCTION
I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.
Hebrews 2:11 12
A church is a place where we go every Sunday to praise and listen to the word of God. It is a home for
every Christian family to worship, to serve and to fellowship.
People come altogether and spend time at God s Holy place. We come to make Him exalted in every
shout of praises we are offering. God is delighted by His son s adoration to Him, and we, His people
want to be with Him always.

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
Historically churches started from the Ark of the Covenant that was developed into a bigger temple
and there came synagogues that were used as place for Jesus to worship and study God. After the
generation times of synagogues, disciples went of Israel to share the good news of Gospel. The
Barbaric tribes in Europe were the first Born Again Christian in the west. There was a rapid spread of
Christianity all over the world because of the colonization from the European countries, such as Spain
and England.
From the colonization, many churches were built, different doctrines were formed and many people
believed.
Designs of churches vary in sizes, colours, shapes and styles exterior and interior.
The concept of this project is to make a sustainable development by using acceptable and standard
resources that will ensure the viability of the next generations. Through this, application,
environmental conservation will be given importance. More and more buildings have risen but the

wrapped around the legs as well. The length of the skirt varied depending on the fashion of the time in
the time of the Old Kingdom they were short while in the Middle Kingdom they were calf length.
During the New Kingdom period it was fashionable to wear a pleated garment.
Rich Egyptian men were able to afford the best quality linen which was very fine and almost see

clothes. They also wore headdresses for special occasions.

Women
Women also wore different kinds of clothes depending on who they were. All women wore at least
one tunic down to their ankles. Many women, if they could afford it, wore a linen under tunic and a
woolen over tunic, and often a wool cloak over that if they were going outside. On their legs women
sometimes wore woven tights or socks, but women never wore pants. Nuns wore tunics like other
women, but generally in black or white rather than colors. Noblewomen often wore fancy tall hats,
sometimes with streamers coming off them. They sometimes plucked the hair from their foreheads to
give themselves very high foreheads which people thought were beautiful.
17th Century
At the beginning of the 17th century men wore starched collars called ruffs. Women wore frames
made of wood or whalebone under their dresses. However the farthingale was soon discarded and the
ruff evolved into a large lace collar (for those who could afford it!).
Men
In the 17th century men wore knee length, trouser like garments called breeches. They also wore
stockings and boots. On the upper body men wore linen shirts. In the early 17th century they wore a
kind of jacket called a doublet with a cape on top. Men wore their hair long. They also wore beards.
In the late 17th century a man s doublet became a waistcoat and men wore a frock coat over it. With
breeches it was rather like a three piece suit. Men were now clean shaven and they wore wigs.

Cognitive Control And Social Control Essay
Adolescence is categorized by psychological changes in relation to identity, self consciousness, and
relationships with others (Sebastian, C., Burnett, Blakemore, S. J., 2008). There are two major aspects
when it comes to adolescence: cognitive control and social control. The cognitive control focuses
more on supervisory functions such as our working memory, decision making, self consciousness, and
attention distribution; while, the social control supports the individual being more sociable, forming
more complex relationships and becoming more sensitive to acceptance and rejection by others
(Steinberg, L. Morris, A. S., 2001). The adolescence period of development begins with the onset of
physiologically normal puberty, and ends when an adult identity and behavior are accepted. According
to the World Health Organization (2006), this developmental period occurs roughly between the ages
of 10 and 19 years old. For my subject, I observed adolescent seventeen year old, Caucasian male,
Dalton. Our interviews were conducted at a local Starbucks, always under the permission of his fifty
one year old father, Thomas. I observed Dalton through a social and physical lens and related the
theories of Erik Erikson, Lev Vygotsky, Lawrence Kohlberg, and Jean Piaget to better understand his
standpoint in development.
According to the World Health Organization s 2006 child growth standards report, on average, a
seventeen year old male is normally around 142.0 pounds and 69.0 inches tall,

Authors writing about God Essay
All of the authors we have conversed about in class and studied about at home are connected in at
least one way, if not many more. For example, Anne Bradstreet, Jonathan Edwards, Michael
Wigglesworth and John Winthrop all write about God and the way we should all act and the simple
fact that we all need to be Christians and so must the Indians who occupy their lives. Where as these
authors are writers of the Heavenly Father, the authors that I wish to write about, though they do speak
a little about God, I am writing on their influence on the Indian culture as well as the impact the
Indians have made in Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca s, Mary Rowlandson s and Samson Occom s lives.

