Magnolia Officnali And Bark Essay
Stress and anxiety can cause some pretty strong emotional responses the range of which can be as
large as the number of people to talk to about the subject. Though the response our bodies give to
these environmental irritants is the same. As a part of evolution the lower part of your brain or the
reptilian hard wired part of your brain releases hormones and adrenalin into your blood stream. This is
called your flee or fight reflex. The upper part of our brain or our reasoning center controls our
reaction but does nothing about the chemicals released into our body s. The result is that if you live or
work in environments that trigger these responses in you over and over again hormonal and adrenal
chemicals in your body build up and can be very toxic to your system causing the symptoms related to

to reduce the production of adrenalin by your adrenal gland by promoting production of a steroid
called a corticosteroid which suppresses inflammation. It acts to enhance your body s ability to inhibit
fungal and bacterial growth as a result reduces inflammation and pain. It also increases the levels of
acetylcholine in the brain. Acetylcholine is a chemical vital to brain cell growth. Studies have shown
that the lack of this chemical in the brain has a direct effect on the plaque build in the brain associated

In theory, it has been proved that futures and swaps can be equal to the combination of forwards. (Hull
J C, 1997)Generally, a foreign exchange settlement contract will be signed by banks and their
customers, which stipulates the type of foreign currency to be used, the sum, the exchange rates and
duration. On the due date when income or expenditure of foreign exchange occurs, currency exchange
settlement will be operated in accordance with the contract. In order to improve efficiency, it s
necessary to adjust the hedging when using forward contracts. (Brealey R, Kaplanis E. 1995)When the
interest rate fluctuates randomly, the forwards strategy can be divided into three smaller parts: the
Minimum Variance Hedging, Merton / Breeden Hedging and speculation. (Briys E, Solnik B.
1992)When the interest rate is certain, there is no price difference between futures contracts and
forward contracts. Perfect hedge can be achieved, no matter what type of hedging tools is used.
However, the two is no longer able to replace each other when interest rates move randomly, because
of the existence of marking to market in futures market operation. The above selection is based on the
effectiveness of futures and forwards. Next, the selection rules will emphasis on other features.
Futures contracts are standardized by the Exchange, where the transactions usually take place.

enjoyable places. Hawaii and Las Vegas both have some of the greatest tourist attractions in the world.

Arguments Against Vegetarianism
Albert Einstein once said, Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of
life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. Many enlightened and intelligent people
have along with Einstein come to realize that the problems Americans face with health and the
environment can be solved with simply partaking in the more compassionate lifestyle accredited to the
vegetarian movement. Americans should adopt vegetarian diets because they are more beneficial to
one s health, more sustainable for the environment, and more ethical than the standard Western diet.
Adopting a vegetarian diet has exceptional health benefits that can t be ignored. For instance, in the
article Why Turn to Vegetarianism, award ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

our bodies as well of the bodies of the animals approximately 20,000 of them per minute in the U.S.
alone who are brutally raised and slaughtered for their flesh and excretions. Animals are intelligent,
loving, and very much deserving of life. Humans have come to think that they own every animal on
the planet and can extort, exploit and execute them at no cost except $5.99 a pound. However, there is
a much greater cost to the meat on America s plate millions of animals lives. Furthermore, in the same
article, Melanie Joy states, Animals are routinely castrated, de beaked, and de horned without any
painkiller whatsoever. They are born and raised in crowded, filthy, dark environments where their
existence is one of abject misery and terror. Animals are sentient beings with nervous systems and
thought processes. The pain and suffering animals in commercial farming must endure preceding their
murder is harrowing. If factory farms had glass walls, people would take a moment to think about the
consequences their eating habits ensue. It is a simple and apparent conclusion that a vegetarian diet is
more humane and virtuous than the standard Western

Design And Management Of Networks
Design and Management of Networks By Name: Course code+ Name: Professor: Institution: City and
State: Date: Introduction NGN Co. is one of the leading and fastest growing online consulting
corporations in the biosphere specializing in the telecommunications and networking industry
(Plunkett, 2014). Based on the dynamism with which technology is advancing, the number of
expected and the often set goals are increasing which must be achieved in an attempt to keep the
company up and running. One of the major areas that need proper attention and updating is the
networking department. Maintaining the highest level of dynamism and security in the integrated
network is critical especially with the recent developments in technology (Lavan, et.al, 2007). Further,
the company has recently experienced growth in their customer base and size and as such increasing
the possible challenges most likely to face the network. As such, it would be necessary for the
company to develop a more integrative network architecture design to continue enjoying the positive
growth both currently and in the days to come. This paper seeks to present a more concrete network
architecture design that improves on the current network infrastructure of NGN Co. to integrate the
most recent wireless technologies for better and more reliable connectivity within the organization and

Theme Of Women In The Yellow Wallpaper
The Woman behind the Wallpaper
There comes John, and I must put this away, he hates to have me write a word. (Gilman 469) This
quote is a prime example of the lack of freedom and control woman in the 1800 s have. The narrator
of our short story The Yellow Wallpaper is an excellent example of a Victorian Woman who expresses
the theme of Female Oppression and inequality. Through use of literary elements such as
characterization, symbolism and imagery Gilman perfectly illustrates the social issues these women
struggle with.
Gilman uses literary elements such as characterization and imagery to help emphasize the detrimental
effects of female oppression. In the story the characterization helps to demonstrate the struggles
between Jane Doe and John. Her husband, John, often demeans the narrator making her appear self
centered. Perhaps that is one reason I do not get well faster. You see he does not believe I am sick.
(Gilman 468) This illustrates the toxic and unhealthy relationship between John and his wife. John
controls her by forcing her to believe all her issues are in her head, causing her paranoia and delusion.
Furthermore, this helps express how much power men hold over women and how little control
females have over their lives. Another example of how literary elements demonstrate the overall
theme of inequality of women occurs when Gilman describes their house through immense imagery.
One example of the amount of control John has comes through the dark and eerie

