It is comprehensive assessment of

relation to its social, political,
economic, physical and biological
environment.

• It helps to identify community needs
and problems.
• It is a prerequisite for planning ,
implementing and evaluation of
successful community based health and
development programme.
• It helps to decide strategies

It is very important to determine the

to meet community health need and

are 3 types of nursing

Evaluation of community health ( Ev
aluation Phase)
Evaluation is the process of ascertaining
the effectiveness of something or some
organized activity or programme in
relation to some set standards and
criteria.
There are two types of evaluation
1. Formative or concurrent evaluation:
evaluation is of the each stage of the
process
2. 2. Terminal or summative evaluation:
evaluation determines the achievement
of outcomes.
Conclusion
Community health nurse must use
appropriste skills and knowledge in
practicing in different phases of commu
nity diagnosis. Community health nurse
should be able follow the guidelines and
form the need and interest based commu
nity diagnosis.