Cabeza de Vaca writes, After this we had a hot argument with them (the Christians), for they meant to
make slaves of the Indians in our train. (Pg 69) He believes the Indians are human too and are able to
live the life they are supposed to live. Although he could not get the ones he lived with to believe it; he
says, To the last I could not convince the Indians that we were of the same people as the Christian
slavers. (Pg69), he told his king and the world, and I trust we understand.
I reflect that Cabeza de Vaca thought the Indians would not be converted, to any of the English ways;
nor did he consider they would be annihilated. I imagine he thought they would just live their lives as
they know how. Obediently.
Mary Rowlandson has a very different view about the Indians, I suppose, because she has an
extremely diverse attitude while writing about them. Rowlandson, at first, thought of the Indians as
barbarians, and I expect she still thought that way after her return to her husband, but she became a
part of them, without wanting to be willing to, but having to, mainly to stay alive. I feel she knows she
is part of the Indians way of living, but she cannot bring herself to say they are not barbarians,
although she realizes she is becoming just like them with the eating of their foods and learning their
language.

The Cost Of A Cost Analysis
A cost analysis can be conducted in order by companies in order to estimate their cost when making
decisions (Douglas, 2012). Managers can various methods to analyze costs for decision making
purposes these are total variable cost, average variable cost, marginal costs (Douglas, 2012). In
addition the company can use profit maximization and marginal revenue to help make decisions
(Douglas, 2012). This paper will analyze two different scenarios and use various methods to help them
make the decisions at hand. The first scenario will analyze a pizza company. William, owner, is trying
to increase outputs while minimizing their costs. It has been determined that four ovens cost the
company $1,000. In addition, he has supplied the following ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This makes the most efficient number of employees to be at six because this is the highest return
between employee numbers zero and eight. If William was to pay each employee $500 per week, he
could determine his variable cost by taking their pay per week by the number of employees. Once this
is computed he can add it to the fixed cost to determine his total cost. The marginal cost can be
computed by taking the incremental total cost divided by the incremental output (Douglas, 2014).
Employees Variable Cost ($) Fixed Cost ($) Total Cost ($) Incremental Cost ($) Pizza Produced
Incremental Output Marginal Cost ($)
0 0 1,000 1,000 0
1 500 1,000 1,500 500 75 75 6.67
2 1,000 1,000 2,000 500 180 105 4.76

have five employees because this marginal cost is $1.67 and when you hit six employees their
marginal cost increase with each added employee. Marginal productivity declines as companies hire
more employees after a certain level. This is based on the law of diminishing returns which is if a

How Does Jesus Talk With A Samaritan Woman

Jesus and the Gospels
14 May 2018 Jesus Talks With a Samaritan Woman (John 4:1 26)
Through Jesus, God s love and deliverance is made accessible for everyone, and through him, you will
have everlasting life. In John 6:47, the author states, I am telling you the truth: he who believes has
eternal life (NIV). John 4:1 26 directly shows how if you are willing believe in him, you will have
eternal life. Jesus will ignore any circumstances of an individual to show his love. This passage
expertly shows that despite Jesus being a Jewish man and was not supposed to associate with
Samaritans, did so anyway to express his love and to get the woman to have everlasting life. The

The well was seen as a place where sin filled people came in order to encounter and get restoration
from Jesus. It was also seen as a place where people can get fresh water from Jacob. This was also a

However, according to Christians, The significance of Jacob s well is that it provided an opportunity
for Jesus to present Himself as the life giving Messiah to a Samaritan woman and, later, to her whole

Previously to this passage, Jesus had performed many signs. One of the most prevalent examples, and
the holiest of signs, is when Jesus turns water into wine. This was one of the most symbolic signs
Jesus had performed, and showed that Jesus was indeed the Son of God and was going to sacrifice
himself for the sake of eternal life for all who believe. The passage of Jesus and the Woman by the

For [Co(ONO)(NH3)5]Cl2
[CoCl(NH3)5]Cl2 + NaNO2 = [Co(ONO)(NH3)5]Cl2 + NaCl (eqn 1.4) n([CoCl(NH3)5]Cl2) = 2.518
g / 250.4456 = 0.010054 mol n(NaNO2) = 2.5 g / 68.99 = 0.03624 mol
Thus, [CoCl(NH3)5]Cl2 is the limiting agent. n([CoCl(NH3)5]Cl2) = n([Co(ONO)(NH3)5]Cl2) =
0.010054 mol m([Co(ONO)(NH3)5]Cl2) = 0.010054 mol * 260.998 = 2.62407 g
%Yield = 1.9221 g / 2.62407 g = 73.24 %
For [Co(NO2)(NH3)5Cl2
[Co(ONO)(NH3)5]Cl2 = [Co(ONO)(NH3)5]Cl2 (eqn 1.5)
Their molecular weight is same so
% Yield = 0.76 g / 1 g = 76 %

