Charlie Round describes various cinematography shots including medium close ups showing a person from the waist up, low-angle shots using a worm's eye view to demonstrate status or power, and close ups focusing on a person's face and shoulders. Other shots are establishing shots to set the scene, long shots showing a full body with background, and over the shoulder shots for conversations. Point of view shots see from a person's perspective while extreme close ups focus on eyes and mouth to show emotion. High angle shots use a bird's eye view and two shots frame two people to suggest their relationship.
