The Massacre of Captain John Gunnison and his Explorers in...
Two events took place in the mid 19th century in the United States that set the stage for a third which
became an historic turning point in American history. The settlement of Mormons in Utah and their
pursuit to establish their own government coupled with explorations to develop the transcontinental
railroad laid the groundwork for the massacre of Captain John Gunnison and his explorers in 1853
which took eight lives. As massacres go, the loss of eight people was not numerically remarkable.
What made the Gunnison Massacre exceptional is that it catapulted into the American conscious. Both
Mormons and American Indians entered the spotlight of American attention, and the resulting outrage
forever changed American sentiment and government ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Corps described the topography, route, buildings and culture of an assigned survey area, made
sketches of routes and distances, noted important observations, and kept a journal of daily movements
when the army was on the march. To accomplish this, such an expedition team would typically include
surveyors, a geologist, botanist, astronomer, meteorologist and an artist. Transcontinental railroad
After the United States acquired so much more territory, the push for expansion accelerated and
spurred development of an American transcontinental railroad line. The California Gold Rush of 1848
fanned the flames of westward exploration and settlement. One of the biggest challenges was finding
the most suitable route. Businessmen were eager to expand their horizons and capitalize on new
western markets. In 1845, an early proponent of a transcontinental railroad, Asa Whitney, led an
exploratory team along the route he envisioned from Chicago to northern California. As a highly
successful dry goods merchant and locomotive manufacturer in New Rochelle, New York, Whitney
traveled widely to solicit support from other businessmen and politicians. He proposed selling land to
settlers along the route to finance construction. Whitney printed maps and pamphlets and submitted
several proposals to Congress. He was thwarted, however, by southern business interests who opposed
his plan because they would not

Personal Statement On Self Promotion
The self is constantly changing throughout our lifetimes. Every experience has the opportunity to
change how we will behave and think from then on. We discover our selves through different ways,
and every journey of discovery is unique for each person. Introspection, self promotion, self
verification, self esteem, as well as social comparisons all factor into how we view ourselves. When
we engage in introspection, we are taking a moment for ourselves to meditate upon who we think we
are. This can be challenging for some people. Asking close friends and family for their view is an
alternative to better understand who you are as a person. As everyone has his or her own personal
schema, our own one might be too clouded to properly view ourselves. Self promotion is one
technique that adolescents engage in order to boost their self image to other adolescents; adults use
this technique throughout their lives as well. It is frequently used at company functions, job
interviews, even at family reunions. No one wants to be that cousin. Self verification is also important
in the life of high school students. One student may agree with the alpha male or female that the item
of current inspection is lame or out of fashion simply to get an in with the head of the group. Self
esteem is the level of how we view ourselves. It is common to hear about this person or that person
having low self esteem or high self esteem. Their respective social standing seems to correlate with
their level of

The Basics Of Running And Its Benefits
Research Paper Topic: Running
Learning about the basics of running and its benefits could positively impact your life. Running is a
fairly common task that many of us learn at a young age. We practice running after we master walking
as babies or toddlers, chase or get chased by our siblings or enjoy it on the school playground during
recess. Then we progress to P.E. class, track and field days or cross country meets. Whether running is
a sport we pursue in school or not, it can be a learned fact or hobby that anyone can perform! There
are many known benefits of running, and as stated, anyone at any age can learn and enjoy. It has been
named the world s most accessible sport. Running dates back extremely far in history as related to
hunting and other religious festivals. While it might look very different in terms of fashions, trends
and GPS watches, I believe the form of running probably hasn t changed. To begin running, you
simply need to place one foot in front of the other and go! It is encouraged to exercise proper form to
maximize your experience and to gain the full affect. You should focus on holding your head up high
and looking forward. Shoulders will be relaxed, torso stretched and tall, which will result in the hips
being in alignment. Your arms will be bent and relaxed while your ankles project you forward. There
are certain styles of foot strikes that runners make; pronated, supinated or neutral. Also known by your
gait, your foot strike may or may not be

Artemis s Role In The Trojan War
Artemis was the Greek goddess of childbirth, chastity, virginity, hunting, and wild animals. Artemis
held so much power, she was capable of killing, plaguing, transforming people, or even healing, which
arguably makes her one of the most powerful Greek Goddess s.
Artemis s birth is associated with some conflict, as some accounts affiliate her to be siblings to
Athena, Ares, and Demeter. However, most professionals state she is the daughter of Zeus and Leto
and she is the twin sister of Apollo. This is the general knowledge everyone knows and agrees on.
While Leto, Artemis s mother, was pregnant with her. Hera was Zeus s wife and one of his early
lovers.. She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She took the side of the Trojans. Just as her mother and brother did. They were widely popular and
very well known amongst the people of Troy. On the Greek s journey to Troy, Artemis held the sea at
a standstill which halted the journey. This was until an Oracle came and said they could win the
goddess s heart by sacrificing another goddess s daughter (Mythology).
Along with Artemis s power and skill, she was a perfectionist. In one myth, it is told that her brother,
Apollo, challenged her to prove her ability to shoot a bow and arrow. The challenge was held at sea,
and was that whoever could hit the distant target won the challenge. Artemis s power was so great, and
her aim was so perfect, that she hit the target flawlessly. No matter what she did, she had to make sure

