The Connected Learning Initiative (CLIx) at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, India won the UNESCO 2017 Prize for Use of ICTs in Education. CLIx aims to improve the professional and academic prospects of high school students and transform teacher practice through developing open educational resources and a digital learning platform. It partners with state governments and other organizations to provide teacher professional development and integrate technology into classrooms through a design-based research approach. Studies found CLIx improved learning outcomes in math, science, and English and increased teachers' digital skills and positive views of technology in education.
