This document discusses different aspects of non-verbal communication. It defines non-verbal communication as transmitting information without words through body language, gestures, facial expressions, eye contact, posture, physical space and time. It describes several components of non-verbal communication including kinesics (body movement), proxemics (perception of space), chronemics (time usage), haptics (touch), oculesics (eye contact), and paralanguage (vocal cues). Specific examples are provided for each such as handshakes, eye contact, physical distance between people, speed of speech. Non-verbal communication allows people to express emotions, attitudes and views without using words.
