Why waiting is the best approach:
• Improvements could be done in best sequence.
Would avoid work being damaged, destroyed, redone.
• More cost-effective to address all renovations at
once; work would not have to be redone, and should
be economies of scale bidding only once.
• Would minimize disruption to audiences.
• Would increase public’s “wow factor.” Initial
improvements would be hidden infrastructure.

SAPAC fundraising:
• Committed to raising $2.5 million for Auditorium.
• Raised $7.3 million of $13.7 million goal for
performing arts campus (including renovated
Auditorium).
• SAPAC must first complete fundraising before any
funds will be available for construction.
• Goal should be reached 4Q of 2012 or 1Q or 2013.
Bidding could begin next year.

once.