The Germ Theory Of Modern Medicine And Vaccines
Morgan Brewer
Mrs. Canuette
H. English III
10 November 2015
The Germ Theory The germ theory is crucial in the development of modern medicine and vaccines. It
states that many diseases are caused by the presence of specific microorganisms within the body and
that infectious diseases caused by infectious agents. It was a theory developed in the middle 1800 s, by
Louis Pasteur, Robert Koch, and Joseph Lister. This theory still underlines contemporary bio
medicine. It s responsible for the reduction in the numbers of infectious diseases. The development of
the theory eliminated environmental, diet, and climate influence on disease. The germ theory is
closely associated with existing ideas about health, hygiene, and sanitation. It encouraged the
reduction of disease to simple interactions with microorganisms and their host. The development was
largely initiated largely by the Industrial Revolution. Infections and disease have been the biggest
challenge to human health. This theory is also known as the Pathogenic Theory of Medicine. It
revolutionized medicine, understanding diseases, and the microorganisms that cause them. Infectious
diseases are caused by pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi; the
diseases can be spread, directly or indirectly, from one person to another (World Health Organization).
They evolve from four main different types of germs. These are viruses, bacteria, fungi, and protozoa.
Bacteria are single celled

Confucianism And Its Influence On Society
Confucianism can be regarded as a religion, a belief, a way of ruling and a basis for laying the ground
rules for the East Asian countries. Confucianism had gone through so many transformations and has
been affected by many religions and dynasties. Many dynasties have adapted the ways of
Confucianism, which state that there is a connection between humans and heaven. However, as time
progressed, religions such as Buddhism and Daoism also adapted the ways of Confucianism, but they
changed some of its ways, leading to new form of this learning. The Buddhists and the Daoists
changed and adapted their philosophies based on Confucian views towards the universe and the
society, as well as stripping their own belief from superstitions and myths. These lead to a new
learning of Confucianism, called the Neo Confucianism, referred to as Dao Xue (the Learning of the
Way) or Li Xue (the Learning of the Principle/Reason) (Yau 8).
Neo Confucianism was adopted into Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese schools. While it was
mentioned that it was mostly Buddhism that lead to new changes in Confucianism, other religions
played an important role in adapting and changing the method as well and were adopted by different
Asian countries. The Christian approach towards Neo Confucianism was mostly practiced around
Korea, China, And Vietnam; the Islamic adaptation was practiced in other parts of China as well as
Central Asia; and Neo Buddhism approach was practiced in parts of Japan and Chine. According

The Between Public And Private Spaces
When looking at how online forums effects civility, Papacharisssi (2011) suggest viewing technology
as an architecture which blurs the line between public and private spaces. Online discussions merge
the social, cultural, political, and economical into merging yet fragmented spaces. With this
framework, the presents of civility or incivility should be viewed as a dependent of the context of the
topic and website (Coe et. al., 2014; Herbst, 2010). Reader (2012) argues that incivility may be a
reflection from the polarization of current media messages. He argues that, the rhetoric of the culture
war is often vitriolic and rancorous, what some scholars have dubbed to be incivility (p. 506). Others
have found that topics involving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christopherson (2006) compliments with his construct of anonymity as the inability of others to
identify an individual. Anonymity comes in multiple forms; a common one being pseudonymity.
When using a pseudonym, a person uses another name other than his or her own to associate with. It is
very common to see pseudonymity on the Internet, since websites rarely check for the true identity of
the individual users, and it is often beneficial to protect a user s privacy.
Studies generally confirm that anonymity emboldens incivility in CMC. Strom and Strom (2005)
found that when abusers lack face to face contact with those being persecuted, they may not know the
level of distress that their misconduct is causing. Furthermore, online anonymity makes misdeeds
difficult to trace, easy for cyberbullies to avoid responsibility for their misdeeds, and reduces fear of
being caught and punished.
Through interviewing people from various countries and socioeconomic levels, Kang, Brown, and
Kiesler (2013) found that about half of those they interviewed sought anonymity for malicious reasons
like hacking or socially undesirable activities such as flaming or browsing violent or pornographic
website.
Typically CMC civility studies have focused on websites with clear topical themes or articles such as
online newspapers (e.g. Coe et. al., 2014; Rowe, 2015; Santana, 2015) or discussion boards (e.g.
Lampe et. al., 2014; Papacharisssi, 2004). In contrast social

