Essay about Nelson Mandela Worked to End Apartheid in...
I have always thought that Nelson Mandela has been one of the most important people in history. I
find it very fascinating that one man could end the Apartheid and that is why I want to find out more
about this. South Africa is a country with a past of enforced racism and separation of its multi racial
community. The White Europeans invaded South Africa and started a political system known as
Apartheid (meaning apartness ). This system severely restricted the rights and lifestyle of the non
White inhabitants of the country forcing them to live separately from the White Europeans. I have
chosen to investigate how the Apartheid affected people s lives, and also how and why the Apartheid
system rose and fell in South Africa. Racial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(History, 2013) The population of South Africa were segregated into categouries of Coloured, Black,
White and Indian. Black South African lives were affected in many different ways and it still is today.
Apartheid meant great hardship, it meant that Black people were unable to live a reasonable life. All
natural civil rights were taken away from them. Public beaches, drive in cinema parking spaces,
graveyards, parks and public toilets are just a few things that were racially segregated. You can say
that the church was on of few places races could mix without breaking the law. (Wikipedia, 2013)
Black South Africans were segregated in education and there were even different laws. For example if
a Black African committed a crime, this person could expect years in prison. But if it was a White
African, the consequence would probably only be getting charged. Black Africans were treated
inhumanely and considered to be filth.(NelsonMandelas, 2013) The purpose of their education was to
train them to be Black labourers or servants as it was considered all they were good for. In addition,
whole communities were transported by the police to new areas far away from their old homes, which
were often bulldozed to the ground. One of these communities were Sophiatown, and here is a
inhabitant describing what it was that happened: We had to take everything and throw it outside.

Assyrian Empire Research Paper
The Assyrian Empire was revolutionized as one of the most powerful forces of the ancient world,
lasted about 1,875 years before its downfall began, and went through many heights and lows in its
time. However, why did Assyria really succeed for as long as it did? Why did it reach a downfall
period and essentially fail around 609 BC? Over this essay, it will be explained in more detail on how
the Assyrian Empire started, how it evolved over time, and why eventually this evolution inevitably
led to their failure.
Assyria started around the 3rd millennium BCE, but was really acceptably founded around 1900 BCE,
by King Erishum I, who placed the temple of Ashur on the site, reinforcing the land essentially.
(Joshua J. Mark) Ashur was the highest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning, Mitanni came to control Assyria, but the Hittites invaded and took over, and
replaced the court with mainly Hittites. In that court, king Eriba Adad I, gained influence, and the
Assyrians saw opportunity to assert their out autonomy and expand Assyria. They expanded outward,
into areas previously held by Mitanni. The Hittites, seeing this, stuck back, but were unable to defeat
them, and king Ashur Urballit I came to defeat the remaining Mitanni forces under Hittite
commanders. The Assyrians took huge chunks of the land previously owned by the Mitanni, and later
on expanded north and south, driving out the Hittites and conquering their major strongholds. The
general populace of Mitanni were either planned to be deported safely or assimilated into the growing
empire of Assyria. Those who resisted were killed and sold into slavery. As Assyrians had successfully
taken control over former Mitanni, it was a very prosperous period of the empire. This prosperity
increased when Assyrian sacked Babylon and took control over it. However, about twenty years later
in 1200 BC, with the death of Tiglath Pileser, Assyrians hit a short downfall period, but were
revitalized in the reign of Tiglath Pileser I, who conquered

Second Wave Feminism
The first and second wave feminist movements have led to a revaluation of the dominant patriarchal
values perpetuated by the media, which is evident as representations of women have changed greatly
in the last 20 years alone to accommodate the changing role of women in society. This chapter seeks
to explore the validity of this statement through content analysis of top grossing feature films from the
1950s to the present day to determine whether ideals surrounding love and gender roles have been
deconstructed in film over time.
The second wave feminist movement challenged the traditional roles of women s rights and
campaigned for legal and social equality for women which proved to be significant in generating
changes in the daily lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ever since we were children, watching Disney films where female characters were dressed in alluring
attire with unrealistically proportioned bodies had already begun to instil a warped sense of romance
and created unrealistic expectations of finding the perfect man . Movies such as Mean Girls and
Clueless that were targeted at the teenage demographic depicted the females as sexually interested,
sexually attractive and sexually aware. Even adult roles, in particular superheroes, are being created as
sexually dominant, wearing costumes to appeal to the male audience and often pictured using their

Spending Time With My Family
Spending time with my Family during the weekends
The most important thing for me in my life is my family. Although we are separated during the week,
we would hardly see each other. Deep down, they are the reason why I look forward to Fridays and
Sundays. These days are not Just any ordinary day for my family because we get to come to gather
and have fun we bond as any other normal family dose. Another reason why my family is important to
me is because my mother is my motivation to finish the week she is the first person I see in the
morning and the last person I see at night.
My Mother and I are the only ones that live in Storm Lake, so it is very hard and stressful sometimes
because we really do not see each other due to her working schedule. My mother works from 8:00 AM
to 9:00 pM, every week except on Fridays. So during the rest of the week, I feel like I am alone all the
time.
Every day, I do the same thing, get out of school and go home. The house would feel so empty and
silenced. Just me with my soul normally feeling bored and depressed It s all that comes to my mind
when there is no one to talk to. Mondays for me are the longest I feel that the day won t even end from
all the chores I have to do; taking out the trash , washing the dishes to making dinner. Everything is
done by the time my mother comes home so she won t have to worry about it. When my mom comes
home, we sit near the table and eat food from there we say our good nights and set off to go to

Aspects Of Contract And Business Law

The Portrayal Of Female Characters In Lysistrata By...
Given just the plot of Lysistrata, one might think that Lysistrata by Aristophanes is a highly
progressive comedy in which women are empowered and are given meaning beyond the household.
Unfortunately, as one starts to delve deeper into the story, there are many things that point the over
way, mainly the portrayal of secondary female characters, the women s overall willingness to discount
their non physical features and the peace making scene around the end of the story.
The events in the play encourage the notion that the best thing young women have going for them is
their bodies. In the beginning of the play, it is pointed out that the women present during the pact all
have very nice bodies. As each women arrives this is the first thing Lysistrata and Kleonike notice;
they make it abundantly clear in the conversation as well. (Aristophanes, 356) While Lysistrata is
telling her about her plan, Kleonike even says Wisdom for women? There is nothing cosmic about
cosmetics and glamor is our only talent. All we can do is sit, primped and painted, made up and
dressed up. (Aristophanes, 353)
Even though, the women gain power in the play by withholding sex from the men, they also withhold
sex from themselves. Their struggles with coping with the temporary abstinence is demonstrated by
frequent complaining among the women and, later, the averted endangerment of the movement as a
result of some women trying to ditch the effort. The women that tried to leave gave lame

Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy
A Brief Introduction To
Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy
By Wayne Froggatt
Third Ed.(this version Feb 2005)
Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) is based on the concept that emotions and behaviours
result from cognitive processes; and that it is possible for human beings to modify such processes to
achieve different ways of feeling and behaving. REBT is one of a number of therapies that come under
the heading cognitive behavioural .
In the mid 1950 s Dr. Albert Ellis, a clinical psychologist trained in psychoanalysis, became
disillusioned with the slow progress of his clients. He observed that they tended to get better when
they changed their ways of thinking about themselves, their problems, and the world. Ellis reasoned