Intro About a year and a half ago I was training pretty hard to get into shape for the fire academy here

running any more. Well, One of those days I went on an uphill run with a 20lb weight pack and
experienced some pain in my left knee, about a month later It still hurt so i went to the doctor and after
an MRI it was determined that I may have torn my meniscus and I would not be able to attend the
academy until it healed. Today im going to go over some knowledge I gained about these types of

Anti Gun Control
Due to recent mass shootings in the U.S. many Americans fear for their safety. Many Americans fear
to go out to movie theaters, restaurants, and even their children s schools. In the article Will Sikh
temple shooting spark U.S. conversation on gun control , Peter Greier claims Americans are deeply
split about the prospect of new gun laws, and tragic events such as recent mass killings do not change
voter opinions. Gun control laws should be any more strict because it would be violating the Second
Amendment and the right to bare arms to protect yourself against criminals.
To begin with, taking away a citizens right to bare arms is a violation of ... Show more content on

Being forced by law to leave her fire arm locked away in her car, she didn t know this particular time
would be the best situation to use it. Her lunch would be interrupted by a criminal with a gun. She
watched as he shot each victim one by one. Including her own parents. Had she possessed her gun in
this instance these tragic deaths may not have occurred.
However, not all guns should be aloud and open to the public. In most cases assault weapons are used
in mass shootings. In California it is illegal to own any gun with with an AK/AK15. Assault weapons
are unnecessary to defend yourself. Sometimes all it takes to defend yourself is just revealing your fire
arm. For example Appalachian School was being targeted by a shooter when a few brave students
showed enough courage to run out to their cars and grab their fire arms. These students were lucky to
prevent any deaths from happening.
Furthermore, more gun laws would not stop a criminal from possessing a gun. Criminals already don t
obey the law. Background checks are an absolute must. Background checks should prevent a gun from
getting in the wrong hands of the wrong person. Many criminals clan they like the gun control laws
because it leaves the victim helpless and without a gun. If every home had a gun, less criminals feel
power over victims by possessing a gun. By everyone having a gun, it equalizes the un equal.

Hard Times Sissy And Bitzer Analysis
In Dicken s Hard Times two characters Sissy and Bitzer are compared early in the novel. Dickens
comparison is used to further the theme that a person needs both fact and fancy to have a morally
developed personality. Dickens does this by portraying the effects of a life raised on only facts
compared to a life raised on a combination of fancy and facts. Later this comparison continues
showing how much Sissy has improved the lives of others, compared to Bitzer, who has ruined the
lives of others. By having Sissy represent a life of fancy and fact, and Bitzer represents a life solely of
fact than comparing the two Dickens is able to show the reader that facts may be nice to know, but
someone can not only have facts without fancy. This is seen

Then I must know about who is going to vote me and why they going to vote me. The most important
thing is the money spent before the election. You need your family, friends and supports of your
people. Then I must make a fundraising plan in a specific way. The number of vote is also affected by
the money spend. So, it is the important part of the election. So firstly, I need to ask for all the people
that I know and tell about them everything and Ask them for a fund to support me and win the
election. So, time investment plays a very important rule during this period. I need to ask the for a
commitment in a specific amount and then collected in a funding account. It is not possible only my
presence so, I must make a fund team through which collect large amount of money from large place.
I have provided them with my campaign literature and my resume. Sometimes I need to organize an
event or a home parties to gather the people so that they support me. In this way I hope I can raise my
money for the election.
There are lots of interest group that I found, I must contact those interest group which thoughts and

The Progressive Montessori School System
Perhaps it was an unintentional cruelty on the part of my parents to enroll me first in the progressive
Montessori school system that encouraged critical thinking and creativity, followed by an evening
catholic school program that required unquestioning obedience to a monolithic religious dogma. When
I began the sixth grade the window of an English professor and a family friend gave me access to his
extensive library and personal text notes because of my growing interest in literature. In the first few
months of my library visits, the Catholic program phoned my mother to discourage my further
attendance in both the church and the educational program. I had begun incessantly probing my young
Catechism instructor about the faith, and his unsatisfactory response had prompted my protests and
refusal to participate in any religious ceremonies or sacraments. I had discovered both the Antichrist
and Civil Disobedience during my forays into the library, and though I was unable to grasp the
intricacies of these texts, the basic messages resonated with my experiences of perceived oppression
and religious conditioning. The library was my Pandora s Box, and it allowed me to escape into places
and ideas far removed from what I thought to be a banal existence in a small historic village in the
Appalachian Mountains. My youthful rebellions, and inquisitiveness, though often misguided and
misplaced, were not to be tempered in my adult life. As a high school student I was emboldened by an

