Computing is getting more advanced as the years go by so are hackers. Hackers are those who
hack with or without consent and their acts are usually considered illegal. Majority of the times
hackers have utilitarianism motivation to use their skills in a personal or political way. Not every
hacker is amateurish; there are some that use their skills for the common good. Those who use their
skills under political reasoning fall under hacktivism.
Hacktivism is defined as the use of computing and computer networks for protests to promote
political ends. One of the most infamous legions of hacking is Anonyms. This particular group
started in 2003. They are groups of groups of hackers that make the people aware of what is

It was sold the government for 280,00 euro s. Western governments themselves are using that tool to
go into their citizens communications. Another incident had happened but in germany. Thier
officials had found a trojan virus in there system that was used to investigate their own citizens.
Back then there was no such thing as this. Everything had an extra step to it. Now all it takes is
your internet connection to be tapped or have a trojan infect your computer which causes you to
have your information at risk.
Now hacker s feel that what they are doing is not illegal and they shouldn t be on list of most
wanted. They compare a situation based on government. one hacker states that the government can
do so many thing s that shouldn t be done but yet still get away with it and if caught nothing is to
be blamed. But when a person like me hack s into lets say sony and shut down their servers for 3
day s but then bring it back up, i m considered a wanted person all over the place. A person in the
group called corpse states that there are still some people that have hope in the government, but
in our eye s we see it as in the government has lied to citizens and has made mistakes but yet they
still try to cover it up. Many agree and disagree with that statement but there will always be a
controversial. Moving to another group called charrie wong a

Essay on Minamata Patients’ Life and Minamata Compensation
Minamata disease was discovered on May 1st 1956. There were 12,617 people who were
recognized as patients. However, these numbers were only patients with the certificate. People had
to apply for the certificate certifying that they got impacts from Minatama and got the disease.
However, it was not easy to get the certificate as many people had to apply many times to get the
Certification. Another issue was related to the discrimination to the Minamata patients should
handle. People would disparage people with the Certification. Hence, the Minamata patients chose
to hide their status, even from their families and relatives.
In 1969, the 1st Minamata Lawsuit was filled to clarify the Chisso s responsibility for what
happened in Minamata. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of the museum is to collect and preserve valuable materials related to the Minamata
disease so it won t fade away in the future. The visitors can go to the galleries and hear stories
from Kataribe (Storytellers). There are 13 Kataribe (storytellers) so far. By sharing their stories and
experiences, they hope that people will understand Minamata deeply. In 27th October 2013, the
Emperor of Japan, Akihito, together with his wife gave a visit to the Minamata Disease Municipal
Museum. They got a chance to talk with Kataribe and heard stories from them. The Emperor,
Akihito, hopes that people will end discrimination to the victims.
Comments
Minamata disease is a very bad disease as it gives bad impacts to the human bodies. People
barely can walk, hands become crippled, etc. The Minamata patients also have to spend their life
going to hospitals as no cure for this disease. Furthermore, the application to get the Certification is
too difficult. The government should make it easier as the patients already suffered from the
disease. The Japan State also needs to conduct the comprehensive health survey. The survey is quite
important. No official survey was conducted until now. People still don t know how widely harm
extended and how many people were affected. However, I would like to say that Japan was quite
successful in handling this situation in terms of the compensation. Both Chisso

Nathan s View Of Justice In The Poisonwood Bible
In a novel by William Styron, a father tells his son that life is a search for justice. In
The Poisonwood Bible, a novel written by Barbara Kingsolver, the father in the novel, Nathan
Price, has a significant view of justice and pursues justice through earthly punishments. Nathan s
religious view of justice ultimately leads to his constant misfortunes, the dissolving of his family,
his shame for his family, and contributes to the novel as a whole.
Through his many experiences in The Poisonwood Bible, Nathan Price developed his own personal
view of justice by retribution. Nathan s company died, to the man, on the Death
March from Bataan... But he would not be back, so far as those boys in Bataan were concerned,

Maycee Davis White, Terrence Newspaper Journalism 7 September 2015 The Role of a City
Councilman By: Maycee Davis Randy Swanson, representing the Fifth Ward, has been on the
Town Council for the past eight years. He is currently in his final year of his first full term. In
2008, Swanson was chosen to fill an unexpired term due to a former Council member resigning. I
was appointed to fill the vacancy created when someone left, says Swanson. In 2012, Swanson
ran for reelection for his fourth and final term. Becoming a councilman for the town of Winona
Lake was Swanson s first office job held in political local areas. When I ran for election four years
ago, I made the point then that I would not be running for another term after this current term, says
Swanson. He believes in term limits, and that it is good to always have new people cycling through

The Dangers of Genetically Modified Food Essays
Many Americans consume thousands of pounds of genetically modified foods every day.
Throughout the 21st century, genetic engineering tremendously impacted new research in
pharmaceutical and forensic science. During that time, it also revolutionized the food in America
and many other countries around the world. Using Recombinant DNAbiotechnology on crops and
farm animals helps improve nutrition and quantity of foods. However, crops that are altered with
hybrid genes can also contain chemicals harmful to humans. By using developed biotechnology,
scientists are able to inject viruses and bacteriainto the embryos of plants to produce genetically
modified crops (). The same is applied for transgenic farm animals to increase the size of the...

This assists physicians by supplying them with new knowledge about the diseases they are

that can control or even prevent illnesses from becoming serious. On the other hand, outbreaks
can also begin in the pre packaging of vegetables and uncooked meats. Recently, a case of
cyclospora infection found in salad mixes reported to have a microscopic parasite. According to
Dr. Marc Siegel, a professor at NYU Langone Medical Center, The parasite is around people at
all the time. However, the parasite found in the mixed salad cannot be transmitted from one
person to another. But this seems to be from the handling of the mixed salad during production.
Another crucial way in which humans are harmed from genetically modified foods is obesity.
Obesity stems from an abnormal diet with high calorie dense foods which results in above
average body fat. It is associated with increased risk of disease such as cardiovascular failure and
liver cancer, disability and incapacitation from excess weight on the joints and bones, and even
death from complications arising from the obesity not the obesity itself. People are consciously
ignorant about the foods they eat. Obesity is the sixth most common disease worldwide.
Approximately 1.1 billion adults and 10% of children are considered obese (Haslam). Obesity is a

Comparing Beowulf And The Fellowship Of The Ring
The Fellowship of the Ring is a story written by author J. R. R. Tolkien. His story loosely based
around Anglo Saxon mythology much like the epic of Beowulf. Beowulf is a much older story
than The Fellowship of the Ring, but they share some key details. Furthermore, one could easily
compare the two stories for their epic like elements. Both stories contain epic elements, but how
does The Fellowship of the ring fit the definition of an epic? Where does it lack? If you watch
the film, the first example of an epic element is presented when Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the
the Grey are in Bilbo s home (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). The element is presented
after Gandalf finds out that Bilbo s been harboring the ring for a long time (Jackson, The
Fellowship of the Ring). When this is revealed, Bilbo gives a long speech about the ring s powers
and how it has been affecting him in a great way. Notably, the ring brings many good things to
Bilbo, like youth and health. In fact, outwardly he hasn t aged for sixty years, but he humbly
recognizes there s an underlying darkness to the ring that brings great temptation to the bearer
(Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He leaves everything he owns, including the ring, in his adopted heirs possession. Bilbo s
departure provokes the next epic element, which is a long and dangerous journey. After Bilbo
leaves, Gandalf clearly states the dangers of the rings to Frodo, the heir of Bilbo s possessions
(Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). Gandalf tells Frodo to leave with the ring immediately and
it ends up being a very long journey. Frodo has no idea that this journey will result in him crossing
multiple nations, which is also an epic

