Paul The Apostle Was A Very Godly Man One Of Many On Long
Paul the Apostle was a very godly man one of many on long list of godly people who spent their lives
serving God s purpose. Paul was the author of several epistles, writing out the words of God to the
people of the church. Have you ever wondered why Paul wrote out the epistle of Ephesians and the
effects that the letter had on the congregation in which he wrote too? In the book of Ephesians, it is
clearly shown that the Apostle Paul is the indeed the author of the Epistle of Ephesians. Paul s epistles
are intended for all of those who want to know Jesus Christ. The book of Ephesians is surrounded with
the information that shows the discipline in which to develop into a true son and daughter of our Lord
Jesus Christ. Studying the book of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without doubt this was indeed meant for saints that are faithful in Jesus Christ. Paul has gone on
several missionary journeys, Paul first traveled to Ephesus for a short visit closer to the end of his
second missionary journey which was on the positioned on the southwest coast of modern day turkey,
one of the immense cities in that region of the world was Ephesus. The prosperous commercial center
and home for the praising of the goddess Diana is the Roman capital. Even though Paul succulently
studied at the local synagogue with the Jews and was offered to stay for a longer period of time, he
arranged plans to visit them after he traveled to Jerusalem. On Paul s third missionary journey he
returned to Ephesus for a longer time period, and extended stay of three years. After Paul s earlier
success with turning John s twelve disciples, he then spent around three months in the local
synagogues teaching. There was obstruction to Paul s doctrine that forced him to depart from the
synagogues, but for a period of about two years Paul was able to remain teaching in the school of
Tyrannus. The ending affect was the gospel eventually spread from Ephesus throughout Asia Minor.
Eventually with the continuation of some of the local idol maker s disturbances forced Paul to leave
Ephesus. As Paul neared the end of his third missionary journey, he stopped at Miletus, meeting with
the elders of the church of Ephesus. Paul has reminded the elders of his

Teacher and National Development
LITERATURE REVIEW
It is a known fact today that, there is fall, degradation, lost of value in the nation. There is increase in
level of immorality, crime, self centeredness e.t.c which slows down the pace of national development.
Many people attributed this to our system of education as people say No nation can grow above the
level of her education . This is to bring to light the significant of the correlation between the three key
concepts Education Teacher and National Development .
EDUCATION
Education in its broadest, general sense is the means through which the aims and habits of a group of
people lives on from one generation to the next. Generally, it occurs through any experience that has a
formative effect on the way one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The division between primary and secondary education is somewhat arbitrary, but it generally occurs
at about eleven or twelve years of age. Some education systems have separate middle schools, with
the transition to the final stage of secondary education taking place at around the age of fourteen.
Schools that provide primary education, are mostly referred to as primary schools. Primary schools in
these countries are often subdivided into infant schools and junior school.
Secondary school
In most contemporary educational systems of the world, secondary education comprises the formal
education that occurs during adolescence. It is characterized by transition from the typically
compulsory, comprehensive primary education for minors, to the optional, selective tertiary, post
secondary , or higher education (e.g. university, vocational school) for adults. Depending on the
system, schools for this period, or a part of it, may be called secondary or high schools, gymnasiums,
lyceums, middle schools, colleges, or vocational schools. The exact meaning of any of these terms
varies from one system to another. The exact boundary between primary and secondary education also
varies from country to country and even within them, but is generally around the seventh to the tenth
year of schooling. Secondary education

Essay on Immanuel Kant
Immanuel Kant 1724 1804
Immanuel Kant was born on April 22, 1724 in Konigsberg, East Prussia. He was the son of a saddler.
At age 8, he entered the Collegium Fredericianum, a Latin school, where he remained for 8 1/2 years
and studied the classics. He then entered the University of Konigsberg in 1740 to study philosophy,
mathematics, and physics. The death of his father halted his university career so he became a private
tutor. In 1755, he returned to Konigsburg where he later resumed his studies. In 1756, he received a
degree and was made a lecturer, and in 1770 he became a professor.
Kant felt he had to adhere to a very strict schedule during his years as a professor. He would get up
shortly before five ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1798, the year following his retirement from the University, Kant published a summary of his
religious views. He died on February 12, 1804.
During his lifetime, Kant produced many writings. Scholars usually divide his literary career into two
periods: the Pre critical period and the Critical period. During the Pre critical period, 1747 to 1781, he
wrote many non fictional works and criticisms. Some of them were quot;Thoughts on the True
Estimation of Living Forces quot;, quot;On Fire quot;, quot;A New Explanation of the First Principles
of Metaphysical Knowledge quot;, and quot;On the Forms and Principles of the Sensible and
Intelligible World quot;. From 1770 to 1780, he mainly worked on preparing quot; The Critique of
Pure Reason quot;.
The Critical period lasted from 1781 to 1794. During this period, he wrote quot; The Critique of Pure
Reason quot; in 1781, and quot;Foundation for the Metaphysics of Ethics quot; in 1785. Following the
critical works, Kant published quot;Critique of Practical Reason quot;, quot;Critique of Judgment
quot;, and quot;Religion within the Limits of Mere Reason quot;.
Three main discussions of Kant are Duty, the Formula of the End, and the Kingdom of Ethics. Kant
feels that we act morally when we do our duty, however it is important to distinguish between acting
according to duty and acting from duty. Acting according to duty is when someone else has imposed
the duty. This is an