How To Write An Essay About A Boy
The novel About A Boy, by Nick Hornby, depicts the life of a social outcast named Marcus, who is
sheltered from the outside world by his mother, and is just trying to be accepted by society. While on
the path to achieving this goal, Marcus obtains a newly found self knowledge, within himself, as a
direct result of the obstacles and conflicts he faces. There are many obstacles which exemplify how
Marcus obtains self knowledge about himself; one was between him and his mother, Fiona. Fiona was
very controlling over Marcus life, and the day to day activities in which he engaged. For instance, she

Also, the incident of Fiona s attempted suicide assisted Marcus in realizing that even though it may
seem to him that he is an alien to the everyday societal changes of the world, he understands that what
his mother had done for him in the past was beneficial to him now, because he apprehends that she
knows what is best for him and what will be most beneficial to him. Acquiring this newly found self
knowledge aids Marcus further on his path to self discovery. Another ordeal that is represented in the
novel About A Boy is the ongoing conflict between an individual and his peers. Similarly, this
continuous conflict is emphasized greatly within the relationship between Marcus and his fellow
classmates. As a result of Marcus veering off of the many, absurd rules of society, he is bullied by his
classmates and picked on everyday at school. Consequently, Marcus seeks refuge, from the abuse he
endures daily, by befriending fellow classmates Nicky and Mark. After Marcus does acquire a
friendship with these two boys, he is abandoned because he was also causing them to be bullied.
Marcus does however meet someone like him, who doesn t follow the laws set by society. Ellie
befriends Marcus after multiple encounters with him at the vending machine, as a result of this
friendship; Ellie and Marcus are arrested while on their way to Cambridge. Marcus then realizes that
his life cannot be based entirely on making impetuous decisions, but more so on analyzing the event

The Differences Of The Odyssey By Homer s The Odyssey
Odyssey Essay!
The amazing epic poem by Homer entitled The Odyssey shares many similarities and many
differences as well with the Hallmark movie of the same name. The epic poem is about the hero
Odysseus who has spent twenty long years filled with toil and loss, through war and sea desperate to
return to his home of Ithaca. Odysseus has angered some of the gods and goddesses of a Greek
Mythology with his destruction of the mighty city of Troy. Odysseus is represented in the poem and
the movie, but there are several differences between the two in the events he encountered. There are
also numerous similarities
For starters, the setting of the movie and the poem are both centralized around Ithaca and scattered
Islands of Greece. The Greek mythology was also a main theme in the two, such as Odysseus s
protection by The goddess Athena and the hatred be Odysseus and Poseidon. One of the more difficult
aspect that the movie had gotten spot on was the displaying of Odysseus s leadership throughout the
God s (mainly Poseidon s) wrath and the ever enduring seas of Greece. However throughout all of the
hardships his crewmen remained loyal to him and his faith that they would one day return to the
shores of Odysseus s mighty Kingdom of Ithaca.
Another main similarity between the poem and the movie but put into more depth in the movie is how
the people of Ithaca where dealing with Odysseus s absence. Penelope stayed faithful to Odysseus
while also keeping the promise of marrying

The Code Substitution ( Cdd ) Learning Essay
The Code Substitution (CDD) Learning is Immediate and Delayed Memory Tests. This test is based
on the symbol digit coding paradigm. The ANAM rendition emphasizes scanning and paired associate
learning of the symbol number pairs. The test also includes a recall component. A string of up to nine
symbols and nine digits are paired in a key across the upper portion of the screen. During the test,
there is a box at the bottom of the screen that contains a single symbol number pair. Pairings at the
bottom change and at times match the pairing in the key at the top. Other times the pairing is incorrect.
During the learning phase, the participant indicates whether or not the pairings at the bottom match the
key and receives feedback for incorrect responses. An immediate and/or a delayed recall trial can also
be included. During the recall phase (M2S), there is no key at the top and the participant must indicate
if the pairings appearing at the bottom are correct or incorrect from memory The ANAM test is
portable and can be administrated by a proctor who is available to clarify questions the participant
may have about how to complete the assessment. The proctor can provide minimal, i.e. percentage of
correct, mean, throughput information on how the individual performed compared to his norm group,

Judith And Holofernes By Artemisia Gentileschi
Throughout the years artists have chosen to portray the same event in the forms of paintings or
sculptures, but often, due to the time period and views or values of the artist the interpretations differ
and the final products are vastly different. Two primary examples of this are Caravaggio and
Gentileschi who are both renowned artists of the Baroque era and style, which encompasses the
intensity of the colors, as well as the brutal subject matter that it entails.
Figures 17.9 Judith and Holofernes (c. 1598), by Caravaggio and figure 17.10 Judith Decapitating
Holofernes (c. 1620) by Artemisia Gentileschi both illustrate the same biblical story of Judith seducing
Holofernes and decapitating him to free the people of his oppressive rule. Caravaggio and Gentileschi
pick the precise moment of the decapitation and capture it with brutal realism. These pieces when
glanced at have a similar resemblance, but when one looks more deeply their differences are put on
display. The most apparent and most important difference that changes these pieces entirely is the way
the two artists choose to depict the nature of Judith. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

as more fragile and timid. Caravaggio uses an amplified chiaroscuro called tenebrism. In his painting
there is a dramatic contrast between a somewhat toned down light and an intense dark. In his painting
the darker shades are concentrated on Holofernes and the maid. The light is casted upon Judith, which

3.2.4 Explain why routing devices do not need the upper layer of the OSI model to route traffic. What
is the highest layer of the OSI model used by the router to decide where to forward traffic? The first
three layers of the OSI is typically what a router needs to route traffic. The first three layer are
physical, data link and network. The highest level the OSI decide where to forward traffic to is the
transport layer which is located in the host layers. Lab 3.2 Review 1. How does the abstraction of the
physical layer facilitate interoperability across networks using different types of physical wires? IP

be complex, confusing and time consuming if unsure. 2. The OSI model is not directly implemented in
networking and often the distinction between the layers will blur in implementation. Why does it

