Agriculture contributes 32% of GDP but is predominantly subsistence-based. - Climate change is causing more extreme weather events like floods and drought. Annual rainfall varies significantly across regions from 500mm to 2800mm. Higher temperatures are also being observed. - While Uganda produces more food than it consumes, 12% of the population is food insecure, mostly in northern areas. The government is taking measures like developing drought-resistant crops, rural development projects, and early warning systems to address food insecurity challenges from climate change.