It contains illogical ways of evaluating oneself, others, and the world: demandingness, awfulising,
discomfort intolerance and people rating; When talking with clients, we often refer to beliefs as self
defeating rather than irrational , to emphasise that the main reason for replacing a belief is because it
negatively affects their lives.
Two Types of Disturbance
REBT suggests that human beings defeat or disturb themselves in two main ways: (1) by holding
irrational beliefs about their self (ego disturbance) or (2) by holding irrational beliefs about their
emotional or physical comfort (discomfort disturbance). Frequently, the two go together people may
think irrationally about both their selves and their circumstances though one or the other will usually
be predominant. Ego disturbance represents an upset to the self image. It results from holding
demands about one s self , e.g. I must ... do well / not fail / get approval from others ; followed by
negative selfevaluations such as: When I fail / get disapproval / etc. this proves I am no good and so
on. These beliefs create ego anxiety emotional tension resulting from the perception that one s self or
personal worth is threatened and lead to other problems such as avoidance of situations where failure,
disapproval, etc. might occur; looking to other people for acceptance; and

Small Urban Areas Of Comparative Advantage
Small urban areas can do a number of things to increase and diversify export efforts. Increasing the
exports will enhance the ability of the small urban area to pay for its imports. First the small urban
areas should look at other opportunities so they can mitigate the export dependency they have on
target areas such as large urban areas that have economies of scale. They could target investment and
industrial policy to develop potential new areas of comparative advantage. Thing such as technology,
infrastructure development, entrepreneurship, institutional and regulator efforts, and communication
all are essential components in looking for new areas of comparative advantage. In addition, things
like investment in human capital development, and integration into the global market, which provide
more profitable value chains, should also be a focus to address this type of issue as well 1. As income
levels change from area to area or through time, there is also a systematic change that takes place. This
change takes place in the importance of higher and lower order centers. At higher income levels, more
shopping and specialty goods are demanded, and people are willing to travel farther to obtain the
goods they desire. Income, scale, and accessibility changes are all responsible for the progressive
centralization of functions in the higher level centers in the United States and the progressive decline
of the smaller cities. In conclusion when people have more

Ciccone has identified in chapter 16 a wide range of medications that would treat Rheumatoid
Arthritis ranging from NSAIDs, Corticosteroids to DMARDs. According to Mayo Clinic, rheumatoid
arthritis is a chronic inflammation that not only affects the joints but other body systems such as the
lungs, the heart and even the skin (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2016). UpToDate has an even extensive
definition about the disease process. In the article, it highlighted that rheumatoid arthritis to be a
symmetric, inflammatory, peripheral polyarthritis of unknown etiology (Venables Maini, para. 1). In

recognition of the disease will curb and control the disease process at the same time thwart any
deformities that will bring about disability to the individual. This can be accomplished through an
extensive medical history isolating the areas especially complaints of pain and swelling on the joints.

The Role Of Women In Raisin In The Sun And Trifles
Men and women are constantly debating what their true role in life is. In a family, the women were
expected to do the laundry, cook, and clean, while the men went to work and made money for their
family. This idea has changed drastically over the years. Women are now able to get an education and
work if they d like. Sixty years ago, this would not have been possible. Most men and women now
share the housework, and both have full time jobs. In Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry and
Trifles by Susan Glaspell the women struggle with being unheard by their husbands. In Raisin in the
Sun, Ruth Younger struggles with her husband, Walter Lee, when he does not listen to her when they
discuss their money problems. Walter strives to have more money, so he can provide his family with
nice things. He is tired of being overlooked by the white men that he works for and wants to be more
like them. Walter hates the job that he has because he must obey a white man. He constantly feels like
the women in his life do not listen to his struggles and confides in alcohol instead of speaking with his
family about his emotions. Walter Lee constantly belittles his wife saying, that just goes to show you
what women understand about the world...nothing will happen for you in this world less you pay
somebody off! (Hansberry 81). Again, the women s opinions and thoughts are overlooked by the men
in the play. In the end, Walter Lee chooses to do the right thing and becomes the hero. When

The Necessity of Automated Fingerprint Identification...
Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS) in law enforcement and border control
applications has heightened the need for ensuring that these systems are not compromised. While
several issues related to fingerprint system security have been investigated, including the use of fake
fingerprints for masquerading identity, the problem of fingerprint alteration or obfuscation has
received very little attention. Fingerprint obfuscation refers to the deliberate alteration of the
fingerprint pattern by an individual for the purpose of masking his identity. Several cases of
fingerprint obfuscation have been reported in the press. Also NFIQ algorithm used to evaluate the

Fingerprint quality assessment routines used inmost fingerprint identification systems, such as the
opensource NFIQ2 (NIST Fingerprint Image Quality) softwaremay be useful in detecting altered
fingerprints if thecorresponding images are indeed of poor quality. But, notall altered fingerprint
images have poor quality. Since existing fingerprint quality assessment algorithms are designed to
examine if an imagecontains sufficient information (say, minutiae) for matching, they have limited
capability in determining if an image is anatural fingerprint or an altered fingerprint.Altered
fingerprints are different from fake fingerprints. The use of fake fingers made ofglue, latex, or silicone
is a well publicized method to circumvent fingerprint systems. Altered fingerprints, however, are real
fingers that are used to conceal one s identity in order to evade identification by a biometric system.
While fake fingers are typically used by individuals toadopt another person s identity, altered fingers
are used to mask one s own identity. In order to detect attacks based on fake fingers, many software
and hardware solutions have been proposed. However, the problem of altered fingerprints has hitherto
not been studied in the literature and there are no reported techniques to identify them. Furthermore,
the lack of public databases comprised of altered fingerprint images has

Employee Retention Culture
Despite fluctuating economic times and increased globalization of American jobs, most employers are
finding it hard to keep good workers. The reality of today s job market is that workers are expecting
more from their employers and are not afraid to move on if their needs are not met by your
organization.
Based on compelling data from the Society for Human Resource Management and others who study
workforce trends, leading organizations must take time to analyze their retention realities and ensure
that the valuable employees they currently have are not seeking greener pastures.
How do great organizations maintain low levels of turnover and high levels of employee satisfaction?
The answer is found in one word: culture.
Organizations with high rates of employee retention concentrate on creating four distinct cultures that
keep people focused on the organization and its goals. The purpose of this article is to explore these
four cultures and to recommend practical strategies for developing these cultures in your workplace.
Effective retention cultures include an intense focus on choice, balance, development and care.
The Culture of Choice

High rates of retention are clearly linked to the amount of attention the employee gets in terms of their
professional development and growth. When employees feel that their career goals have been

What Is Marriage From Pride And Prejudice Compared To...
Pride and Prejudice, Question 2: Marriage from Pride and Prejudice Compared to Marriage Now
Answer: In Pride and Prejudice, marriage is used not only to join two people because they love each
other, but also for financial reasons. In today s world however, people don t use marriage to help
someone financially or to boost yourself socially, but more so because two people genuinely love each
other. However, that does not mean that people do not get married for other reasons besides love,
because that does happen, but its just not as common as it probably was in the book.
1. Oh! Mr. Bennet, you are wanted immediately; we are all in an uproar. You must come and make
Lizzy marry Mr. Collins, for she vows she will not have him, and if you do not make haste he will
change his mind and not have her.
a. Context: Mrs. Bennet finds out that Elizabeth refuses to marry Mr. Collins and goes to Mr. Bennet
to get him to persuade Elizabeth to marry Mr. Collins.
b. Significance: This quote shows what marriage was like back in the time that this book takes place.
Mrs. Bennet is so focused on making sure that her daughters get married that she doesn t care what
they think, if she approves of the man, she wants her daughter to marry him. Mrs. Bennet isn t taking
into consideration her daughter s feelings whereas in modern times marriage is between two people
that actually love each other and want to be together. These days most people are more hesitant to get
married and they take their time making sure it s the right person, but in the book Mrs. Bennet is so
eager to get her daughters married that she s not takin time to make sure they re right for each other.
2. I see what you are feeling, replied Charlotte, you must be surprised, very much surprised, so lately
as Mr. Collins was wishing to marry you. But when you have had time to think it all over, I hope you
will be satisfied with what I have done. I am not romantic, you know. I never was. I ask only a
comfortable home; and considering Mr. Collins s character, connections, and situation in life, I am
convinced that my chance of happiness with him is as fair as most people can boast on entering the
marriage state.