Mindwalk
Mindwalk, a cerebral movie released in 1990 and directed by Astra Taylor, intricately displays how
the humanities, social sciences, and hard sciences are all interconnected. The film is directed in an
interesting and creative way that addresses the three different disciplines, and pays specific attention
to their differences and similarities. Through the use of three main characters, Thomas the poet, Jack
the American politician, and Sonia the Norwegian scientist, the film depicts diverse views on the three
disciplines, and focuses on their respective interpretations of how the world works. The film is
noteworthy because it shows various views on the world s crisis of perception , which is a significant
theme in the movie. The movie is non fiction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As previously stated, this is due to the fact that the majority of the world s problems are
interconnected with one another. A specific example of this interconnection can be seen quite easily
when examining two of the world s biggest problems: poverty and population stabilization.
Statistically, there is a correlation between high fertility rates and high poverty rates (Merrick). This
does not imply causation, but does tell us a relationship between the two is present. So what is the
interconnection? First of all, high poverty rates mean less education regarding family planning and
less access to birth control methods. Secondly, high poverty rates might also encourage families to
have more children that will eventually provide supplemental income or physical labor (Merrick). So
population growth cannot be stabilized without addressing problems of poverty and addressing
problems of poverty will mostly likely aid in population stabilization. Figure 1 and 2 in the Appendix
show a visual representation of the poorest countries and the countries with the highest fertility rates.
Focusing on the area of Africa, it is evident that the poorest countries also have the highest fertility
rates. Obviously, there are numerous other factors that influence poverty rates and population growth,
the takeaway here is the two are interconnected through theory as well as statistical

When Cultures Collide
Management, and the ability to lead and cultivate a team of individuals who strive to meet targets,
work hard, and have loyalty to their company is an extremely difficult task by any standards. It
requires a unique kind of person who is both demanding and rewarding, who can handle confrontation
and who holds people to reasonable standards while encouraging teamwork and cooperation. This
alone makes running a company, and finding upper and middle managers to facilitate plans and goals
a worthy task, but with the advent of fast paced globalization, companies are now having to handle not

Similarities Between The Great Gatsby And Goodbye Columbus
On occasion, there can be two novels that share the same theme. Sometimes they can have the same
plot, but in the case of the two novels, The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and the novel
Goodbye Columbus, by Philip Roth they explore the same dynamics of the American dream. In both
novels there are similar themes of sex and money as a form of power. Both novels can relate to each
other because the authors decided to show how the pursuit of the American dream may not always be
a good thing, and how sex and money can cause problems in that pursuit.
The idea of the new world verses the old world is a major premise in the novel Goodbye Columbus. In
this novel there are two families, the Patimkins and the Klugmans, who live in two ... Show more

They also have a refrigerator full of fresh fruit that is always full. This is all the ideal life for Neil, and
when Brenda in introduced into the mix Neils perfect world is formed. If he could become part of the
Patimkin family he would have sex, money and in essence the American dream.
Those three ideas are also present in the novel The Great Gatsby. In this novel the two worlds are
divided by old and new money, instead of the idea of assimilation to society after immigration. In The
Great Gatsby, where you live determines your wealth, just as it did in the novel Goodbye Columbus.
In The Great Gatsby the idea of wealth representing power is the most prevalent aspect of the novel.
The title character Jay Gatsby, is wealthy and he lives in the new money side of town. The love of his
life is Daisy Buchannan, and she lives on the old money side of town. Their love is similar to that of
Neil and Brenda. They are symbols of two different worlds, yet they find love, but in both of cases the
love does not end happy. It is a sign that maybe what you think is perfect and what you think is right
for you is not always the case. In The Great Gatsby the theme of sex is also a reoccurring one, many
of the characters use sex as a form of power. It is easy to see that in both of the novels sex and money
go hand in hand. Daisy and Gatsby don t have the same problems that Brenda and Neil have, and they
don t have as big of a problem dealing

In Scandinavia women were thought to be evil if they had a higher power role in society over men.
This is displayed in Scandinavian literature about the story of Queen Gunnhilder, in her stories she
was described as being malevolent and her nickname was Destructive Prima Donna by one scholar. A
real life example would be an incident that occurred in 1466. A woman named Ælseby, called another
man s wife a wretch which in Norse means (sklak), and the son of a whore. Ælseby was once again
causing trouble a few years after this previous incident; after another woman had said to Ælseby that
she was a tramp who wished her husband dead , Ælseby went to the woman s house and started
beating her up. Many would stereotype Ælseby has a quarrelsome woman who is commonly
associated with being a witch. Mitchell takes Ælseby behavior a step further by referencing other
scholars who said that back during this time period women like Ælseby who was regarded as
contentious, outspoken, troublesome... were considered to be evil women. As previously mentioned,
many historians who write about witch hunting often come across various works about witchcraft
beliefs from witch hunters who believed that women had sexual relations with the devil or other

It s very beneficial for many reasons. It can help keep you safe if you are far away from the police

before to many people get hurt. And some people think that carrying a concealed handgun could make

Most adults who carry a concealed handgun follow the law. Nick Leghorn, who has a blog called

The Yellow Wallpaper, By Charlotte Perkins Gilman
The standing that women have had in the past was so bad that often times they were deemed less than
their counterparts. May a times a woman s intuition of themselves were ignored, because the male
doctors were certain they were the ones correct not the females. In the time period in which
physiological heath was relatively new, certain diagnostics would have been overlooked and patient
were given the wrong type of help they need, especially woman that often times knew they had
something different. Other times if a woman desired to do something they had to ask there significant
other, if they were refused they had to refrain themselves from asking again. As it was in the case in
the story made by Charlotte Perkins Gilman The Yellow Wallpaper , in which a young mother
opinions and wants were all but ignored. A question that some people have while reading the story
The Yellow Wallpaper was if the young woman was suffering from oppression or depression.
However one might feel that she might be subject to both, it is more than clear that depression is the
higher factor involved here. Depression can be defined like an example given Merriam Webster by a
state of feeling sad : dejection (2) : a psychoneurotic or psychotic disorder marked especially by
sadness, inactivity, difficulty in thinking and concentration, a significant increase or decrease in
appetite and time spent sleeping, feelings of dejection and hopelessness, and sometimes suicidal

