Introduction
The Directorate of Technical Education, Vocational and Industrial Training, Himachal Pradesh at Sundernagar is having
the Administrative Control of its functional units in the State. The Department of Technical Education, Vocational & Industrial
Training is responsible for providing Technical Education, Vocational& Industrial Training in the State at various levels i.e.
ITI/VTC’s- Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) DGT certified courses
Polytechnics - Diploma Courses for middle level technicians
Engineering/Pharmacy Colleges:- Undergraduate/Post-Graduate in Engineering and Technology/Pharmacy
Now the Department of Technical Education has administrative and financial control over the following institutions.

In all ITIIs of Himachal Pradesh both Engineering and Non-Engineering trades are running as per the approved NSQF compliant
courses of DGT (Directorate General of Training) under CTS (Craftsman Training Scheme)
Engineering Trades: 36
Non-Engineering Trades: 28
Criteria to open New ITIs
With reference to the guidelines of Government of India, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Directorate
General of Training, New Delhi vide notification letter No. DGT-11012/4/2021-O/o DIR (TC), all the ITIs (New and Existing) shall
run with minimum 4 trades and 8 units with combination of at least 1 each from Engineering, Non-Engineering, New-
age/Industry 4.0 Trades.
Keeping in view the same, all the newly opened ITIs in HP has been notified with 4 trades and 8 units with combination
of at least 1 each from Engineering, Non-Engineering, New-age/Industry 4.0 Trades.