William Penn Influence On Society
On October 14th, 1644, the son of Anglican Admiral Sir William Penn, was born. While persecution
was occurring throughout the world, William Penn founded an American sanctuary which secured
freedom of conscience. As Europeans solved the issue of land with Native Americans by violence,
Penn negotiated peacefully, disarmed. He had advocated for women s equality, presented a written
constitution to Pennsylvania, provided a human penal code, and protected several principal liberties
(Powell).
Penn commenced his education at a local grammar school. Overwhelmed by curiosity, he continued
his studies at the University of Oxford, where he was expelled two years later (1662) due to his
religious rebellions. In an effort to cease his son s revolts, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At that time, Penn was in considerable debt as his plans to sell of land in Pennsylvania did not work to
his advantage, but put him into further debt with the King. Sir William knew he was dying and did not
have much time so agreed to pay off his son s debt in exchange for William to visit him without
persecution. At that time, William Penn was told by his father to never go against his conscious and
instructed his son to not worry about the things he cannot change, ...be not troubled at
disappointments; for if they may be recovered, do it; if they can t trouble is vain (Peare 125).
William Penn arranged a funeral for a hero after his father passed. Prior to his father s passing and
prior to his debts being paid off, William was considered to be underground and hiding from the
collectors and the government, but with his debt paid, he was free to walk the streets without worry of
imprisonment. As the firstborn, William was left the entire estate of his father. Thanks to the
inheritance, he was then free to spend his life dedicated to the cause of the Quakers (Doherty

Ethical Dilemmas Of The Health Care Of Dr. Vivian Essay
All medical providers have a duty to protect the health and dignity of their patients. Even if that is the
intention of the provider, specific ethical dilemmas in healthcare may arise making it difficult for the
provider to make an ethically appropriate choice. Wit, directed by Mike Nichols, takes the viewer
through the healthcare of Dr. Vivian Bearing, an English professor, as she embarks on an eight month
experimental treatment to hopefully cure her stage IV ovarian cancer. As Dr. Bearing undergoes this
treatment, ethical issues arise regarding her healthcare that compromises her well being and dignity.
George D. Pozgar points out that ethics is concerned with values relating to human conduct that
focuses on the rightness and wrongness of actions, as well as the goodness and badness of motives and
ends.1 It is clear in the film that the actions taken by the medical providers, violated ethical principles
within the scope of health care such as patient dignity and respect, patient autonomy, and consent to
research/treatment. According to AAPA, a principal value of healthcare professions is to respect the
health, safety, welfare, and dignity of all human beings.2 It is evident in the film that the team of Dr.
Kelekian and Dr. Posner, who are in charge of Dr. Bearing s treatment, disregards these human rights,
that healthcare providers swear to protect. Throughout the movie, Dr. Kelekian and Dr. Posner view
Dr. Bearing more as a research experiment than a patient. In one

Aztec Economic System
Pre Hispanic Aztecs had an extremely economic based society, with a complex system of trade. Some
people even argue that the Aztecs becoming centralized into city states was just as much do to with
economics as politics, perhaps even more so (Nichols). The central base for Aztec trade was in the
basin of Mexico and consisted of the Triple alliance capitals of Tenochtitlan, Texcoco, and Otumba.
Aztecs had rulers as well as social elites that made alliances with other regions of the empire. Social
elites would form alliances, despite political boundaries, based on trade. Rulers wanted to grow their
power by growing their economic system and gaining control over resources. Aztec city state rulers
taxed their vendors so it was beneficial to them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Early Post Classic Period archaeologists can see where alliances and trade patterns existed with
the two styles of Mazapan/Totlan, and Black on Orange Aztec I ceramics. The Mazapan/Totlan style is
found in the Eastern and Northern Basin while the Black on Orange Aztec I ceramics are found in the
southern Chalco Xochimilco area, in the north central Basin, and farther east (Nichols). The
distribution of these styles and the fact that they generally are not found in the same areas suggests
that they were exchanged in relation to ethnic and/or political ties. In the Middle Post Classic Period
ceramic exports from both the Texcoco, and Tenochtitlan regions increased. During this time Black on
Orange Aztec II ceramics were produced in both the Texcoco and the Tenochtitlan regions. Black on
Orange Aztec II ceramics from the Texcoco region are found at Cerro Portezuelo, while Black on
Orange Aztec II ceramics from the Tenochtitlan region are found in Chalco and Xaltoca (Nichols).
Both of these examples support historical data that both the Texcoco and the Tenochtitlan regions were
spreading their political affiliations during that period of

The Importance Of Representative Democracy
Americans are too dumb for a democracy. The way representative democracy is supposed to work is
pretty simple:you protect the fundamental rights of the minority and the majority of citizens elect
representatives who will pursue the greater good for the greater number of citizens. That would make
sense but lots of citizens don t have a solid grasp on what s going on in the real world. Today elections
are won by politicians striving to make themselves sound approachable rather than smart. in one of

Chapter 8 1,4,5 1. Cray Research sold a super computer to the Max Planck Institute in Germany on
credit and invoiced €10 million payable in six months. Currently, the six month forward exchange rate
is $1.10/€ and the foreign exchange advisor for Cray Research predicts that the spot rate is likely to be
$1.05/€ in six months. (a) What is the expected gain/loss from the forward hedging? The expected
gain from this sale can be figured by using this equation: 10,000,000(1.10
1.05)=10,000,000(.05)=$500,000 expected gain (b) If you were the financial manager of Cray