Robert Peary Research Paper
On April 6, 1909, Robert Peary planted an American flag on the top of the world. Peary had wanted to
travel north since his youth. He had tried the journey years before but had to retreat. This time, he
believed he had reached the North Pole. Or had he? How would he know?
2As a Smithsonian historian explains, it can be difficult to know when you have reached the North
Pole because it lies on drifting sea ice . . . there is no way to mark the spot, because the ice is
constantly moving. Years ago, when Peary traveled, it was difficult to confirm exact measurements.
Peary marked his position by noting shadows made by the sun. Peary was the only person who knew
how to navigate on the journey. No one could check his measurements.

Diversity Reflection Analysis
Over the course of the semester, I had the privilege of spending my Monday afternoons with children
at Discovery Elementary School in St. Cloud. I assisted in looking after the kids during their after
school program, Kidstop, and my responsibilities ranged from consoling teary eyes to assisting with
the reading of a girl attending Spanish immersion school. I genuinely enjoyed cultivating relationships
with curious kids from numerous diverse backgrounds. Throughout my volunteering experience, I
utilized teaching styles and knowledge gained in Education 111 to include diverse learners, create a
safe learning environment for everyone, and communicate effectively with students.
The first standard effective procedure (SEP) I utilized during my volunteering at Discovery was
accommodating diverse learners (SEP 3). This SEP requires educators to recognize the diversity in
their classroom and effectively address and include their multiple groups. The sub SEP I used is 3.4H,
which states that educators must understand diversity and actively provide connections into the
curriculum. To me, this SEP is important because it centers around refusing to be colorblind and
ignoring the various backgrounds in a classroom. Growing up in Sartell, this SEP vastly improved my
ability to recognize and embrace diversity. Throughout my own education, I was exposed to some
economic diversity, but I met few people with a race or ethnicity significantly different than my own.
At Discovery, I was

Questions And Questions On Debating Skills
1.3.2 Debating skills
As a result of the activities and assessments in the program, the students learns how to pursue their
arguments. The skill to argue about the point of view helps them in becoming a good advocate of
healthcare quality, risk, and safety. For example, this skill provides the students with ability to present
their view to a CEO of an organization during a 5 minute encounter in an elevator (p3:52).
The students learn how to solve a complicated problem through the research and creative thinking
skills and through ability to chunk an argument in a new way but also forced the students to think and
understand both sides of an issue (p6:3). The students learn to write a solution by arguing on the
opposing ideologies of the issue. The skill student learns as a result of the debate is way to challenge
thinking of the superior management and direct the decision which is better for the patient (p3:67,
p6:5).
Some instructors make them fight on an argument and pull the students out of their comfort zones, so
the students can learn to manage a tense situation. After the sessions of the debates and argumentation
the students feel happy and they love (the debate session) (p6:16). Other participant described that the
debates is equally liked by him/her and the students. He/ She randomly distributed students into the
groups for and against a given topic and then moderate the debate. At the end of the debate, the
winners were chosen by the students. The

Technology is an important aspect of American culture. It is no longer just a tool for the outside world,

schools around the nations have been moving towards a paperless environment. I believe this is a
change for the better. Technology provides opportunities that before would never have been thinkable.

Excessive Pride In The Iliad
Excessive pride Excessive pride seems to be the core of people s everyday struggles. Having
excessive pride can turn into being obnoxious and self centered. Believing in what you only say and
not being opened minded to the people around you could also have an outcome of disastrous events.
In the novel the iliad by Homer many characters struggle with this trait, some overcome it and some
feed into it. In the beginning of the book Agamemnon seems to be self centered with the way he leads.
Achilles tries to defend the people by exclaiming why it s wrong for agamemnon to take all the prizes
that his men have worked for. Agamemnon basically thinks he has higher seniority which means he
gets to pick the best prizes to have amongst his men that they worked for. When achilles doesn t agree
with this he threatens to leave and agamemnon says Fly if you will, I shall make you no prayers to
stay you. I have others here who will do me honor, and above all Jove, the lord of council. After the
war began He realized he shouldn t have underestimated the trojans, for the achaeans were now losing
against them. Later on in the book he puts his pride aside and asks achilles to come back and help
them with the war. This shows when realizing what is better for his men he puts all aside for the win
of the achaeans.
In book II, Jove sends a lying message to Agamemnon saying he will help them sack Troy and that
Jove promised him that ,he would, if he went. Agamemnon having no thought about