Going To The Moon Analysis
Going to the Moon Nino Ricci
Questions:
1. The significance to the story of Miss Johnson and the detailed description of her appearance is
that Miss Johnson was the young boy s chance to get away from isolation and get a chance to fit
in with society. To the narrator, Miss Johnson represents some sort of freedom, that which makes
one feel accepted and welcomed by everyone, and Miss Johnson makes the young boy feel that. All
the boys like Miss Johnson, including the young boy which gives the feeling that he s fitting in
with society and is being accepted as an equal to everyone else.
2a) There are many themes present in this which are isolation, immigration and identity. The series
of parallel events that happen throughout the story help reinforce these themes as the boy is trying

A quote that shows this imagery is: Now stray comets and satellites were flashing past our
windshield as the moon balanced in the vastness of space, grew larger and larger, until with a
bump and a lurch we touched down and opened our eyes to see its surface unfurled beside us;
and when we had removed our safety straps and taken off our shoes and packed ourselves
carefully into our spacesuits, we stepped out into space, our bodies moving weirdly because of
the lack of gravity, and set off like tiny gods across the watercolour strangeness of the moon. This
quotation is full of imagery which portrays the beauty of outer space and the moon. The comets

and its vastness of space . As they reach the moon, they would imagine as if the landscape that
Miss Johnson has laid out was really the moon, and they would attempt to feel what it would feel

Further developing space travel can lead to a much better and more advanced world. Advancing

of energy or elements that might be discovered. Traveling past the outer or inner most part of the

element that humanity knows about has been found on earth, brought to earth by interstellar
visitors such as asteroids, or were only observed being created due to a supernova of stars. As a
result of travelling to celestial satellites we may discover new elements, not native to earth. For
example, Dobransky said in an article posted in the International Journal of World Peace, With the
rapid depletion of oil and other common energy sources, alternative energy resources are being

forms of power. Helium 3 is a source for fusion energy that has no chance of a nuclear meltdown
and it produces no radioactive waste. While there are very small quantities of Helium 3 here on
earth, there are vast quantities of it on the moon. It could be a very clean, abundant, and cheap
energy source for centuries to come. Just one future rocket trip to the moon could return with
enough Helium 3 to meet all of the U.S. s energy needs for one full year the fusion technology

Compare And Contrast The Stock Market Crash Of 2008

in 1929, the country experienced the largest economic crash, known as Black Tuesday , ever
recorded. Investors of Wall Street traded about 16 million shares on the New York Stock

The S curve (Figure 3), allows businesses to predict the rise and fall of new product life cycles
within their market or industry. Whilst the airline industry in itself is in the maturity stage, the
low fare segment is currently in the growth stage. Gaining in popularity over the past few years,
the low fare segment is slowly reaching out to the masses and shedding its traditional negative
impression of compromising on safety and service quality. A growing middle class in the region,
with increased standards of living and disposable income and an appetite for travel combined with
increasing fuel prices and resultant ticket prices by traditional carriers have led to growing

In The Country We Love Summary
In The Country We Love By Diane Guerrero is a written masterpiece. Many people will not talk
let alone write about their illegal status or anyone they know that is illegal because of fear. What
Diane Guerrero did is give a voice. She let go of her fear and spoke for those in the same of
similar positions of their lives. She did not write about a mid life crisis or something redundant.
She wrote about reality. Primarily, Guerrero was not seeking a crowd of illegals. She was
pursuing young readers with open minds. Such as when she reached out to young girls during the
time in the book when she got her menstrual cycle and what a difficult time that was. She also
related to young women when she had to buy her first bra and the awkwardness that swallowed her
and then spit her out. She was relating to half of the worlds population when she wrote about these

truth and how she saw things happen. Guerrero was telling the readers about her life not a story.
That really captures people into the book; which makes it challenging to stop reading. People
want to feel apart of something; Guerrero exposed multiple possible openings that many can find
enjoyment and participation with. Guerrero s use of figurative language consisted of a flashback
during the majority of the book. This is relatable to young readers because they are constantly
thinking about the past. If they did the right thing and could they have done a better job. They are
always looking towards the future for instance what college or what career pathway they want to
follow. Guerrero reassured them that you don t necessarily have to make the correct choice at once
when thinking about the future. She made a lot of mistakes according to

Hitomi Cinderellana Alternate Ending
Konoha was in bloom. And Hitomi Hane hadn t seen anything so beautiful in a long time like
this village. From the banners waving slowly in the summer breeze to the decorations and
tender feeling of love radiating from every citizen, Hitomi couldn t imagine anywhere she would
rather be. Not even her homelands. Her eyes were wide behind the fabric that covered half of
the genin s face, a small smile appearing on her face as she walked through the streets alone. She
would have to fly up later and get a better view, before they did the fireworks, since she couldn t
remember what the village looked like from the air. Every village was different and if she wanted

She could buy Kiyoshi some flowers, maybe one of those wreaths she saw people wear? Would
he like that? Maybe...but if she got one for herself and then some for Kiyoshi? Or if she got one
for herself, found him, asked if he wanted one and then got him one? That way she could spend
more time with him. The teenager s face lit up as she jogged over to the flower shop s door,
tugging it open. Hitomi s senses were bombarded from all the blossoms and plants that filled the
store. This is so beautiful... Hi there, can I help you, sir? Too engrossed by the colors and scents
of the flower shop, Hitomi didn t realize that the employee was addressing her. It wasn t till the
shop worker spoke again, looking directly at Hitomi with a smile that the genin figured it all out.
Sir. Suddenly Hitomi was painfully aware of her brown robes, short hair, and...well her body.
She knew she looked like a young boy but she hadn t been called a guy in a long time as most in
Kumokagure knew who she was as heiress to the Hane Clan. But Konoha didn t know that.
Hitomi s face flushed as she looked down at her feet, shifting nervously, feeling confined in the
shop, too stuck without the sky above her. But to correct the shop worker would be even more
embaressing, for both of them, so Hitomi said nothing to the other woman. I m...I m looking to buy

Dementia And Its Effect On The Function Of The Brain
Dementia is a term used to describe the symptoms of a number of illnesses which effect the
function of the brain. It is an umbrella term describing the progressive decline in a person s
cognitive ability. The type and severity of symptoms varies with each type of dementia and is
usually has a gradual onset, is progressive and irreversible. (1) Research conducted by the
Australian government in 2011, estimated that 298,000 Australians have been diagnosed with
dementia and based on current projections, this number will exceed 400,000 by 2020. (1)
Although forecast methods vary, the number of people with dementia is expected to triple
between 2011 and 2050 and is estimated to reach approximately 900,000 by 2050. (1) In 2013,
10,933 people died from dementia, making it the second leading underlying cause of death in
Australians, accounting for 7.4% of deaths in that year. This number has gradually increased by
32% since 2009. (2) Dementia does not only impact the people with symptoms and it also
disturbs the people who must care for the person. It is estimated that 1.2 million people are
involved in the care of people with dementia. It has a financial burden on the Australian economy
$4.9 billion in 2009 10. (1) Globally, the World Health Organisation reports there are
approximately 47.5 million people who have been diagnosed with a form of dementia and there
are 7.7 million new cases each year. The number of people effected internationally is estimated to