The Religious And Theological Dimensions Of Ralph Ellison...
M. Cooper Harriss s monograph, Ralph Ellison s Invisible Theology, brings into focus the religious
and theological dimensions of Ralph Ellison s authorship. Against reductive tendencies of materialist
and secular accounts of racial identity, Harriss argues that Ellison s understanding of race,
characterized as an invisible theology in a secular age, makes possible a reconsideration of the relation
between race, religion, and secularism. In order to bring the religious aspects of racial life into view,
Harriss proceeds along two lines: genealogically, he situates Ellison s writings in an array of religious
and theological contexts. These include, for example, attending to different genealogies of invisibility
which inflect Ellison s own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Harriss s contention is not that racial formation in Ellison should be thought of as a religious instead
of a secular concept; rather, it is that race is a secular concept precisely because it is internally
indivisible from religious antecedents (191). Given this network of connections, Harriss s book
belongs next to recent studies which explicate the dynamic crossings between race, religion, and
secularism (e.g., Theodore Vial, Modern Religion, Modern Race, Oxford University Press, 2016).
Second, Invisible Theology marshals the resources of religious studies to foreground unappreciated
dimensions of literary texts. Harriss s book particularly stands with other studies engaging the
neglected religious aspects of twentieth century African American literature (e.g., Josef Sorett, Spirit
in the Dark: A Religious History of Racial Aesthetics, Oxford University Press, 2016). Harriss s
distinctive methodological points are noteworthy: naming the presence of religion and theology in
Ellison s fiction does not depend on its belonging to a confessional standpoint; instead, taking cues
from the hermeneutical tradition which includes Schleiermacher, Geertz, and Tillich, Harriss means
for these characterizations to specify a negotiation of hyphenated and oppositional identities (say,
racial and national), and the process

The Growth Of Internet Coupled With The Rise Of Multimedia...
Abstract. The growth of internet coupled with the rise in networked infrastructure has resulted in
exponential increase in the multimedia content being shared over the communication networks. The
advancement in technology has resulted in increase in multimedia piracy. This is due to the fact that it
is very easy to copy, duplicate and distributes multimedia content using current day technology. In
such a scenario Digital Rights Management is one of the prominent issues to be dealt with and
tremendous work is going on in this direction round the globe. Digital watermarking and
fingerprinting have emerged as fundamental technologies to cater to DRM issues. These technologies
have been found to be of prominent use in content authentication, copy protection, copyright control,
broadcast monitoring and forensic applications. Various requirements of a digital watermarking
system include Imperceptibility, Robustness, Security, Payload and Computational complexity. The
main requirement of real time DRM systems is lesser computational complexity and high robustness.
This chapter proposes and analyses a robust and computational efficient Image watermarking
technique in spatial domain based on Inter Block Pixel Difference (IBPD). The cover image is divided
into 8×8 non overlapping blocks and difference between intensities of two pixels of adjacent blocks at
predefined positions is calculated. Depending upon the watermark bit to be embedded; both the pixels

Questions On Gross Receipts Tax
b. New Mexico
i. Gross Receipts Tax Generally
The state gross receipts tax is a tax on the privilege of engaging in business in New Mexico. Engaging
in business means carrying on or causing to be carried on any activity with the purpose of direct or
indirect benefit, with certain exceptions inapplicable to the Company s facts. The tax is assessed
against the gross proceeds of a business.
For purposes of the GRT, a presumption exists that all receipts of a person engaging in business are
subject to the GRT, unless the taxpayer can make an affirmative showing that the receipts are not
taxable. The taxpayer bears the burden of proving any exemption or deduction.

The court stated that the [a]doption of the destination principle does not require us to construe the
gross receipts tax to include principles of transfer of title, transfer of possession, or risk of loss, which
are concepts that were not included in the language employed by our legislature. Therefore, we hold
that the destination principle applies to determine whether an interstate transaction is a taxable sale
under our gross receipts tax laws. While the court does not hold the principles of transfer of title,
transfer of possession, or risk of loss as dispositive, they are certainly important in analyzing the situs
of the sale. iii. Transactions in the Stream of Interstate Commerce
A deduction is allowed from the gross receipts tax for receipts from transactions in interstate
commerce if the imposition of the tax would be unlawful under the Constitution. Presumably, to the
extent that taxation of receipts derived from transactions in foreign commerce would violate the
Constitution, one may conclude that New Mexico could not impose its gross receipts tax.
The deduction for receipts derived from transactions in interstate commerce has been a part of the
gross receipts tax for many years. Contemporary commerce clause doctrine has held that there is no
bar to the imposition of a state s tax on income or receipts from a transaction merely because a
transaction is in interstate commerce, as long as certain requirements are met.

