Title: Combining Left and Right Palmprint Images
for More Accurate Personal Identification
Abstract—Multibiometrics can provide higher identificationaccuracy than single
biometrics, so it is more suitable for some real-world personal identification
applications that need high-standard security. Among various biometrics
technologies, palmprint identification has received much attention because of its
good performance. Combining the left and right palmprint images to perform
multibiometrics is easy to implement and can obtain better results. However,
previous studies did not explore this issue in depth. In this paper, we proposed a
novel frameworkto perform multibiometrics by comprehensively combining theleft
and right palmprint images. This framework integrated three kinds of scores
generated from the left and right palmprint images to perform matching score-level
fusion. The first two kinds of scores were, respectively, generated from the left and
right palmprint images and can be obtained by any palmprint identification
method, whereas the third kind of score was obtained using a specialized algorithm
proposed in this paper. As the proposed algorithm carefully takes the nature of the
left and right palmprint images into account, it can properly exploit the similarity
of the left and right palmprints of the same subject. Moreover, the proposed
weighted fusion scheme allowed perfect identification performance to be obtained
in comparison with previous palmprint identification methods.

In this article, a main perspective of developing and implementing fingerprint extraction and matching algorithms as a part of fingerprint recognition system is focused. First, developing a simple algorithm to extract fingerprint features and test this algorithm on PC. The second thing is implementing this algorithm into FPGA devices. The major research topics on which the proposed approach is developing and modifying fingerprint extraction feature algorithm. This development and modification are using crossing number method on pixel representation value ’0’. In this new proposed algorithm, it is no need a process concerning ROI segmentation and no trigonometry calculation. And specially in obtaining their parameters using Angle Calculation Block avoiding floating points calculation. As this method is local feature that usually involve with 60-100 minutiae points, makes the template is small in size. Providing FAR, FRR and EER, performs the performance evaluation of proposed algorithm. The result is an adaptable fingerprint minutiae extraction algorithm into hardware implementation with 14.05 % of EER, better than reference algorithm, which is 20.39 % .The computational time is 18 seconds less than a similar method, which takes 60-90 seconds just for pre-processing step. The first step of algorithm implementation in hardware environment (embedded) using FPGA Device by developing IP Core without using any soft processor is presented.

For the agriculture sector, detecting and identifying plant diseases at an early stage is extremely important and still very challenging. Machine learning is an application of AI that helps us achieve this purpose effectively. It uses a group of algorithms to analyze and interpret data, learn from it, and using it, smart decisions can be made. For accomplishing this project, a dataset that contains a set of healthy & diseased plant leaf images are used then using image processing we extract the features of the image. Then we model this dataset with different machine learning algorithms like Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, Naïve Bayes etc. The aim is to hold out a comparative study to spot which of those algorithm can predict diseases with the at most accuracy. We compare factors like precision, accuracy, error rates as well as prediction time of different machine learning algorithms. After all these comparison, valuable conclusions can be made for this project.

This paper proposes a Bio metric identification system for person identification using two bio metric traits hand geometry and palm print. The hand image captured from digital camera is preprocessed to identify key points on palm region of hand. Identified key points are used to find hand geometry feature and palm print Region of interest (ROI). The discriminative palm print features are extracted by applying local binary descriptor on palm print ROI. In a bio metric identification system the identity corresponding to the input image (probe) is determined by comparing probe template with the templates of all identities enrolled in biometric system (gallery). Response time to establish the identity of an individual increases in proportion to the number of enrollees. One way to reduce the response time is to retrieve a smaller set of candidate identity templates from the database for explicit comparison. In this paper we propose a coarseto-fine hierarchical approach to retrieve a smaller set of candidate identities called as candidate set to reduce the response time. The proposed approach is tested on the database collected at our institute.Proposed approach is of significance since hand geometry and palm print features can be extracted from the palm region of the hand. Also performance of identification system is enhanced by reducing the response time without compromising the identification accuracy.

. In the context of smart agriculture, developing deep learning models demands large and highquality datasets for training. However, the current lack of such datasets for specific crops poses a significant challenge to the progress of this field. This research proposes an automated method to facilitate the creation of training datasets through automated image capture and pre-processing. The method’s efficacy is demonstrated through two study cases conducted in a Cannabis Sativa cultivation setting. By leveraging automated processes, the proposed approach enables to create large-volume and high-quality datasets, significantly reducing human effort. The results indicate that the proposed method not only simplifies dataset creation but also allows researchers to concentrate on other critical tasks, such as refining image labeling and advancing artificial intelligence model creation. This work contributes towards efficient and accurate deep learning applications in smart agriculture.

In this research, the use of supervised instance selection (SIS) to improve the performance of artificial neural networks (ANNs) in classification is investigated. The goal of SIS is to enhance the accuracy of future classification tasks by identifying and selecting a subset of examples from the original dataset. The purpose of this research is to provide light on how useful SIS is as a preprocessing tool for artificial neural network-based classification. The work aims to improve the input dataset to ANNs by using SIS, which may help with problems caused by noisy or redundant data. The ultimate goal is to improve ANNs' ability to identify data points properly across a wide range of application areas.

This paper presents the intelligent door control system based on face detection and recognition. This system can avoid the need to control by persons with the use of keys, security cards, password or pattern to open the door. The main objective is to develop a simple and fast recognition system for personal identification and face recognition to provide the security system. Face is a complex multidimensional structure and needs good computing techniques for recognition. The system is composed of two main parts face recognition and automatic door access control. It needs to detect the face before recognizing the face of the person. In face detection step, Viola Jones face detection algorithm is applied to detect the human face. Face recognition is implemented by using the Principal Component Analysis PCA and Neural Network. Image processing toolbox which is in MATLAB 2013a is used for the recognition process in this research. The PIC microcontroller is used to automatic door access control system by programming MikroC language. The door is opened automatically for the known person according to the result of verification in the MATLAB. On the other hand, the door remains closed for the unknown person.