This amount can be invested at the dollar interest rate for one year which will yield $21,200,000.
Using the forward hedging method, the firm will receive $800,000 more. (b) Other things being equal,
at what forward exchange rate would Boeing be indifferent between the two hedging methods? IRP
says that F = S(1+i$)/(1+iF) so this shows that the indifferent forward rate will be: F = 1.05(1.06)/1.05
= $1.06/€. 5. Suppose that Baltimore Machinery sold a drilling machine to a Swiss firm and gave the
Swiss client a choice of paying either $10,000 or SF 15,000 in three months. (a) In the above example,
Baltimore Machinery effectively gave the Swiss client a free option to buy up to $10,000 dollars using
Swiss franc. What is the implied exercise exchange rate? The implied exercise exchange rate is
$0.6667/SF. (10,00/15,000) (b) If the spot exchange rate turns out to be $0.62/SF, which currency do
you think the Swiss client will choose to use for payment? What is the value of this free option for the
Swiss client? I think the Swiss client should choose the option to pay the SF15,000 because with the
spot exchange rate upping to $0.62, that would make the equivalent of $10,000 up to SF16,129. This
is figured like this: 10,000/.62. (c) What is the best way for Baltimore Machinery to deal with the

In a nutshell, it is because the economic benefits are grossly overstated and are outweighed by the
wide ranging environmental, public health and weapons proliferation problems and risks. Uranium
accounted for 0.19 per cent of Australia s export revenue in 2011/12 (the last available figures)1. By
the most generous estimate, uranium accounts for 0.015% of all jobs in Australia.2 For Queensland,
there is the additional limitation that the state has around just 2% of Australia s uranium resources.
Clearly, the industry has no capacity to deliver significant economic or employment benefits. Instead
of acknowledging the extremely limited economic potential of uranium mining in Queensland, the
LNP state government, the Australian Uranium Association and the Queensland Resources Council
have continued a pattern of extravagant and unsubstantiated claims regarding jobs, revenue and
royalties. Enthusiasm is no substitute for evidence and limited sectoral self interest is not the same as
the public interest. The assumptions and analysis of those promoting the uranium sector in Queensland
needs to be challenged and reviewed.

Calpurnia Motherly Figure
Second of all, I will be evaluating whether Calpurnia or Aunt Alexandra is a better motherly figure for
the two children. To start, Calpurnia is a good motherly figure. Firstly, she took the children to church
on Sunday when Atticus was not home to do so. In the reading it says, How d you and Mister Jem like
to come to church with me tomorrow? (Lee 156). Calpurnia did not only take them to church, but took
them to an African American church, giving the children a new perspective on how life for some
people is, teaching them both the valuable lesson of walking in somebody else s shoes which is also a
major theme in the book. Secondly, Scout found Calpurnia to be good company when Jem decided to
act independent and not spend time with her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We d be glad to have you (Lee 168). To continue, Aunt Alexandra is not as good or a motherly figure.
Firstly, Aunt Alexandra is rude to Calpurnia. In the novel, the first sentence she says to Calpurnia is,
Put my bag in the front bedroom, Calpurnia (Lee 169). Calpurnia is the family cook, not a servant, and
she is also an African American woman. Aunt Alexandra being rude to a black woman could be a bad
influence for the children in the future, where they might think that it is okay to be rude to them
because Aunt Alexandra did it. Secondly, she fights with their father on multiple occasions throughout
the chapters. One example from the reading is, Alexandra, Calpurnia s not leaving this house until she
wants to. You may think otherwise, but I could not have got along without her all these years... If
anything, she s been harder on them in some ways than a mother would have been (Lee 182, 183).
Considering the fact that the children prefer their dad as a parent over Aunt Alexandra, it is inferred
that they would take Atticus side in the argument because they also love Calpurnia, and if Aunt
Alexandra were to take somebody they loved out of their lives, that would make the children hate her

HOW HAS HUMAN ACTIVITY IMPACTED THE DECLINE IN POPULATION OF THE
MACQUARIE ISLAND ELEPHANT SEAL?
Kylie Fraser 16622393
Curtin University
Word Count: 2500
1.0 Introduction
1.1 Problem Statement
Over a century ago the elephant seal population on Macquarie Island survived a period of severe over
harvesting. The practice of hunting seals for food, oil and skins had a high demand in the market and
was largely carried out by Sydney based gangs (Bradshaw et al, 2003). During the early 1900 s
Macquarie Island was declared a nature reserve and the hunting of seals came to a halt. After cessation
of sealing, the population of the elephant seal increased but is still recovering. Over the years, a
notable decline in the population has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was found that after the cessation of sealing, the population on Macquarie Island began to recover.
Hindell and Burton (1988), reviews the history of sealing at Macquarie Island and the number of
elephant seals post sealing and pre sealing, and found that although the population of the elephant seal
slowly recovered, the number of seals that returned to the island was distinctively less than prior to the
commencement of sealing. There is still ongoing research on whether this was due to the seals being
too frightened to return back to the island (Burton Van Den Hoff, 2002).
3.2 Habitat Requirements and Food Source
Research shows that elephant seals come to shore mainly to breed and moult and prefer sandy or stone
beaches (Carrick and Ingham, 1960). On Macquarie Island, the elephant seal breeds mainly on the
northern tip of the island where there is an extensive beach area that is easy for the seals to come
ashore (Carrick and Ingham, 1960). However, dotted around the entire island there are also other
colonies of substantial numbers on other sandy beaches (DPIWE, 2003).
Located south of Macquarie Island are important feeding areas for the elephant seal. The elephants
seal main source of food is deep water squid and fish that is found near shore (Bradshaw et al, 2003).
Research shows that the elephant seal mainly like to