and light blonde. They traveled down the green and wooden stairs. Nimue looked at the pictures

red. Hennery watched Santa as he filled the stockings with goodies. He placed presents under the tree.
As Hennery watched Santa go up the chimney he gave him a bark. Hennery carried Nimue up to her

Narby Research Chapter 5 Summary
Objective: In this chapter Narby researches past findings of intelligence in animals and plants. Some
examples include the self awareness of dolphins and crows creating tools. Narby s definition of
intelligence seems to change to being capable of consciously making decisions.
Subjective: One part of this chapter I was able to associate to was the part about parrots answering
questions. I could relate to this because I remember seeing a parrot identify shapes once while I was
on vacation. Initially it blew my mind, but I later convinced myself it was a routine, however now it
makes sense, parrots are capable of learning.
i) The problem with these definitions of intelligence, is that they can only be applied to humans. So
based off of these definitions, no other species can be intelligent even if they act in such ways that
would require intelligence (43 44) ii) Monod didn t believe there was intelligence in nature. He
thought the scientific method meant that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Much like the scientists in previous chapters, Martin Giurfa thinks bees are much more than the
machines they had been referred to as by Monod. Narby mentions how Giurfa s studies showed that
bees could grasp abstract concepts like identifying corresponding images to find a reward. The bees
were even able to figure out to recognize and match new patterns after the original image was
changed.
Subjective: I am conflicted about this experiment because it s cool and cruel at the same time. I think
it s cool that bees are able to learn to match corresponding images to find food, meaning that they are
able to learn new processes for finding food. However, it is also cruel because Narby mentions that
once the bees got to the food, they repeatedly tried flying straight up, hitting a plexiglass cover,
instead of exiting through the tubes. This means that even though the bees were successful, they

Impact Of Globalisation
Globalisation is the process by which the world is becoming increasingly interconnected as a result of
a huge growth in trade and cultural exchange. Large companies are no longer located in one single
country but are multinational corporations with businesses in many countries. Economic globalisation
has had developments such as increased international trade and easer movement of capital and
services, which have contributed to the improvements in welfare for most of the world. Statistics
highlight how economic inequality among countries has declined sharply in the past 20 years, and that
extra money generated by foreign investment is spent on improving education, health and
infrastructure in developing countries. However, there are also concerns brought by globalisation such
as the threat posed to local cultural products, which contributes to the loss of small local business.
Therefore, although globalisation is most likely helping to create more wealth in developing countries,
it is not helping to close the gap between the world s poorest countries and the richest. This essay will
discuss the different issues to whether economic globalisation has delivered improvements in welfare
for most people of the world.
Investment by multinational corporations helps countries by providing new jobs and skills for local
people, but it may also have a negative impact. This perhaps is due to the increased competition for
local businesses and the fact that many profits from foreign owned firms are taken out of the host
country. For example, in 1988, the united states and Canada signed a free trade agreement that reduced
trade and investment barriers and provided guidelines for the trade in services, and in 2992 they joined
Mexico in signing the North American Free Trade Agreement (Kinsella et al, 2013). This agreement is
not nearly as comprehensive as the treaties establishing the EU. In comparison to the treaties
establishing the European Union, NAFTA is not as comprehensive. This creation of a free trade area
meant that there was no customs union, no coordination of economic or monetary policy. NAFTA
aimed to have gradual elimination of tariff and non tariff areas, so there would be a free flow of goods,

The 5 Themes of Stara Zagora
Introduction
So far, there have been two important cities in my life Sofia, where I was born and where I m living
right now, and Stara Zagora, because it is the birthplace of my mother and for some strange reason I
feel connected to it. I chose the latter because it did seem like the more original choice, and also
because I am interested in actually finding out more about the city I spent every summer of my early
childhood in.
Location
Stara Zagora is located on 42°26′N 25°39′E, in central Bulgaria, south from Sredna Gora mountain.
The city s location makes it an excellent place for living, farming and animal husbandry. Due to these
conditions and the mild warm weather, it is no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the past, it had been a frequent stop for Thracians, Romans, and ancient Greeks, and later Slavs,
Ottomans and Bulgarians travelling from Asia to Western Europe. Nowadays, the former glory of the
city is fading, but it still remains a quiet and beautiful place to live in. Goods are imported from other
big cities in the country, as well as Greece and Turkey. Stara Zagora s main exports are in the food
industry and heavy industries. (Nikolaeva) Most of the information and idea movement happens
digitally, either through the Internet or through local TV. As is the case in most Bulgarian cities,
people from the countryside move to work in the city, while young people from Stara Zagora move to
the capital Sofia to get their upper education.
Regions
Stara Zagora itself belongs to several regions, including the Upper Thracian Plain. Administratively,
the city is divided into around 30 smaller subsections, but the difference between the different parts is
very small. The main subsections are the Central Area, the Ayazmo Park, and the Industrial part. (Stara
Zagora Municipality) The Stara Zagora region itself, which includes the city and the villages around
it, is united by the common interests and identities of the citizens, who are very proud of some of the
cities iconic symbols, such as the football club Beroe , the Ayazmo Park, and the Samara Flag

Essay On Malicious Algorithms
In [10], author proposed a scheme which identifies the malicious nodes by using aggregate signature
algorithm. It associates three algorithms.
(1) The proof creating algorithm: Whenever the nodes involved in a communication receive a
message, they create a proof that is based on aggregate signature algorithm.
(2) The checkup algorithm: This algorithm is called when the source node suspects that the
transmitted packets are dropped. If the destination reports that it does not receive all transmitted
packets, it will invoke this algorithm to detect the malicious node.
(3) The diagnosis algorithm: works with the results of check up algorithm. Simulation is done in ns2
simulator. Using this proposed method, overhead is reduced and packet ... Show more content on

Performance metrics are measured which shows that packet loss is less than AODV. Packet Loss
increases as mobility increases. In route discovery process, an intermediate node will try to create a
route and this route should not contain a node whose legitimacy ratio lesser the lower threshold level.
[18] Proposed a black hole avoidance scheme. An enhancement is made in the AODV routing protocol
to eliminate the black hole. The source first sends the route request and waits for responses from all
neighboring nodes with which it gets a reliable route. According to this proposed scheme the source
node should not send data packets immediately after receiving the first reply. Timer Expired Table is
used to set timer after the reception of first reply. This table stores the sequence number of the packet.
Collect Route Reply Table is used to store arrival time. Node s waiting time depends on the distance.
Entries in the table help to identify malicious node.
[19] presented a black hole detection scheme. In this method, when the source node receives RREP
packets, it generates a new RREQ. RREQ has the highest sequence number and it is unicast through
the route which the RREP packet was received. Malicious node generates a RREP with highest
sequence number on receiving RREQ. Malicious node sends the fake RREP packet to the source node.
Now source identifies the malicious node. This method has very less overhead.