What Is The Use Of Ethos In Hillary Rodham Clinton s...
At the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, Hillary Rodham Clinton delivered her
speech on Women s rights. This Conference took place on September 5, 1995, in Beijing China.
The purpose of this speech is to raise awareness about the struggles that women face, all over the
world, every day. Clinton gives a very strong speech attached with several emotions, and
information to support her ideas. She played an important role in the public not only then but now
as well. Clinton emphasizes the importance of women s rights all throughout the speech. She builds
her speech on emotion. Clinton uses this conference as an opportunity to, as she says, come

Pathos is an appeal to emotion, and is a way of convincing an audience of an argument by
creating an emotional response. Clinton uses this idea to get the attention of the audience. She
takes an emotional point of view to approach the topic. When listening to the speech, as a
female, I found it easy to relate to the points she is making. One thing that really grabbed my
attention when listening was when she said, Women comprise more than half the world s
population, 70% of the world s poor, and two thirds of those are not taught to read and write (2).
To me it was very shocking that women makeup more than half of the world s population, yet
still lack basic fundamentals of everyday life. For there to be that many women in the world,
there are still so many that are suffering and so many that do not have control over their own
lives, and that truly breaks my heart. As Clinton says, We are the primary caretakers for most of
the world s children and elderly. Yet much of the work we do is not valued not by economists, not
by historians, not by popular culture, not by government leaders (2). This shows that even if you

History of Homo Erectus Essay
When one thinks of history, they usually refer to their family s history, going back several
generations. Some might refer to a point in history, dating back several hundred years. For instance,
one might ponder their favorite historical event, like the Civil War, the Spanish Inquisition, or the
Creation of the State of Israel. Seldom do people talk about the first men, called Homo erectus.
Scientists are the only ones who have dedicated time to this interesting subject. The study of the
first men will teach us so much about our distant history, our connections, our strengths, and
ourselves. About 2 million years, Homo erectus evolved. They evolved from Africa and later spread

dangerous. They would burn themselves or even destroy their homes. Fire was used as a

They started forest fire and when the animals would get scared, they would run around. As soon as

##liness And Loneliness In Ernest Hemingway s A Clean...
When I have a lot on my mind, I find it hard to quell my thoughts and drift away peacefully asleep.
The only thing i can do then, is to give up on sleeping. Watch the TV, or anything to get my mind to
stop wandering. Ernest Hemingway never fails to make you think deeper thoughts when reading his
works. This is the case In Ernest Hemingways a clean well lighted place is a short story about two
waiters, and an old, deaf man in a late night cafe. The young waiter is tired and impatiently
waiting for the old man to leave so he can go home. The older waiter tries to explain to him why
the old man is there at the cafe instead of a bar or bodegas. The short story is a set of dialogs,
and within these we learn that some need a safe haven for their despair. Some need a clean and
orderly place to contradict the dirty, unorganized mess they have in their head. Hemingway s short
story is about loneliness and despair.
To start with, the setting of this story takes place in what is most likely Spain. The title plays a
big role in the setting. The older waiter is trying to communicate the reason the man is there in
the middle of the night, and that is because the cafe is in fact a clean, well lighted place. The
lightness and order are the reasons he is there. He could go anywhere else to drink, but he is an
old deaf man that is there to get away from the darkness of the night. He is lonely and has lost
almost all hope. His only hope is that he can have a clean well lighted place to hide

UC Berkeley: Origin of Free Speech, Topic of Extremes
Here we go again; yet again do we, as Americans, get to see another protest go violent, but what is
it about this time? Following up with recent news, Milo Yiannopolis, a highly controversial right
wing speaker and Breitbart columnist, was forced to evacuate UC Berkeley after a protest broke
into violence as many left protesters began destroying nearby areas and attacking innocent
people. Naturally, with such a controversial person coming to UC Berkeley and such a violent
occurring as a result, many opinions came out to the surface including two extreme articles that
we will focus on: a left wing article from Daily Cal by Luis Tenorio and Miranda Smith and a right
wing article from Fox News by Todd Starnes.
Throughout the article by Tenorio and Smith, the violence of the event is written off and excused
as a defense, saying that it crossed the line of tolerance as they claim that [tolerance] ends where
harm begins and that it is an event about safety and equitable ... Show more content on

New United Motor Manufacturing Incorporated, the 1984 joint venture between Toyota and
General Motors, was by all accounts a manufacturing success. NUMMI s effectiveness was
evidenced by the drastic change in output quality, employee morale, and overall cost but while
these great outcomes were recognized by GM, they were hardly leveraged. What supported these
results were exactly the factors that radically set NUMMI apart from the rest of the GM family.
Ultimately, GM s failure to adapt the plant s success was the result of a prideful conglomerate
embodying a competitive internal structure and divisive culture so strong that it was unable to fully

The Contributions Of James Madison Essay
When most people think of the founding fathers, they think of people such as George Washington.
He was the leader of the Continental Army during the American Revolution and the first President
of the United States of America. He was nicknamed The Father of His Country for his contributions
and leadership during the American Revolution. Some could mention the second President of the
United States, John Adams, who also led in persuading the Continental Congress to declare
America s independence from Great Britain, while others could also mention Thomas Jefferson,
who was the third President of the United States and the author of the United States Constitution.
However, many overlook the contributions of the fourth President of the United States. Before he
took office as Commander in Chief in 1809, he made a great deal of contribution to the American
government as most know it today. An argument can be made that James Madisonwas the most
influential of our founding fathers through him promoting the United States Constitution for
ratification through the writing of the Federalist Papers, drafting as well as promoting the
inclusion of a Bill of Rights in the United States Constitution, as well as being responsible for the
creation of what is known today as the Republican Political Party. The Constitution would be
finalized and submitted to the states for ratification in September of 1787. While most expected a
revised version of the Articles of Confederation, many were

Psychoanalysis Of Psychoanalysis
Psychoanalysis was founded by Sigmund Freud to make the unconscious conscious. His aim was
to gain insight into the unconscious and repressed thoughts, feelings and motivations of people in
order to help them understand. Freud focused on bringing the repressed internal conflict (such as
development issues or trauma) to a conscious place where the person can easily deal with it. Art
is one way in which the individual can express his deepest thoughts by unravelling one s inner
feelings, making them visible and vulnerable. When a work of art is created by an artist it reflects
his/her beliefs and morale which in turn helps us understand and interpret it more clearly.
Frida Kahlo
55 works out of 143 paintings by Frida Kahlo have been devoted to her self portraits. This has led
analysts to believe that these expressions of art were important to the artist herself and not
particularly created for the pleasure of others. Self portraits are mostly associated with
psychoanalysis because they reflect mental complexities and in Kahlo s case are an indicative of
the ups and downs in her life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike her other paintings, she paints herself with short hair and in men s clothes (probably
Rivera s judging from the size). This is her way of identifying with Rivera by using short hair as
a symbol to represent her husband. This mental imagination formed in her unconscious is a sign
of great loss in her life. In Freudian psychoanalysis, what the individual emphasize through his
words and imaginations is what has been absent in his real life and reaching it appears to be
difficult. This work by Kahlo shows a loss of her beloved, whom she has sought to fill in her mind
through the short hair. He relates this to the early childhood oral stage stating the artist is
compensating the physical loss of her mother