Personal Responsibility Pros And Cons
Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA)The United
States took on a major reform of the social welfare system with the passing of thePersonal
Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act (PRWORA), signed into law by President Clinton in August
of 1996. This policy essentially changed the nation s social welfare system by replacing a federal
entitlement program for low income families, called Aid to Families with Dependent Children
(AFDC), with the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. The primary focus is
on moving welfare recipients from primarily getting cash assistance to working in order to lower

For example, unemployed workers who receive an unemployment benefit may be able continue to
support their families. Disadvantages:The biggest disadvantage of welfare is its cost to the local
governments that control it. Even with federal support, states feel the burden of welfare in each annual
budget. One of the concerns is that welfare may discourage some recipients to seek work, since an
increase in earnings would exclude them from getting free benefits. Fraud would also be a concern if
someone supplies false information in order to get benefits that they do not qualify for. Alternative:As
an alternative of giving welfare directly to those in need, funding programs that educate on new skills
or help seeking jobs for the unemployed should be implemented. These programs, if implemented, can
show drastic changes in unemployment rates over time. Restrictions on welfare, such as the time
limits for getting unemployment benefits or a maximum monthly food stamp allowance, serve to limit
the government s responsibility in a way that open ended welfare does not. Conclusion: The social
welfare reform has improved tremendously but still has more progress to be

Self Reliance As Defined By Webster s Dictionary
Self reliance, as defined by Webster s Dictionary, is the reliance on one s own efforts and abilities.
Emerson expands on that concept in his 1841 essay entitled Self Reliance. For Emerson, self reliance
has many different facets. His main point is the importance of embracing individuality. He says, not
for nothing one face, one character, one fact, makes much impression on him [man], and another none.
It is not with out pre established harmony, this sculpture in the memory (2). This idea of divine
predestination is central to his argument for believing in oneself. He asks the reader to trust his or her
own thoughts. After all, all great thoughts from all great thinkers were unique to them. The world
could not have benefited from Plato, or Luther, or Christ, if they had not trusted their own instincts
and believed them true for all mankind. These great men were able to live in the world as in solitude,
walking and functioning among others while trusting their own thoughts and accepting the fact that
they were often alone in them. Emerson warns against living in the past, repeating the thoughts of
others. Instead he would rather one live for oneself in the present, for power ceases in the instant of
repose; it resides in the moment of transition from a past to a new state... This one fact the world
hates, that the soul becomes; for that forever degrades the past... (26). Emerson does not mislead his
readers into thinking self reliance will be easy. In fact, he clearly

this Jay uses the car to go over to Jennifer s(friend of Jay s) house. This is where the first conflict in

before she did. Jay says he got there before her because he wanted to hang with Mark, who is Jenn s
brother. Another thing conflicting their testimonies is whether Jay left Jenn s house or stayed there
most of the afternoon. Jenn says that Jay never left till the afternoon, while Jay says he left multiple
times. There is one thing that Jenn and Jay agree on which is Jay left around 3:30pm to 3:40pm.
Although they both agree on this, Jenn says she remembers Jay getting two phone calls from someone
around that time too. The problem with that statement is that the calls could not have been from Adnan

Every since John Ford s 1939 western Stagecoach, the West has been portrayed in art, entertainment,

Journaling Reflection
1. The first resources that I ve learned from this course are using the multiple job websites online, we
ve had excellent communication between classmates on how we can benefit from using these sites out
and look for specific jobs in our area. This will assist in work as a counselor because it will help in my
networking about the city I currently work in and learning about how to make my resume stick out.
The second fact that I ve learned in this course is finding balance in your life so that you can go
through the stay focused, during the semester, we had the good discussion about a thing in our life that
we enjoy. This all comes down to balance and taking care of ourselves so that we can stay sharp
overall. The third fact that I took away from the cause is the process of helping at the veterans in our
community; we talked in this course about resources in our society that will assist people that have
served in the way. Certain things like VA hospitals and helping them deal with their past trauma. The
fourth resource that I took away from this course is learning about the multiple career counseling
theories; this will assist in my communication and helping with my client as it relates to their future
goals. The fourth fact that I learned from this course is the importance of self care and making sure
every day you are taking good care of yourself to function adequately in general. The fifth fact I took

Effects Of Capital Punishment In The Hanging
An eye for an eye, a leg for a leg, and a life for a life? This form of punishment has been traditional
for centuries and still to this day. A life for a life is now sugarcoated with the name Capital
Punishment . Capital punishment is a legal punishment by death for committing a crime. It was
created in hopes that people would fear to commit a crime. Besides its intention, having capital
punishment has actually done the opposite. Statistics show that is not exactly the case. States with the
death penalty have higher murder rates than those who don t therefore, their system is flawed. Not
only that but, capital punishment actually costs more money than caring for prisoners. According to
Death Penalty Information Center Cases without the death penalty cost $740,000, while cases where
the death penalty is sought cost $1.26 million. Maintaining each death row prisoner costs taxpayers
$90,000 more per year than a prisoner in general population. More money is being wasted killing
people than sending them to jail for life. Then there s the psychological effect it leaves. The short story
The Hanging displays the detrimental effects of capital punishment. Capital punishment is inhumane.
The death penalty is a cruel and barbaric form of punishment that takes away the compassion and
mercy from humans. This is shown throughout the story. In The Hanging is said We were waiting

