Introduction to the Company
 Coal India is the largest Indian coal manufacturing company in
terms of sales.
 Indian Govt. nationalized coal Industry in 1970 and by 1972 it
acquired most of the coal mines in India.
 To consolidate the business of the coking & non coking coal under
one entity, a former holding company in the form of Coal India
Limited(CIL) was formed.
 CIL is an organized state owned coal mining corporate came into
being on November 1975 with the government taking over private
coal mines.
 Coal India is the single largest coal production in the world.