Essay about Taxes, GDP and Net Personal Income
Taxes are an inevitable necessary part of life. While most of us become stressed out and suffer
financially from taxes, it is a known fact that we enjoy many of the benefits of the process of taxation.
To look at it from a positive point of view, we must remember a few important parts of our lives that
are made possible from taxes. These include new highway construction and repairs, the building and
maintenance of public parks and facilities, our law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and
much of the health care system; all courtesy of taxes. This assignment will discuss the government s
need to raise and lower taxes and the outcome it has on the GDP and net personal income and other
key factors that play part in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Typically, when the government raises taxes our gross income remains the same allowing for a loss of
personal net income. As our net personal income decreases the amount of disposable income we have
also shrinks. This effects the economy in a negative way because people spend less which essentially
decreases the income of the businesses that they normally buy their goods and services from, which
ultimately leads to a decrease in the total tax revenue that was enforced to help the economy to begin
with.
Furthermore, just as too low taxes over a period of time can have detrimental effects, having too high
taxes can produce detrimental effects as well. When taxes are increased it seems that the productivity
of employees seems to decrease, thus businesses suffer. This seems to be because people tend to
decrease their output at work because they feel they are not getting as much money per hour as the
human effort they put forth should be paid for (Congressional Budget Office, 2005). As people begin
to spend less and there is a lower demand, the supply becomes higher and essentially just sits in
storage. This leads to higher unemployment rates which drop the demand even further and as a direct
result, people s net

Systems (MEMS) technology which facilitated the development of smart sensor nodes. Wireless
sensor network (WSN) is a group of sensor nodes able to sense, measure and, gather information from

The figure shows the power consumption levels of the power hungry blocks in a commercial sensor
node. In data communication, no waiting time results to an energy efficient communication. Energy
efficiency means less power consumption in a period. The decrease of power consumption means the
decrease of power budget of the node. For reducing power using communication scheme, there are
many protocols that will budget the power where no power is wasted while there is no
communication. It implements duty cycling of transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx). This method
incorporates timing to the Tx and Rx which decreases the waiting time. This timing circuit posts
implementation problems such as increase in power, delay, and the probability of error. An alternative
technique is the asynchronous wake up where there is another receiver module beside the transceiver
which is a wake up receiver (WuRx). The architecture of the receiver determines the simplicity in
hardware and power consumption. This architecture will depend on the modulation scheme that will
be used. The purpose of the wake up receiver is to monitor the transmitter or data for initiation of data
communication. The main transceiver is in sleep state except during an initiated communication,
shifting to its active state. The WuRx should have low power average consumption than the duty
cycled communication schemes to prove its advantage. Its operation is also shown in Figure 1.2. The

Analysis Of A Century Of Artists Books
In continuation and because of the introduction and implementation of the white cube on the artist
book, one of the main short comings of this exhibition is in its dealing with the book as an object. Put
simply, A Century of Artists Books treats the objects within its exhibition as merely traditional two
dimensional artworks, like drawings or paintings, rather than the tactile objects that they are. Rena M.
Hoisington, a curator at the Boston Musuem of Art, was also by this issue and states, the reader s

However, one workshop done at the MoMA suggests a different point of view. In April of 2016, the
Museum of Modern Art held a workshop entitled, Touching Art: Teaching with MoMA s Artist Book
Collection, in which participants were allowed to touch, hold, and flip through various artists books
from the MoMA s library collection (Rockwell). Within this article, Alethea Rockwell, assistant
educator for Exhibition, Gallery, and Artist programs states that hands on access is particularly
important when learning and viewing artists books. While the program dealt mostly with artist flip
books, one can argue that any book benefits from a viewer seeing and handling it in its entirety rather
than one little part. Given light of this opinion from MoMA on artists books, it is clear that it does not
complement the ideas presented in the 1994 exhibition. Overall, MoMA seems to be confused about
its own definition and presentation ideals when it comes to artists books, which, as stated earlier, is
important and which leads to viewers having different experiences and education with the exact same
objects depending on who and where this presentation is happening at the same institution. One theory
on why this discrepancy occurs maybe the time gap between the exhibition and the workshop,
however, there is no mention of an evolving theory or potential mistake released by MoMA anywhere.
Perhaps, however, this discrepancy has something to do with the difference between education

Externalization Of Ladies In Promotions
Externalization of ladies in promotions are destructive to society goals since they shape what we need
to see in our sentimental accomplices and now even our material products. Men are by all account not
the only ones becoming tied up with these goals, ladies additionally fall into these issues. Men are not
by any means the only ones who have received this unsafe state of mind towards connections,
closeness, and sex. Ladies can simply embrace a negative mental self view and state of mind,
sustaining the negative generalizations about ladies, sexuality, closeness, and relationships. 10 the

that less than 10% live past 35. The individuals who do, similar to their more youthful ... Show more

Overcoming Homelessness
It is estimated that over a half million people in America are currently living without homes, sleeping
instead in crowded shelters, parks, bus stations, and other places not meant for human
accommodation. Many who are unfamiliar with this stigmatizing situation presume there is a simple
solution to this social crisis. Get a job! they say, attributing the homeless wretched situation to
laziness. However, overcoming homelessness is not that simple. Contrary to popular belief, the vast
majority of vagrants do work or try to find work, but due to factors in the economy beyond their
control, they find homelessness nearly insurmountable. [economic aspects?] For many in America,
homelessness is nigh inescapable due to economic impediments such as the availability/affordability
of housing, the discrepancy between the cost of living and low income, and the difficulty in securing a
stable income. One major obstacle in overcoming homelessness is obtaining a home itself. The decline
in the availability and affordability of housing makes living in a secure home a dream for many.
Although there are homeless shelters, public housing, and subsidized housing available, they are
rather limited in space, not to mention typically ranging from substandard to outright terrible
conditions. Many who have tried living in shelters avoid it because there are more problems living in
one than on the street; there are often many problems living in a shelter they report of, such as
overcrowding,