Chapter 2: Regulations and Prudential supervision on commercial banks
This article discusses Commonwealth bank having a systemic fraud and systemic theft. They are lying
to customers and this is a big impact on the customers. The chairman Mark Bishop is struggling to
describe the issue since this is a most trusted financial institution (Ferguson, 2014, para. 1).This
articles relates to studies from Chapter 2 where it discusses prudential supervision and the regulation
of Commonwealth bank because they are not doing the right thing.
The committee is helping Commonwealth bank, financial planning industry and corporate regulator to
get back on track because of the fraud that they have done. As it can be seen in the article that the
regulator needed to know what he was doing and quickly identify the issue. In October 2008, Jeff
Morris notified Australian securities and investments commission (ASIC) about a planner named Don
Nguyen covering up the fraud. An official research happened 16 months later and the customers weren
t impressed.
Under the Corporations Law, ASIC is responsible in consumer protection and market integrity. Due to
financial planning systems, Commonwealth bank has lost a lot of money because of the theft and
fraud. They will lose customers as well due to this situation.

The crèche bodies are made from hemp and wire, the heads are molded out of terracotta with eyes
made of glass, and the hands and feet are carved out of wood. The artists would then use oil paints to
achieve the most realistic expressions and details on the figurines. The figures are flexible so they can
be positioned within the setting. Many of the figures in the crèche wear their original silk garments
made in the royal silk factory in San Leucio. The painstaking details of the costumes are constructed
of luxurious, rich fabrics such as damasks, silks, linens, and laces. One could tell the peasant figures
because they wore simple clothes and had bare feet or sandals. They are wearing muted dirty looking
clothing, but quite possibly even made out of paper. The wealthy and nobility wore regal royal colored
robes, leather shoes and perhaps even a turban or headwear. Their costumes were quilted, embroidered
using gold or silver thread, embellished with silk ribbons, and tiny colored glass beads. Some women
were clothed in lace petticoats, elaborate bustles, and silk lined dresses with metallic lace over skirt.

Why Is Atlanta Important
A tlanta is a very culturally rich and is also full of important history. Atlanta s attractions are known
the world over for its parks, sports teams, shopping, museums, and entertainment. Atlanta was
founded on December 29, 1847 where two railroads meet. It was originally inhabited by Creek and
Cherokee Indians.
In Atlanta I would like to see Stone Mountain, Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site, The
Varsity, and Tech Tower at Georgia Tech. Stone Mountain is the large mass of granite located about 15
miles east of downtown Atlanta is probably the area s most popular landmark. It s hard to miss the

historic site that was established in 1980. The King Center was started by his widow, Coretta Scott
King, who is now buried beside him. Tourists from all over the world make their pilgrimage to the
King Historic Site helping to make it one of the most popular landmarks in Atlanta. Tech Tower is
famous at Georgia Tech, This campus and Atlanta landmark symbolizes Georgia Tech s place in
Atlanta s history and culture. Built in 1888, the Tech Tower is the college s administration building
and main focal point of the campus. The Victorian styled building has the word Tech erected on all
four sides of the central tower. These letters are visible all across campus and from other nearby
vantage points. Stealing the letter T from the tower has long been a campus prank and tradition. The
Tech Tower is another one of Atlanta s most popular landmarks. The Varsity is also famous at Georgia
Tech; The Varsity Restaurant has long been associated with Georgia Tech football games. This well
known Atlanta landmark is popular for its hot dogs, onion rings, drive in service, and colorful staff.

Silver Bullion Bars Research Paper
Electricity is required to make colloidal silver that is pure, because other methods require the use of
chemicals that leave behind contaminants. Thus, the use of electricity is the only way to make correct
colloidal silver that is safe for internal usage. Anything that is added into the solution changes it into
something else. For example, the addition of salt chemically transforms colloidal silver into silver
chloride, which is something that does not have the exceptional safety record of colloidal silver. While
silver chloride is ideal for eye drops, it is nevertheless something that should not be used internally.
The purity of the ingredients is essential for making true colloidal silver, for impurities will transform
the solution into a different substance. Even the minerals in spring water will undergo unpredictable
chemical transformations, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We must warn about the risk of not buying from a reputable seller, because the Chinese have begun
flooding the market with fake bullion bars too, and these cheap lookalikes are everywhere. It is
impossible for a normal person in his home to detect the fakes. Although, the Internet is full of videos
with questionable methods for testing. The most reputable source for buying bullion bars is a bank,
followed by other financial institutions, since they purchase their bullion bars from regulated mints.
Your bank does not obtain its precious metals and currency from Craig s List or E bay, in other words.
You should be just as cautious in acquiring your own bullion bars, for the sake of your family s long
term health. Your family should never be supplementing with cadmium and tungsten from China. One
other consideration to make during the buying process is that not all domestic silver bullion bars are
pure. To ensure purity, buy only silver bullion that has a rating of 999 . Do not accept any other