Identities And Differences Between The New England And The...
This paper offers an inside look at how the New England and the mid Atlantic colonies lived, out of
the thirteen that settled, the different events that led to their upbringing, religious identities, and their
day to day lifestyles. Rather, if it was a small difference that the colonist who lived in the same region
were not living the same way their neighbor was, it may have also taken generations for the colonist to
get things up and running, but along the way they learn what is needed to make their new living
situation work. Introduction During the 17th and 18th century, many European countries were
exploring, and at some point end up in the North America, later known as the New World. They were
a total of 13 colonies each with their specific rules and traditions. Each different to the next, but most
were looking for something that couldn t be in their home country, so they came here to find it. Even
some of the land given as a gift and other sadly taken away from native people that were living here
first. Also, not everything was fun and games, slavery, crime, and corruption was happening in the
colonies. Sometimes, there weren t any ways of control everything that occurred, and there were also
unfair laws that would take part by the government. The struggles that the people that lived in the
colonist had to live through and experience are the reason why modern day America is the way it is.

emic approach is how the Tingunee people think, perceive other people, how they behave, and how
they imagine and explain things. I decided to take the emic approach over the etic approach because
the etic approach would involve me emphasizing what I think is important about a culture after

me to be a part of the community while taking in information without bias. After being amerced in the
community with my emic approach, I will be able to determine what distinct cultural characteristics

The Influence Of Drug Use And Abuse
Over the course of the last twenty years, drug usage has changed rather dramatically. From the kinds
of drugs used to their potencies to how much is used, there are multiple factors to observe. Some
drugs that didn t even exist or were almost unheard of that long ago are some of the most abused today
and are growing in popularity. In this essay I will be analyzing how people use drugs differently today
than they did 20 years ago, in 1997, as opposed to how it is used today in 2017. In addition to this, we
will be looking at how this change is affecting society and whether or not we re better off than we
were in the late 1990s. To begin, Let s observe drug usage and abuse in 1997. At this time in the U.S,

Another newer drug and very dangerous drug to gain popularity is synthesized marijuana. Despite all
of this, many some drug usage and abuse hass decreased since 1997. Cocaine use is one of the few
that has gone down considerably, along with alcohol abuse some. Thanks to several anti tobacco
campaigns and similar agendas, tobacco use amongst Americans is declining by quite a bit, and even
more rapidly with teens. To conclude, in 2017 thanks to the efforts of government sponsored
campaigns tobacco and alcohol abuse has decreased dramatically since the 1990s, however newer and
more powerful drugs like methamphetamine and synthesized marijuana have gained in popularity over
the course of 20 years, and other drugs including opioids and heroin the like have grown to become
the most dangerous and most used today. Now we will observe the change in drug abuse from a direct
source. When asked if drugs use has increased or decreased since 1997, both of my subjects agreed it
had increased. When I asked what drugs in particular were more popular, the interviewed went along
with the research and said meth, as well as opioids like heroin. In addition to this, both participants
agreed drugs are more dangerous now more than ever. In particular, one participant said heroin was
the most dangerous drug right now, while the other said heroin and synthetic marijuana. To conclude,

Hatchet Character Analysis Essay
Hatchet Reading analysis At the start of the book Brian is a typical city boy who takes most things in
life for granted. After all the trauma he is forced to go through he sees everything differently. I think
that by the end of the book Brian has changed for the better and becomes a more appreciative person.
The reason that Brian changes is because of his plane crashing which results in him getting stranded in
the Canadian forest. The first mental change that Brian undergoes is after his pilot dies and he has to
land the plane. He manages to escape crashing in a lake, alive and without serious injuries. This made
Brian thankful just to be alive even though he was hurt and in the middle of nowhere. A quote from

different noises that night. The rain was coming in through the broken windows but there seemed to be
a different sort of sound inside the room. The carpet had squeaked when I made my way in and
although it was a definite sound of water I couldn t make out the sound itself. The darkness became
more intense than the sound, and then the sound became more intense than the darkness. What was
happening? I could no longer se then windows. My eyes were stonily fixed to the floor. The carpet
began to rise. The noise became so deafening even with my whole hands over my ears; its fierceness

Then it began, this pungent smell. Then it registered in my mind. I was alongside the canal and it was

a lot of rats! I could only hear the rats, not see. I froze on the chair. The chain began to shake, my

Potato Catalase Lab Report
The scientific purpose of this experiment was to examine the rate of enzyme activity of a potato
catalase when mixing 2.5 ml of potato catalyst with either 2.5 ml of H2O, 2.5 ml of 5% salt
concentration, 2.5 ml of 15% salt concentration, or 2.5 ml of 30% salt concentration. It was
hypothesized that the higher the concentration of salt each catalysts solution contained, the rate of
enzyme activity would decrease when applied to hydrogen peroxide. This was tested by measuring (up
to 240 seconds) in room temperature of 21 degrees Celsius how long it would take for each filter disk
(dosed with the various salt and potato catalase solutions) to float off of the bottom of the beaker that
contained hydrogen peroxide. The results of the experiment showed that enzyme activity decreased
with higher salt concentrations, that being in tube four (which contained 2.5 ml of potato catalase and