Global Warming s Real Inconvenient Truth Essay

Global Warming s Real Inconvenient Truth
1) What do you think government s role should be in reducing energy consumption? Should there be
government mandates or should the market decide?
Personally, I believe the government s role in reducing energy consumption should be the obligation to
form subdivisions that encourage the limitations of energy intake. The government should form a new
United States unit to endorse and control the usage of energy. I think this department should pass as
many unpretentious laws as possible in order to lessen energy consumption. As the article states, No
government will adopt the draconian restrictions on economic growth and personal freedom (limits on

I believe there should definitely be government mandates. The article, Global Warming s Real
Inconvenient Truth, also states, In electricity generation, the share for coal (the fuel with the most
greenhouse gases) shrinks from about 40 percent to about 25 percent and much carbon dioxide is
captured before going into the atmosphere. Little is captured today. Nuclear energy increases. So do
renewables (wind, solar, biomass, geothermal); their share of global electricity output rises from 2
percent now to about 15 percent. Some of these changes seem heroic. They would require tough
government regulation, continued technological gains and public acceptance of higher fuel prices.
This statement explicates how the changes would be perceived as valiant but would also require stern
government instruction. The first regulation I had in mind for the subdivision to implement was to
make it necessary for all roofs white to redirect heat. Reflecting heat off roofs will not only reduce
energy use but it will lower carbon dioxide emissions immensely and