Inspector Calls Themes
In the play An Inspector Calls , Priestley included 2 main themes: the general contrast and
responsibility. The first theme: general contrast was perhaps the most applied throughout the play,
such as in: the young age vs. the old age, the upper class vs. the lower class, the reality vs. the
predictions of the characters, in addition to socialism vs. capitalism. The young characters: Sheila
and Eric sympathized passionately with Eva unlike the elders: Gerald, Mr. and Ms. Birling. At an
unpredictable move, the young ones turned out to be matured enough to realize their guilt, to the
extent of them arguing and shouting at their own narrow minded parents. The elders their parents
in specific, believed that their social status deflected them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The second contrast lies between the upper and lower class. Priestley differentiated Eva Smith
from Daisy Renton; for each symbolizes a different social status Eva represented the struggling
workers while Daisy represented the pregnant prostitutes. Synecdoche was used in Edna, the
maid and Eva Smith to signify the working class, and the lowest class using Daisy Renton and
her unborn baby John. Mrs. Birling kept lowering the importance of girls in lower classes by
saying Girls from that class to indicate that she remained entirely untouched by Eva s death, to
extent of her ignoring and underestimating how desperate she was for love, money and
assistance. The other contrast content was rather ironic; it s regarding Mr. Birling s judgments.
Priestly used allusion to refer to the World War 2 and to the Titanic s famous sinking; in which he
denied that both would happen; I m talking as a hard headed man of practical man of business ...I
say there isn t a chance of war referring to World War 2 that actually happened and regarding the
Titanic unsinkable, absolutely unsinkable that also sank. This emphasizes what a narrow minded,
pompous snub Mr. Birling was. The final contrast could be presented between socialism and
capitalism. Mr. Birling

Millennials In The Workplace By Simon Sineks
In the interview Millennials in the workplace, Simon Sineks (2016) shows his empathetic and
humorous side by describing Millennials in general. He then chooses to recognize the ones
apart of the workforce today and focus on that set of individuals. He does this by highlighting
behind the scenes as to why Millennials behave the way they do. He states his four main points
of 1 Parenting, 2 Technology, 3 Impatience, and 4 Environment (2016, time). What Simon Sinek
s states throughout the interview is totally relatable to me as a millennial due to my behaviors
and habits. So yes, I agree with his main points as to why Millennials are the way they are.
However, to add I believe that technology and environment are the two main important factors in
having children not fully develop their best possible selves. To understand this better you have to
consider the individuals who live in third world countries compared to the United States. Sineks
(2016) explains his main points using examples of any person who uses their cell phones and
social media. Many can accuse Millennials of this habit because yes, we are always on our
phones. However, this also affects children born during generation X. The two key points that stand
out the most are technology and environment. They both have a way of intertwining problems
which affect the way millennials maintain their lifestyle. My point of view of technology is that it
is very addicting. I wake up each and every morning and check my

How Far can Individuals Influence an Orgnization s Culture
Drawing on scholarly articles and theories discussed throughout the module, critically examine how
far individuals can influence an organisation s culture
In the modern, world the bonds of organizations share our lives: from being born in a hospital,
entered into the registry of birth, marriages and deaths which tracks the entire populace and
changes in it. Almost every aspect of our everyday life and, indeed, our deaths will be shared by
organization of one kind or another. (Clegg. et al, 2011 p.6). Humanity is the linchpin of any
establishment, which itself was made for human beings. Range of organizational culture, which they
bring to the organization is very wide, it is determined by the uniqueness of each person. Genetic
base is unique to each individual, and explains some of the differences of people. Individuals who
fall into the cycle of different environments and situations can change their individual
characteristics. One of the definition of organizational culture is that Organization culture a set of
shared, often implicit assumptions, beliefs, value, and sense making procedures that influences and
guides the behavior and thinking of organizational members, and is in turn continuously enacted
and reinforced or changed by the behaviour of organizational member (Martin and Fellenz, 2010
p.481). The following essay will evaluate that how far individuals can determine an organization s

The Orca Ordeal Essay
The latest animal rights issue to hit the public is a whale of a controversy. For decades, the public
has enjoyed visiting SeaWorld and taking in mesmerizing displays of aquatic performance by
orcas, the largest species of dolphins, and their trainers. Recent events have stirred up a media
uproar over the safety of these creatures and their trainers. Much of what the public knows about the
maltreatment of these creatures comes from a documentary released in 2013 called Blackfish . The
breeding and captivity of killer whales for entertainment purposes poses a threat not only to the
whales, but also the trainers who interact with them.
Observations show that orcas suffer from significant health and emotional issues while in captivity.

Being very emotional creatures, captivity denies orcas the emotional connections that they thrive
on. Killer whales form pods in the wild. These groups can be anywhere from 5 orcas to 50. Having
strong emotional attachment to their young, these pods place their safety as top priority. Calves
stay with their mothers until the age of four or later. For entertainment purposes, SeaWorld
separates pods and places calves with different mothers to create the most convenient pod to
display in shows (Cowperthwaite). Though they deny it, they attempt to play God by mixing
and matching orcas to create new families, all for the purpose of show business. Blackfish shows
footage of a mother orca going into extreme depression after being separated from her calf.
Captive environments, such as SeaWorld in Orlando, San Antonio, and San Diego or Loro
Parque, in Spain, fail to create a realistic and natural seeming environment. Orcas need large open
spaces to swim, and tanks cannot provide the size and diversity that an environment should have.
Tilikum, perhaps the most famous of SeaWorld s orcas, experienced lack of stimulation when he
was forced to spend his nights in a 20x20 foot metal box like tank with two other orcas. This
environment did not provide light or room to move around; he would be found in the morning with
injuries from other whales kept in the same quarters (Cowperthwaite). SeaWorld currently allows

The Psychological Effects Of Smoking
One thing that smoking affects that a lot of people do not think about is how it affects the people
around the smoker, not only in a physical way but emotionally also. According to a study, kids
whose parents smoke are three times more likely to smoke when they get older. If smokers have
kids, smoking around them increases their risk of having ear infections, asthma and other breathing
problems that include coughs, shortness of breath, and even bronchitis. It s not just children that
are at risk of lung and heart problems, it s every person around a smoker that are put at risk due to

a neighbor s burning cigaretteor from a cigarette outside your window. Over time, it takes a toll
on people s lungs and has been found to increase the risk of having a stroke by 20 30%

for dogs increases the risk of them getting lung cancer and nasal cancer, especially long nosed

Do Violent Video Games Have An Impact On A Person s...
Introduction People play video games mainly for entertainment. It s just like a hobby such as
bike riding, fishing, and swimming or playing sports. Video games are also a form of art
through which you can experience a story interactively and can also challenge you mentally
through using problem solving skills to work through difficult scenarios. Some video games are
even designed to be a fictional representation of life, allowing the player to experience or do
things they would never be able to do in real life. In a society where we are responsible for our

actions. One of the main reasons that attract people to certain games is the inclusion of violence.