Compare And Contrast Jamestown Virginia And Massachusetts...
In the years 1607 and 1630, the world saw the beginning of two very important English colonies;
Jamestown, Virginia and the Massachusetts Bay Colony. England had many reasons behind their
colonization. A major reason was the idea of Mercantilism, a concept in which colonies are said to
exist solely for the benefit of their mother country. The Virginia Company went to Jamestown in 1606
in hope of using the land to cultivate crops and to make a living. In 1630, the Non Separatist Puritans
went to the New England Area in hopes of setting up a religious commonwealth for the people. Unlike
the Separatists of Plymouth, who wanted to separate from the Church, the Non Separatists wanted to
reform the Church under the rule of Governor John Winthrop. ... Show more content on

Due to the fact that the colony of Virginia had a dominant skill, the cultivation of tobacco, which was
introduced by John Rolfe in the year 1611, Virginia had much success. Tobacco was an enumerated
good, which was beneficial because eventually, the Navigation Acts favored the colonies that had
enumerated goods (a good that the colony specialized in). The tobacco cultivation began the year after
the period known as the starving time in Virginia. Our ordinary food was but meal and water so that
this...little relieved our wants, whereby with the extremity of the bitter cold frost...more than half of us
died (Doc 6). John Smith wrote this article 17 years after the foundation of Virginia. He discussed in it
the hardships that the colonists had to go through in order to understand how to achieve a perfect
colony to live in. Jamestown was an aristocratic society because they were based upon a major
plantation economy. The people of Virginia were very selfish and cared more about the individual,
than about their community as a whole. They focused on the Headwrights System, a system in which
the government of Jamestown offered land to every settler that paid for an indentured servant from
England. The indentured servants were told that they would receive land if they worked for seven
years. The lack of land led to a lack of workers, which brought about the lowest class in 1619, the

External Consequences Of Terrorism
Among lots of these outside factors is terrorism because of the unlawful use of violence and
intimidation, particularly against civilians, inside the pursuit of political aims. The oblique outcomes
of terrorism create the maximum danger to the activities of companies and then throughout the supply

created the color coded alerts of the Homeland Security Advisory System (HSAS), which replaced
with the National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) ( National Terrorism Advisory System, 2017).
The NTAS affects the supply chain through possible delays and proactive measures. NTAS gives
detailed information on terrorist risk ranges and recommends security features to the public, authority

Examples Of Flawless Execution
Flawless Execution
There are three elements to flawless execution. The flowing are: Leadership, execution engine, and
foundation. Although, this book is written by a pilot, these elements can be used in any business to
perform substantially. I know a lot of businesses fail to use these steps. I see the importance of these
steps now. That s why Pizza Artista still stands after a year in business and is kicking butt. Leadership
breaks down into three categories. Picture of the future, strategy, and intent. With the picture of the
future, a good leader will get everyone on the same page about it with specific details. Strategy will be
the plan of the organization. It comes with four key questions. What are we going to be in the future as
an organization? What are we going to deploy our resources into or against in order to get there? How
are we actually going to do this? When and how are we going to exit and get out with some style and
finesse? Answering these questions can make a huge difference. Lastly, your intensions. Everyone
needs to know your intentions are about your strategy. Make sure everyone understands what is going
on and why. Otherwise, miscommunication falls into place and things can go wrong. The Execution ...

Genome Manipulation Essay
Targeted genome editing technology is an area of great attention for biomedical research fields, as it
has potential in clinical applications to cure or improve some genetic diseases. In particular, the case
of genome manipulation has been revolutionized by the development of the CRISPR/Cas 9 system.
Despite recent advances in editing targeted genes inside of cultured cells, in vivo targeted transgene
integrations are still out of reach, because of current tools. Principally, this applies to nondividing
cells, which are made up of adult tissues, including the brain, eyes, ears, and pancreas, and halts the
development of treatments for a broad range of genetic disorders. Now, scientists have discovered a
new approach that not only works in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They improved the NHEJ machinery to collaborate with the CRISPR system, allowing DNA to be
inserted at precise locations in the genome, and then inserted an inert virus to deliver HITI s package
of genetic instructions to neurons derived from human embryonic stem cells (...). The innovation
allows the cells to glue the ends of cut targeted DNA back together, with the extra addition of the
DNA template in between the cut targeted DNA, via NHEJ. In the case of the cell re joining without
the added insertion or mutation, the CRISPR system would reform and repeat the process. Likewise,
donor DNA was designed to recreate the cut site, for the situation of the insertion gluing back together
in the wrong orientation.
(CDB, 2017, Scheme of HITI method)
Before HITI, recent techniques in the area of gene editing were focused on using a natural DNA repair
pathway, called homology directed repair (HDR). These systems are targeted at dividing cells, such as
the skin, but has been proven to be ineffective in nondividing cells, and therefore inefficient to provide
solutions to genetic disorders in adult tissue. However, the non homologous end joining (NHEJ)
pathway is an additional natural DNA repair pathway, which is typically unused in gene insertion, as
studies have shown that NHEJ is error prone when used to turn off targeted genes (...). Yet, when used
in insertion of DNA sequences in a gene, NHEJ is highly precise, and more

