• Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited saw a drop in its revenue for the
second consecutive year to post Rs 30,240 crore (Rs 302.4 billion), a
drop of 14 per cent, even though it retained the number two
position among telecom players.
• BSNL offers both fixed line and mobile services with broadband
connections.
• With over 71.68 million subscribers, BSNL currently is the largest
wire line service provider in India.
• The company has reported around 6 crore (600 million) 2G
connections and 9,73,378 3G connections since February 2010. All
major towns and cities are covered through BSNL network.

13.7 per cent growth to emerge as the third largest player with

billion. This helped the group's earning go past the Rs 20,000 crore
(Rs 200 billion) mark.
• TTML leads the Tata group's presence in the telephony sector in the
telecom circles of Maharashtra and Goa, including Mumbai.
• TTML commenced landline operations in 1998 and has the largest
wire line base in Mumbai and Maharashtra amongst all private
operators.
• The company has over 600,000 subscribers.

16. Loop Mobile
• Loop Mobile (Formerly BPL Mobile), usually referred to as LOOP is
a mobile phone service provider in India. It offers
both prepaid and postpaid GSMcellular phone coverage
in Assam, Kolkata, North East, Mumbai, Madhya
Pradesh, Haryana, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan after receiving a
license to operate across 21 telecom circles by DoT. BPL Mobile
Communications was the country’s oldest mobile telecom service
providerestablished in 1994. It began its operations in 1995.
However, BPL Mobile was renamed to Loop Mobile in March
2009, following the expiry of its brand-use agreement with the TPG
Nambiar-owned BPL Group.Having consistently met and exceeded
TRAI benchmarks, is now ISO 9001:2008 certified. The Khaitan
Holding Group took ownership control in 2005. Loop Mobile has
completed over 16 years of service and today has over 3 million
subscribers.
17. Uninor
• Uninor is an Indian mobile network operator based in
Gurgaon, India. The company holds Unified Access Service(UAS)
licensesto offer mobile telephony services in each of India’s 22
telecom circles, and has received spectrum to roll out services in 21
of these (excluding Delhi). The company is a joint venture
between Telenor Group, a telecommunications company
headquartered in Oslo, Norway, and Unitech Group, an Indian real
estate company. Telenor owns a controlling majority stake in the
company (67.25%), which has been branded Uninor in the Indian
market. As of December 2011, Uninor has 36 million customers and
a total workforce of 14,700 people. The company has more than
partners in India. Uninor products and services are available from a
more than 490,000 retail outlets serviced by 1,800 distributors all
over the country.
18. TATA DoCoMo
• TATA DoCoMo is an Indian cellular service provider on
the GSM and platform-arising out of the strategic joint
venture between Tata Teleservices(subsidiary of Indian
conglomerate Tata Group) and Japanese telecom
giant NTT Docomo (subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and
Telephone) in November 2008. It is the country's sixth
largest operator in terms of subscribers (including both
GSM and CDMA). On 5 November 2010, Tata DOCOMO
became the first private sector telecom company to
launch 3G services in India. Tata DOCOMO had about
42.34 million users at the end of December 2010.
19. Virgin Mobile India Limited
• Virgin Mobile India Limited is a cellular telephone service provider
company which is a joint venture between Tata
Teleservices and Richard Branson's Virgin Group. Currently, the
company uses Tata's CDMA network to offer its services under the
brand name Virgin Mobile, and it has also started GSM services in
some states. “Virgin Mobile” branded services are being offered to
the Indian consumers by Tata Teleservices through a brand
franchise with Virgin Mobile.
• Virgin Mobile offers prepaid and postpaid on both GSM as well
as CDMA. Virgin Mobile also offers wireless services under the
brand name Datamax. Virgin Mobile is also India's first national
youth-focused mobile service, with presence across 45,00,000
outlets reaching over 3,20,00000 cities, towns and villages across
India.
20. Videocon Mobile Service
• Videocon Mobile Service., is a GSM based cellular
operator in India based in Gurgaon (NCR Delhi).Videocon
Telecommunications Limited which holds a market share of
0.78% in the country, a Videocon group company offers
GSM mobile services GSM service under the brand name
Videocon.
• The Videocon Group is a $4 billion, global business
conglomerate with a strong presence in Household
Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas, Retail, Telecom, DTH and the