The Effects Of Digital Distractions On The College Classroom
Digital distractions are affecting the college classroom in many ways. First, let us establish what a
digital distraction is. By definition to be distracted is having one s thoughts or attention drawn away:
unable to concentrate or give attention to something (Distracted). To be digitally distracted is to just
add technology to that. Digital distractions range from texting and driving to checking one s phone
when socializing with other people. These two examples are very noticeable in today s society. People
are being injured and are dying at an alarming rate from compulsively using their smartphones while
driving (Greenfield). People are also losing the social skill required to communicate face to face (The
Negative Impacts of Social Media on Face to Face Interactions). Digital distractions occur continually
in the college setting and affect students in and outside of the classroom. A common, if not the most
common, means of digital distraction is a smartphone. They allow access to the internet and social
media, such as Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. With access to these, students can easily
be distracted from their work in class. When a student is texting, it not only disrupts their learning
experience, but it disrupts others as well. Allowing a student to bring a personal computer into class is
another problem. The student could be working on their class work and taking notes, or they are just
browsing the internet, playing games, checking social media,

Why Did We Going To Win The Revolutionary War
Those British are at it again. I don t think they get that we are going to attack them sometime when
they least expect it. Well at least I think we should. I think we should go to war with the British
because we could win freedom, stop having our rights violated, and we could get rid of all of those
stupid taxes. We have a good chance at winning the war and if we do, we could get the freedom that
we want and need. When the British first came over to the colonies, they were always in everybody s
business. I always felt like I couldn t speak my own mind because everywhere I looked, there was

Just like those acts. I don t agree with what the are doing and don t think they should be able to do that
to us. The Coercive Acts, most colonists thought, were the worst of the acts. This is probably why they
named them the Intolerable Acts. I don t think they should have reacted the way they did when we had
our little Boston Tea Party. They closed the Boston Harbor! That s the only way that some people of
Boston can trade to make money or important things for their family. I think they might know we are
planning what to do if they attack or what we are going to do if we attack. I think this because the
Coercive Acts include a part that said no more town meetings. They know that our meetings are
obviously for planning and they know that the more we plan, the stronger we are. When the British
were here the first time to search for smuggled food, they couldn t just sleep outside all night. They
had to sleep somewhere. So those British stuck them on us. We had to willingly open up our houses to
those Lobster backs. It was as if we had to let someone we hate live in our house for a while. This was
the part of the act that annoyed me the most. But just think about it; if we win the war all of that would
be gone. Some say that the taxes could be good for us but if you ask those people why, they have
absolutely no answer. Looks like they are just trying to defend their king. The taxes that they make us
pay, in my opinion are way too high. We have to do

The Themes Of Emotions In John Knowles s A Separate Peace
John Knowles, A Separate Peace , New York City, NY: Charles Scribner s Sons, 1959
It is often we read of the war stories, emotions, and struggles of soldiers serving their country in World
War II. In contrast, John Knowles A Separate Peace offers the perspective of 16 year old Gene
Forrester, a student at a preparatory private school during the years of World War II. Unique in the
way of a pure display of emotion, A Separate Peace begins with Gene traveling back to his high school
to admire its new appearance, then dawning on the events that occurred there just 15 years earlier. In
his return to his high school campus, we learn of Gene s gloomy, pessimistic personality. Today with

Knowles throughout the story fails to introduce very many characters besides Finny and occasional
side characters. Almost giving the sense that the book was written about Finny. Were it not for Gene s
commentary, the book could pass as a fictional biography of Finny. However, this is a book of anger,
confusion, and evil intention. The amount of awe Gene possesses for Finny is incredible, and the pin
point analyzation of him is notable. It is also important to identify the literary rebirth motif used
towards the beginning of the book: Phineas, still asleep on his dune, made me think of Lazarus,
brought back to life by the touch of God (50) Finny is seen as entirely new person to Gene in a change
of feelings. Where there is perfection, blunder is just as likely to occur. Gene and Finny have a bizarre
reliance on eachother. Knowles makes it very clear their seemingly unbreakable bond. It is now
understood the main theme of the book, their friendship. We begin to see and understand the
conflicting personalities. Gene is the pure brains and reasoning with little to no athletic skill, as
Phineas is the sports star, without a care in the world. Immediately we identify the conflict as Gene s
jealousy. Gene envies Finny s charisma and abilities different from his own. Gene s paranoid
personality attempts to defend himself for his unreasonable anger and even creates a fabricated hatred
of himself by Finny to justify his feelings,

Three Causes Of The Boxer Rebellion
The Boxer Rebellion was an uprising initiated in China, after the Chinese suffered many devastating
defeats at the hands of foreign powers. Originating in the 1900 s, a secret organisation called the
Society of the Righteous and Harmonious Fists, began carrying out attacks on Chinese Christians and
foreigners. They became known in the West as the boxers , for their martial arts fighting style. What
caused the Boxer Rebellion? There were three main causes.
The first cause for the Boxer Rebellion, was the anti foreign stance in China. As a result of suffering
humiliating defeats in both the first, and second Opium wars, China was forced to grant concessions to
foreigners. Furthermore, they had to sign the unequal treaties which allowed the West to gain a
significant amount of control over China. This left the Chinese population poverty stricken, and angry
at foreign powers. The economy became disrupted by the arrival of modernity and industrialism.
According to historian David Silbey Many Chinese worked in industries that were disrupted by the
arrival of the railroad and the telegraph. There was a sense that China s balance had been thrown out
of whack by these modern innovations, and only by destroying the innovations and the foreigners who
brought them could the balance be restored. . The Chinese regarded the West as foreign devils , and
wished to retain sovereignty and independence. They were extremely nationalistic. Mark Twain
addressed the boxer rebellion in 1900.

The Exploration Of Human Memory Essay
The exploration of human memory will unlock the past and future. Through the exploitation of human
memory man condemn itself to an apocalyptic world. The manipulation of the human memory is key
to man s control over the human mind. Memory can divide what humans see and what humans can
remember. Some memories may be deceitful, but it all depends on the state of mind and past
experiences of that individual. Memory isn t just a personal experience that s based only on that
person, an event can change people physically and mentally. Memory is based off of multiple factors
that occur in the brain. It s a deep subject that both neuropsychologist and psychologist have tried to
completely understand in the past decade. Author Carl Gunther said that Underneath the mind s
perceptual process is the mysterious mechanics of memory (Gunther 87). In hopes of a new future
where memory isn t so mysterious. Humans are digging deeper in the unknown such as neuroscientist
Bence Olveczky of the Harvard University in Cambridge Massachusetts. To explain how Olveczky
would discover a possible breakthrough in manipulating the human mind would take time. To grasp
the concept of manipulating memory one would have to know the history and meaning of memory.
Humans consider memory as the ability to remember things, true, but is also the ability to Encode,
store, retain and subsequently recall information and past experiences in the human brain (Mastin The

Mobile Devices Dominating Internet Traffic
In 2014, there were countless articles about mobile exceeding PC traffic for the first time in history.
Google announced #mobilegeddon early this year, saying, It s the year of the mobile . It s almost
laughable to think that someday this was news. Especially, as it s estimated that by 2017, 85% of the
world will have access to 3G (Ericsson, 2015). If this is a glimpse into the future, then businesses
require a mobile strategy.
For years, the simple solution for mobile device has been a responsive website: where your site

