During the summer of 2016, I was a volunteer at the Ridge Meadows Child
Development Centre s Therapeutic Summer Camp. My experience at the camp was a
memorable one, since I met a young boy with ADHD. Though it was difficult to get
his attention, his condition made me more aware and got me to communicate in a
more innovate way. By talking about a common interest of ours, the sport of soccer, I
was not telling him instructions or asking him for his attention, but instead giving
him mine. Besides my volunteering at the summer camp, I have been a part of many
activities, such as the VolunTEEN program and the Ridge Meadows Homeshow, all
throughout high school and the experiences have shaped who I am today.
Currently in my third year, I am volunteering at my local hospital and residential

Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The lion, scarecrow, and tin man were all characters that

Introduction
We have come into the era of Big Data. As (Atikoglu, Xu, Frachtenberg, Jiang,
Paleczny, 2012) stated, the need for efficiently storing large scale data in scale out
companies at lower cost is dramatically increasing. Therefore Key Value Store has
occurred in popularity. (Fitzpatrick, 2004) has clarified that KV stores plays an
essential role in lots of huge websites such as Facebook, Twitter, GitHub and
Amazon. This paper reviewed 6 popular key value stores and distinguished primary
features, performance and availability of each. The six systems are Hyperdex,
Dynamo, SILT, Project Voldemort used by LinkedIn, Berkeley DB and LevelDB
used by Google.
A key value store database has a set of keys and values, and each value is associated
with a key. The implementation of key value store database is actually a distributed
hash table (Stonebraker, 04/2010). Key Value Stores(KV), which are normally
known as a model of NoSQL databases, are widely deployed for data operation and
management in purpose of enhancing Internet services due to better scalability,
higher efficiency and more availability than existing relational databases systems
(Wang, et al., 2014). Because KV stores sacrifice relation model in exchange for fast
writing, and they are often featured with simple methods like put() , delete() and get()

It happened because of the killing of a German officer, Ernst vom Rath by for a

Although mental health has become a big issue across the U.S., it is especially
becoming a problem in college. Suicide has become the normal, even though it s
unheard of primarily because of the stigma. Don t believe me? Are you willing to
tell me that stress is normal and to have thoughts of taking your own life while trying
to juggle the responsibilities of being an adult is normal? Before you jump to any
conclusions, let s take a look at my argument. Mental health has a negative effect on

What is mental health? Mental health is a person s condition with regard to their
psychological and emotional well being. It affects how we act and feel, while all

choices (ASPA). Mental health illnesses can range from depression, anxiety, eating
disorders, college addiction abuse, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and sleep issues, just
to name a few. To explain why mental health is important, I will provide an

A standard hero embodies what we believe is best in ourselves. A hero is a
standard to aspire to as well as an individual to be admired (Miczo 4). The displays
of these superheroes emerged as the characters underwent certain transformations,

Are you a literary festival virgin? Are you clueless about what to wear and expect?
Have no fear, I am here to help. I too was a lit fest virgin until recently when I
unexpectedly embarked upon something that has made me look at literature
differently.
I m a student at Newman University in Birmingham and honestly, when I heard the
words literary festival my heart sank to somewhere not appropriate to mention (it
begins with b and ends in um ). I panicked before the events, on my first event, I
didn t know what to wear. Did I go classy and middle class or put on my best Miss
Moneypenny glasses and borrow my Nan s cardigan? Really, I was so flustered
trying to get into Birmingham city centre (which took an hour) that when I arrived
my jacket was screwed up in my bag and my hair was mostly in my mouth. So
instead I just went with big fluffy comfort clothes and my paper and pen. Turns out,