  • 2. William Carlos Williams s Poem Marriage Poems are the best to express thoughts to readers, many writers choose to write poems to speak their feelings which plain ordinary texts will not do. Three poems have special ideas about marriage, they are: Marriage by William Carlos Williams, Marriea Love by Kuan Tao Sheng, and an untitled one by Apache Song. All three of them have a central idea of marriage; two people are one individual after marriage, one cannot separate from the other one. These poems are short but they carry deep morals about marriage. They have a common characteristics where they all visualize the bonding between the couple into things we feel comfortable about. There are three main aspects of poems content, structure, and tone I would discuss about how the authors uses similar writing styles to bring out the common idea behind. All contents of the three poems are very visual. In Marriage, Williams describes men and women as streams and fields and in Marriea Love, Kuan describes them as clays. Similarly, Song describes the relationship between married couples as solutions to problem, like, shelter for rain and warmth for coldness. Visualizing helps reader to understand the author s point of view on marriage. We can see that all three of them implies that, after a couple is married they become one individual and should not and cannot be separated. Marriage says that men and women as streams and fields. We often see them appear very closely and one another cannot be absent. He ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Morality, By Joan Didion Morality in its basic definition, is the knowledge between what is right and what is wrong. In Joan Didion s essay, On Morality, she uses examples to show how morality is used to justify actions and decisions by people. She explains that morality can have a profound effect on the decisions that people chose to make. I think that morality is an idea that is different for every individual based on morals and background. In Joan Didion s piece, On Morality, she objectivity thinks that every individual has a different conception of morality. She believes that each individual has their own meaning of morality and that people use their own personal meanings to justify right versus wrong in life. I agree with Joan Didion that people determine what is considered to be moral in their own opinions. Overall, I believe that morality exists and that it is defined differently by each individual. I believe that humans collectively require morality in order to prevent chaos and that everyone defines what is right by their own personal opinion. Overall, as a society, I believe that morality is needed to draw a thin line between the right and wrong whether they are based on law or morals. In order to illustrate her point, Didion uses Klaus Fuchs and Alfred Rosenberg as examples. Fuchs was a British traitor who leaked nuclear secrets to the Soviets while Rosenberg was a Nazi administrator who was apart of the heinous and murderous acts during World War II. Didion adds the quote, I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Social Roles for Men and Women in India through Traditional Hindu Texts Throughout this essay, I will discuss the social roles of men and women in the home, within rituals and within creation. I will look at the roles of a husband and wife, as well as Goddesses and Kings. The main traditional texts that support these roles are the Rg Veda, the Kalpa Sutras, the epics (the Ramayana and Mahabharata), Tryambaka, and Manu Smrti. They are believed to lay the foundations for order in society, as well as giving people the knowledge of their duty. I will show how these separate texts have defined roles within castes and genders and show how their different styles of writings have defined roles in different ways. A person s role in society ... This is brought about by the initiation ceremony (upanayana) at which they are ceremonially reborn and assume the sacred thread. The Saudras are not permitted to perform this ceremony. There is also a class called the `Untouchables , which are outside the caste system as they are too polluted and contact with whom was considered polluting. These people deal with things that are seen as polluted, e.g. bodily fluid and certain animals. All these different classes determine a person s duty in society. A person s duty in known as their `Dharma . This is dependant on their caste, as well as their age and Gender. For example a woman s duty in the Brahmanical caste would be different from a mans. This is mainly because a woman is prohibited from reading the Veda. It is believed that this is one of the six things that cause a woman to fall. This was written in the Stridharmapaddhati of Tryambakayajvan, (guide to the religious status and duties of women). A person s age also comes into account. The main sources of Dharma are believed to be in the Veda, the Kalpa Sutras, as well as the epics, the Ramayana and Mahabharata. All these texts have helped to shape what peoples duties are in life, as I will show later on in this essay. The main feature that dharma brings to society is a sense of social structure or ... Deaths In Hot Cars Nearly Triple Summary In the article Deaths in Hot Cars Nearly Triple, Steve Visser claims that the number of children who have died due to being left in hot car is quickly increasing in this year. There have been a lot of suggestions from experts about how to prevent these accidents, but a lot of similar cases still continue to happen. The claim of the article is explicit because it clearly and directly shows the topic which is the increase of hot car deaths, the explanations, and the recommendations for the problem. The author gives some interview results to support his claim. • 7. A Brief Look at Hamilton Howard Fish I always had a desire to inflict pain on others and to have others inflict pain on me. I always seemed to enjoy everything that hurt. How would you feel if a man with gray hair and looked like a ghost walked up on you and made this statement? These are the evil words of man that was known as a serial killer. Born May 19th of 1870 was a man by the name of Hamilton Howard Fish. Fish the youngest of four children was born to a young mother and a father by the name of Randall. Fish s father whom was a boat captain that operated on a boat by the name of Potomac River also suffered from a type of mania. Hamilton s father at the age of only 80 years old died of a heart attack. This is where the life of Hamilton Howard Fish began. Not being able to care for herself and a young child after Fish s dad passed away, Hamilton found himself left at an orphanage in Washington by the name of Saint John s. At this orphanage Hamilton found himself being beat while naked for punishment for doing bad things. Reisner explains that a Spaniard by the name of Francisco Vasquez de Coronado explored out this way for gold. Reisner then moves on and goes into detail about the Powell Expedition of 1869 and says that explorers found land that was dry and bare that showed no sign of vegetation which than got the name of the Great American Desert. After the discussion of the barren land, Reisner briefly discussed the Homestead Act and how it affected people and how it granted access and ownership of land to people. In Chapter 2: The Red Queen, Reisner began to describe the early settlement into California and the water issue that most came to face but in the act of describing this Reisner discussed what he said was a famous water