Mung Harina is a sole proprietorship located in General Santos City, Philippines that processes mung beans into flour. The firm chose to focus on mung bean flour as mung beans are commonly consumed in Filipino households and flour is a daily cooking staple. Mung Harina spent 820,000 Philippine pesos to establish the business, including funds from the owner and bank loans. It employs managers with degrees in relevant fields like business administration and finance to oversee operations, marketing, finances, and production. Mung Harina aims to provide quality mung bean flour to the community while creating jobs and supporting community events.

SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT
1.1Name of The Firm
The Firm’s name is called “Mung Harina” in which the “Mung” came from Mung Beans which is a green bean
that is commonly consumed in Filipino households and also the main ingredient of the product while Harina
came from the Filipino word of flour which is our product Mung Bean Flour.
1.2Location
Mung Harina’s main store and processing plant is located beside the Zabala Hotel, Purok Malakas, Barangay
San Isidro, General Santos City.
1.3Brief Description of the Project
To produce quality Mung Bean Flour to the community and to innovate the use of Mung Beans as the main
ingredient in producing flour for cooking.
1.4Project Summary
1.4.1 Market Feasibility
Mung Harina is a flour industry that processes Mung Beans into flour. We chose flour industry since it
is a common cooking ingredient that is used daily in every household and also we chose Mung Beans to
innovate the use of the bean as the main component to produce flour. Flour industry is a large industry since
flour is a daily cooking commodity, there are lots of other competing flour industry other than our Mung Harina.
With flour’s daily demand and the curiosity that come from the innovation of mung beans it has sale potential
for revenue.

2. 1.4.2 Technical Feasibility
Mung Harina uses Mung Beans as the main component of making Mung Bean flour in which the
equipment used are high power food processor and shifter to grind the mung beans into flour and to shift the
small pieces of bean that were not grinded thoroughly. The production site is located beside the Zabala Hotel,
Purok Malakas, Barangay San Isidro, General Santos City. In the transportation phase of the product is we
hire freight services to deliver our products to their designated locations to be sold. The total cost of starting
up the project totaled to Php 820 000.00
1.4.3 Management Feasibility
Mung Harina is a sole proprietorship type of business in which it is the most common form of business.
The persons included in the business are the General Manager, Marketing Manager, Operation Manager,
Financial Manager and the production worker. As a General Manager the one who analyse situations and
determine the best course of action, he must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
major in Marketing Management. He must be a strong effective communicator and has the ability to coordinate
the efforts of a large team of diverse creative employees. As a Financial Manager who is responsible for
providing financial advice and support to clients and colleagues to enable them to make sound business
decisions, he must have a bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting or economics,
experience as a loan officer, analyst or accountant that can demonstrate the skills in finance needed to direct
the financial strategies of a company. As an Operation Manager who he oversees and responsible for all the
activities in the organization which contribute to the effective production of goods and services, he must have
at least a bachelor’s degree in business administration, ability to understand customer needs, knows how to
communicate on many different levels with all types of people, tracks and measures staff performance, creates
a positive learning environment. As Marketing Manager who develops pricing strategies, balancing firm

3. objectives and customer satisfaction, formulates, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to
promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers, he must have a bachelor’s
degree in finance, business administration, accounting or economics, experience as a loan officer, analyst or
accountant that can demonstrate the skills in finance needed to direct the financial strategies of a company.
Production Workers who is responsible for performing production work in factories. Starts, operates, tends,
stops, and cleans machines. Assembles finished product .Inspects product to ensure high quality, they must
have a high school diploma and skills of manual dexterity, speed, math or mechanical abilities.
1.4.4 Financial Feasibility
Mung Harina spend Php 820 000 for the starting up of the project which includes land, building, Land
Improvements, Production Equipment and Office Equipment and the main ingredient which is Mung Beans.
Our starting up capital that was used to establish the business was from the owner’s personal money with
bank loans and sponsorship from other people.
1.4.5 Socio-Economic Impact
Socio-economic impact assessment focuses on evaluating the impacts development has on community
social and economic well-being. Mung Harina does not only produce healthy Mung Bean Flour that could be
used in cooking but also help the community by providing job opportunities and conducting community service
events that can help the community.