Summary Of Chivalry In The Film Excalibur
How respectful, strong and loyal are knights? People characterize knights as these three elements,
but did they actually possess these traits? Respect, strength, and loyalty are defined by the term
chivalry, in which only the noblest of knights showed. In the film Excalibur it informs watchers the
life of the great King Arthur. Arthur was one of the strongest, most honest, and bravest of all the
knights in the film. His life was a roller coaster, unknowing that the family he grew up with wasn t
really his. He became a squire who trained to become a knight and stumbled across the Excaliburin
which was stuck in a stone implanted by his father. Right as Arthur pulled the sword from the stone
he became the king. Furthermore, the film discusses major events that took place in his life.
Excalibur shows chivalry at the scenes of the round table, knights finding holy grailfor king, and the
battle against Mordred.
The film first illustrates chivalry by a scene where knights sit around a round table. The type of
chivalry that this scene shows is respect. Arthur built a castle for himself and the kingdom, in
which he placed this table in the center of the castle by itself. Most tables that leaders sit at are
rectangular, in which they sit on the ends, representing that they have the most power amongst the
people. However, Arthur uses a round table to speak to his men. He does this because he respects
their opinion and wants each of the men, including himself, to have an equal amount

Literary Devices In Llake By William Blake
Jerusalem by William Blake, the title of this poem, references the city of Jerusalem. The holy
land for the Christian and Islamic religion. William Blake was religious during his lifetime (as it
showed in many of his poems) and it was said that he had visions of god and archangels in his
childhood. So as simple as the title may seem, it symbolizes the ideas that Blake had towards
religion. Blake might also talk about how England invaded Jerusalem, and it would depend on his
viewpoint, if he thinks of it positively, or something that goes against his beliefs. It could also be
an ode to Jerusalem, as previously mentioned, William Blake was very religious and this poem
could demonstrate his appreciation towards God.
The speaker in the poem talks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cognitive Therapy The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their
lives by altering their attitudes of mind. William James (Whitbourne, 2011)
When we hear the word cognitive, several words come to mind such as, reasoning, thinking or
learning. It sends implications of a person s conscious intellectual ability that contribute to the
academic, social and occupational success of that individual. It even correlates directly with a
person s logic and reasoning skills ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I arrive in the session without any preconceived notions about Bruce although his history of
slanderous behavior toward male classmates is well known around the school. It is my
perception that he s appearing to gain control of his environment by presenting strong front with
this bullying behavior especially since recently injuring his knee during a football game and
being unable to participate in sports. I am very interested to find out in our initial session about
where his thinking process was derived and if he is aware where many of his behaviors may be
centered around. It became evident after listening to Bruce discussing his upbringing that many of
his influences directly affect the content of his thinking and behaviors. Living in a strict, Catholic
military home, he was constantly told statements like children should be seen and not heard
respect adults no matter what circumstances and real men aren t sissies. On the other end of the
spectrum his mother is an alcoholic and he spent quite a bit of his childhood caring for her and
scared he would find her dead after she went on a drinking binge. He did

The Intellect Organism Of The Ecosystem Essay
Something that many people might not know is that we humans, are made up of organisms and
we also are the intellect organism of the ecosystem. Since we are the intellect organism, this
makes us responsible for the survival of nature and ecosystem. A lot of this generation has
forgotten about our ancestors who once lived like all other animals in ecosystem. These
ancestors would hunt for food and rely on the land for water, shelter and other basic needs.
Nevertheless, with time men have evolved and slowly distance themselves from nature. We
seem to now think we no longer need nature or ecosystem for survival. On the contrary, we only
exist because of nature and ecosystem. Society needs to acknowledge this and start working
towards ways to incorporate ecosystem in our daily lives as an essential; one way we can start
is by conserving one of earth s most valuable natural resource, water. What is the one thing
humans, plants, and animals all have in common? We all need water in order to survive. Water
is essential for the growth of greenery and it keeps all mammals bodies working properly.
Mammals bodies cannot survive without water for more than ten days. Water is, in the blood,
which carries oxygen to all the tiny cells in the body, without these cells the body will shut down.
Water also helps with the digestive system to digest the food we eat and the removal of waste
through urine and bowel movements. More than one billion people on Earth already lack access to

How Is Odysseus Mortal
Fellow teammates,
I understand that we are dead, and in the underworld, but I still want to recognize a special
compeer. He was our saviour. It is the well known prodigious mortal Odysseus King and ruler of
Ithaca. Throughout our voyage he has shown optimism and grit to return to Ithaca. He has never
given up. In my opinion, I believe that Odysseus is a dexterous mortal.
For first, he has never given up on or transgressions that has ended up with us all out of misery. I
am sorry for him that he has supported us. If y all still remember the time when we got with the
Cyclopes? Well, Odysseus had a choice to let us all be eaten since he was the one chosen to be

pigs. Once Eurylochus left to find help, Odysseus came to save us. He came alone, knowing the

eternity.
For the last reason, Odysseus is a stupendous mortal because his intelligence almost got us
forward. What I mean by almost is because remember when we ate that cattle? He warned us for
this, but our stupidity kept us from staying alive and so we unfortunately passed away and came
here to underworld. He was warning us all dangers. If we would ve listened, we could ve stayed
alive, supporting him and not down here missing our families. He even kept reminding us of
dangers ahead if we touch the cattle. We all died and our voyage was lost forever. I also
understand that some of you travellers may think that Odysseus is not an incredible mortal because

Heroism As A Hero
As Mahatma Gandhi once said Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an
indomitable will. Heroes don t always have to be on the big screen like in movies or shows. Being
a hero involves wanting to do good in life and reaching goals. For this is the way true heroes are
brought to light. Heroism involves the act of sacrificing for the good of others and being
courageous but, it does not always lead to a great success in the end. Heroes sacrificethemselves to
help benefit others and to follow through achievements. Like during the hard times of 9/11, a man
named Vincent Ardolino sacrificed himself in order to save the people of his community. While he
was rescuing, he said Take me now, leave them here. This shows that he was willing to stand up,
work through challenges, and sacrifice himself which is what a true herowould do. Another man
named Captain Vikram Batraalso sacrificed himself to help his fellow companions. While he and
his crew were climbing up a mountain to reach their enemies during war, he got injured. Even
though he got hurt, this did not hold Batra back from saving his officer who was severely
injured too. Another man of his crew attempted to save the officer but Batra did not allow since
he could ve gotten really hurt. Then he saved his officer but ended up dead. He sacrificed his all
in order to keep his crew safe and protected. His actions brought him to light and showed that he
was a hero. Furthermore, real heroes do all they

Mary Had Been Immaculately Conceived Without Original Sin
Roman Catholic Church proclaimed that Mary had been immaculately conceived without
original sin or its stain, which is a corrupt nature due to the original sin. This is call the doctrine
of the Immaculate Conception. It was officially defined by Pope Pius IX in 1854. The reference
for the doctrine is Luke 1:28. When Gabriel said to Mary that she was highly favored and blessed
among women, Mary herself was troubled and considered what such salutation meant. The angel
explained in verses 30 33 that such greeting was given because Godhad chosen her as the mother of
the messiah. The Catholics deduce the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception from the
interpretation of highly favored and blessed, which went too far from the context. It is not clear
why the Catholic Churchclaims such a strange doctrine. A Catholic priest argued that Mary should
be free from original sin so that Jesuscould be free from original sin and that God graciously and
miraculously made Mary without original sin. If Mary immaculate condition was necessary for
Jesus immaculateness, Mary s parents should have been immaculate. Or, if God... Show more

centering it on the person of Christ manifested in his mysteries. The Catholics do pray to Mary.
They made Mary a divine being. It is an idolatry. They call Mary the Mother of God as if she has
divinity. When Elisabeth greeted Mary saying the mother of my lord should come to me, Mary
replies, My spirit rejoices in God my savior. Mary knew that she was a human being who needed a

Difference Between Freewill And Determinism
Every day, we are faced with what we believe to be choices.
Definition: freewill could be described as...
Those that say we have libertarian freewill argue that we do have the morally significant kind of
free will but that determinism is false. For these people, freewill is incompatible with determinism.
They believe in individual liberty and personal responsibility. They believe that when we act
freely, we are not subject to cause. We have the right to blame or praise the person for their choice.
People like to think that they are the authors of their own actions. They like to believe that people
can be responsible for their actions and even that they can have the will for specific actions.
From a purely metaphysical perspective, if we don t have free will, why are ... Show more content

