21. 12PlacementsTypical career path scenarios for Mechanical Engineering are:A Mechanical Engineer can start his career in Government departments by entry from Astt. Engineer post by direct central recruitment through advertisement in newspaper.They can also be selected to Gazette posts through competitive examinations conducted by Union and State Public Service Commission.In Defense Services, young engineers start as second Lieutenants or equivalent cadres after getting selected through Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy.