Comparison Between Hunger Games And Hunger Games
Taking the kids from our districts, forcing them to kill one another while we watch this is the Capitol s
way of reminding us how totally we are at their mercy. How little chance we would stand of surviving
another rebellion (19). This quote is from the novel Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It describes
one way that The Capitol suppresses the people of Panem, potentially having two of their friends,
family, and children face off with other kids from a different district. The Capitol is reminding people
that they are dominant and the citizens can do nothing to oppose them. Hunger Games takes place in a
dystopian society where every year, a male and female tribute from ages 12 18 is chosen from each
district, 24 in total, to fight to the death to win food and supplies for their families, and was published
in 2008. Another example of a dystopian novel is Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Published in
1954, this book is about a group of boys from England who become stranded on an uninhabited island
after their plane was struck down, assumably because of a war. How do these books compare if they
were published about 54 years apart? One reason is that they both used fire symbolically. Another
reason is that they both have representations of evil in their books. Another reason that these books
compare is that of the settings in both places. Finally, they both compare because they both have
representations of civility and savagery. Even though these books were published

Purloined Letter And The Murders In The Rue Morgue
The stories I chose for this unit are The Fall of the House of Usher, The Purloined Letter, and The
Murders in the Rue Morgue. The first story I chose involved with two siblings that have something
wrong with them. The brother who has a mental illness which leads to the suffering of fear and
anxiety, as well as having a morbid acuteness of the senses. The Purloined Letter tells about how the
queen got her letter stolen by Minister D, and yet Dupin stole that Minister D s letter who replaced the
stolen letter with a fake one. The Murders in the Rue Morgue tells about how Dupin solves the
murders of two people with a daughter s throat cut then being stuffed up a chimney and the mother
was strangled then thrown out a window.
The Fall of the House of Usher showed Roderick cope with death and gloominess by reading literature
books, music, and art because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People would also like to have immortality such as living beyond death or leaving a mark the world
for people to remember. The few people that would be different about death could be avoiding the
thought of death or they are not aware of the feeling about becoming closer to death. People would do
more positive things to leave their mark, so thinking of death would drive others to do good. The other
part of the people who think of negative things will believe that death will have a terrible outcome.
The only character I believe would act the closest to actual people would be Dupin. Dupin copes with
death by reading books and he does more good if he solves the impossible which leaves his mark on
the world. I could agree with Rodrick from The Fall of the House of Usher because of how he deals
with the feeling with similar to Dupin, because they have a hobby in literature and Roderick uses his
hobbies to get away from the dreadful feeling of

The Pros And Cons Of Stress
Stress is a major part of everyday life, it is defined as a response to a threat or pressure. Stress is
caused by stressors, which are physical or psychological demands to which an individual responds. A
reaction or response to a stressor is called strain (Landy Conte, 2016, p. 372). Whether it be physical
or psychological stress, sound mental and body health are crucial when it comes to performing job
functions safely, efficiently, and effectively. Increased levels of stress can often lead to mental health
and psychical disorders at the expense of the worker. This very reason is why it must be studied,
resolved, and prevented in the workplace when possible. Beginning with an assembly line worker,
common stressors related to this position can include physical stressors such as repetitive actions,
heavy lifting, and persistent standing, or psychological stress concerns with autonomy and lack of
control. There is concerns that doing repetitive motions and tasks can lead to musculoskeletal
disorders, such as repetitive strain injuries. OSHA has stated this including the mention of performing
same or similar tasks repetitively. Exposure to these known risk factors for MSDs increases a worker s
risk of injury ( Ergonomics , 2017). Heavy lifting and persistent standing can contribute significantly
to physical stress. Standing for long periods of time in the same position, as most assembly line
workers do, can lead to circulatory issues as well has fatigue and muscle

Cultural Differences Between Brazil And Brazil Essay
Culture
Religion
Not only did the Portuguese influence Brazil about languages, but also religion. The Portuguese
brought over their religion which was Roman Catholic. About 64% of the population ascribes to the
Roman Catholic faith. Other religions in Brazil included: other Catholic religions, Protestant,
Christians, Spiritism, and others. Only 8% of the population ascribe to no religion of any kind (Central
Intelligence Agency, n.d.).
Diversity
Brazil has a rich culture with a unique blend of cultural variations. Brazil is even seen as one of the
world s most varied and diverse countries. There is a mixture of Indian, African, and European blood.
There are currently more than 190 million people in Brazil. Half of the population is white, while 40%
are mixed black and white. About 10% are black.
Crime often haunts the country of Brazil. Brazil has several issues with crime. Some of the most
common crimes include muggings, robbing, kidnappings, and gang violence. Another serious problem
is the corruption in the law enforcement divisions. Many people will not report any incidents to the
police because of fear ( Brazil, n.d.).
Cultural Variations
The Brazilian have a class system, where discrimination of skin color occurs daily. Those with darker
skin are typically disadvantaged. Class is also determined by economic status. Those in the middle and
upper classes often have little to no contact with the lower classes. The richest 10% of Brazilians have
access to over 40% of

A Film Market That Is Not Reach The Same Level Of...
In a film market that is saturated with mindless multi million dollar blockbusters, a seemingly
thematically ambitious one like Elysium can stand out amongst the clutter. Blomkamp has tackled
allegory before with his acclaimed debut District 9. Though it by all means isn t a perfect film, District
9 stood out for its approach at sci fi allegory, mixing documentary like filmmaking with spectacular
action set pieces while thoughtfully tackling themes of racism and xenophobia. However, Elysium
does not reach the same level of sophistication as Blomkamp s previous work. Elysium is a film with
great potential for social commentary through science fiction storytelling, that is unfortunately marred
by shallow Hollywood spectacle, clichés, and plot contrivances that discredit the film s themes. Set in
2154, Elysium portrays Earth as a society plagued by overpopulation and excess pollution, where the
privileged elite live in a ring shaped satellite that orbits the earth known as Elysium. The gated
community of Elysium are able to enjoy all kinds of luxuries, including healthcare technology that
involve pods that cure every illness and even prevents aging. The film follows Max DaCosta, played
by Matt Damon, a hard edged ex convict who is now a working class factory worker living in the run
down, crime ridden, poverty stricken slums of Los Angeles. Through flashbacks, we see that he had
always dreamed of escaping his circumstance, promising himself and his childhood friend that

Eukaryotic Of Eukaryotic And Eukaryotic Genomes
I. Introduction
Perhaps one of the first lessons one is taught about bacteria is that they constitute the prokaryotic
domain of life, while humans and most other readily visible life forms are firmly rooted in the
eukaryotic domain. These domains diverged many millions of years ago from a common ancestor and,
while the eukaryotic branch later split into eukaryotic and archaeal domains, it maintained its
separation from the prokaryotic domain (Woese et al., 1990). Prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes are
naturally very distinct in both content and structure as a result of eons long separation, and one tends
to classify these domains as very distinct entities.
However, there is increasing evidence of so called eukaryotic bacterial genes, or genes present in
bacterial genomes that have some sort of eukaryotic origin or function. These eukaryotic bacterial
genes are primarily of concern in determining virulence factors of human pathogens. As defined
below, bacterial genes can be evolutionarily or functionally eukaryotic, or both. Presence of either
type of gene would indicate some interaction between bacteria and eukaryotes, the most oft studied of
which are pathogenic interactions. Discovering eukaryotic bacterial genes is particularly important in
pathogens that secrete effectors to be taken up by host eukaryotic cells. These effectors tend to
modulate host cell functions, so there would be some logic in these effectors being encoded by
eukaryotic genes. Most research has been

That I2C Address Is However Never Used, The Arduino Makes One Of The AD0 Lines Low, And
Uses That Sensor At I2C Address 0x68. After That Is Finished, The Arduino Selects Another AD0
Line, And Can Use That Sensor.
So Every Sensor Is Used At I2C Address 0x68 (One By One) And 0x69 Is Never Used.
This Should Make It Possible To Have Many MPU 6050 Sensors In A Project. Even More Than 10
Sensor Should Be Possible.
Note That Requesting Data From Many MPU 6050 Sensors Is Slow, Because The I2C Bus Is Slow. A
Sensor With SPI Interface Is Faster.
At This Moment (15 July 2014) It Is Not Known If This Trick Works For The MPU 6050.