They believe that God has given us the ability to choose for ourselves what to do. People who
believe in freewill assume that there is something more to us than just the combination of genetic
and physical influences that affect our actions.
Someone who believes that everything is determined and that we do not have morally significant
freedom could be called a determinist. They would argue that everything that happens can be
explained by previous causes. By saying that we have freewill would be saying that we are
somehow unaffected by the causal chain of events.
Science is increasing showing that what we do is causally determined, that there are underlying
causes in our brains.
The physical world is deterministic. Mental states are brain states, brain states are biological states
and biological states are physical states.
This means that our decisions would be just a lot of consecutive physical events in our brains that
lead to a specific outcome.
Those who reject freewill believe that an individual s actions are merely a product of the individual
s genetic make up and environmental influences

Haircut Saga Case Study
Delving into the Trinity Grammar haircut saga, during the crisis phase, there are several concerns
which enraged the stakeholders, namely the School Council s decision to sack Brown, its passive
attitude, and empty promises. While the trigger event was unstable, the suddenness and negativity
impacted attribution. Using the three attribution dimension, the Trinity Grammar haircut saga dons
a high personal control, low external control, and a locus in the actor which could strengthen the
perception of intentional actions by the School Council (Coombs 2004, p. 268). To interpret the
situation, crisis communicators should resort to the assessment of crisis type in order to correctly
specify the emphasis of evaluation (Druckman, cited in Coombs 2004, p. 269). Brown s dismissal

High Turnover Is Tactical Work
Analysis Entry Phase According to Robinson and Robinson (2008), the issue of high turnover is
tactical work because it focuses on the design and implementation of solutions that address the
barriers to successful performance (p. 19). This tactical work can be reframed to focus on
lowering the turnover rate of engineers so that half the engineers stay with the company and do
not quit within the first two years and as a result, innovative products are produced. Assessment
Phase One obvious factor of a should assessment is that the company should be creative and not
old fashioned so that products developed are creative which brings about desire for customers to

In advance, prework helps to advance information in future communications. Therefore, more
knowledge is gained through questionnaires sent prior to personal interviews. The next factor is
to seek answers as to the current state of work accomplished by engineers in the gap analysis to
identify strengths and weaknesses in frequency and skill levels. An IS assessment focuses does
not focus on the star employees or the managers, but on the group of engineers. Barriers and signs
of inefficiency indicate gap areas of needed improvement. Again, questionnaires may gain insight
as to how the engineers do their jobs and comparisons can be made to the star employees and
managers. It is advisable to interview the managers of the average engineering groups in addition to
questionnaires to yield more valuable data. Two sources of data is adequate and within reason in
regard to time and budget constraints. Questionnaires are a good start because of the direct
information sought and interviews allow for follow up questions and more detailed data. It is
important that employees are provided confidentiality agreements and given the option on whether
or not to participate. A Likert scale allows for easy computations of the questionnaires, because the
low numbers indicate failures and the high numbers mean successes. The last assessment involves
identifying the causes in order to seek solutions. The data retrieved from the questionnaires and
interviews provide

Power through Position:
How the United States Strategically Forged the Free University of West Berlin
The year was 1948, and the Soviets were holding control of West Berlin with a strategic blockade
(Granieri 1035). Since the Soviets had full control of East Germany, establishing themselves as a
powerhouse was a priority. However, the United States had another idea in mind, one that did not
include giving up their West Berlin territory. A new initiative was underway, an operation to get
supplies from the United States to West Berlin (Granieri 1035). Actions taken by military
personnel and representatives from both nations can be looked at like playing a game of chess: by

The Free University was going to bring with it a new dynamic to an old West Berlin. Originally,
the idea behind the university was to bind together West Berlin with the western powers who
controlled it; a goal to westernize and make anew a post industrialized society by creating new
urban neighborhoods and roads that promised more logistical presence, due the increase in
automobiles throughout the growing microcosm that this territory embodied (Baird 69). In addition
to the external city improvements, the university promised to be an institution of grand proportion
with Candilis, an original architect and creative thinker behind the Free University, writing, The
total floor area required in the first state is approximately 1,000,000 sq. ft. In this project lecture
halls account for 176,000sq. ft. informal teaching and seminar rooms for 428,000 sq. ft.
recreational space for 120,000 sq. ft. (369). The University promised to be enormous. Instructions
given to the architects to design such an edifice were passed down from western governments,
guaranteeing the Free University s presence would be known to everyone in Berlin because of the
radical democratic ideals that were promised be taught (Anthon 58). This university was going to

The Year I Would Not Say 2003
I would not say 2003 was my brightest year. Actually, I do not think I had that yet but it was the
year I started to notice how terrible the public school system in the city of Saint Louis could be.
Not to say every teacher didn t care but, it was something special about the teachers I encountered
in this year. A certain I don t care attitude that they gave off. This was never more apparent than in
my 6th grade homeroomclass at Froebel elementary.
My homeroom teacher, Mr. Harris, a six foot tall elderly man stood up from the faded brown chair
pointing his wrinkled index finger at every single word on the chalk board in front of me and
the tired class. His greyish black mustache slowly rose from his mouth as he said the goal for the
day. Just do something! he shouted as he pointed at the board. He always had an attitude when
he was speaking to the class for some reason. His wrinkled Blue dress shirt and dark brown pants
was a perfect representation of his attitude, bland. I know you all are going to sleep and laugh
through the whole day. So do the other teachers a favor and don t snore loud. He said turning his
face to us. His glasses looked as old as he was. The black paint on them began to chip showing the
hidden metal frame as the light from the ceiling shined down on his wrinkled brown face. He rarely
smiled but today he chose to because it was a special day and boy was it pleasant . His teeth were
yellow and I could smell his breath from the middle of

by using data, website information, and law books to show that this law is ineffective and only
used to racially profile innocent people. Another thing about the stop and frisk this police

Marble And Depicting 10 Individual Reliefs
The piece, Sarcophagus of Junius Bassus, is constructed of marble and depicts 10 individual
reliefs, separated by columns. The figures in each subsection occupies most of the frame , with
each figure s head nearing the top of the low hanging ceiling . This height leads to non idyllic
proportions throughout the piece, with some people standing only 5 heads tall and with heads
thicker than their torsos. This disproportion leads to the belief that human anatomy was not the
priority of the sculptor, but rather the narrative of the overall piece, with no individual subsection
dominating the composition. The first subsection in the top left shows a bearded man and his right
hand outstretched to the left side of the canvas, with his other hand hovering over a kneeling child,
with another man standing behind him and some small animal, possibly a lamb, standing beneath
the outstretched hand. According to Stokstad, this may be a depiction of the Binding of Isaac, in
which Abraham passes the test of faith and willingly goes to sacrifice his firstborn son, Isaac,
before divine intervention gives him a lamb as a replacement (Stokstad 168). This conclusion is
consistent with the depiction, allowing the viewer to conclude that the outstretched hand is likely
holding a knife and the figure present in the background is an angel, delivering the lamb in tribute.
The subsection below the Binding of Isaac shows a seated man with a face of anguish, with two
others standing over him, apparently