Brendon Boyd Urie
I m still figuring out who I am, but I know I m not who I was. Brendon Boyd Urie was born on April
12, 1987 in St. George, Utah. He was raised in a very Mormon family, and he is of Hawaiian descent.
Growing up, he loved music, and he was always singing or playing the drums, guitar, or bass guitar.
Naturally, when Brendon got to high school, he desperately wanted to join a band with people who
loved music as much as he did. At Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2004, Brendon
met Brent Wilson, who asked him to be in Wilson s band, since they needed a new guitarist. This band
became known as Panic! At the Disco, a very popular pop punk band today. Although Brendon

titled, Folkin Around. During this time, Brendon also wrote a song called New Perspective for a movie
called Jennifer s Body, he was featured in several Fall Out Boy songs, such as What a Catch, Donnie
and 20 Dollar Nose Bleed, and he helped write a song alongside Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, Cee
Lo Green, and Janelle Monae for the Coca Cola Company called Open Happiness. Also in 2008, he
was featured in several music videos for Fall Out Boy as well, such as the video for their song,
Headfirst Slide into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet. Directly after the tour for Pretty. Odd. in 2009, Ryan
Ross and bassist Jon Walker decided to depart from the band, citing creative differences. Although
Brendon and drummer Spencer Smith were devastated, Brendon encouraged Spencer to stay in the

school is composed of around 1,708 students with my graduating class reaching about 420 kids. The
student to teacher ratio is fifteen to one which is equal to the Pennsylvania average. Not surprisingly,
our school has a 23% minority enrollment ratio which is 8% less than the Pennsylvania average. Also,
only 16% of the students at Central Dauphin qualify for free lunch. When you compare these numbers

It was a big transition for me to come from Central Dauphin to Temple and be surrounded by so many
exceptional individuals. The thing I most valued from this exercise was reiterating the importance of
academics but also learning the worth of social acceptance. It is never okay to judge, make fun of, or
attack someone else for being different from you. Diversity should be celebrated, not hidden.
Although I am thankful for my strong education and the academic opportunities I was given, I think
there is a lot more I need to learn about other cultures and races that could never be learned within the
walls of my high school. I am at college to continue my education but to also start a new journey into

No Big Secret That The Evangelical Community Essay
It is no big secret that the evangelical community played a role in Trump s winning of the election. He
had solid Christian support throughout his campaign; at least so it seemed. Obviously, people of all
sorts Christian or not Republican or not were frustrated at the lack of options. I understand. I was one
of them. People were also rightly concerned about Hillary. They were left with a choice of either
Armageddon or slow rot. Much was at stake especially the Supreme Court. I was in a unique place of
one who has just discovered that the candidate I might have begrudgingly voted for voted for was, in
fact, The Antichrist; a scenario that elevates such decisions to another dimensional reality. After I had
shared my thoughts regarding Trump with several Christians supporting him, I often got the question
posed to me: Well, who do we vote for? As far as I was concerned, the vote was already cast. I knew
the outcome. I would often tell people, If you want to vote for Trump, vote for Trump. You will be
voting for the winner. The voting thing for me was not much of an issue because Trump s win was
predestined.
Revelation 17 speaks of the religious component of The Whore of Babylon; a last days religious
system temporarily in bed with the beast (The Antichrist). Since Rev. 17 is focused primarily on the
whore and not on The Antichrist, I will not be going verse by verse as I did in chapter 13.