Income Tax Hypothesis
To test the hypothesis of increasing income taxes causes people to find ways to avoid tax or causes
citizens to work less, ultimately reducing the tax rate can be tested at the national level, as well as, the
state level. In one state a higher income tax rate could cause people to work more, but when increasing
income taxes is tested at the national level the average might prove the opposite. In order to test the
effects of increasing income taxes I would suggest a data set that is aimed more at the national level.
The data set provided by the Internal Revenue Service has tax years from 1996 to 2013, ranging in
different adjusted gross incomes of $0 to $10,000,000 or more. With the years provided as well as the
different income brackets the data shows how many people were a part of a certain income level at
one point of time and in another point of time when the tax rates can be increased how many people
switched income brackets. Variable such as GDP and the unemployment rate could be factored in,
which would allow a regression to be ran and then one could find out if the increasing tax rates does
reduce the tax rate at the national level. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The data set is provided by the United States Census Bureau and it breaks down income taxes as well
as individual income tax by different states. Why I think looking at the effects of increasing income
taxes at the state level is the certain states that might not have such a large population such as Montana
or Alaska might have more of an effect on the reduction in the tax rate, and the opposite might prove
true for states such as California, or Texas. The variables in these different states might be different
such as the unemployment rate in California might be higher than it is in Montana so that might have
more of an effect on the tax rate. In other words, to look at the whole one must look at the pieces