People barely can walk, hands become crippled, etc. The Minamata patients also have to spend their life going to hospitals as no cure for this disease. Furthermore, the application to get the Certification is too difficult. The government should make it easier as the patients already suffered from the disease. The Japan State also needs to conduct the comprehensive health survey. The survey is quite important. No official survey was conducted until now. The significance to the story of Miss Johnson and the detailed description of her appearance is that Miss Johnson was the young boy s chance to get away from isolation and get a chance to fit in with society. To the narrator, Miss Johnson represents some sort of freedom, that which makes one feel accepted and welcomed by everyone, and Miss Johnson makes the young boy feel that. All the boys like Miss Johnson, including the young boy which gives the feeling that he s fitting in with society and is being accepted as an equal to everyone else. 2a) There are many themes present in this which are isolation, immigration and identity. A quote that shows this imagery is: Now stray comets and satellites were flashing past our windshield as the moon balanced in the vastness of space, grew larger and larger, until with a bump and a lurch we touched down and opened our eyes to see its surface unfurled beside us; and when we had removed our safety straps and taken off our shoes and packed ourselves carefully into our spacesuits, we stepped out into space, our bodies moving weirdly because of the lack of gravity, and set off like tiny gods across the watercolour strangeness of the moon. This quotation is full of imagery which portrays the beauty of outer space and the moon. The comets and satellites flashing past the windshield with the moon in sight shows the nature of outer space and its vastness of space . The only thing i can do then, is to give up on sleeping. Watch the TV, or anything to get my mind to stop wandering. Ernest Hemingway never fails to make you think deeper thoughts when reading his works. This is the case In Ernest Hemingways a clean well lighted place is a short story about two waiters, and an old, deaf man in a late night cafe. The young waiter is tired and impatiently waiting for the old man to leave so he can go home. The older waiter tries to explain to him why the old man is there at the cafe instead of a bar or bodegas. The short story is a set of dialogs, and within these we learn that some need a safe haven for their despair. Some need a clean and orderly place to contradict the dirty, unorganized mess they have in their head. Hemingway s short story is about loneliness and despair. To start with, the setting of this story takes place in what is most likely Spain. The title plays a big role in the setting. The older waiter is trying to communicate the reason the man is there in the middle of the night, and that is because the cafe is in fact a clean, well lighted place. The lightness and order are the reasons he is there. He could go anywhere else to drink, but he is an old deaf man that is there to get away from the darkness of the night. NUMMI s effectiveness was evidenced by the drastic change in output quality, employee morale, and overall cost but while these great outcomes were recognized by GM, they were hardly leveraged. What supported these results were exactly the factors that radically set NUMMI apart from the rest of the GM family. He was nicknamed The Father of His Country for his contributions and leadership during the American Revolution. Before he took office as Commander in Chief in 1809, he made a great deal of contribution to the American government as most know it today. An argument can be made that James Madisonwas the most influential of our founding fathers through him promoting the United States Constitution for ratification through the writing of the Federalist Papers, drafting as well as promoting the inclusion of a Bill of Rights in the United States Constitution, as well as being responsible for the creation of what is known today as the Republican Political Party. His aim was to gain insight into the unconscious and repressed thoughts, feelings and motivations of people in order to help them understand. Freud focused on bringing the repressed internal conflict (such as development issues or trauma) to a conscious place where the person can easily deal with it. Art is one way in which the individual can express his deepest thoughts by unravelling one s inner feelings, making them visible and vulnerable. When a work of art is created by an artist it reflects his/her beliefs and morale which in turn helps us understand and interpret it more clearly. Frida Kahlo 55 works out of 143 paintings by Frida Kahlo have been devoted to her self portraits. The first theme: general contrast was perhaps the most applied throughout the play, such as in: the young age vs. the old age, the upper class vs. the lower class, the reality vs. the predictions of the characters, in addition to socialism vs. capitalism. The young characters: Sheila and Eric sympathized passionately with Eva unlike the elders: Gerald, Mr. and Ms. Birling. At an unpredictable move, the young ones turned out to be matured enough to realize their guilt, to the extent of them arguing and shouting at their own narrow minded parents. The elders their parents in specific, believed that their social status deflected them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second contrast lies between the upper and lower class. Priestley differentiated Eva Smith from Daisy Renton; for each symbolizes a different social status Eva represented the struggling workers while Daisy represented the pregnant prostitutes. Synecdoche was used in Edna, the maid and Eva Smith to signify the working class, and the lowest class using Daisy Renton and her unborn baby John. Mrs. Birling kept lowering the importance of girls in lower classes by saying Girls from that class to indicate that she remained entirely untouched by Eva s death, to extent of her ignoring and underestimating how desperate she was for love, money and assistance. The other contrast content was rather ironic; it s regarding Mr. Birling s judgments. Priestly used allusion to refer to the World War 2 and to the Titanic s famous sinking; in which he denied that both would happen; I m talking as a hard headed man of practical man of business ...I say there isn t a chance of war referring to World War 2 that actually happened and regarding the Titanic unsinkable, absolutely unsinkable that also sank. • 34. Millennials In The Workplace By Simon Sineks In the interview Millennials in the workplace, Simon Sineks (2016) shows his empathetic and humorous side by describing Millennials in general. He then chooses to recognize the ones apart of the workforce today and focus on that set of individuals. He does this by highlighting behind the scenes as to why Millennials behave the way they do. He states his four main points of 1 Parenting, 2 Technology, 3 Impatience, and 4 Environment (2016, time). What Simon Sinek s states throughout the interview is totally relatable to me as a millennial due to my behaviors and habits. So yes, I agree with his main points as to why Millennials are the way they are. However, to add I believe that technology and environment are the two main important factors in having children not fully develop their best possible selves. To understand this better you have to consider the individuals who live in third world countries compared to the United States. Sineks (2016) explains his main points using examples of any person who uses their cell phones and social media. Many can accuse Millennials of this habit because yes, we are always on our phones. However, this also affects children born during generation X. The two key points that stand out the most are technology and environment. They both have a way of intertwining problems which affect the way millennials maintain their lifestyle. My point of view of technology is that it is very addicting. How Far can Individuals Influence an Orgnization s Culture Drawing on scholarly articles and theories discussed throughout the module, critically examine how far individuals can influence an organisation s culture In the modern, world the bonds of organizations share our lives: from being born in a hospital, entered into the registry of birth, marriages and deaths which tracks the entire populace and changes in it. Almost every aspect of our everyday life and, indeed, our deaths will be shared by organization of one kind or another. (Clegg. et al, 2011 p.6). Humanity is the linchpin of any establishment, which itself was made for human beings. Range of organizational culture, which they bring to the organization is very wide, it is determined by the uniqueness of each person. Genetic base is unique to each individual, and explains some of the differences of people. Individuals who fall into the cycle of different environments and situations can change their individual characteristics. One of the definition of organizational culture is that Organization culture a set of shared, often implicit assumptions, beliefs, value, and sense making procedures that influences and guides the behavior and thinking of organizational members, and is in turn continuously enacted and reinforced or changed by the behaviour of organizational member (Martin and Fellenz, 2010 p.481). • 36. The Orca Ordeal Essay The latest animal rights issue to hit the public is a whale of a controversy. For decades, the public has enjoyed visiting SeaWorld and taking in mesmerizing displays of aquatic performance by orcas, the largest species of dolphins, and their trainers. Recent events have stirred up a media uproar over the safety of these creatures and their trainers. Much of what the public knows about the maltreatment of these creatures comes from a documentary released in 2013 called Blackfish . The breeding and captivity of killer whales for entertainment purposes poses a threat not only to the whales, but also the trainers who interact with them. Observations show that orcas suffer from significant health