The Importance Of A Career In Computer Engineering
Ever since the seventh grade I was always interested in building a computer. All my friends were
playing videogames on their computers and, so I wanted to build one. They were way too expensive,
so I never got the chance. I enjoy fixing computers and helping my family with their technical issues.
Everything is run by electronics these days, so I might as well get good at using them and seeing how
they work.
In the career field of engineering, there is a broad field and offers several alternative career paths.
Those interested in working with engineers and developers to create the code for software programs
and systems should consider a career in computer programming. After reviewing plans and
operational diagrams from software developers, programmers use specialized tools and programming
languages to produce the finished product. They also analyze and test existing products to identify and
repair errors ( Alternative Careers ).
Computer hardware engineer is another possible career route in this industry. As the name implies, this
career focuses on creating, improving, and evaluating the various parts that make up the computers
and computer systems such as routers, memory boards, central processing units, video sound cards,
network components, etc. More than likely working in a laboratory building, testing ideas and the
involvement in the manufacturing or the installing aspect of this industry. However, due to industry
focus on advancing software, the BLS projected that

Crocodilians consists of large reptiles which includes alligators, crocodiles, gharials, and caimans.
Squamates are lizards, snakes, and worm lizards. A worm lizard is a subterranean burrowing reptile
that resembles an earthworm, a legless lizard. Tuataras are a group of reptiles that are lizard like in

Amphibians skin is moist and they do not consist of scales. The skin of an amphibian is also
permeable. Permeable means that gases can pass through their skin. A reptiles scales provide them
with a protective layer of skin that is tough and dry. The scales help to minimize the loss of body
moisture, the reptilian scales consists of a protein called keratin. The scale structure of a reptile are not
individual like those of a fish, but are a continuous sheet of epidermal tissue. Hard shelled eggs
provide a protective environment in which the embryo can develop and enables reptiles to lay their
eggs in dry environments. On the other hand, amphibians must lay their eggs in or near water. The
reptilian skeleton differs from other vertebrates in many ways. For example, reptiles have many bones
in their lower jaw to enable them a greater bite mobility, but mammals only have one bone in their
lower jaw called the mandible. Mammals ears consist of three bones(the malleus, incus, and stapes)
while reptiles have just one bone(stapes). Reptiles also have only one occipital condyle(a protrusion
on the skull that forms a joint that enables movement of the head) mammals on the other hand consist
of two occipital condyles (Laura Klappenbach 2014).
Scientists say reptiles evolved from amphibians 340 million years ago. The first reptile was an insect
eater. Reptiles were more adaptable and able to

Symptoms And Treatment Of Psychosis
Typical and Atypical Medication
The first major development in the treatment of psychosis was first generation antipsychotics, which is
known as typical antipsychotics (Guzman Farinde, 2015). In essence, these medications are used to
treat schizophrenia and other associated psychotic disorders. In additions, some of the medications of
the first generation include Haldol, loxitane, orap, mellaril, navane, and trilafon to name a few.
Furthermore, these antipsychotics are considered cheaper than the second generation antipsychotics,
which make them valuable when treating psychotic disorders. Lieberman, Stroup, MsEvoy, Swartz,
Rosenheck, Perkins, and Hsiao (2005) describe the first generation as the best treatment for psychotic
symptoms, because the dopamine receptors elevate similarity in antagonists. The second generation
antipsychotics are consider more effective when it involves serotonin blockers and construct different
levels of blockade in dopamine (Preston, O Neal, Talaga, 2013). In addition, second generation
antipsychotics, which are also called atypical, are prescribe to clients, because they can tolerate them
especially when they decrease certain side effects. Moreover, atypical medication decrease
neuroanatomical changes lessen symptoms that are negative, and enhance cognition. Some of the
second generation medication includes ziprasidone, olanzapine, paliperdone, and clozapine.

Essay On The Sandman
The Sandman, A Hand crafted Nightmare A bedtime story is meant to guide children into a peaceful

The Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt
The Muslim Brotherhood has been part politics in Egypt for more than 80 years. It was originally
formed by Hassan al Banna in 1928. The Muslim Brotherhood is a combination religious and political
group based on the belief that Islam is not just a religion, but a way of life. It dictates a separation
from secularism, returning to the rules of the Quran based on healthy families, communities, and
states. The brotherhood focused on two key principles. They are (1), the introduction of the Islamic
Sharia or way of life or principles, by controlling the affairs of state and society, and (2), working to
achieve unification of the Islamic countries and states, mainly among the Arab states, and liberating
them from foreign imperialism. The group concentrated on religion, education and social services. As
its membership grew, it moved into the political sphere, organizing protests against the Egyptian
government. The Brotherhood is the oldest and largest opposition group in Egypt. It has had
widespread support among Egypt s middle classes, and its members control many of the country s
professional organizations. Up until 2011, under Egyptian law, it banned all parties based solely on
religion. Sayyid Qutb, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in the 1950s and 1960s, developed the
doctrine of jihad, and the radical group Hamas. It is believed to be an offshoot of the Palestinian
Muslim Brotherhood. Egypt s Islamists and the Muslim Brotherhood have a history of perseverance.

