Article Title
The title of the article is essential as it is what can be
used to identify the nature of the article. As our topic is
Domestic Violence it is important that the title reflects
this. We have decided to title our article ‘Exposed’, as
we feel it best reflects our investigation into the topic
of domestic violence.

Masthead
The masthead of the magazine is extremely important
as it is what people use to identify the magazine. Our
masthead will be titled ‘TV Weekly’, and we will use
this masthead within the article to reinforce the fact
that the article is a TV Listing.

Date and Channel
The date and channel of the listing is key as it is what people use
to find out when the documentary is being shown on television.
Our target audience is teenagers between the ages of 16 and 19,
so the time that our documentary would be aired is past the
watershed at 9pm, due to the nature of the issues being raised.
We have also decided that we will screen our documentary on
Channel 4, due to most well-known documentaries such as
‘Dispatches’ being shown here.

Main Image
The main image is a typical convention found within magazine
articles. The image that we will be using will show a female
domestic violence victim looking vulnerable. The image will link to
the text, so people will immediately be able to gather what the
article will entail.

Font
The font that we will use for our masthead will be the STENCIL
font, as we want it to appear as though the title has been
‘stamped’ on. This has connotations of an ‘official’ document,
which links in with domestic violence as a criminal offence.

Statistics
We will use domestic violence statistics within the listing in order
to give a brief insight into the seriousness of the issue and
encourage readers to want to watch the documentary and find
out more about the topic.

Colour Scheme
The colour scheme that we will be using is red and black as we
feel these are the colours that best reflect the issue of domestic
violence. The colour red has connotations of blood and violence,
however can also have connotations of love which links in with
the violence that can sometimes arise in personal relationships.
Black has connotations of darkness and is quite chilling,
suggesting that domestic violence is an important issue not to be
taken lightly.