and emotional issues while in captivity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being very emotional creatures, captivity denies orcas the emotional connections that they thrive on. Killer whales form pods in the wild. These groups can be anywhere from 5 orcas to 50. Having strong emotional attachment to their young, these pods place their safety as top priority. Calves stay with their mothers until the age of four or later. For entertainment purposes, SeaWorld separates pods and places calves with different mothers to create the most convenient pod to display in shows (Cowperthwaite). Though they deny it, they attempt to play God by mixing and matching orcas to create new families, all for the purpose of show business. Blackfish shows footage of a mother orca going into extreme depression after being separated from her calf. Captive environments, such as SeaWorld in Orlando, San Antonio, and San Diego or Loro Parque, in Spain, fail to create a realistic and natural seeming environment. Orcas need large open spaces to swim, and tanks cannot provide the size and diversity that an environment should have. Tilikum, perhaps the most famous of SeaWorld s orcas, experienced lack of stimulation when he was forced to spend his nights in a 20x20 foot metal box like tank with two other orcas. This environment did not provide light or room to move around; he would be found in the morning with injuries from other whales kept in the same quarters (Cowperthwaite). Respect, strength, and loyalty are defined by the term chivalry, in which only the noblest of knights showed. In the film Excalibur it informs watchers the life of the great King Arthur. Arthur was one of the strongest, most honest, and bravest of all the knights in the film. His life was a roller coaster, unknowing that the family he grew up with wasn t really his. He became a squire who trained to become a knight and stumbled across the Excaliburin which was stuck in a stone implanted by his father. Right as Arthur pulled the sword from the stone he became the king. Furthermore, the film discusses major events that took place in his life. Excalibur shows chivalry at the scenes of the round table, knights finding holy grailfor king, and the battle against Mordred. The film first illustrates chivalry by a scene where knights sit around a round table. The type of chivalry that this scene shows is respect. Arthur built a castle for himself and the kingdom, in which he placed this table in the center of the castle by itself. Most tables that leaders sit at are rectangular, in which they sit on the ends, representing that they have the most power amongst the people. However, Arthur uses a round table to speak to his men. These ancestors would hunt for food and rely on the land for water, shelter and other basic needs. Nevertheless, with time men have evolved and slowly distance themselves from nature. We seem to now think we no longer need nature or ecosystem for survival. On the contrary, we only exist because of nature and ecosystem. Mary Had Been Immaculately Conceived Without Original Sin Roman Catholic Church proclaimed that Mary had been immaculately conceived without original sin or its stain, which is a corrupt nature due to the original sin. This is call the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. It was officially defined by Pope Pius IX in 1854. The reference for the doctrine is Luke 1:28. When Gabriel said to Mary that she was highly favored and blessed among women, Mary herself was troubled and considered what such salutation meant. The angel explained in verses 30 33 that such greeting was given because Godhad chosen her as the mother of the messiah. The Catholics deduce the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception from the interpretation of highly favored and blessed, which went too far from the context. It is not clear why the Catholic Churchclaims such a strange doctrine. A Likert scale allows for easy computations of the questionnaires, because the low numbers indicate failures and the high numbers mean successes. The last assessment involves identifying the causes in order to seek solutions. The data retrieved from the questionnaires and interviews provide ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 55. United States Strategically Forged The Free University Of... Power through Position: How the United States Strategically Forged the Free University of West Berlin The year was 1948, and the Soviets were holding control of West Berlin with a strategic blockade (Granieri 1035). Since the Soviets had full control of East Germany, establishing themselves as a powerhouse was a priority. However, the United States had another idea in mind, one that did not include giving up their West Berlin territory. A new initiative was underway, an operation to get supplies from the United States to West Berlin (Granieri 1035). Actions taken by military personnel and representatives from both nations can be looked at like playing a game of chess: by taking actions and calculating risks, each side will show their ... Originally, the idea behind the university was to bind together West Berlin with the western powers who controlled it; a goal to westernize and make anew a post industrialized society by creating new urban neighborhoods and roads that promised more logistical presence, due the increase in automobiles throughout the growing microcosm that this territory embodied (Baird 69). In addition to the external city improvements, the university promised to be an institution of grand proportion with Candilis, an original architect and creative thinker behind the Free University, writing, The total floor area required in the first state is approximately 1,000,000 sq. ft. In this project lecture halls account for 176,000sq. ft. informal teaching and seminar rooms for 428,000 sq. ft. recreational space for 120,000 sq. ft. (369). The University promised to be enormous. Instructions given to the architects to design such an edifice were passed down from western governments, guaranteeing the Free University s presence would be known to everyone in Berlin because of the radical democratic ideals that were promised be taught (Anthon 58). • 56. The Year I Would Not Say 2003 I would not say 2003 was my brightest year. Actually, I do not think I had that yet but it was the year I started to notice how terrible the public school system in the city of Saint Louis could be. Not to say every teacher didn t care but, it was something special about the teachers I encountered in this year. A certain I don t care attitude that they gave off. This was never more apparent than in my 6th grade homeroomclass at Froebel elementary. My homeroom teacher, Mr. Harris, a six foot tall elderly man stood up from the faded brown chair pointing his wrinkled index finger at every single word on the chalk board in front of me and the tired class. His greyish black mustache slowly rose from his mouth as he said the goal for the day. Just do something! he shouted as he pointed at the board. He always had an attitude when he was speaking to the class for some reason. His wrinkled Blue dress shirt and dark brown pants was a perfect representation of his attitude, bland. I know you all are going to sleep and laugh through the whole day. So do the other teachers a favor and don t snore loud. He said turning his face to us. His glasses looked as old as he was. The black paint on them began to chip showing the hidden metal frame as the light from the ceiling shined down on his wrinkled brown face. He rarely smiled but today he chose to because it was a special day and boy was it pleasant . His teeth were yellow and I could smell his breath from the middle of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 57. Stop And Frisk Thesis The law of stop and frisk gives police the constitutional right for a brief and limited search of the outer garments for weapons only if they have reasonable suspicion that the person is involved in a crime. My thesis statement is that The enforcement of this law is unfair to black and latino males who seem to make up 90 percent of those stopped by police. I intend to prove this thesis statement by using data, website information, and law books to show that this law is ineffective and only used to racially profile innocent people. Another thing about the stop and frisk this police investigation tool is making people feel like prisoners in their own communities. They can t come and go as they please without fear about getting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 58. Marble And Depicting 10 Individual Reliefs The piece, Sarcophagus of Junius Bassus, is constructed of marble and depicts 10 individual reliefs, separated by columns. The figures in each subsection occupies most of the frame , with each figure s head nearing the top of the low hanging ceiling . This height leads to non idyllic proportions throughout the piece, with some people standing only 5 heads tall and with heads thicker than their torsos. This disproportion leads to the belief that human anatomy was not the priority of the sculptor, but rather the narrative of the overall piece, with no individual subsection dominating the composition. The first subsection in the top left shows a bearded man and his right hand outstretched to the left side of the canvas, with his other hand hovering over a kneeling child, with another man standing behind him and some small animal, possibly a lamb, standing beneath the outstretched hand. According to Stokstad, this may be a depiction of the Binding of Isaac, in which Abraham passes the test of faith and willingly goes to sacrifice his firstborn son, Isaac, before divine intervention gives him a lamb as a replacement (Stokstad 168). This conclusion is consistent with the depiction, allowing the viewer to conclude that the outstretched hand is likely holding a knife and the figure present in the background is an angel, delivering the lamb in tribute. The subsection below the Binding of Isaac shows a seated man with a face of anguish, with two others standing over him, apparently ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