I find it very fascinating that one man could end the Apartheid and that is why I want to find out more about this. South Africa is a country with a past of enforced racism and separation of its multi racial community. The White Europeans invaded South Africa and started a political system known as Apartheid (meaning apartness ). This system severely restricted the rights and lifestyle of the non White inhabitants of the country forcing them to live separately from the White Europeans. I have chosen to investigate how the Apartheid affected people s lives, and also how and why the Apartheid system rose and fell in South Africa. Racial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (History, 2013) The population of South Africa were segregated into categouries of Coloured, Black, White and Indian. Black South African lives were affected in many different ways and it still is today. Apartheid meant great hardship, it meant that Black people were unable to live a reasonable life. All natural civil rights were taken away from them. Public beaches, drive in cinema parking spaces, graveyards, parks and public toilets are just a few things that were racially segregated. You can say that the church was on of few places races could mix without breaking the law. (Wikipedia, 2013) Black South Africans were segregated in education and there were even different laws. For example if a Black African committed a crime, this person could expect years in prison. But if it was a White African, the consequence would probably only be getting charged. Black Africans were treated inhumanely and considered to be filth.(NelsonMandelas, 2013) The purpose of their education was to train them to be Black labourers or servants as it was considered all they were good for. In addition, whole communities were transported by the police to new areas far away from their old homes, which were often bulldozed to the ground. One of these communities were Sophiatown, and here is a inhabitant describing what it was that happened: We had to take everything and throw it outside. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Assyrian Empire Research Paper The Assyrian Empire was revolutionized as one of the most powerful forces of the ancient world, lasted about 1,875 years before its downfall began, and went through many heights and lows in its time. However, why did Assyria really succeed for as long as it did? Why did it reach a downfall period and essentially fail around 609 BC? Over this essay, it will be explained in more detail on how the Assyrian Empire started, how it evolved over time, and why eventually this evolution inevitably led to their failure. Assyria started around the 3rd millennium BCE, but was really acceptably founded around 1900 BCE, by King Erishum I, who placed the temple of Ashur on the site, reinforcing the land essentially. At the beginning, Mitanni came to control Assyria, but the Hittites invaded and took over, and replaced the court with mainly Hittites. In that court, king Eriba Adad I, gained influence, and the Assyrians saw opportunity to assert their out autonomy and expand Assyria. They expanded outward, into areas previously held by Mitanni. The Hittites, seeing this, stuck back, but were unable to defeat them, and king Ashur Urballit I came to defeat the remaining Mitanni forces under Hittite commanders. The Assyrians took huge chunks of the land previously owned by the Mitanni, and later on expanded north and south, driving out the Hittites and conquering their major strongholds. The general populace of Mitanni were either planned to be deported safely or assimilated into the growing empire of Assyria. Those who resisted were killed and sold into slavery. As Assyrians had successfully taken control over former Mitanni, it was a very prosperous period of the empire. This prosperity increased when Assyrian sacked Babylon and took control over it. However, about twenty years later in 1200 BC, with the death of Tiglath Pileser, Assyrians hit a short downfall period, but were revitalized in the reign of Tiglath Pileser I, who conquered ... Second Wave Feminism The first and second wave feminist movements have led to a revaluation of the dominant patriarchal values perpetuated by the media, which is evident as representations of women have changed greatly in the last 20 years alone to accommodate the changing role of women in society. This chapter seeks to explore the validity of this statement through content analysis of top grossing feature films from the 1950s to the present day to determine whether ideals surrounding love and gender roles have been deconstructed in film over time. These days are not Just any ordinary day for my family because we get to come to gather and have fun we bond as any other normal family dose. Another reason why my family is important to me is because my mother is my motivation to finish the week she is the first person I see in the morning and the last person I see at night. My Mother and I are the only ones that live in Storm Lake, so it is very hard and stressful sometimes because we really do not see each other due to her working schedule. My mother works from 8:00 AM to 9:00 pM, every week except on Fridays. So during the rest of the week, I feel like I am alone all the time. Every day, I do the same thing, get out of school and go home. The house would feel so empty and silenced. Just me with my soul normally feeling bored and depressed It s all that comes to my mind when there is no one to talk to. Mondays for me are the longest I feel that the day won t even end from all the chores I have to do; taking out the trash , washing the dishes to making dinner. • 7. The Portrayal Of Female Characters In Lysistrata By... Given just the plot of Lysistrata, one might think that Lysistrata by Aristophanes is a highly progressive comedy in which women are empowered and are given meaning beyond the household. Unfortunately, as one starts to delve deeper into the story, there are many things that point the over way, mainly the portrayal of secondary female characters, the women s overall willingness to discount their non physical features and the peace making scene around the end of the story. The events in the play encourage the notion that the best thing young women have going for them is their bodies. In the beginning of the play, it is pointed out that the women present during the pact all have very nice bodies. As each women arrives this is the first thing Lysistrata and Kleonike notice; they make it abundantly clear in the conversation as well. (Aristophanes, 356) While Lysistrata is telling her about her plan, Kleonike even says Wisdom for women? There is nothing cosmic about cosmetics and glamor is our only talent. All we can do is sit, primped and painted, made up and dressed up. (Aristophanes, 353) Even though, the women gain power in the play by withholding sex from the men, they also withhold sex from themselves. Their struggles with coping with the temporary abstinence is demonstrated by frequent complaining among the women and, later, the averted endangerment of the movement as a result of some women trying to ditch the effort. In a family, the women were expected to do the laundry, cook, and clean, while the men went to work and made money for their family. This idea has changed drastically over the years. Women are now able to get an education and work if they d like. Sixty years ago, this would not have been possible. Most men and women now share the housework, and both have full time jobs. In Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry and Trifles by Susan Glaspell the women struggle with being unheard by their husbands. In Raisin in the Sun, Ruth Younger struggles with her husband, Walter Lee, when he does not listen to her when they discuss their money problems. Walter strives to have more money, so he can provide his family with nice things. He is tired of being overlooked by the white men that he works for and wants to be more like them. Walter hates the job that he has because he must obey a white man. He constantly feels like the women in his life do not listen to his struggles and confides in alcohol instead of speaking with his family about his emotions. Walter Lee constantly belittles his wife saying, that just goes to show you what women understand about the world...nothing will happen for you in this world less you pay somebody off! Pride and Prejudice, Question 2: Marriage from Pride and Prejudice Compared to Marriage Now Answer: In Pride and Prejudice, marriage is used not only to join two people because they love each other, but also for financial reasons. In today s world however, people don t use marriage to help someone financially or to boost yourself socially, but more so because two people genuinely love each other. However, that does not mean that people do not get married for other reasons besides love, because that does happen, but its just not as common as it probably was in the book. 1. Oh! Mr. Bennet, you are wanted immediately; we are all in an uproar. You must come and make Lizzy marry Mr. Collins, for she vows she will not have him, and if you do not make haste he will change his mind and not have her. a. Context: Mrs. Bennet finds out that Elizabeth refuses to marry Mr. Collins and goes to Mr. Bennet to get him to persuade Elizabeth to marry Mr. Collins. b. Significance: This quote shows what marriage was like back in the time that this book takes place. Mrs. Bennet is so focused on making sure that her daughters get married that she doesn t care what they think, if she approves of the man, she wants her daughter to marry him. Mrs. Bennet isn t taking into consideration her daughter s feelings whereas in modern times marriage is between two people that actually love each other and want to be together. These days most people are more hesitant to get married and they take their time making sure it s the right person, but in the book Mrs. Bennet is so eager to get her daughters married that she s not takin time to make sure they re right for each other. 2. I see what you are feeling, replied Charlotte, you must be surprised, very much surprised, so lately as Mr. Collins was wishing to marry you. But when you have had time to think it all over, I hope you will be satisfied with what I have done. I am not romantic, you know. I never was. • 25. Impact Of Globalisation Globalisation is the process by which the world is becoming increasingly interconnected as a result of a huge growth in trade and cultural exchange. Large companies are no longer located in one single country but are multinational corporations with businesses in many countries. Economic globalisation has had developments such as increased international trade and easer movement of capital and services, which have contributed to the improvements in welfare for most of the world. Statistics highlight how economic inequality among countries has declined sharply in the past 20 years, and that extra money generated by foreign investment is spent on improving education, health and infrastructure in developing countries. However, there are also concerns brought by globalisation such as the threat posed to local cultural products, which contributes to the loss of small local business. Therefore, although globalisation is most likely helping to create more wealth in developing countries, it is not helping to close the gap between the world s poorest countries and the richest. This essay will discuss the different issues to whether economic globalisation has delivered improvements in welfare for most people of the world. Investment by multinational corporations helps countries by providing new jobs and skills for local people, but it may also have a negative impact. This perhaps is due to the increased competition for local businesses and the fact that many profits from foreign owned firms are taken out of the host country. For example, in 1988, the united states and Canada signed a free trade agreement that reduced trade and investment barriers and provided guidelines for the trade in services, and in 2992 they joined Mexico in signing the North American Free Trade Agreement (Kinsella et al, 2013). This agreement is not nearly as comprehensive as the treaties establishing the EU. In comparison to the treaties establishing the European Union, NAFTA is not as comprehensive. This creation of a free trade area meant that there was no customs union, no coordination of economic or monetary policy. I chose the latter because it did seem like the more original choice, and also because I am interested in actually finding out more about the city I spent every summer of my early childhood in. Location Stara Zagora is located on 42°26′N 25°39′E, in central Bulgaria, south from Sredna Gora mountain. The city s location makes it an excellent place for living, farming and animal husbandry. Stara Zagora s main exports are in the food industry and heavy industries. (Nikolaeva) Most of the information and idea movement happens digitally, either through the Internet or through local TV. As is the case in most Bulgarian cities, people from the countryside move to work in the city, while young people from Stara Zagora move to the capital Sofia to get their upper education. Regions Stara Zagora itself belongs to several regions, including the Upper Thracian Plain. Administratively, the city is divided into around 30 smaller subsections, but the difference between the different parts is very small. The main subsections are the Central Area, the Ayazmo Park, and the Industrial