Chemical properties describe how a substance reacts or changes during a chemical reaction. Some key chemical properties include flammability, which is the ability to burn; reactivity, how easily a substance combines with another; and changes in color, production of gas, or formation of precipitates, which can indicate a chemical change has occurred. A chemical change results in different substances being present after the reaction, while a physical change does not alter the composition of the matter.
