Community Needs
• Playscape Or Playground To Enhance Children Creative Thinking
Due to children have limited activity space to explored with, We are to proposed a fun and exciting
play structure that the children can explored and play with one another as well as developed their
creative thinking skill throughout the activity.
• Blackboard On The Wall For Communication Use
Assistant Pastor have recommend us to make some changes on their wall, after our disccussion we
decided to placed a big blackboard on the wall which will help to reduced the use of paper during
discussion, And children can be freely expressed their Idea on the big blackboard without having
any limit of frame. Children learn to speak confidently in public and are more willing to share their
opinion to the others.
• Rack For Drying Wet Clothes
Based on our on site observation , we are to proposed a rack for hanging children wet clothes
outdoor. This will help to fasten the process of drying the clothes and also the clothes will not be
easily blown away by strong wind. Our intention is to lighter the burden of the guardian so that the
guardian can spend more time with the children.
• Tables
Assistant pastor have explained to us that the children education are very important but due to
insufficient of table, children could not fully concentrate on their study, as this issue has slower
down the process of children learning and developing their interest in study. We hope to create
recyclable inspiring creation to replace table for children to study. The creation will be able to
motivate children to study and understand the important of saving environment.

The orphanage are having problem organising children daily life item (eg , clothes, shoes) and was
storing their items all over the places. This problem happened due to not having enough cabinet and

• Insufficient Education Facilities and Equipment.
The children does not have sufficient supply of table and stationary for doing their work or
studying, this problem slower down the learning process and brain development of children. The
children have limited access on exploring new knowledge and information for their future study due
to the insufficiency of facilities and equipment.
• Lack Of Creativity Development
Due to the lack of facilities to play around with, the children is being held back in creative thinking
development which causes an imbalance in life where they learn little about joy exploration,
innovation and discovery new interesting elements.
• Insufficient Outdoor Space For Washing Lines

Values
Tyre Playscape
- Providing a tyre playscape will invite the kids at the children’s home to experience something
slightly extreme and out of their usual routines at the house.
- It encourages the children to get up and be active rather than just sitting down and watch
television as they usually do so currently.
- The ability to also act as a table gives it an interactive experience in that the children will be able
to carry out their studying sessions.
PVC Clothes Drying Rack
- Improves on one of the lifestyle problems faced at the children’s home which is a lack of proper
clothes racks to hang or dry their clothes.
- Improves the overall environment of the house in that it becomes neater with the absence of
clothes hanging on the fence.
Blackboard Wall
- The blackboard offers an opportunity to be an interactive way for children to share their ideas on
various things through visuals.
- A space of creativity for the children to decorate to their heart’s content.
- A sustainable solution to the repeated use of papers in that it is easily erasable and can be drawn
on for a number of years.

Creativity / Innovation
Tyre Playscape
- An unorthodox method from the standard playscape idea as it uses recyclable items such as the
tyres as the main component of the proposed playscape.
- The ability of being a hybrid of a playscape/table allows space saving from having to have them
as individual components.
PVC Clothes Drying Rack
- A solution that uses recyclable materials (PVC pipes) rather than conventional materials such as
welded steel etc.
Blackboard Wall
- An innovative way for children to express their ideas due to it involving everyone around.
- A relatively unexplored method of creativity for children.
- The fact that the drawings on the wall can be erased and drawn on multiple times allows it to
become a kind of sustainable wall and can potentially reduce the amount of papers used.
