Children's interpretation of the abuse, whether or not they disclose the experience, and how quickly they report it also affects the short- and long-term consequences. Children who are able to confide in a trusted adult and who are believed experience less trauma than children who do not disclose the abuse. Furthermore, children who disclose the abuse soon after its occurrence may be less traumatized than those children who live with the secret for years.
I believe that Learning the facts about childhood sexual abuse helps to prevent it.
Talking about it helps to prevent it.
Getting involved helps to prevent it.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. WhatisChildSexualAbuse?
It is a sort of exploitation in which a
child ( a person below the age of 18
years as per the UNCRC) is made
use by a grown up man or an older
youngster by requesting, frightening
or by any means. Unlike in the case
of sexual harassment performed
towards the adult ladies, the child’s
consent i.e. whether he approved or
not, is not regarded here. So such
activities performed even with the
permission of the child is legally
regarded as child molestation.

5. It is so tragic that one’s
own father, too, is no
longer a shelter for girl
child. ‘Reached home
back and has become
secure’ can no longer
be claimed by a large
number of girl children
at present.
6. The frequently visiting
and sweet offering
uncles and cousins
often misuse the
trust of the parents
and go on abusing
the girl child without
any risk
7. The closer and liberal
neighbor may be waiting
with an eagle’s eye for an
apt moment such as the
girl child is left alone in her
home or sent by her
mother to offer something
to the well wisher at the
next door. Helpless at
one’s door as well as at
the next door. So panic
again
8. The tricky and over-
communicating shop
keeper may bring the
girl child into the darker
side of the shop by
gradually gaining her
trust by regularly
offering sweets and
snacks.
9. The panic comes again that
too from teachers who are
considered to be the
promoters of values and
decency. They will make
use of any opportunity to
have different sorts of
sexual pleasure by
pretending to be exclusive
well wishers.
10. School buses become
rather insecure for children
that familiar ‘uncles on the
way’, too are to make use
of the chances to have
sexual pleasures without
any risk. The strangers at
the line buses are better in
this regard.
11. Gone are those days when
children were unaware of
the sexuality and such
things. The 24X7 Hours
mobile using teen ager
also is eager to practice
what he watches on the
adult only videos.
12. The girl who visits the home
of the closest friend is
made use by the brother
of the friend at her home
where he is left alone by
others who arte on a trip.

theFeaturesofAdolescence
It is the time of a rapid
change-physical as well
as mental-which creates
stress and strain in
individuals.At this stage,
if not provided accurate
guidance and correct
information, the
individual may be led to
anti-social activities like
sexual crimes. See the
Major features of
adolescence.
Major
features of
adolescence.
Emotional
Immaturity
Greed
for
Recognit
ion
Attraction
to Opposite
Sex
Hero-
worship
ping
18. This feature often creates problems out of silly
matters. For eg. If teenager is not getting proper
affection and love from the home, she naturally will
be in search for that. As she keeps emotional
immaturity, she regards the love provided by any
one else as the true love. Is often exploited by
peers, senior students, and even by teachers at
times.
Emotional
Immaturity
19. This is another version of the previous feature. A
teenager is most craving at this stage for being
recognized by others. So if she is not able to be
recognized by some positive aspects like studying well,
she will be trying to get attention by provoking the
opposite sex. Similarly, if she is not given an
appreciation by parents or teachers, she would do
whatever requested by the one who is ready to
recognize her-even to submit herself for the sexual
pleasure of the other one.
Greed for
Recognition
20. This is a natural tendency. So if there is no
proper direction or guidelines, she would fall in
the trap made by any male counter part
because of the disability to control her natural
physical thirst.
Attraction
towards the
opposite
sex
21. In modern times most of the teenagers worship
film heroes and sports stars, and they often try
to imitate them. As most of the films show
sexual violence as heroism, the girl teenager
often tries to get dated by a film star like man
without knowing his background, and
ultimately she gets trapped.
Hero
Worshipping
22.
23. Parents should avoid even
the minor sexual activities
like kissing and touching the
private parts before the eyes
of the children.
24. The mother should try to
hide the girl child from the
alcoholic father during the
night time
25. Never leave the girl child
alone with the relatives, and
show the guts to tell it
openly that his attitude is
not right, if sees something
suspicious from them.
26. Never send your girl child
alone to the next door nor
should give much freedom
to the man at next door to
enter the private places in
your home.
27. Never send your girl child
alone to the shop, and give
correct instructions how to
behave towards the shop
keeper and people.
28. Tell her not to go to the male
teachers alone, and to report
at home if she finds
suspicious behavior from
any male teacher however
silly matter it is.
29. Keep an eye on her
whenever she engages in
play with a male counter
part.