Bringing Back the Big Guns A Star Wars: The Force Awakens Analysis
It s true the Force, the Jedi, all of it. It s all true (Harrison Ford, The Force Awakens). The new Star
Wars flick The Force Awakens burst onto the big screen with enormous critical and monetary success
this past winter, and it seems that the franchise has truly been revived from the overall upsets of the
prequels back to its epic roots in pop culture. But does the movie really hold up compared to the
original trilogy? Indeed, the film shines through its engaging plot, important themes and flawless
technique.
The Force Awakens is very similar in plot to A New Hope, but there are plenty of interesting twists.
The movie starts off on the desert planet of Jakku. Poe, a rebel fighter, is taken into custody by the big
bad of the film Kylo Ren. However, Finn, one of the First Order s stormtroopers, helps him to escape
Ren s ship and they crash land on Jakku. With Poe seemingly killed in the crash, Finn wanders into
town and meets our main heroine, Rey, who is a scavenger fending for herself on Jakku. Rey has
found a BB 8 droid belonging to Poe and the Rebel Alliance with a map piece leading to the missing
Jedi Luke Skywalker. Finn lies to Rey about being a rebel fighter to escape Jakku with her. On their
journey towards the Rebel Alliance, the two encounter friends and foes alike, and Rey ends up
captured by Ren due to her awakened Force powers. With the help of the

Social Implications Of Animal Testing Essay
Social implications:
There are also positive and negative social implications. There is often not a huge amount of success
around animal testing. Things that work on animals often don t work and cannot prove to work on
humans. The testing of just one substance can involve using up to 800 animals, and could cost over $6
million. This proves that animal testing is expensive, time consuming, unpredictable, and not easily
reproducible. When an animal test doesn t end successfully it s costing a lot of money. This money
could be spent on more necessary things that would benefit the public. Animal testing can be
dangerous to society and the people who the drugs are tested on after the animals. Usually even if the
animal survives the experiment, it

Anorexia Nervosa Essay
Anorexia Nervosa
I have chosen to study about Anorexia Nervosa because I would like to know more about this topic
and why people do it to themselves. I wonder why young people in particular feel that they need to be
so thin.
In this assignment I would like to study mainly on why teenage girls feel so conscious about their
bodies, what they feel about the way that women are portrayed in the media and the effects of
Anorexia Nervosa.
To be able to cover this stage of work, I will find information from the Internet and the library, write
off to a campaign and collect leaflets. From all of this information I find I hope to get photos and
information all about the causes, treatment and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are always pictures in teenage magazines and in the newspapers. They are a bad influence on all
teenagers as it is very easy to get jealous. One thing every girl should know is that as all their bodily
changes take place, most girls begin to get more body fat, which makes them curvier in shape. This is
not just a case of getting fat , but rather becoming more womanly in shape. At some point most girls
begin to worry that they are putting on weight and start to compare themselves to models in
magazines.
What are the causes?
The disease usually begins in young people around the time of puberty. The causes for this disease are
still not known. Some people think that if they are thinner they will be more happy and successful.
Some times the causes of anorexia can be from a painful childhood, sexual abuse, physical abuse,
domineering coaches and controlling relationships and they are punishing themselves because of it.
Domineering coaches are a reason for anorexia because for example Ballet, you have to be slim and
petite, for obvious reasons. If a girl wants to be a Ballet dancer and they are told they cant because
they haven t got the right figure then they will do what ever it takes to change that. This may make
them go over the top and start to get too thin. Girls that don t think

My Cultural Values
My beliefs, morals, values, and views on my culture are based upon my upbringing, the values within
my family, and the norms adopted by my culture. However, I can t only thank my family for whom I
am today; my personal experiences and feelings have had a huge impact on my cultural views and
experiences. I went to Puerto Rico when I was four years old and haven t been ever since. I remember
eating limbers and roosters crowing and hot steam rising from the ground from a passing shower but
nothing about my generations past. It s sad to know nothing about an island that many of my kind are
very proud of. I m clueless of what my Puerto Rican people have been through. Political, economic,
social relations, what about them, I wonder? All I know about the island s is that my relatives are
Puerto Ricans from an island in the Caribbean called Puerto Rico. I Christina Ruiz was an easy going
American Puerto Rican teen growing up, my family was small growing up it was mom, dad my
younger brother who was 5 years younger than I. I went to school, pre K 12th grade in Springfield,
Mass. I had a handful of friends in my school. It was hard for me to trust people, but that came from
my dad always embedding it into our heads Careful who you trust . I grew up in Plainfield / Main

Struggle For Land In Israel Conflict Essay
The Struggle for Land in Israel and Palestine: What s the Problems Ahead?
Abstract
The Israeli Palestinian conflict is a continuing conflict, which is a part of Arab Israel conflict and the
Middle East war. This paper mainly explores the conflicts which caused the struggle for land in Israel
and Palestine.
Why Is It So Hard to Stop Struggling For Land? The land struggle between Israel and Palestine have
never ended for almost a century. Today, though there are a lot of agreements, the conflicts and the
possibility of the war are still existent. There four main reasons to explain why it is so hard to stop
struggling for land: the history, water resources, vengeance, and religious.
The History
Both of two ethnics claim to the land of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Israel, Large amounts (700 900 mm) are measured in the Golan and the Galilee mountains and in
the south Karmel (Carmel). and In the south of the Negev and in the Elat Mountains amounts of rain
even lower than 25 mm/yr are measured. (Israel Water Context, 1961 1990 [3]) Unbalanced
distribution of water resources in space and time makes this region serious shortage of water. And the
river and lakes are scarce in this area. Jordan River is the only perennial river in this region. River and
lakes are direct water sources for human. Thus, naturally, the Jordan River becomes the fuse of the
struggle for land in Israel and Palestine.
Vengeance
Israel will settle scores with those who are killing and those who are encouraging them. Anyone who
raises their hand against us will have their hand cut off. (Bob Fredericks, 2015 [4]). After reading
Netanyahu s words, we can truly know how the vengeance plays a part in the Conflicts between Israel
and Palestine. The vengeance in two groups of people just started at Jewish immigration began. Small
anger and shock cumulated to a huge crack in two sides. When one side launched rockets, the other
side must take a counter back to against. Thus, this the reason why the vengeance causes the struggle
in two sides.
Religious
It s definitely a religious war. That the land struggle especially happens in Jerusalem and the holy sites
can explain this. And also, two leaders both use religion in recent

