My fourth grade students will choose one holiday and in a presentation explain the traditions
from two or more cultures one of which can be their own. They will give their presentation after looking
at a few holidays that are commonly shared but have different traditions in a power point, watching a
video on holiday traditions, and getting in groups and asking each person how they spend their holiday,
by the end of the week with 70% of accuracy.
Unit Plan- Holiday Traditions
Day 1-Power Point Presentation on common holidays that have different traditions.
Day 2-Have each student write about their favorite holiday and why it is their favorite holiday then have
some share in class.
Day 3-Watch a video on holiday traditions then discuss.

Day 4-Have them get in groups of 4 and share with each member one tradition they have on their
favorite holiday.
Day 5-Have the students pick a holiday that they would like to present and give two or more traditions
other than their own. Allow them to prepare for presentations the following week.