This also means that only the people that in all reality, could afford the child they are attempting to
abort, could pay for a doctor proficient enough to do the procedure safely. Before abortions were
legalized, in the 1920 s and 1930 s, groups of people trying to make birth control more accessible to
women, which was highly opposed by the Roman Catholic church (Garrow 835). This shows that
people only see the value of a woman by what she creates and carries in her body, because if people
do not want birth control to be accessible to women, they only want them around to carry children.
Years went by without much luck on the goal of legalizing abortion, for the safety of the mothers or
the mothers well being in general. Until Roe v. Wade. It is a common misconception that Roe v. Wade
was the only court case revolving around abortion occurring at this time, but realistically, there were
dozens. With that being said, it is without a doubt that it was not a fluke. It was not by chance that the
passing of this court case was a one time scenario. If Roe v. Wade had not occurred, there would have
been any of the other cases similar to Roe v. Wade that would have taken its place in the Supreme
court in 1973, when the case was officially votes on and passed, which allowed women to have an
abortion and be in relative privacy if she chose to do so (Garrow 836). This is a revolutionary court

Eve Of Confederation Case Study
On the eve of Confederation the population of what would become Canada went beyond 3,000,000.
Of these, nearly 80 percent lived in Ontario and Quebec. Although cities were growing in the old
centres of Halifax and St. John on the Atlantic, Quebec City and Montreal along the St. Lawrence, and
a strip from Kingston to Toronto along the north shore of Lake Ontario, more than 80 percent of
Canada s people lived an (away from cities) life. They travelled on dirt trails and corduroy roads,
(shook and rolled around really fast) their own butter, sewed their clothing by the dim light of coal oil
lamps and helped grow their farms with (stick with a long, curved knife at the end) and oxen. The

In the meantime, the Sea related areas of a country of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince

Conference in September 1864 was (at first/before other things happened) planned as a meeting to
debate this idea of Sea related union. Macdonald, Cartier and Brown invited themselves to the
(meeting to discuss things/meeting together) to try to sell their idea of a larger union of all the British
North American (groups of people or other living things). For seven days they took control of the (list
of things to deal with/desire to reach a goal) and made their convincing arguments. The main points of
the Canadian proposal were continued loyalty to Britain; a strong federal government, but (related to a
local area) control over local affairs; representation in the Lower House or Assembly based on
population; and an Upper House or Senate to provide (related to a large area) representation. Many of
the same issues were still being discussed at the second Charlottetown Conference in 1992. Not all

Nelson Mandela s Civil Disobedience Essay
Nelson Mandela, a civil rights activist once said, I have fought against white domination, and I have

How The Roman Catholic Church s Stance On Peaceful...
Conversion in Medieval Iberia can invoke ambivalent feelings. Christians originally wanted to convert
Jews and Muslims through kind words and religious teachings from the Bible. This idea, nevertheless,
evolved over the centuries and Christians began converting non believers through violence and
compulsion. Also, even after individuals were converted, Christians did not fully trust their
motivations, and believed they would remiss into their old religions. While Marian miracles did help
alleviate these tensions, a number of vicious acts were committed against Jews and Muslims during
this time period. In this essay, I am going to examine the idea of conversion from the Christian
perspective, and how Christians were able to tempt Jews and Muslims to convert. I am also going to
compare the contradictory nature of converting through peaceful and violent means. This comparison
will showcase how the Roman Catholic Church s stance on peaceful conversion was overcome by
local Christian communities. Conversion is the act of changing one s religion to another religion.
During the twelfth to fifteenth century in Medieval Iberia, a number of Jews and Muslims converted to
Christianity. To Christians, conversions represented the elimination of dangerous enemies and the
ongoing triumph of the new Israel. Christians viewed themselves as the chosen people, as they
believed that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save them, and formed a new covenant, while the Jews
spurned him and