  • 2. The Massacre of Captain John Gunnison and his Explorers in... Two events took place in the mid 19th century in the United States that set the stage for a third which became an historic turning point in American history. The settlement of Mormons in Utah and their pursuit to establish their own government coupled with explorations to develop the transcontinental railroad laid the groundwork for the massacre of Captain John Gunnison and his explorers in 1853 which took eight lives. As massacres go, the loss of eight people was not numerically remarkable. What made the Gunnison Massacre exceptional is that it catapulted into the American conscious. Both Mormons and American Indians entered the spotlight of American attention, and the resulting outrage forever changed American sentiment and government ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Corps described the topography, route, buildings and culture of an assigned survey area, made sketches of routes and distances, noted important observations, and kept a journal of daily movements when the army was on the march. To accomplish this, such an expedition team would typically include surveyors, a geologist, botanist, astronomer, meteorologist and an artist. Transcontinental railroad After the United States acquired so much more territory, the push for expansion accelerated and spurred development of an American transcontinental railroad line. The California Gold Rush of 1848 fanned the flames of westward exploration and settlement. One of the biggest challenges was finding the most suitable route. Businessmen were eager to expand their horizons and capitalize on new western markets. In 1845, an early proponent of a transcontinental railroad, Asa Whitney, led an exploratory team along the route he envisioned from Chicago to northern California. As a highly successful dry goods merchant and locomotive manufacturer in New Rochelle, New York, Whitney traveled widely to solicit support from other businessmen and politicians. He proposed selling land to settlers along the route to finance construction. Whitney printed maps and pamphlets and submitted several proposals to Congress. He was thwarted, however, by southern business interests who opposed his plan because they would not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introspection, self promotion, self verification, self esteem, as well as social comparisons all factor into how we view ourselves. When we engage in introspection, we are taking a moment for ourselves to meditate upon who we think we are. This can be challenging for some people. Asking close friends and family for their view is an alternative to better understand who you are as a person. As everyone has his or her own personal schema, our own one might be too clouded to properly view ourselves. Self promotion is one technique that adolescents engage in order to boost their self image to other adolescents; adults use this technique throughout their lives as well. It is frequently used at company functions, job interviews, even at family reunions. No one wants to be that cousin. Self verification is also important in the life of high school students. One student may agree with the alpha male or female that the item of current inspection is lame or out of fashion simply to get an in with the head of the group. The Progressive Montessori School System Perhaps it was an unintentional cruelty on the part of my parents to enroll me first in the progressive Montessori school system that encouraged critical thinking and creativity, followed by an evening catholic school program that required unquestioning obedience to a monolithic religious dogma. When I began the sixth grade the window of an English professor and a family friend gave me access to his extensive library and personal text notes because of my growing interest in literature. In the first few months of my library visits, the Catholic program phoned my mother to discourage my further attendance in both the church and the educational program. I had begun incessantly probing my young Catechism instructor about the faith, and his unsatisfactory response had prompted my protests and refusal to participate in any religious ceremonies or sacraments. I had discovered both the Antichrist and Civil Disobedience during my forays into the library, and though I was unable to grasp the intricacies of these texts, the basic messages resonated with my experiences of perceived oppression and religious conditioning. The library was my Pandora s Box, and it allowed me to escape into places and ideas far removed from what I thought to be a banal existence in a small historic village in the Appalachian Mountains. The first standard effective procedure (SEP) I utilized during my volunteering at Discovery was accommodating diverse learners (SEP 3). This SEP requires educators to recognize the diversity in their classroom and effectively address and include their multiple groups. The sub SEP I used is 3.4H, which states that educators must understand diversity and actively provide connections into the curriculum. To me, this SEP is important because it centers around refusing to be colorblind and ignoring the various backgrounds in a classroom. In the novel the iliad by Homer many characters struggle with this trait, some overcome it and some feed into it. In the beginning of the book Agamemnon seems to be self centered with the way he leads. Achilles tries to defend the people by exclaiming why it s wrong for agamemnon to take all the prizes that his men have worked for. Agamemnon basically thinks he has higher seniority which means he gets to pick the best prizes to have amongst his men that they worked for. Fraud would also be a concern if someone supplies false information in order to get benefits that they do not qualify for. Alternative:As an alternative of giving welfare directly to those in need, funding programs that educate on new skills or help seeking jobs for the unemployed should be implemented. • 18. Self Reliance As Defined By Webster s Dictionary Self reliance, as defined by Webster s Dictionary, is the reliance on one s own efforts and abilities. Emerson expands on that concept in his 1841 essay entitled Self Reliance. For Emerson, self reliance has many different facets. His main point is the importance of embracing individuality. He says, not for nothing one face, one character, one fact, makes much impression on him [man], and another none. It is not with out pre established harmony, this sculpture in the memory (2). This idea of divine predestination is central to his argument for believing in oneself. He asks the reader to trust his or her own thoughts. After all, all great thoughts from all great thinkers were unique to them. The world could not have benefited from Plato, or Luther, or Christ, if they had not trusted their own instincts and believed them true for all mankind. These great men were able to live in the world as in solitude, walking and functioning among others while trusting their own thoughts and accepting the fact that they were