Cologne Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Cologne, Germany. Construction began in the 13th century and took over 600 years to complete, making it one of the longest construction projects in history. The cathedral was built to house the relics of the Three Magi and incorporates Gothic architectural elements. Though damaged in World War II, the cathedral survived intact and reconstruction was completed in 1956. At over 157 meters tall, it remains the tallest church in Germany and an iconic example of Gothic architecture.
