What is the Role of DNA in
Heredity?
•Some genes provide instructions for the
production of building blocks of the body,
such as keratin in hair and in skin. Some
genes code for the production of melanin
that gives brown color to skin, eyes and hair,
amylase for starch digestion or hormones
like insulin for regulation of blood sugar.

  • 12. What is the Role of DNA in Heredity? •Some genes provide instructions for the production of building blocks of the body, such as keratin in hair and in skin. Some genes code for the production of melanin that gives brown color to skin, eyes and hair, amylase for starch digestion or hormones like insulin for regulation of blood sugar.

  2. In, 1958, Proposed the idea that the sequence involve in the expression of heredity characteristics is from DNA to RNA to protein. However, this scheme is not true to all cells. Howard Temin (American oncologist) and David Baltimore (American Microbiologist) Discovered that, in some cells, the transfer of information is from RNA to DNA
  3. Once completed, you have now your one old strand and new strand.
  4. It occurs in the same way as DNA Replication, except that thymine (T) in DNA is replaced by uracil (U) in RNA.