(Hull J C, 1997)Generally, a foreign exchange settlement contract will be signed by banks and their customers, which stipulates the type of foreign currency to be used, the sum, the exchange rates and duration. On the due date when income or expenditure of foreign exchange occurs, currency exchange settlement will be operated in accordance with the contract. (Gilman 469) This quote is a prime example of the lack of freedom and control woman in the 1800 s have. The narrator of our short story The Yellow Wallpaper is an excellent example of a Victorian Woman who expresses the theme of Female Oppression and inequality. Through use of literary elements such as characterization, symbolism and imagery Gilman perfectly illustrates the social issues these women struggle with. Gilman uses literary elements such as characterization and imagery to help emphasize the detrimental effects of female oppression. In the story the characterization helps to demonstrate the struggles between Jane Doe and John. Her husband, John, often demeans the narrator making her appear self centered. Perhaps that is one reason I do not get well faster. You see he does not believe I am sick. (Gilman 468) This illustrates the toxic and unhealthy relationship between John and his wife. John controls her by forcing her to believe all her issues are in her head, causing her paranoia and delusion. Furthermore, this helps express how much power men hold over women and how little control females have over their lives. Another example of how literary elements demonstrate the overall theme of inequality of women occurs when Gilman describes their house through immense imagery. Judith And Holofernes By Artemisia Gentileschi Throughout the years artists have chosen to portray the same event in the forms of paintings or sculptures, but often, due to the time period and views or values of the artist the interpretations differ and the final products are vastly different. Two primary examples of this are Caravaggio and Gentileschi who are both renowned artists of the Baroque era and style, which encompasses the intensity of the colors, as well as the brutal subject matter that it entails. Exercise 3.2.4 Explain why routing devices do not need the upper layer of the OSI model to route traffic. What is the highest layer of the OSI model used by the router to decide where to forward traffic? The first three layers of the OSI is typically what a router needs to route traffic. The first three layer are physical, data link and network. The highest level the OSI decide where to forward traffic to is the transport layer which is located in the host layers. Lab 3.2 Review 1. How does the abstraction of the physical layer facilitate interoperability across networks using different types of physical wires? IP terminals might be located in different parts of the build making it complex. There are lines coming in and out of the build that might be different than that issued to a company. To try and replace one will be complex, confusing and time consuming if unsure. 2. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As previously stated, this is due to the fact that the majority of the world s problems are interconnected with one another. A specific example of this interconnection can be seen quite easily when examining two of the world s biggest problems: poverty and population stabilization. Statistically, there is a correlation between high fertility rates and high poverty rates (Merrick). This does not imply causation, but does tell us a relationship between the two is present. So what is the interconnection? First of all, high poverty rates mean less education regarding family planning and less access to birth control methods. Secondly, high poverty rates might also encourage families to have more children that will eventually provide supplemental income or physical labor (Merrick). So population growth cannot be stabilized without addressing problems of poverty and addressing problems of poverty will mostly likely aid in population stabilization. Figure 1 and 2 in the Appendix show a visual representation of the poorest countries and the countries with the highest fertility rates. Focusing on the area of Africa, it is evident that the poorest countries also have the highest fertility rates. Sometimes they can have the same plot, but in the case of the two novels, The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and the novel Goodbye Columbus, by Philip Roth they explore the same dynamics of the American dream. In both novels there are similar themes of sex and money as a form of power. Both novels can relate to each other because the authors decided to show how the pursuit of the American dream may not always be a good thing, and how sex and money can cause problems in that pursuit. In this novel the two worlds are divided by old and new money, instead of the idea of assimilation to society after immigration. In The Great Gatsby, where you live determines your wealth, just as it did in the novel Goodbye Columbus. In The Great Gatsby the idea of wealth representing power is the most prevalent aspect of the novel. The title character Jay Gatsby, is wealthy and he lives in the new money side of town. The love of his life is Daisy Buchannan, and she lives on the old money side of town. Their love is similar to that of Neil and Brenda. They are symbols of two different worlds, yet they find love, but in both of cases the love does not end happy. It is a sign that maybe what you think is perfect and what you think is right for you is not always the case. Cooper Harriss s monograph, Ralph Ellison s Invisible Theology, brings into focus the religious and theological dimensions of Ralph Ellison s authorship. Against reductive tendencies of materialist and secular accounts of racial identity, Harriss argues that Ellison s understanding of race, characterized as an invisible theology in a secular age, makes possible a reconsideration of the relation between race, religion, and secularism. In order to bring the religious aspects of racial life into view, Harriss proceeds along two lines: genealogically, he situates Ellison s writings in an array of religious and theological contexts. Harriss s contention is not that racial formation in Ellison should be thought of as a religious instead of a secular concept; rather, it is that race is a secular concept precisely because it is internally indivisible from religious antecedents (191). Given this network of connections, Harriss s book belongs next to recent studies which explicate the dynamic crossings between race, religion, and secularism (e.g., Theodore Vial, Modern Religion, Modern Race, Oxford University Press, 2016). Second, Invisible Theology marshals the resources of religious studies to foreground unappreciated dimensions of literary texts. Harriss s book particularly stands with other studies engaging the neglected religious aspects of twentieth century African American literature (e.g., Josef Sorett, Spirit in the Dark: A Religious History of Racial Aesthetics, Oxford University Press, 2016). Harriss s distinctive methodological points are noteworthy: naming the presence of religion and theology in Ellison s fiction does not depend on its belonging to a confessional standpoint; instead, taking cues from the hermeneutical tradition which includes Schleiermacher, Geertz, and Tillich, Harriss means for these characterizations to specify a negotiation of hyphenated and oppositional identities (say, racial and national), and the process ... The growth of internet coupled with the rise in networked infrastructure has resulted in exponential