part. (Stara Zagora Municipality) The Stara Zagora region itself, which includes the city and the villages around it, is united by the common interests and identities of the citizens, who are very proud of some of the cities iconic symbols, such as the football club Beroe , the Ayazmo Park, and the Samara Flag ... • 27. Essay On Malicious Algorithms In [10], author proposed a scheme which identifies the malicious nodes by using aggregate signature algorithm. It associates three algorithms. (1) The proof creating algorithm: Whenever the nodes involved in a communication receive a message, they create a proof that is based on aggregate signature algorithm. (2) The checkup algorithm: This algorithm is called when the source node suspects that the transmitted packets are dropped. If the destination reports that it does not receive all transmitted packets, it will invoke this algorithm to detect the malicious node. The source first sends the route request and waits for responses from all neighboring nodes with which it gets a reliable route. According to this proposed scheme the source node should not send data packets immediately after receiving the first reply. Timer Expired Table is used to set timer after the reception of first reply. This table stores the sequence number of the packet. Collect Route Reply Table is used to store arrival time. Node s waiting time depends on the distance. Entries in the table help to identify malicious node. [19] presented a black hole detection scheme. In this method, when the source node receives RREP packets, it generates a new RREQ. RREQ has the highest sequence number and it is unicast through the route which the RREP packet was received. Malicious node generates a RREP with highest sequence number on receiving RREQ. Malicious node sends the fake RREP packet to the source node. Now source identifies the malicious node. • 28. The Effects Of Digital Distractions On The College Classroom Digital distractions are affecting the college classroom in many ways. First, let us establish what a digital distraction is. By definition to be distracted is having one s thoughts or attention drawn away: unable to concentrate or give attention to something (Distracted). To be digitally distracted is to just add technology to that. Digital distractions range from texting and driving to checking one s phone when socializing with other people. These two examples are very noticeable in today s society. People are being injured and are dying at an alarming rate from compulsively using their smartphones while driving (Greenfield). People are also losing the social skill required to communicate face to face (The Negative Impacts of Social Media on Face to Face Interactions). Digital distractions occur continually in the college setting and affect students in and outside of the classroom. A common, if not the most common, means of digital distraction is a smartphone. They allow access to the internet and social media, such as Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. With access to these, students can easily be distracted from their work in class. When a student is texting, it not only disrupts their learning experience, but it disrupts others as well. Allowing a student to bring a personal computer into class is another problem. The student could be working on their class work and taking notes, or they are just browsing the internet, playing games, checking social media, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The amount of awe Gene possesses for Finny is incredible, and the pin point analyzation of him is notable. Originating in the 1900 s, a secret organisation called the Society of the Righteous and Harmonious Fists, began carrying out attacks on Chinese Christians and foreigners. They became known in the West as the boxers , for their martial arts fighting style. What caused the Boxer Rebellion? There were three main causes. The first cause for the Boxer Rebellion, was the anti foreign stance in China. As a result of suffering humiliating defeats in both the first, and second Opium wars, China was forced to grant concessions to foreigners. Furthermore, they had to sign the unequal treaties which allowed the West to gain a significant amount of control over China. This left the Chinese population poverty stricken, and angry at foreign powers. The economy became disrupted by the arrival of modernity and industrialism. According to historian David Silbey Many Chinese worked in industries that were disrupted by the arrival of the railroad and the telegraph. There was a sense that China s balance had been thrown out of whack by these modern innovations, and only by destroying the innovations and the foreigners who brought them could the balance be restored. . The Chinese regarded the West as foreign devils , and wished to retain sovereignty and independence. They were extremely nationalistic. Mark Twain addressed the boxer rebellion in 1900. ... The manipulation of the human memory is key to man s control over the human mind. Memory can divide what humans see and what humans can remember. Some memories may be deceitful, but it all depends on the state of mind and past experiences of that individual. Memory isn t just a personal experience that s based only on that person, an event can change people physically and mentally. Memory is based off of multiple factors that occur in the brain. It s a deep subject that both neuropsychologist and psychologist have tried to completely understand in the past decade. Comparison Between Hunger Games And Hunger Games Taking the kids from our districts, forcing them to kill one another while we watch this is the Capitol s way of reminding us how totally we are at their mercy. How little chance we would stand of surviving another rebellion (19). This quote is from the novel Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It describes one way that The Capitol suppresses the people of Panem, potentially having two of their friends, family, and children face off with other kids from a different district. The Capitol is reminding people that they are dominant and the citizens can do nothing to oppose them. Hunger Games takes place in a dystopian society where every year, a male and female tribute from ages 12 18 is chosen from each district, 24 in total, to fight to the death to win food and supplies for their families, and was published in 2008. Another example of a dystopian novel is Lord of the Flies by William Golding. Published in 1954, this book is about a group of boys from England who become stranded on an uninhabited island after their plane was struck down, assumably because of a war. How do these books compare if they were published about 54 years apart? One reason is that they both used fire symbolically. Stress is caused by stressors, which are physical or psychological demands to which an individual responds. A reaction or response to a stressor is called strain (Landy Conte, 2016, p. 372). Whether it be physical or psychological stress, sound mental and body health are crucial when it comes to performing job functions safely, efficiently, and effectively. Increased levels of stress can often lead to mental health and psychical disorders at the expense of the worker. This very reason is why it must be studied, resolved, and prevented in the workplace when possible. Beginning with an assembly line worker, common stressors related to this position can include physical stressors such as repetitive actions, heavy lifting, and persistent standing, or psychological stress concerns with autonomy and lack of control. There is concerns that doing repetitive motions and tasks can lead to musculoskeletal disorders, such as repetitive strain injuries. OSHA has stated this including the mention of performing same or similar tasks repetitively. Exposure to these known risk factors for MSDs increases a worker s risk of injury ( Ergonomics , 2017). In a film market that is saturated with mindless multi million dollar blockbusters, a seemingly thematically ambitious one like Elysium can stand out amongst the clutter. Though it by all means isn t a perfect film, District 9 stood out for its approach at sci fi allegory, mixing documentary like filmmaking with spectacular action set pieces while thoughtfully tackling themes of racism and xenophobia. However, Elysium does not reach the same level of sophistication as Blomkamp s previous work. Elysium is a film with great potential for social commentary through science fiction storytelling, that is unfortunately marred by shallow Hollywood spectacle, clichés, and plot contrivances that discredit the film s themes. Set in 2154, Elysium portrays Earth as a society plagued by overpopulation and excess pollution, where the privileged elite live in a ring shaped satellite that orbits the earth known as Elysium. • 46. Eukaryotic Of Eukaryotic And Eukaryotic Genomes I. Introduction Perhaps one of the first lessons one is taught about bacteria is that they constitute the prokaryotic domain of life, while humans and most other readily visible life forms are firmly rooted in the eukaryotic domain. These domains diverged many millions of years ago from a common ancestor and, while the eukaryotic branch later split into eukaryotic and archaeal domains, it maintained its separation from the prokaryotic domain (Woese et al., 1990). Prokaryotic and eukaryotic genomes are naturally very distinct in both content and structure as a result of eons long separation, and one tends to classify these domains as very distinct entities. However, there is increasing evidence of so called eukaryotic bacterial genes, or genes present in bacterial genomes that have some sort of eukaryotic origin or function. These eukaryotic bacterial genes are primarily of concern in determining virulence factors of human pathogens. As defined below, bacterial genes can be evolutionarily or functionally eukaryotic, or both. Presence of either type of gene would indicate some interaction between bacteria and eukaryotes, the most oft studied of which are pathogenic interactions. Discovering eukaryotic bacterial genes is particularly important in pathogens that secrete effectors to be taken up by host eukaryotic cells. These effectors tend to modulate host cell functions, so there would be some logic in these effectors being encoded by eukaryotic genes. Most research has been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The RX and TX Led s On the Board Will Flash When Data Is Being Transmitted via the Atmega8u2/Atmega16u2 Chip and USB Connection to the Computer (But Not For Serial Communication On Pins 0 And 1). After That Is Finished, The Arduino Selects Another AD0 Line, And Can Use That Sensor. So Every Sensor Is Used At I2C Address 0x68 (One By One) And 0x69 Is Never Used. This Should Make It Possible To Have Many MPU 6050 Sensors In A Project. Even More Than 10 Sensor Should Be Possible. Note That Requesting Data From Many MPU 6050 Sensors Is Slow, Because The I2C Bus Is Slow. A Sensor With SPI Interface Is Faster. At This Moment (15 July 2014) It Is Not Known If This Trick Works For The MPU 6050. Measurements The Raw Values Raises Questions in the Forums, Since the Raw Values Might Seem Unstable. Below Are The Raw Values Of The Sensor That I Measured, So You Can Compare Them With Your Own Raw Values. The Raw Values Change A Lot Due To A Number Of Reasons. The Default Sensitivity Is High, And The Sensor Returns 16 Bits, But The Actual Valid Number Of Bits Is Less Than 16 Bits. Since They Are 16 Bits, A Variation Of 50 Is Just A Very Small ... • 48. Income Tax Hypothesis To test the hypothesis of increasing income taxes causes people to find ways to avoid tax or causes citizens to work less, ultimately reducing the tax rate can be tested at the national level, as well as, the state level. In one state a higher income tax rate could cause people to work more, but when increasing income taxes is tested at the national level the average might prove the opposite. In order to test the effects of increasing income taxes I would suggest a data set that is aimed more at the national level. The data set provided by the Internal Revenue Service has tax years from 1996 to 2013, ranging in different adjusted gross incomes of $0 to $10,000,000 or more. With the years provided as well as the different income brackets the data shows how many people were a part of a certain income level at one point of time and in another point of time when the tax rates can be increased how many people switched income brackets. Variable such as GDP and the unemployment rate could be factored in, which would allow a regression to be ran and then one could find out if the increasing tax rates does reduce the tax rate at the national level. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The data set is provided by the United States Census Bureau and it breaks down income taxes as well as individual income tax by different states. Why I think looking at the effects of increasing income taxes at the state level is the certain states that might not have such a large population such as Montana or Alaska might have more of an effect on the reduction in the tax rate, and the opposite might prove true for states such as California, or Texas. The variables in these different states might be different such as the unemployment rate in California might be higher than it is in Montana so that might have more of an effect on the tax rate. In other words, to look at the whole one must look at the pieces ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