During the Pre critical period, 1747 to 1781, he wrote many non fictional works and criticisms. Some of them were quot;Thoughts on the True Estimation of Living Forces quot;, quot;On Fire quot;, quot;A New Explanation of the First Principles of Metaphysical Knowledge quot;, and quot;On the Forms and Principles of the Sensible and Intelligible World quot;. From 1770 to 1780, he mainly worked on preparing quot; The Critique of Pure Reason quot;. The Critical period lasted from 1781 to 1794. During this period, he wrote quot; The Critique of Pure Reason quot; in 1781, and quot;Foundation for the Metaphysics of Ethics quot; in 1785. Following the critical works, Kant published quot;Critique of Practical Reason quot;, quot;Critique of Judgment quot;, and quot;Religion within the Limits of Mere Reason quot;. Three main discussions of Kant are Duty, the Formula of the End, and the Kingdom of Ethics. Kant feels that we act morally when we do our duty, however it is important to distinguish between acting according to duty and acting from duty. Acting according to duty is when someone else has imposed the duty. This is an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While persecution was occurring throughout the world, William Penn founded an American sanctuary which secured freedom of conscience. As Europeans solved the issue of land with Native Americans by violence, Penn negotiated peacefully, disarmed. He had advocated for women s equality, presented a written constitution to Pennsylvania, provided a human penal code, and protected several principal liberties (Powell). At that time, William Penn was told by his father to never go against his conscious and instructed his son to not worry about the things he cannot change, ...be not troubled at disappointments; for if they may be recovered, do it; if they can t trouble is vain (Peare 125). William Penn arranged a funeral for a hero after his father passed. • 6. Ethical Dilemmas Of The Health Care Of Dr. Vivian Essay All medical providers have a duty to protect the health and dignity of their patients. Even if that is the intention of the provider, specific ethical dilemmas in healthcare may arise making it difficult for the provider to make an ethically appropriate choice. Wit, directed by Mike Nichols, takes the viewer through the healthcare of Dr. Vivian Bearing, an English professor, as she embarks on an eight month experimental treatment to hopefully cure her stage IV ovarian cancer. As Dr. Bearing undergoes this treatment, ethical issues arise regarding her healthcare that compromises her well being and dignity. George D. Pozgar points out that ethics is concerned with values relating to human conduct that focuses on the rightness and wrongness of actions, as well as the goodness and badness of motives and ends.1 It is clear in the film that the actions taken by the medical providers, violated ethical principles within the scope of health care such as patient dignity and respect, patient autonomy, and consent to research/treatment. According to AAPA, a principal value of healthcare professions is to respect the health, safety, welfare, and dignity of all human beings.2 It is evident in the film that the team of Dr. Kelekian and Dr. Posner, who are in charge of Dr. Bearing s treatment, disregards these human rights, that healthcare providers swear to protect. Throughout the movie, Dr. Kelekian and Dr. Posner view Dr. Bearing more as a research experiment than a patient. In one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some people even argue that the Aztecs becoming centralized into city states was just as much do to with economics as politics, perhaps even more so (Nichols). The central base for Aztec trade was in the basin of Mexico and consisted of the Triple alliance capitals of Tenochtitlan, Texcoco, and Otumba. Aztecs had rulers as well as social elites that made alliances with other regions of the empire. Social elites would form alliances, despite political boundaries, based on trade. The distribution of these styles and the fact that they generally are not found in the same areas suggests that they were exchanged in relation to ethnic and/or political ties. In the Middle Post Classic Period ceramic exports from both the Texcoco, and Tenochtitlan regions increased. During this time Black on Orange Aztec II ceramics were produced in both the Texcoco and the Tenochtitlan regions. To start, Calpurnia is a good motherly figure. Firstly, she took the children to church on Sunday when Atticus was not home to do so. In the reading it says, How d you and Mister Jem like to come to church with me tomorrow? (Lee 156). Calpurnia did not only take them to church, but took them to an African American church, giving the children a new perspective on how life for some people is, teaching them both the valuable lesson of walking in somebody else s shoes which is also a major theme in the book. Secondly, Scout found Calpurnia to be good company when Jem decided to act independent and not spend time with her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We d be glad to have you (Lee 168). To continue, Aunt Alexandra is not as good or a motherly figure. Firstly, Aunt Alexandra is rude to Calpurnia. In the novel, the first sentence she says to Calpurnia is, Put my bag in the front bedroom, Calpurnia (Lee 169). Calpurnia is the family cook, not a servant, and she is also an African American woman. Aunt Alexandra being rude to a black woman could be a bad influence for the children in the future, where they might think that it is okay to be rude to them because Aunt Alexandra did it. Secondly, she fights with their father on multiple occasions throughout the chapters. One example from the reading is, Alexandra, Calpurnia s not leaving this house until she wants to. You may think otherwise, but I could not have got along without her all these years... If anything, she s been harder on them in some ways than a mother would have been (Lee 182, 183). Kylie Fraser 16622393 Curtin University Word Count: 2500 1.0 Introduction 1.1 Problem Statement Over a century ago the elephant seal population on Macquarie Island survived a period of severe over harvesting. The practice of hunting seals for food, oil and skins had a high demand in the market and was largely carried out by Sydney based gangs (Bradshaw et al, 2003). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was found that after the cessation of sealing, the population on Macquarie Island began to recover. Hindell and Burton (1988), reviews the history of sealing at Macquarie Island and the number of elephant seals post sealing and pre sealing, and found that although the population of the elephant seal slowly recovered, the number of seals that returned to the island was distinctively less than prior to the commencement of sealing. There is still ongoing research on whether this was due to the seals being too frightened to return back to the island (Burton Van Den Hoff, 2002). 3.2 Habitat Requirements and Food Source Research shows that elephant seals come to shore mainly to breed and moult and prefer sandy or stone beaches (Carrick and Ingham, 1960). On Macquarie Island, the elephant seal breeds mainly on the northern tip of the island where there is an extensive beach area that is easy for the seals to come ashore (Carrick and Ingham, 1960). However, dotted around the entire island there are also other colonies of substantial numbers on other sandy beaches (DPIWE, 2003). This paper offers an inside look at how the New England and the mid Atlantic colonies lived, out of the thirteen that settled, the different events that led to their upbringing, religious identities, and their day to day lifestyles. Rather, if it was a small difference that the colonist who lived in the same region were not living the same way their neighbor was, it may have also taken generations for the colonist to get things up and running, but along the way they learn what is needed to make their new living situation work. In 1630, the Non Separatist Puritans went to the New England Area in hopes of setting up a religious commonwealth for the people. Strategy will be the plan of the organization. It comes with four key questions. What are we going to be in the future as an organization? What are we going to deploy our resources into or against in order to get there? How are we actually going to do this? When and how are we going to exit and get out with some style and finesse? In particular, the case of genome manipulation has been revolutionized by the development of the CRISPR/Cas 9 system. Despite recent advances in editing targeted genes inside of cultured cells, in vivo targeted transgene integrations are still out of reach, because of current tools. Christians originally wanted to convert Jews and Muslims through kind words and religious teachings from the Bible. This idea, nevertheless, evolved over the centuries and Christians began converting non believers through violence and compulsion. Also, even after individuals were converted, Christians did not fully trust their motivations, and believed they would remiss into their old religions. While Marian miracles did help alleviate these tensions, a number of vicious acts were committed against Jews and Muslims during this time period. In this essay, I am going to examine the idea of conversion from the Christian perspective, and how Christians were able to tempt Jews and Muslims to convert. I am also going to compare the contradictory nature of converting through peaceful and violent means. This comparison will showcase how the Roman Catholic Church s stance on peaceful conversion was overcome by local Christian communities.
