This document summarizes a client server chat application system that allows users worldwide to communicate through the internet. The system allows an administrator to communicate with project leaders and programmers to send messages about ongoing projects. The administrator can monitor login/logout times and chat about projects. The system also maintains offline messages. It provides a user friendly interface with different authentication levels and security. The key advantages are that users worldwide can access the system and it has improved performance over existing systems. The system uses VB.NET for the front end, SQL Server as the back end, and runs on Windows with hardware specifications of a dual core processor, 1GB RAM, and 80GB hard disk. It has modules for online chat, member registration, email, security

2. SYNOPSIS
• This project is mainly developed to communicate between the users across
worldwide through Internet.
• The project entitled “Client Server Chat Application System ” set of platform for
the project leaders and administrator to send messages to keep constant interaction
with the programmers.
• The administrator can sit at his system and communicate with the project leaders,
programmers and can also maintain the login time, logout time.
•He can chat about the project going on with both the programmers and project
leaders. This project also maintains offline messages.
• The project leader gives the instant report about the project to the administrator.

9. Online Chat Module
Registered members are allowed to chat with other registered
members. Member needs to be authenticated before entering to chat
window. Chatting feature is available in 2 ways :
–
(Single Mode) where 1 member can chat with another member.
–
(Group Mode) where n members can chat with each other.

10. Member Registration Module
•Member can register and sign in here. For registration,
member has to provide personal details, address details,
employment details, account details and they have to agree with
policies.
•Member can sign in by providing their account details
(Username and password).

11. Sending and Receiving mails:
By making use of this module, Members can send/receive/view mails. Many
features have been provided to members so that they can 1) manage (view/ edit/
delete) their mails, 2) forward mails, 3) send attachments, 4) send group mail,
manage mails in folders etc.
Integrated Security Module:
This module is made is provide security features to the application.