often alone in them. Emerson warns against living in the past, repeating the thoughts of others. Instead he would rather one live for oneself in the present, for power ceases in the instant of repose; it resides in the moment of transition from a past to a new state... This one fact the world hates, that the soul becomes; for that forever degrades the past... (26). Emerson does not mislead his readers into thinking self reliance will be easy. The crèche bodies are made from hemp and wire, the heads are molded out of terracotta with eyes made of glass, and the hands and feet are carved out of wood. The artists would then use oil paints to achieve the most realistic expressions and details on the figurines. The figures are flexible so they can be positioned within the setting. Many of the figures in the crèche wear their original silk garments made in the royal silk factory in San Leucio. The painstaking details of the costumes are constructed of luxurious, rich fabrics such as damasks, silks, linens, and laces. One could tell the peasant figures because they wore simple clothes and had bare feet or sandals. They are wearing muted dirty looking clothing, but quite possibly even made out of paper. The wealthy and nobility wore regal royal colored robes, leather shoes and perhaps even a turban or headwear. Their costumes were quilted, embroidered using gold or silver thread, embellished with silk ribbons, and tiny colored glass beads. Some women were clothed in lace petticoats, elaborate bustles, and silk lined dresses with metallic lace over skirt. • 29. Silver Bullion Bars Research Paper Electricity is required to make colloidal silver that is pure, because other methods require the use of chemicals that leave behind contaminants. Thus, the use of electricity is the only way to make correct colloidal silver that is safe for internal usage. Anything that is added into the solution changes it into something else. For example, the addition of salt chemically transforms colloidal silver into silver chloride, which is something that does not have the exceptional safety record of colloidal silver. While silver chloride is ideal for eye drops, it is nevertheless something that should not be used internally. The purity of the ingredients is essential for making true colloidal silver, for impurities will transform the solution into a different substance. Even the minerals in spring water will undergo unpredictable chemical transformations, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We must warn about the risk of not buying from a reputable seller, because the Chinese have begun flooding the market with fake bullion bars too, and these cheap lookalikes are everywhere. It is impossible for a normal person in his home to detect the fakes. Although, the Internet is full of videos with questionable methods for testing. The most reputable source for buying bullion bars is a bank, followed by other financial institutions, since they purchase their bullion bars from regulated mints. Your bank does not obtain its precious metals and currency from Craig s List or E bay, in other words. You should be just as cautious in acquiring your own bullion bars, for the sake of your family s long term health. Your family should never be supplementing with cadmium and tungsten from China. One other consideration to make during the buying process is that not all domestic silver bullion bars are pure. To ensure purity, buy only silver bullion that has a rating of 999 . • 30. Brendon Boyd Urie I m still figuring out who I am, but I know I m not who I was. Brendon Boyd Urie was born on April 12, 1987 in St. George, Utah. He was raised in a very Mormon family, and he is of Hawaiian descent. Growing up, he loved music, and he was always singing or playing the drums, guitar, or bass guitar. Naturally, when Brendon got to high school, he desperately wanted to join a band with people who loved music as much as he did. At Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2004, Brendon met Brent Wilson, who asked him to be in Wilson s band, since they needed a new guitarist. This band became known as Panic! At the Disco, a very popular pop punk band today. Although Brendon entered the band as a guitarist, the rest of the band heard his phenomenal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Autobiography Of Central Dauphin High School School Autobiography Located in the suburban and almost rural parts of Harrisburg sits Central Dauphin High School, one of the largest public schools in the area, and my former high school. The school is composed of around 1,708 students with my graduating class reaching about 420 kids. The student to teacher ratio is fifteen to one which is equal to the Pennsylvania average. Not surprisingly, our school has a 23% minority enrollment ratio which is 8% less than the Pennsylvania average. Also, only 16% of the students at Central Dauphin qualify for free lunch. When you compare these numbers with our sister school, Central Dauphin East High School, there are some surprising results. Central Dauphin East has a 65% minority enrollment rate with ... The thing I most valued from this exercise was reiterating the importance of academics but also learning the worth of social acceptance. It is never okay to judge, make fun of, or attack someone else for being different from you. Diversity should be celebrated, not hidden. Although I am thankful for my strong education and the academic opportunities I was given, I think there is a lot more I need to learn about other cultures and races that could never be learned within the walls of my high school. • 33. No Big Secret That The Evangelical Community Essay It is no big secret that the evangelical community played a role in Trump s winning of the election. He had solid Christian support throughout his campaign; at least so it seemed. Obviously, people of all sorts Christian or not Republican or not were frustrated at the lack of options. I understand. I was one of them. People were also rightly concerned about Hillary. They were left with a choice of either Armageddon or slow rot. Much was at stake especially the Supreme Court. I was in a unique place of one who has just discovered that the candidate I might have begrudgingly voted for voted for was, in fact, The Antichrist; a scenario that elevates such decisions to another dimensional reality. After I had shared my thoughts regarding Trump with several Christians supporting him, I often got the question posed to me: Well, who do we vote for? As far as I was concerned, the vote was already cast. I knew the outcome. I would often tell people, If you want to vote for Trump, vote for Trump. You will be voting for the winner. The voting thing for me was not much of an issue because Trump s win was predestined. Revelation 17 speaks of the religious component of The Whore of Babylon; a last days religious system temporarily in bed with the beast (The Antichrist). Since Rev. 17 is focused primarily on the whore and not on The Antichrist, I will not be going verse by verse as I did in chapter 13.