story ... • 32. America Needs Greater Voter Participation Essay Government and Politics America Needs Greater Voter Participation We may live in a country that encourages voting in political elections, yet the level of voter turnout in America is relatively small and continues to decline. Compared to other countries with democratic governments, the United States falls very near the bottom of the list with its percentage of voter participation. One explanation for this disturbing phenomenon states that the American system requires more effort from voters, asking them to participate in more elections for more levels of government with more elective offices at each level than any other country in the world (Schudson 159). In most other democracies, the citizens may be asked to vote only 2 or 3 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This encourages the formation of several parties to represent specific interests and generally, the wider the selection, the higher the turnout rate (Edwards, Wattenber, and Lineberry 208). For example, the American presidential election of 1992, when Ross Perot ran as the candidate for the Reform Party, turnout levels increased (Teixeira 149). The threat of large, influential socialist parties in many European democracies increase their incentive to vote. When the decision has to be made between conservative or socialist control of the government, the consequences for redistribution of income and the scope of government are far greater than the ordinary American voter can conceive of (Edwards, Wattenberg, and Lineberry 246). Some countries manufacture incentives by imposing fines on those eligible voters who do not show up at the polls. Most Americans would consider an imposition of this sort extremely undemocratic. If such a thing were attempted in America, I believe that we would see the highest levels of turnout ever in an election, but only long enough to vote that proposition down, and exercise the power of recall on every elected official that supported it in the first place! • 37. Cognitive Control And Social Control Essay Adolescence is categorized by psychological changes in relation to identity, self consciousness, and relationships with others (Sebastian, C., Burnett, Blakemore, S. J., 2008). There are two major aspects when it comes to adolescence: cognitive control and social control. The cognitive control focuses more on supervisory functions such as our working memory, decision making, self consciousness, and attention distribution; while, the social control supports the individual being more sociable, forming more complex relationships and becoming more sensitive to acceptance and rejection by others (Steinberg, L. Morris, A. S., 2001). The adolescence period of development begins with the onset of physiologically normal puberty, and ends when an adult identity and behavior are accepted. According to the World Health Organization (2006), this developmental period occurs roughly between the ages of 10 and 19 years old. For my subject, I observed adolescent seventeen year old, Caucasian male, Dalton. Our interviews were conducted at a local Starbucks, always under the permission of his fifty one year old father, Thomas. Mary Rowlandson has a very different view about the Indians, I suppose, because she has an extremely diverse attitude while writing about them. Managers can various methods to analyze costs for decision making purposes these are total variable cost, average variable cost, marginal costs (Douglas, 2012). In addition the company can use profit maximization and marginal revenue to help make decisions (Douglas, 2012). This paper will analyze two different scenarios and use various methods to help them make the decisions at hand. The first scenario will analyze a pizza company. If William was to pay each employee $500 per week, he could determine his variable cost by taking their pay per week by the number of employees. Once this is computed he can add it to the fixed cost to determine his total cost. The marginal cost can be computed by taking the incremental total cost divided by the incremental output (Douglas, 2014). • 45. The Germ Theory Of Modern Medicine And Vaccines Morgan Brewer Mrs. Canuette H. English III 10 November 2015 The Germ Theory The germ theory is crucial in the development of modern medicine and vaccines. It states that many diseases are caused by the presence of specific microorganisms within the body and that infectious diseases caused by infectious agents. It was a theory developed in the middle 1800 s, by Louis Pasteur, Robert Koch, and Joseph Lister. This theory still underlines contemporary bio medicine. It s responsible for the reduction in the numbers of infectious diseases. The development of the theory eliminated environmental, diet, and climate influence on disease. The germ theory is closely associated with existing ideas about health, hygiene, and sanitation. It encouraged the reduction of disease to simple interactions with microorganisms and their host. The development was largely initiated largely by the Industrial Revolution. Infections and disease have been the biggest challenge to human health. This theory is also known as the Pathogenic Theory of Medicine. It revolutionized medicine, understanding diseases, and the microorganisms that cause them. Infectious diseases are caused by pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi; the diseases can be spread, directly or indirectly, from one person to another (World Health Organization). They evolve from four main different types of germs. These are viruses, bacteria, fungi, and protozoa. Bacteria are single celled ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Confucianism had gone through so many transformations and has been affected by many religions and dynasties. However, as time progressed, religions such as Buddhism and Daoism also adapted the ways of Confucianism, but they changed some of its ways, leading to new form of this learning. The Buddhists and the Daoists changed and adapted their philosophies based on Confucian views towards the universe and the society, as well as stripping their own belief from superstitions and myths. These lead to a new learning of Confucianism, called the Neo Confucianism, referred to as Dao Xue (the Learning of the Way) or Li Xue (the Learning of the Principle/Reason) (Yau 8). Neo Confucianism was adopted into Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese schools. Anonymity comes in multiple forms; a common one being pseudonymity. When using a pseudonym, a person uses another name other than his or her own to associate with. It is very common to see pseudonymity on the Internet, since websites rarely check for the true identity of the individual users, and it is often beneficial to protect a user s privacy. Studies generally confirm that anonymity emboldens incivility in CMC. Strom and Strom (2005) found that when abusers lack face to face contact with those being persecuted, they may not know the level of distress that their misconduct is causing. Furthermore, online anonymity makes misdeeds difficult to trace, easy for cyberbullies to avoid responsibility for their misdeeds, and reduces fear of being caught and punished. Through interviewing people from various countries and socioeconomic levels, Kang, Brown, and Kiesler (2013) found that about half of those they interviewed sought anonymity for malicious reasons like hacking or socially undesirable activities such as flaming or browsing violent or pornographic website.