increase in the multimedia content being shared over the communication networks. The advancement in technology has resulted in increase in multimedia piracy. This is due to the fact that it is very easy to copy, duplicate and distributes multimedia content using current day technology. In such a scenario Digital Rights Management is one of the prominent issues to be dealt with and tremendous work is going on in this direction round the globe. Digital watermarking and fingerprinting have emerged as fundamental technologies to cater to DRM issues. These technologies have been found to be of prominent use in content authentication, copy protection, copyright control, broadcast monitoring and forensic applications. Various requirements of a digital watermarking system include Imperceptibility, Robustness, Security, Payload and Computational complexity. The main requirement of real time DRM systems is lesser computational complexity and high robustness. This chapter proposes and analyses a robust and computational efficient Image watermarking technique in spatial domain based on Inter Block Pixel Difference (IBPD). The tax is assessed against the gross proceeds of a business. For purposes of the GRT, a presumption exists that all receipts of a person engaging in business are subject to the GRT, unless the taxpayer can make an affirmative showing that the receipts are not taxable. While the court does not hold the principles of transfer of title, transfer of possession, or risk of loss as dispositive, they are certainly important in analyzing the situs of the sale. iii. Transactions in the Stream of Interstate Commerce A deduction is allowed from the gross receipts tax for receipts from transactions in interstate commerce if the imposition of the tax would be unlawful under the Constitution. Furthermore, just as too low taxes over a period of time can have detrimental effects, having too high taxes can produce detrimental effects as well. When taxes are increased it seems that the productivity of employees seems to decrease, thus businesses suffer. [economic aspects?] For many in America, homelessness is nigh inescapable due to economic impediments such as the availability/affordability of housing, the discrepancy between the cost of living and low income, and the difficulty in securing a stable income. One major obstacle in overcoming homelessness is obtaining a home itself. The decline in the availability and affordability of housing makes living in a secure home a dream for many. It s all true (Harrison Ford, The Force Awakens). The new Star Wars flick The Force Awakens burst onto the big screen with enormous critical and monetary success this past winter, and it seems that the franchise has truly been revived from the overall upsets of the prequels back to its epic roots in pop culture. But does the movie really hold up compared to the original trilogy? Indeed, the film shines through its engaging plot, important themes and flawless technique. The Force Awakens is very similar in plot to A New Hope, but there are plenty of interesting twists. The movie starts off on the desert planet of Jakku. Poe, a rebel fighter, is taken into custody by the big bad of the film Kylo Ren. However, Finn, one of the First Order s stormtroopers, helps him to escape Ren s ship and they crash land on Jakku. With Poe seemingly killed in the crash, Finn wanders into town and meets our main heroine, Rey, who is a scavenger fending for herself on Jakku. Rey has found a BB 8 droid belonging to Poe and the Rebel Alliance with a map piece leading to the missing Jedi Luke Skywalker. Finn lies to Rey about being a rebel fighter to escape Jakku with her. • 45. Social Implications Of Animal Testing Essay Social implications: There are also positive and negative social implications. There is often not a huge amount of success around animal testing. Things that work on animals often don t work and cannot prove to work on humans. The testing of just one substance can involve using up to 800 animals, and could cost over $6 million. This proves that animal testing is expensive, time consuming, unpredictable, and not easily reproducible. When an animal test doesn t end successfully it s costing a lot of money. This money could be spent on more necessary things that would benefit the public. Animal testing can be dangerous to society and the people who the drugs are tested on after the animals. This is not just a case of getting fat , but rather becoming more womanly in shape. At some point most girls begin to worry that they are putting on weight and start to compare themselves to models in magazines. What are the causes? The disease usually begins in young people around the time of puberty. The causes for this disease are still not known. Some people think that if they are thinner they will be more happy and successful. Some times the causes of anorexia can be from a painful childhood, sexual abuse, physical abuse, domineering coaches and controlling relationships and they are punishing themselves because of it. Domineering coaches are a reason for anorexia because for example Ballet, you have to be slim and petite, for obvious reasons. However, I can t only thank my family for whom I am today; my personal experiences and feelings have had a huge impact on my cultural views and experiences. I went to Puerto Rico when I was four years old and haven t been ever since. • 48. Struggle For Land In Israel Conflict Essay The Struggle for Land in Israel and Palestine: What s the Problems Ahead? Abstract The Israeli Palestinian conflict is a continuing conflict, which is a part of Arab Israel conflict and the Middle East war. This paper mainly explores the conflicts which caused the struggle for land in Israel and Palestine. Why Is It So Hard to Stop Struggling For Land? The land struggle between Israel and Palestine have never ended for almost a century. Today, though there are a lot of agreements, the conflicts and the possibility of the war are still existent. There four main reasons to explain why it is so hard to stop struggling for land: the history, water resources, vengeance, and religious. The History Both of two ethnics claim to the land of ... In Israel, Large amounts (700 900 mm) are measured in the Golan and the Galilee mountains and in the south Karmel (Carmel). and In the south of the Negev and in the Elat Mountains amounts of rain even lower than 25 mm/yr are measured. (Israel Water Context, 1961 1990 [3]) Unbalanced distribution of water resources in space and time makes this region serious shortage of water. And the river and lakes are scarce in this area. Jordan River is the only perennial river in this region. River and lakes are direct water sources for human. Thus, naturally, the Jordan River becomes the fuse of the struggle for land in Israel and Palestine. Vengeance Israel will settle scores with those who are killing and those who are encouraging them. Anyone who raises their hand against us will have their hand cut off. (Bob Fredericks, 2015 [4]). After reading Netanyahu s words, we can truly know how the vengeance plays a part in the Conflicts between Israel and Palestine. The vengeance in two groups of people just started at Jewish immigration began. Small anger and shock cumulated to a huge crack in two sides. When one side launched rockets, the other side must take a counter back to against. Thus, this the reason why the vengeance causes the struggle in two sides. Religious It s definitely a religious war. That the land struggle especially happens in Jerusalem and the holy sites can explain this. And also, two leaders both use religion in recent ...
